a spectacular musical lots of energy now and ashes keep that keep it light so the panic is all very small okay from the top no no no stop stop hello my name is garth jennings and i'm the writer and director of sing i'm going to take you to the office with me right now and show you something i've not shown anyone before which is how i make the movies so this is my office and this over here is my voice booth and record what we call scratch they're just rough voices they're not the real voices they'll be done by the proper actors once i've got it working here at the studio we record all the voices for the movie and we put them all together with the storyboards and we cut a version of the movie hi christian i'm not so good in small spaces and now we need to record the real actors to bring the characters to life properly mr moon i'm not so good in small spaces okay okay okay somebody's sticking my projects okay come on let's get you out of here all our actors are super talented i am gonna win a ton of awards for this my job is to make sure that the actor is clear on what they're doing and they feel comfortable to just try different things out that's actually quite funny we could use that for buster so we did we put it in the movie hey this guy doesn't have it figured out so we can't start work right now i have to be open and read the actor and try and get the best out of them that also serves my film if you do it right it can be the most exciting process in the world yeah i think we pretty much nailed it okay guys just like we rehearsed playback [Music] is that perfect trifecta of big laughs big feelings big songs time to show the world what we're made of it's time for people to come together and feel just joy we need some good news we need a fairy tale to believe in so sing out loud and dance in the aisles i want to watch it a thousand more times i think it's something even buster moon would be proud of this is gonna be the greatest show ever made it's somehow even more exciting big city big lights big dreams welcome to outer space we were trying to raise the bar in every area on scene two and one of them was the costumes when i heard where darty was designing the costumes it was really exciting after the first meeting that we had with garth there was never a question in my mind i couldn't wait to be a part of it they could do things we wouldn't even think of just immediately you could see how much better these costumes would be in their hands we really worked hand in hand with the animators to share real life techniques to show the texture let's get this show in ship shape shape we were able to really reference things that we had done as designers that were very tangible and hand done just really ornate detailing and it was really interesting to say how do we translate all these textures that are really much attached to a handmade process and then do that in animation watching these gorgeous designs i think it's really inspiring to see so many artists collaborate it really means something to add that level of creativity and artistry to this movie great job everybody great job garth and everybody behind the scenes just got this great instinct for making something that looks and feels visually spectacular i kept forgetting that it was an animated movie because everything looks so real it's even more grand and more colorful and more sparkle for anyone that loves costume design or fashion to have that experience as 3d animation it's just incredible you're blown away by a group of people that really put their heart and soul in something and i think that to be a part of something that's so beautiful and fun it's really exciting together we can make a show that'll take the audience out of this world the film just makes you feel so wonderful and so alive and the entire time you're watching this is what you want to feel watching a movie [Applause] hi my name is sheri silva and i am the choreographer of sing two yes my choreography process for sing two was i heard the song then i brought together a bunch of dancers with different styles they embodied my choreography and then the animators turned it into animation you know she's one of my favorite characters pleased to meet you i'm new she i'm his dance coach and i really love that hat because cats are flexible i had her doing flips and because knew she's so elastic i just wanted to push her as far as possible everyone wow mate you're amazing johnny is a very different character he's not as flexible as new she and he's not as confident as her as well come on johnny you can do better i'm trying but i also use that as motivation to really push him as far as possible come on [Music] creating the battle with klaus and johnny was really intense in the dance studio i really wanted to show the emotion when you see it in the animation you can see that intensity [Music] there's my boy i'm so excited people to see sing too you thought sing one was great hello sing two is about to take it to another level yeah that's more like this okay i got the tickets uh anyone seen this crawly here you go johnny here's yours i just convinced my husband to babysit for the next 24 hours and i'm not gonna waste an opportunity like that we're gonna put the show on whether crystal likes it or not but first we're gonna jump out that window what i'm beginning to like this guy listen you guys i have a dream of performing in red shore city since i was a little kid honestly this is going to be the greatest show i have ever made yeah big time baby i promise this is going to be the most wonderful the i mean the most fantastic show what are you doing with your face uh i was falling in love little guy you're here for the audition yeah yeah yes we are guys we're on right now got the robot activating piggy power and here she is the star of our show rosita that's you baby if you could just give me some dance lessons you would literally be saving my life how come you don't have a choreographer i do but it turns out it's a massive weirdo and how do i know that you're not a weirdo hmm come with me in rehearsal you whoa whoa whoa i'm not just gonna follow some guy i don't know to rehearsal well how else am i supposed to prove that i'm legit dream big dreams that's what i always said right it's time for people to get together and feel just joy joy friendship family connecting you can take your grandparents you could take your two-year-old it's one of those movies that should be seen with a group of people and sing out loud and dance in the aisles have some fun i think we all deserve it [Music] you
