How to Mackerel fish, so first of  all you need feathers and a weight   and you need a rod, a longish rod usually the  mackrel shows can be pretty far out sometimes   they'll come into the harbor pretty deep  once they're way in there but they're usually   quite far out near the entrances of harbors...  i'll get on that subject in a second... so   here we have 20 pound line anything between  15 and 30 sounds good anything under 15 is   way too light especially if you're fishing places  with seaweed and rocks and all of that stuff and   um anything over 30 is probably too thick  unless it's braid which can be pretty thin   and uh you need some feathers so let me show  you that in detail so feathers are basically   just shiny stuff and small hooks yeah this is the  size of hook that i'd use for blennies and gobies   so um small hooks don't keep the hooks too  big and it won't fit into their mouth and you   can see that the barbs aren't too big still  quite small then you need a weight usually   a big weight like this depending on how light your  rod is obviously um you can have as many feathers   as you want but if it's too long it's hard to cast  here i have a lot of feathers and it's pretty hard   to get further out but since the mackerel in  the harbor today just in the entrance it's okay that's not very far but anyway... so you're reeling a good rhythm there's quite a beat to it, you can't stop don't take breaks so see that reeling in a good pace there... swiping  sideways and um make sure not to get or anything and what it does is that it  kind of makes your feathers go   up and down and it agitates your feathers  and it kind of makes the mackerel just go for it we're releasing our little  mackerel so let's put him back wow   i have um another mackerel so far i think  we have between 20 and 30 mackerel   they're quite big there's quite  a few big ones um i'll show you   but um i'm keeping them i missed a conger eel earlier but look at those they are big   there are a few really big ones... so i'm basically  all i'm doing with them... i'm taking them i'm just *SMACK*  ...and they're dead when they gape their mouthes  like this they're well dead even if they're   shivering and moving means they're dead when their  mouth is open like that so anyway put them back   into the bag so in the end um turns out we have i  think about over 30 because cuz we used three as bait   and released quite a few small ones so in total we  caught quite a few mackerel today, this is really   what summer is like but today is pretty calm, it's  okay but, it's really grey but loads of mackerel   around there's quite a few around, now i think it's  died down a bit but um yeah that was a good days   of mackerel so thanks for watching like and subscribe  for more and um yeah see you in the next video
