Making ART with an EBAY MYSTERY BOX 🎄Arty Advent Day 12 🎄

[Music] hey everyone so in today's video i thought i would try making some art using an ebay mystery box I'm Canadian so I have to use eBay CA and it will show listings from eBay comm but only if that item ships to Canada and when I search this on eBay I see a this is the only mystery box that came up it says art supply mystery box but this is the only art related one I could find so this was my one option and I think it cost $48 so hopefully it's worth it it is quite heavy I don't know what's all in here I don't know it's a mix of art supplies and crafting supplies I have no clue but I'm gonna make art with whatever is in this box let me cut the tape it's cut open ah a little handwritten message it says dear Bailey thank you for your order hope you enjoy the surprises happy holidays and all the best in 2018 Thank You Tasha ah so cute ok so first up oh these are little gift tags for presents interesting and interesting they're cute these are cute alright what's next wouldn't that give some numbers here okay there's stencils here's a little picture of all the ones that are included in the stencils I don't know if I'll use those I could challenge myself to use everything in here but I feel like that might be a bit much ok next look at all this there's so much stuff oh wow and it's all wrapped I didn't get scammed I didn't get scammed oh that's cute this seems like more random than an art supply thing but yeah unless I guess if you make this into a craft you could like stick a picture on there on the back I don't know but yeah I guess we could use that to make something this feels like another one of the same things yes there is a second one it paper maybe should we'll slowly make it like crinkle awesome okay visa oh these are little plastic gift bags interesting oh god it's gonna be tricky man this is very crafty smiley face stickers Oh little self sealing bags oh cool look at the size that'd be cool for certainly like crappy things if I do conventions again I could put really small prints in there or run oh small button packs but something perfect print stack pad just like a little mini scrapbooking paper oh yeah oh that's cute there we go there's my cute okay okay I like that we have paper ooh feathers oh the birds still alive it's attacking me it's coming for revenge and here are a bunch of little labels what is this hopefully this crinkling isn't too loud I have a mic right here but I might have to use the camera mic if this is to crank away Oh glitter a bunch of silver glitter okay oh man Oh hmm huh what I'm gonna make with this oh my gosh look at this all that is nice it is it's like a messy thing that'd be cool to use with like Copic airbrush or something to make a texture like tape this down and airbrush it there's still a lot in here look look this is what we're looking at oh my gosh Wow okay Oh more glitter oh it's pink I'm gonna pink tinsel glitter yes yes some red glitter we could get very festive in here we can get very festive ribbon whatever I make him I have to wrap it at the inner Sony wrapping supplies all right all right I actually I just recently threw out a couple packs of these that I had - like blue and turquoise guys it was just like this one with the sequins and I threw it out I was like I'm out I got a robot this would be cool though I could glue things down and make something potentially I could possibly use that I thought there'd be more things in here like kids paint palette or like more art stuff not so much craft stuff so I'm gonna get extra creative here get some little hearts here couple more things in this same thing Oh clear string I already have clear string but this stuff comes in so handy so that's actually a neat addition literally oh they're little Valentine's Day stick on things more glitter type stuff it's like almost sequins but it's just like giant glitter and more glitter oh cool oh there's some jewelry findings here little little little says ring clasp is that the term the little spring-loaded ones and more glitter what is this the zoella advent calendar I like how it being wrapped it like maintains a mystery I can't just look in there and see what everything is more glitter we have enough glitter to like go full Ke$ha or something man what is this hole yes awesome I will definitely use this maybe adopted today it's craft I mean maybe I will but I used superglue a lot so good more ribbon hickeys are down there play you know the tissue paper there's a pink one and a purple one more sequin glitter oh my gosh we're gonna have to make something with glitter like what the sequins gluing them on or something I don't know there's so many sequins and so much glitter oh wow some beading stuff oh that's cool there's some of those things there's a couple packs of those Oh three free little packs little square beads more glittery rhinestone things oh my God look at this huge bag of rhinestones oh my gosh okay we have two more items two more more glitter and the last item okay tacky glue I have some other stuff already but that's a good item because and I can like specifically use this and the thing well I might use the one I already have opened would it be against the rules if I use this one instead of this one cuz this is already opened like why crack a seal when I already have one you know so probably is mine but it's equivalent it's the same brand it's even 25% more yeah so yeah bye was everything in the box like I said I wish it was more art stuff it was literally labeled as mystery art supplies box and crafting stuff is art supplies but I thought there'd be like maybe some cheap markers or a little paint palette or something that was more of an art supply not like ten pounds of glitter oh god this is more difficult than I thought yeah but you're not supposed to suck that can't sit on the printer tray there no it's pushed up yeah you can get the new you can get there go paint a tissue paper oh yes so funny so I decided to go with a wood canvas that I already had I was considering using the scrapbook paper flipping it backwards those white and sticking those gift tag stickers on the back to stick all the pieces together but I thought it nice if I had something more rigid and I also got the idea of doing a little collage with the pieces of paper instead so that's why I decided to use the canvas it was a shame that I didn't get more artsy supplies because I didn't want this to turn into another crafting video I wanted to make some kind of art piece out of it even if it did mean gluing things on here and there I still want it to be like a painting or something and so I did use a canvas that I already had and I did use the paint so I added those to this because I wanted something a little more interesting than just like a bunch of sequins and glitter all glued together for the background I used that tacky glue to stick down my pieces of paper and then I mixed some tacky glue with a bit of paint to give it some color and paint it over top of it to seal it and just to make the background a little darker [Music] then I use those big stencils to add a few icons to the background minus 1/8 and arrow a dollar sign and an @ sign in my mind it related a little bit to the whole technology and information theme of this also I apologize the camera is bouncing in and out I thought I set it to manual focus but I forgot to - like halfway through this video so I apologize for the annoying camera bounce in and out that's it trying to focus in and out which is really annoying I apologize I hate when I do that it's like my biggest pet peeve [Music] in my mind this robot lady is no longer active she's a broken robot recently stopped working and it's almost like there was this whole technological world where the technology just suddenly failed and all we were left with was nature when the machines stopped working all we have is nature I don't know it's kind of cheesy but it's just what I thought of when I was looking at everything looking at the feathers looking at all the glittery sequins all that gray and silver and made me think of a robot character so that's why I wanted to do that so she's just like a dead robot and then these birds just made a nest in her but she's newly dead she's not all rusty and gross she's kind of newly dead and nature is already taking over I don't know it sounds cool in my head but I can't explain it very well [Music] [Music] then I had to incorporate more of the crafty stuff so I put on a bunch of gemstones and beads stuff like that those little clasps are in there just to spruce it up and to use more of it I knew I would have to bust into some color I didn't want to add pink to the color scheme I really liked the brown and gray look but I knew I had to use more of the supplies so I took up the little pink beads and made them little screws on the robot and then I used some of the longer beads as eyelashes and then I used some glitter on the lips as well and I brought in some more color on the very top of the Hat just to give it more of that pink and use up more of the different types of sequins and glitter then I took some white pencils and colored around the birds just to help them pop a little more because they were kind of dark right on the dark background so the white just helped them pop a little bit more and that is it that is my creation I made from my eBay mystery box it's a little different but I hope you enjoyed it I tried to incorporate a lot of the supplies but also make it an actual painting so hope you enjoyed it and I'll see you guys tomorrow for another day of arty Advent [Music]

I really like it! Which is surprising cause I was so hesitant looking at the lack of "art" supplies she got. But she made it work :)
