in today's video we will reveal how daniel k performed an incredible escape trick and a card trick at the same time we will learn in detail how to perform the entire routine step by step let's do a quick rewind of what happened in the performance daniel k started off the performance by asking a randomly selected member of the studio audience to join him for his performance he pulled out a pair of thumb cuffs from his back pocket and said that he was going to try and escape with these thumb cuffs daniel k in order to prove the thumb cuffs were real asked the spectator to extend both of his thumbs so he can place the thumb cuffs over his thumbs and lock them tightly to prove that they were genuinely locking around his thumb daniel k then took out a napkin from inside his coat pocket placed it on top of the spectator's hand and counted to three on counting to three he took off the napkin and said that the spectator had escaped the thumb cuffs and then put the thumb cuffs back on he then once more placed the napkin on top of his hands and then took it off jokingly saying that the thumbs had magically changed colors he then took the keys of the thumb cuffs out of his pocket and unlocked the thumb cuffs to show that only the key can unlock the thumb cuffs daniel k then placed the key back into his left pocket he then invited alison to join him for his performance daniel k then asked her that in case he messes up the escape she should take the keys out of his left pocket and unlock his thumb cuffs he then pulled out a deck of cards and said that he is going to do two things at the same time he was going to perform an escape and a card trick at the same time daniel k then riffled through the deck and asked allison to say stop at any moment he then turned around and asked alison to show her selected card which was the six of hearts to the audience then asked her to push her card inside the deck allison mistakenly pushed the card inside the deck before daniel kay gave his instruction as to when to put the card inside the deck daniel k then realizing that he had messed up the card trick said that now he was only going to do the escape trick and placed the card box with the deck inside opened on top of allison's hand and then the napkin in the other hand daniel k then asked the first spectator to fasten the thumb cuffs around his thumbs tightly once his thumbs were cuffed he closed the open card box's flap he then asked the first spectator to cover his thumb cuffed hands with a napkin then suddenly somehow daniel k took his right thumb out of the thumb cuffs and pointed to the deck asking the first spectator to take the deck of cards in a moment he then asked the first spectator before he takes the deck to take off the napkin from his hands and amazingly he was still thumb cuffed daniel k once again asked the first spectator to cover his hands with the napkin and with the excuse of adjusting the napkin he amazingly took his right hand once again out of the thumb cuffs once he had adjusted the napkin with his right hand he took his left hand out of the thumb cuffs reached for his left coat pocket and took out the keys of the thumb cuff and handed it to the first spectator to hold on to it to prove that he wasn't using the keys to escape the thumb cuffs daniel k then said that he was going to find the card in the blink of an eye he then waved his thumb cuffed hands underneath the napkin over the closed card box and said that it was already done daniel k then asked alison to open the card box and take out everything that was inside amazingly the card box did not have a single card inside but instead contained the thumb cuffs he then asked the first spectator to take off the napkin from his hands to reveal that a card was punched in between his two thumbs upon turning the card over daniel k showed that it was in fact allison's selected card which was the six of hearts spoiler alert if you accidentally clicked on this down to how this trick work we will break the trick into three phases in the first phase we will discuss how daniel k escaped the thumb cuffs from underneath the napkin in the second phase we will discuss how the thumb cuffs vanished from his hands and at the same time how the cards vanished from the card box and were replaced with the thumb cuffs inside the card box in the third phase we will discuss how the thumb cuffs that were fastened on daniel kaye's thumbs were magically replaced with alison's selected card now before we discuss the three phases let's see what pen had to say about daniel kay's performance this act is so perfect i don't want to give slightest crack i don't want anybody at home to go oh i know me now i know what he did now i want this to just live on as a jewel and perfect well after listening to what penn had to say about the performance we can clearly see that penn does not want any of us to figure out how he did this incredible trick so it looks like it's up to us to figure out the most logical method to perform this trick let's begin by discussing the first phase of the performance before he started off the performance he initially asked the spectator to fasten the thumb cuffs around his thumbs to prove that they were in fact genuinely working thumb cuffs and were not gimmicked in any way daniel k asked the spectator to prove to the audience that the thumb cuffs were real by trying to escape the thumb cuffs by pulling it in the opposite direction with his thumbs once daniel k had proved that the thumb cuffs were not gimmicked in any way he unlocked the thumb cuffs with the key and placed the key in his left pocket he then had alison select any playing card by riffling through the deck and then asked her to place the selected card back inside the deck he then placed the deck back inside the card box and handed it over to alison to hold it in her hand daniel k then asked the first spectator to tightly fasten the thumb cuffs around both of his thumbs he then asked the spectator to cover his hands with the napkin amazingly he pulled his right thumb out of the thumb cuff while pointing to the deck in allison's hand and asking the spectator to pick up the deck he then placed his right hand under the napkin and asked the spectator to remove the napkin to prove that he was in fact still thumb cuffed daniel k then once again asked