m0 fxp ham Tech welcome to my channel just out here in the garden mazy's here my dog going for a little wonder over there anyway we're on the malit dsp2 we've just connected on the hi Z antenna this very cheap short telescopic which we selected in the settings by just going radio shortwave antenna hi Z and they do recommend that you choose that antenna when you're using this kind of setup otherwise if you're using a long wire use the other one and just tap there how do we get to the frequency of HF bands well you can either choose band turn the frequency knob to the right look for a preset like 40 m there and that should set everything for you we've got LSB here as well the next thing I did I went into radio and I did turn on the preamp by tapping it and I changed the RF gain going to tap that turn the frequency knob to about 15 then to go back to radio just press and now let's just tune through see what we see just using this knob here the right hand knob now you can change the step that you tune by pressing down and just for now we'll turn it any either way until we get to one back and forth you do have to spin it a bit when you do this I don't really know why and the volume is here you want the white line underneath the volume you can press that down you can actually change a filter as well and attenuate the volume's there turn it up nice big speaker to [Music] [Applause] get now remember we just on a bit you know a very bad [Music] [Applause] telescopic Germany Hotel Victor kilo Germany hot Victor kilo yeah he's booming he's got a big battery on this 5,000 [Music] milliamp thisno P few miles from me okay let's keep going and [Music] know my paper log is up in the house I'm in the very cold shed in a back corner Garden um I've just got in here minutes ago on the little he what you got what you you can see it's completely [Applause] usable right let's try FTA okay if we go 7074 we can type that in just by tapping the screen 70 74 megahertz it's hard to do with one hand out of range not sure what I did there I shouldn't have done seven dot should have I so let's just do that again okay then we'll [Music] go Mar M's impatient mode USB mode FTA now just watch here for it to populate just take a minute it'll be long air there you go [Applause] FTA well we can go mode CW decode and CW and it's we now need to find uh some CW and it will actually decode I have tested it it does [Music] work to go keep it on narrow and then volume wait for some Transmissions changing the step [Music] Mazy still [Music] here I think that's working isn't it [Laughter] 59 and then if I want my local node QT [Laughter] London there's a lot of abbreviation with a with HF and then so if I tap the screen now I'm we go 4 3 4.55 mahz go to the mode NSM like so mode don't want decode and select the right antenna which is yeah it's the right antenna when someone speaks we'll get them on 70 CS no one there at the moment let's try 45.6 see if there's anyone on a local repeater well there's something there very weak FM gain bit too weak anyway you get the idea you can pretty much select anything including airband one so we need the right [Music] antenna and just waiting for those signals you can actually change how much of the scope you see compared to the Spectrum it says air there as well that's enough thought I'd show you that it's quite a small device and yeah you can connect it to your PC and do do many different items big big battery on this thing needs charging I know I put the stand on in a way that many don't but that's the way I liked it 73 all the best
