Smallest GlideBait Ever | One Day Build to Catch

8 53 one day this right here is the smallest glide bait ever that i've made and i haven't made it yet but i will make 20 millimeters on the dot which means before the joints cut this is about one and a half inches it's going to be a tiny bit longer than that given the joint hardware as far as i know that makes this the smallest glide bait ever if you know farther than that let me know in the comments because my first thought is if if this is gonna work it's not gonna work good it's just gonna work a little bit it's small enough to where it might not take a miracle to catch a fish with this that will always be good enough odds for me so let's do this there's a piece of tupelo so i just shortened that tail of smidget i think that's going to bring everything to one and a half inches after we install the joint hardware extra used so you might be surprised by how thick i leave this bait i think it's going to be thicker than it is tall if i didn't do that i don't think there would be any way for that bait to work properly that was like 15 extremely light scrapes we're getting the joint partially cut though oh i didn't transfer that to the other side this one day is getting me antsy oh my i just dropped this beautiful block that a subscriber made me right on the corner there sorry no time to cry time to cut that we're actually just gonna sand that what a chunker let's give some shape to it nice fresh new blade and the delfino three got to use those name brand utility knifes you know [Music] we must cut a very centered very on point tail slot here i'm using the knife to locate where it's going to go exactly then you make a little groove for the saw blade to go into tiny tiny tail slot let's get a tail fin cut doesn't take up much of the work bench perfect most definitely the smallest tail fan i have ever made right there there's the profile let's glue that tail fin in right now eye sockets drilled that's a nice shape that just looks spiffy as heck my intention is to get a quarter inch hole in the front and the back a deeper one in the front a shallow one in the back and maybe we can accurately weigh this thing i have my doubts i think i'm gonna have to get kind of lucky for this to work maybe the lure gods will bless us today this is point zero three two inch stainless steel wire [Applause] that goes in the vise and there's another wire going through that loop i just made in the vise [Applause] so one of those connections is way smaller and diameter than that one i'm gonna be able to set the big one in the v so it's kind of recessed and then the small one just won't be sticking very far out of the back piece i think it'll look like a really clean joint that is some nice tiny hardware those will look appropriate on that bait so the front hook hanger is going to be installed inside of the lead hole obviously line tie on the nose and there's only one treble hook let me make sure i got the right size i'm gonna go with one size 10 st36s i got a little messy with super glue i was drilling through this side and i popped out that side and then i filled that back in with super glue i didn't get any of that on camera but look it's the smallest glide bait ever we'll be able to assemble this bait just like this when it's done that looks fantastic let's get it sealed and painted and lead added and everything else does not sink but it wants to rise really slow see that and then the back piece does sink there's going to be a hook right there adding supplemental weight so i think that's perfect three drops in the front two in the back i sanded my heart's content done sanding we're gonna start with white next i want chartreuse on the top slash sides a little bit like such as i forgot which way was up on this tailpiece oh no wow i almost painted it wrong wow good thing i checked next color right down the middle you can probably tell what i'm going for now [Music] really not skimping with it either because with rainbow trout i always come back in with colors and fade out the pink that was a really deep green detail moss green hi hey ben but this is some ultra fine smallest mesh that i got and last for the scales will be silver boom okay i just made it kind of dark around the eye everything's fading into each other lots of color that looks great let's put dots on it and we gotta paint this tail fan too red oxide and once again for eyeballs it's a choice between those and these and those don't match so it's these but to make these cooler i did something cool i put white down there so there's contrast against that black eye to the tank it's looking good i think we're ready to assemble bait makers assemble if you guys need to ever do anything meticulous with your hands put a glove on it does something subconsciously makes you more careful awkwardly enough there's a hole back here that i need to fill the one in the middle okay water could have gotten in there and kind of water logged this bait and made it sink really hard over time and that'd be bad so fill your holes so this is really weird this has had me perplexed for quite a while now um i don't know why i mean i kind of do but it's just amazing that side doesn't touch by that distance and that side doesn't touch by that distance but otherwise it's free flappy it flaps just fine but it's like a restricted joint that just happened to be that way by mistake because it's such a small bait that could actually help it glide further than it would otherwise otherwise it would just hit the joint and be fully maxed out that way and it would just have this action it might be like it might be wushy now let's go see look at this mug isn't that the most incredible thing you've ever seen i thought it'd be most appropriate to go to a place where the fish don't have teeth first this thing could get bit off you know let's just try to catch a bass or a crappie or even a bluegill [Music] 248 oh yeah it sinks very level [Music] i don't know if you guys are even that's such a tiny tiny amount of action that i'm having to show you guys [Music] that works pretty good [Music] [Music] my final attempt to catch a fish will be for half hours it's 7 30. it's gonna get dark real soon i was unbelievably close to catching some trout at least a couple of times that one by the rock i think there was a hook in it i just didn't set it make the bait i keep the bait tied on i fish with the bait for very long