the spectator to cover his thumbs with the napkin and with the excuse of adjusting the napkin he once again took his right thumb and then took his left thumb out of the thumb cuffs and reached for the key inside his left pocket which he then handed over to the first spectator to show that he was not using the keys to escape well since penn did not bother to give any hints to us at home to help figure out to how the trick was done it is now up to us to brainstorm logical methods as to how not only to escape the thumb cuffs but to be able to fasten the thumb cuffs around his thumbs so instantly without any obvious nor fishy movements upon initially brainstorming logical methods as to how he may have escaped the thumb cuffs we may guess that he has a hairpin inside his cuffs which he secretly takes out under the cover of the napkin in order to help him quickly unlock the thumb cuff upon thinking about it we may think that this really could be the possible method as to how daniel k escaped the thumb cuffs under the napkin since magicians are knowing to be skilled enough to pick locks with everyday objects including hair pins and paper clips although this method may seem very possible but something doesn't add up here the reason something doesn't add up here is because i want you to take note of how silent the background is by silence in the background i mean that there is no background music to hide any sort of sounds the reason i brought this point up is because when daniel k was unlocking the thumb cuffs of the spectator's thumbs and also the moment he was fastening the thumb cuffs around his thumbs there was a lot of noise coming from the locking mechanism of the thumb cuffs which you can hear right at these moments [Music] this means that even though our initial guess may be very logical but due to the noise factor we cannot consider that method as the exact method that daniel k used to escape the thumb cuffs now upon further brainstorming we realize that we have no clue of how this works i will now explain the most logical method of how daniel k performed his incredible escape you see the secret to escaping the thumb cuffs lies in exactly how the thumb cuffs are fastened around your thumbs in the first place now you may be wondering that the thumb cuffs were in fact tightly fastened onto daniel kaye's thumbs by the spectator himself then how exactly could daniel k have any control over how tightly the thumb cuff is fastened around his thumbs i want you to take note of what daniel k does the moment he asked the spectator to fasten the thumb cuffs as tight as he can don't worry about my life well you see when you squeeze your thumb it restricts the blood flow towards your thumb as a result your thumb's radius enlarges which makes the thumb thicker than its normal size now when daniel k asked the spectator to close the thumb cuff as tightly as he can he was only limited to a small space as to how far he can fasten the thumb cuff in simpler words the thumb cuffs are actually not tightly fastened around his thumb because of his thickness of thumb increasing by squeezing it as a result when he loosens his thumb there is a gap between the thumb cuffs and his thumb and under the cover of the napkin he simply slips the thumb out from under the thumb cuff also take note that the spectator only fastened his right thumb and did not fasten his left thumb inside the thumb cuff as a result his left thumb was already loose inside the thumb cuffs and he only had to do this clever technique for his right thumb now let's discuss the second phase of the performance as to how the thumb cuffs vanished from his thumbs and at the same time how the entire deck of cards vanished from the card box and were replaced with the thumb cuffs now before i reveal the most logical method as to how he performed this amazing teleportation trick i want you to take note of this important moment during daniel kaye's performance usually holiness don't like the car tricks forget the car thanks give me this notice the moment daniel k acts as if he messed up the card trick he turns to his right side for a quick moment and does something fishy inside his right pocket you see at this moment daniel k actually did a playing card box switch in order to perform the switch daniel k put the original playing card box that had cards inside into his right pocket and took a gimmicked playing card box out of his right pocket this gimmicked playing card box is designed in a pretty clever way now you may be wondering how exactly could that box have been gimmicked since that box that he placed on alison's hand clearly had a deck of cards inside it as you can see right here at this moment well you see this is how the playing card box is gimmicked this playing card box looks like a normal playing card box but it actually has two flaps the first flap that is on top of the playing card box is the original flap but the second flap is actually right under the top flap and is entirely covered with white paper this white paper looks like the short side of a deck of cards as a result it creates the illusion of a deck of cards inside at once to reveal the thumb cuffs inside now that you understand how exactly the thumb cuffs appeared inside the playing card box you may be wondering how exactly the thumb cuffs vanished from under the napkin well you see i want you to take note of the second important moment you can see right at this moment while he reaches for his left pocket to take out the keys he actually took out the thumb cuffs off both of his thumbs and placed it into his left pocket now let's discuss the third phase of the performance and reveal how alison's selected card appeared punched inside daniel kaye's thumbs you see in the beginning of the performance when daniel k asked allison to select a card he basically did a dribble force on allison to make her select the six of hearts now that you know how daniel k forced the six of hearts onto allison the remaining part of the trick is easier to explain now you see daniel k had a duplicate of the six of hearts the duplicate was hidden under his cuffs since his hands were covered with a napkin he easily took that six of hearts from inside his cuffs once he had the six of hearts in his hands he punched a hole with his thumb through the card by applying force
