hello from iowa this is zach campbell coming to you from the mlb field of dreams game and i am so pumped because this is an official major league game yankees vs white sox so this officially goes on my stadiums list this will be my 61st major league baseball stadium and i've gotten at least one baseball at the other 60. so no pressure right gotta get at least one now there's so much to see and do and talk about i'm gonna try to cover everything for starters follow me this way because we're out here in this sort of parking lot parking field kind of thing you can probably see the cars off in the distance some porta potties and over this way you can see a whole bunch of people because they opened up the parking lot at 2pm but they're not letting anybody onto the premises until 3 pm so we're gonna go back this way for a moment and over my shoulder you can see the field of dreams movie site so looking forward to checking that out and then getting over to the stadium that they constructed especially for this event so just for right now one more thing gotta give some quick love to chevrolet i'm collabing with them on this video they've hooked me up in a big way i'll talk more about that later but yeah let's just experience this together and soak it in truly amazing let's do it [Music] [Music] you look amazing i look hot [Music] unbelievable to finally be here at the field of dreams movie site i figured i'd get here someday but i wasn't sure when and obviously now is the time so i just love all this activity the vibes are off the charts and batting practice is about to begin so why don't you actually follow me around this way because there's a pretty cool sign next to the corn and let's just disappear on in there [Music] and there's the stadium right over that way yeah i wish i had time to do that corn maze but i gotta go catch some baseballs guys i'm sorry gotta go catch some balls [Music] all right so here's what it looked like behind the seats very unusual setup and i was really eager to spring into action now obviously i was excited to be here but from a ball catching perspective i knew it was going to be tough first of all it was already crowded along the left field foul line and there was lots of competition second i could not get down next to the field and third there was no seating in the outfield or even down the right field foul line so where the hell was i supposed to go without any chance of catching a batted ball over to the first base side to beg for a toss-up and watch helplessly as the white sox took batting practice at least i had a good view of the corn thanks to the see-through outfield wall and i did love the old-timey looking scoreboard very nice job by major league baseball to make this little ballpark look so cool and hey check out what happened next yes here it is thank you all right well that's definitely a cheapo way to get on the board but it counts as i've said for 30 years baseballs from stadium employees do go toward the grand total so with this baseball i'm now 61 for 61 getting at least one ball at every major league stadium i've been to and yeah this spot on the first base side i officially declared to be dead i might leave here in a bit but uh yeah glad to have this one all right now that i am on the board i'm going to try something a little crafty i'm going to see if i can get into the corn and maybe try to find some home run balls that have landed there i just saw a few fans that seem to be walking around in there i saw one through the outfield wall from over on the first base side so if they're doing it i might as well try it this might officially be crazy but i'm gonna see what might be over here if anything [Music] and let's pause it right here i found myself right behind the outfield wall but that was stadium security telling some other fans to leave so i made a u-turn and headed back up now for the record there were no signs telling people not to enter the corn and in fact one employee on the gravel path had actually encouraged me to give it a shot but it was muddy in certain spots and hard to move left and right between the stalks and i just didn't feel good about the whole thing so that was it back to the path and back to the seats on the first base side i still had no idea where to go and it seemed that yankee's first baseman luke voigt was also confused no one to throw the ball to luke i'll take it finally i did get another opportunity rob brantley threw this one to me i made a nice little jumping catch and after climbing back up over a row to show it to the camera i offered it to the nearest kid in case you can't tell it was hot and very humid and i was a sweaty mess but you know what that's actually an expert level ball hawking strategy if you sweat enough and end up smelling really bad people won't want to crowd around you and you'll have more space to catch baseballs also in case you can't tell that's a joke please don't do this and look it doesn't work anyway here's yankee's manager aaron boone being interviewed and do you see who's standing in the middle here yes folks this is some ultra rare footage of aaron judge bunting here's john carlos stanton taking his cuts phil nevin hitting fungos