The comments on YouTube are something. I wonder what people in the video would think if they knew in the future everyone will be lamenting about how their lives never were so good.
Around 10:30 a guy is interviewed who talks about looking for 'Jappy" girls. At the time, this would refer to "Jewish American Princesses." In case anyone was wondering.
This was the closest mall to me when growing up, worked in the Sterns dept, store there for a while around that time. Happy to answer questions.
e: "jappy" comes up a few times in the interviews.
This video is fantastic.
This is the mall I grew up with. In the state I remember vividly. I was 6 in β83 and it was around that time my parents took me there for the first time. I remember it vividly because I had never seen anything like a mall before and had no idea something like that could exist.
The accents...THE ACCENTS! As a NJ man in his 30βs I absolutely adore these 80βs Long Island accents.
Wowww i used to spend so much time at this mall.
I want a βwhere are they nowβ video SO bad.
Is there a sub just for videos like this (excluding this one)?
To clarify, videos of people just going about their day to day lives in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Iβve seen a few on here and thereβs usually a link to a few more on YouTube when these get posted but it would be cool to have a specific sub with just these posted.
Am I trippin or is that not Paul Reiser?
