Makers Tutorial Series - Episode 00: Get Started

hey what's up I'm Jason P I'm an industrial designer and I'm a maker just like you we put together this video series to get you started with solid works for makers this is the exact same software that I've used my entire career I'm also going to show you how I approach a real project and how to use these amazing tools to design create and make basically anything I'm here with a couple of my teammates Todd trout and Andy rer that's right Jason we want to make sure that you have all the basics down to get rolling the 3D experience platform is new to a lot of people so don't worry about that we're going to cover the key areas that you need so that you're comfortable and ready to start making stuff yeah and this is the same solid works that professionals use in Industry so you have all the power you need to make anything we made this video series you can jump around if you want to to start things off we'll show you what you see when you first log in and the easy install process plus some Basics to make a simple design solid works then we'll do a quick explanation on the basics of the platform which is really going to help you stay organized and manage your designs then like Jason mentioned we're going to walk through a full project with him which shows how many of these tools work together we'll even cover tools that'll help you render share and promote your designs so stick around we're going to have a lot of fun but bottom line is we're going to get you creating and making stuff right away