me standing around aimlessly some more and feeling frustrated about the whole setup but to be clear i was having fun and look here's rob brantley trying to hook me up again unfortunately this one fell short and i couldn't get to it but check out our unofficial sign language right here it seemed like he was going to try again and sure enough he grabbed another baseball and chucked it in my direction so that's my third baseball of the day and i just want to point out there are no commemorative baseballs here i was already told that during the game they will not be using them so often when there is a special ball during a game you'll still get regular balls during bp but evidently tonight it's just the mlb logo on all the baseballs which if that's true i mean maybe mlb has a little surprise in store but if it is true that is a huge shame but you know glad to get one more well that's it for batting practice and sure enough it was a struggle throughout i was pleasantly surprised to get a couple of toss-ups from the yankees and i got to give a huge thank you to one of the newer members on the team rob brantley who's been very cool to me in the past and threw me two baseballs today now right after bp ended i left the stadium i walked along that gravel path all the way out to the field of dreams movie site and that's kind of where i am right now you can see the major league stadium way off in the distance the stands are full this place holds eight thousand people and it feels like twenty thousand it's so crowded but anyway the reason that i'm over here is if you follow me this way fenway chris behind the camera there is a big chevy display right here and chevy has partnered with celebrity chef guy fieri to create a new food item which i personally am very excited to eat it's called an apple pie hot dog i love the sweet and savory combo they're giving them out for free but before i eat one i have to give a little more love to chevy because like i said at the very beginning they hooked me up in a huge way in addition to giving me tickets to the game they provided me with a 2021 tahoe to drive here to dyersville and as you can see there is a ton of storage space so i can't help but wonder how many baseballs this thing can hold you can see the massive interior right here shout out to fenway chris for enthusiastically driving us to iowa and while he was behind the wheel i checked out the entertainment center and relaxed with some soothing tunes of course we took a few minutes out of our day to do this and you know also to breathe that fresh midwest air so got to give a shout out to iowa itself for being so beautiful and chill and so i can't wait to try this apple pie hot dog you guys probably most people who watch are too young to remember but there was a very corny but also catchy jingle that chevy used in an advertising campaign going back to the 70s it went something like this ready we love baseball hot dogs apple pie and chevrolet fenway chris behind the camera you want to sing it with me baseball hot dogs apple pie and chevrolet so you know they're bringing it back basically um yeah so let's go eat and then get back over to the stadium for a very cool pregame ceremony [Music] thank you thank you all right fieri this better be good oh yeah all right nice i'll go pick up that in all seriousness i love this yeah like i said the sweet and the savory hits the spot yeah i'm having seconds [Music] [Applause] forgive me for talking during this portion of the video but without my voice here all this music would lead to a copyright strike on youtube and we don't want that so let me just say that field of dreams is my favorite baseball movie of all time and i'm a huge fan of kevin costner and this whole pregame ceremony with the players emerging from the corn was perfect and what made this whole day so special for me and i'm sure for so many other people is that the magic of the movie came to life the fantasy became reality and i will always cherish that anyway let's hear some words from the man himself [Applause] good afternoon 30 years ago 30. on the other side of that corn we filmed a movie that stood the test of time [Music] tonight thanks to that enduring impact that that little movie had it's allowed us to come here again this field is for the players good luck today [Applause] [Music] leading off the shortstop tim anderson [Applause] mary [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh haven't seen joey [Applause] jose abreu with a bullet of a home run into the corn to put the white socks on top one to nothing right now we're in the top of the second and look at this carpeted walkway interesting setup here you would think having this much space to run for a ball would be great but this stadium is too damn small there's been a few foul balls already that have shot completely over the grandstand the area behind is off limits it's employees only i saw some security guards racing each other for a foul ball in the first inning so i don't know that i like my chances here might wander a bit want to catch up with the chevy people they're over on the third base side but you know even if i don't catch another baseball all night and why don't