Hey guys welcome back to the  channel we are here in Jasper   and today we are doing the  Maligne Canyon ice walk tour   we have been really excited to try this tour  for a long time now we've actually been here   in the winter and looked down into the canyon but  we've never walked along the floor before so we're   pretty much get going yeah the ice formations that  happen along the sides look pretty intense we've   seen a lot of photos of them and we're really  excited to experience that for ourselves for those   of you who don't know us i'm Cayleigh i'm David  and we run a travel and adventure blog called Made   to Travel we're passionate about activities that  get you outside and off the beaten path let's go This tour is 3.5 kilometers it's fairly easy it's  for like ages six and up you just um it's mostly   downhill it takes about three hours and it's  really reasonably priced it's like 69 for an adult   35 for a kid it is about minus 20 here this  morning in Jasper so we are definitely bundling   up that's like one of the biggest suggestions  would be just dress for the weather because it's   cold and there's not a lot of sun down down in  the canyon yeah and once you start walking like   there's no places to like go and warm up like  once you're on the walk you're outdoors you're   away from everything so definitely want to wear  big socks long underwear these pants for sure   pants yeah because one section has a part where  you actually slide down a rock which is really   neat but you want to wear something that you're  not gonna rip yeah they supply boots a helmet and   spikes so don't worry about bringing those things  if you have your own you could bring them but i   would recommend just using theirs because they're  really good stuff yeah i actually i'm going to   bring my heated socks and put those inside their  rubber boots which i feel like this tour starts at   the Maligne Canyon wilderness kitchen and then it  weaves across the canyon you'll go back and forth   across like three or four bridges and the  guides are awesome they're really knowledgeable After the fourth bridge you go down onto the  floor of the canyon and then the first stop is   into an ice cave which is really  cool you can actually go in and   walk around you can see all the water  dripping down which is pretty neat   can you keep going and then from there you make your way back  up to about the third bridge which is where   the majority of the really cool frozen i  guess we call them frozen waterfalls but   actually interesting fact they  are frozen springs so the spring   water comes out of the walls year  round at a constant temperature hi Bailey's been sick so we've had a  little bit of a needy dog this week loving the road trip though so in the summer the springs just look like a  wet wall obviously because the water's coming   down but in the winter it looks like a huge  frozen waterfall and it's constantly changing   because water is constantly coming out and the  ice formations are growing and it's pretty cool that pretty much sums it up thank  you so much for watching thank you   we will link a bunch of other winter in Canada and  Jasper videos below if you liked it give it a like   if you want to subscribe that would be awesome we  would really appreciate it we love having you guys   along for the journey we're fun sometimes yes we  have a ton of outdoor travel videos and a ton of   videos on our van builds so check those out yes  we will see you next week see you in the next one