time if it does not catch fish it does not catch fish and i don't catch fish in the video that's that's what i'm trying to say i do that but off video i've only been to one pond where i was catching bass this year so far it's just been tough whatever we got the whole year who cares i haven't posted it yet but i'm about to lady was she saw my swim bait in the water and it was swimming and she's like oh my god it looks like a real fish excuse me just shamelessly you know the audacity what they are you most proud of making there's so many lures i don't know well which one were you just like um probably the gnarly girl i was most proud of the ribbed one why are you most proud of that it was just i can't quite put my finger on it just like will you do the one day man i've been thinking about it more that's all i'm gonna say about that i've been thinking about it more waffles or pancakes um waffles i bet there's people that all they that all that they can make is a pancake because they only have a flat surface to grow on and they wish they had a waffle maker there's nobody with a waffle maker wishing they had a flat surface to grow so it's what that's the upgrade because you can have a waffle maker and still make pancakes are you going to turn marlin baits into a family business and teach your kids to make baits also like a sweatshop type deal we're gonna have more kids and create a sweatshop and make a big bait making factory and all of our kids can work there i don't know only if uh they wanted to that is it yeah only if they wanted to time will tell which do you enjoy more fishing or making lures making lures if not youtube what would you be doing um well i guess i was making lures anyway i'm trying to sell them so i'll just be making lures and try to sell them or anything else related to making lures and making money what's better fishing a tire the fisherman's sweater or a windbreaker well doesn't that just depend on what the weather is i don't know what a fisherman's sweater is because if it's really windy and it's like a waterproof jacket it's kind of drizzly out probably that but if it's like a nice sunny but kind of nippy day you put on that sweater is it possible to make a lure out of super glue and baking soda you just get like just make yourself a big block of it and carve out a lure probably a jig because it's super heavy couldn't you just like make a mold and put it in there and let it harden up i don't know like in a silicone mold yeah i could do like a video all about trying to make a lure out of super glue and baking soda you should do that and try different stuff what type of fish was your biggest cat catch and what did it weigh it was a spoonbill and i snagged it on purpose with snagging trouble hooks and it was like 40 pounds maybe 35 pounds i didn't weigh it did you guys hear the beep of that oven the preheat lined up perfectly when i was just gonna put them in anyway perfect timing all right sauce someone said you should make a copper in the shape of a jalapeno and call it the jalapeno popper that's really good yeah i like that people might think this is weird but that's the best way to sweeten pizza sauce how many one days are actually two days none i know yeah they've all been legit this is the mw blades knife joker color scheme handle feels amazing what jobs have you had before bait making as a lifeguard and a swimming uh lessons supervisor and instructor supervisor yeah you were i didn't do anything else yeah i worked for the city as a lifeguard and i worked for the ymca as a lifeguard that's crazy that you've only done that yeah i went from a lifeguard to a youtuber it's been quite the career what's the worst injury you've had while you were making except for the bandsaw accident i stabbed a chisel into my hand when i lived at my parents how was that though oh i was thinking about like your knuckle one or the one where you stabbed it right here or somewhere and it kept opening like for a long time yeah that's when i yeah and i had to pull the chisel out that was the worst one only you know about that i never i didn't tell anybody else that i just totally it was nasty impaled that meat with a chisel would you rather fish a river or a lake river probably because it's just hardier fish usually buffer they have more mussels that and therefore are better oh i got a surprise honey canadian bacon canadian bacon pineapple they can only go on half of other one pizza yes i got a cool kind of cheese those are the big chunks if you didn't build lures what would be your next go-to as far as a hobby or a line of work be like a crypto investor no like slingshot slingshot yeah you'd be that's a big difference i guess i'd be a slingshotter i want to say something with like landscaping or gardening or something like that it's probably what i'd do that's what i would do if i was a man landscaping yeah for sure right on i gotta smell this feta i hope it doesn't knock my socks off i don't think i like that bite is it gross no it's good you like it no it's powdery i mean it doesn't taste bad but i don't like the powder tiny tiny bag of cheese made cute noise when it fell what's your favorite thing about iowa that nobody cares about it amen it's really nice whoa look at look at this this cheese those are the thickest slices of shredded cheese i've ever seen i'll see if there's anymore when you make molds how often do you go back and make more vapes from it rarely yeah quite rarely what's the best or worst practical joke that you've played on someone or that was played on you does that happen practical jokes has never really been in my life no you've never like like jumped scared me or you don't do that you're a respectable wife but did you fart i've never farted on camera that i can recall not even edit it out i just would not have taken the time to edit that in that's more like how it actually is like i'd have to cut around a fart and add it to the oh i mean like have you ever farted while you were working and just edit it out oh yeah yeah i was gonna say if you say no i don't fart i say done yes [Music] we got it we got it those are some heavy pieces of pineapple for such a thin piece of crust out pretty good ew what i don't like hawaiian pizza does it taste good though for like peanuts a bite pineapple's a little much i don't think you need to be cut it's not good nobody likes slipped water i'll eat it as expected the pepperoni is delicious though