we just do a 180 so you can see what it looks like down the line here just what a spectacular event as luke voight [Applause] strikes out so uh you see how this goes i'll make behind it okay thank you so much so i'll see you in like a couple years when you're another two feet taller and we'll take another picture thank you hey the greatest line in all of movies right there is this heaven thank you thanks again nice seeing you again [Applause] oh [Music] oh [Applause] 13. [Applause] we officially have a slugfest here tonight eloy jimenez going yard and then sebby zavala third inning fourth inning and so right now it's seven to three white sox in the bottom of the fourth and for just a moment i am here in my official ticketed seat but i cannot be contained for too long i've got to give a shout out by the way to kyle from chevy thanks for hooking this up yeah kyle and hello to everybody in the background what's up guys yes we got a party here in section 12. you guys want to say hi to youtube hey what's up there it is so uh yeah i'm waiting for just the third out i don't know if it's gonna happen with tim anderson up he's pretty good but uh everybody wants to get in on this video so uh i think i may be getting some insane access in just a little bit so we'll see how this plays out well as promised i have gotten some crazy access indeed i'm out here behind the grandstand on the first base side on this service road which is totally not open to fans thanks to this guy named bradley who works here at field of dreams i actually ran into him at target field what was that like a month ago yeah so my man thank you you're welcome you want to tell everybody quickly what you do here yeah i work at the field of dreams here i've been working here all summer i do operations here at the field and i'm also the field specialist here so any time to ch to chat with zach and hook him up i'd love to i've been watching his videos for a long time so it's an awesome opportunity out here man thank you so much i wish i'd been out here since the start because i'd probably have about half a dozen foul balls so i think it's like the sixth inning at this point so still some opportunities to catch some a little tough to see it dust but as it gets darker we'll hopefully see some white specks against the black sky song won't go up it's getting dark quickly so that's a good thing the braves up yeah fenway chris has gone inside the stadium and he's about to get a shot of me from up in the walkway so here's what i look like from up there oh here it is come on reach reach reach oh man [Applause] well that was officially a bummer i was out there for three full innings and not one baseball came out i'm telling you in the first five innings of the game i think 10 flew out of the stadium so luck just wasn't on my side the timing was not on my side you can see you know they are still playing and the score by the way is white sox 7 yankees 4 right now in the bottom of the eighth so that's the situation [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] yes holy sh what a game after the yankees scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to take the lead tim anderson blasted a walk-off homer to right field in the bottom of the ninth that is truly the stuff that dreams are made of and what better place to do it that final long ball was one of eight that were hit tonight including two by aaron judge brett gardner went yard so did giancarlo stanton and for chicago jose abreu eloy jimenez sevi zavala and then of course tim anderson deposited baseballs into the corn wish i could have been out there somehow it pisses me off that plants caught more baseballs than i did today but what a magical experience overall final score in the first ever major league baseball game in iowa white sox nine yankees eight and as for me well it was tough to get baseballs but i got three on the board and so like i mentioned earlier i am now 61 for 61 in snagging baseballs at major league stadiums of the three this is the only one that i'm keeping this was the first of the day just nice to take home one memento for myself and man this was i mean i'm almost speeches i got chills i think a double-digit number of times today i always try to get a double-digit number of baseballs but i got double-digit chills starting over at the field of dreams movie site and just walking around through the corn seeing kevin costner in person ah my head is going to explode right now and another huge huge thank you to chevrolet for providing this experience to me again the tickets the automobile putting me up in a hotel as well in davenport shout out to iowa again so yeah they were amazing and you guys who've watched this entire video you're amazing too and also i should have mentioned this earlier but if you like this t-shirt check out zachcampbell.com merch you can get one of these for yourself uh lifetime baseball total including the three 11 563 and uh that's it yeah um i think uh i'm driving back to chicago tomorrow my next video i think will be these same two teams playing at guaranteed rate field so the grind continues anyway again thanks for watching i'm out and much love to the universe [Music] you
