okay for the record this is the chow hall at Butler range 30 miles east of Baghdad today is the 10th of July 2004 and I'm going to document army chow temperature is about 115 it's the coolest day it's been since I've been here we're getting up in here so we're gonna go inside in a minute you're good to see what army chow in the middle of freakin hell is like hey Scott today's documentary is on army chow chow what's your opinion of army chow sometimes good time it's bad how about the army chow here how would you rate it in comparison to other Armijo's how would I rate it yes scale one to ten sure about you two maybe a 100 I had tried to leather and that includes California and Fort Lewis in that scale Roger that in California that said California wasn't bad was it bad second time sucked but the first ones better all right first one is really bad this one is even worse than the first one yeah this even Fort Lewis beat this place yet for those definitely beat this place it's places I think what happens is so hot that all the water weight and the food just melts up and you eat a dry piece 11 that's about what it tastes like didn't it does and toriel baseball games yeah yeah today old baseball cubes are awesome yes sir satellites a little bit off that is the best part all right let's go say all right Scott lead the way we launched her hands and throw weapons from Zeppelin into the chow hall we go we got for dinner our gentle that's backwards as a cardboard tray you can tell it's just extremely like hamburger and hot dog buns it's on the main line tonight our mystery meat mystery meat well we're gonna go with some mystery actually it look like it's our other option more mystery meat dissection effect uh barbecued ribs we got slimy brown and dry brown I go to slimy looks like that teriyaki boy she had potatoes in order to get those potatoes that serve them every night this week actually it's a part of dinner I'm good there that's dinner dinner all right let's go over to the condom in line shall we on the vine right loaves of bread blueberry muffins from six days ago morning you played baseball with those two the story about the guy who got knocked out is there a cadence about that oh definitely Coco is chocolate-chip cookies those aren't as good as the cookies in Baghdad I'll tell you that they're not these are really hard so those are the crispy crunchy ones crispy crunchy chocolate cookies and we'll show you there in a moment the way the cookie I know you've all seen the movie Zeus Almighty that's the way that he is getting the sky let's continue cereal for every meal that is the best part about this place right now is not forget our power bar it's commercial correct I'll take a good still of that and fax into the car of our people barbecue ribs the table syrup table so nothing goes better with my turkey ribs in table syrup I like it on potatoes myself the Vita's after you got slim jim calm Slim Jim then we steal a whole crate of those yesterday I think we did yeah see that's what happened to me child these boxes that saw her orange juice is orange juice but that could really be just better than last time they said orange juice it was hot water they try wizards hot water when it's here it's kind of orange that's more watery at that beauty I know with dialog stuff myself very watery let's go to the other side grape juice it could be just about anything a purple liquid of some sort okay that is definitely grape juice looks like it has no water added well it's just straight concentrate let's see here oh yeah that's it we're so high viscosity very high viscosity who's out we're gonna kind of get a little more food sir you're gonna have to leave I got you I got you on tape now this is gonna show up in front of a congressional hearing guys know about yeah see he's training he's learning from the best he wants this job in the worst way let's see what's in the fridge the bridge this bridge is my favor we're gonna skip Scott because we know what a hell he's going that's the orange juice bridge that's the best part about this channel - the near beer at the bottom that nobody's drank it because it's some [ __ ] brand it's pretty close yes back from Cory that was a bad idea yeah no I know good this thing yeah no I have to haul at all and it just tastes now humility per person you got every kind of milk there is we got your this is my favorite banana banana most Madame OH we got regular I couldn't even thought this up man this is this is like low-fat no for something that dream after dream which yeah which means that it they cooled it off after it came out with a goat we got well of course you can tell the chocolate chocolate no those two talking about for for dinner just does I think I know a corn juice myself or just might be a little old see that's right get out of the box now we have a soda fridge there's generally two to three choices it's other strawberry I'm guessing okay this is my prediction I haven't seen it yet I'm gonna go with strawberry or sprite rice it's in a fact oh yes I might go for a bit there strawberry sprayed in there that mean you get one of these Oh looks like we're both right let's see sprite Diet Coke down there strawberry strawberry I haven't seen coca days you gotta find that every goes to Podesta my favorite is the owner and this is even diet cola light maybe really ingredients I can't a little black glass that's been working on his air but nobody can make a civilian shooting a pastor in Scotts Arabic water fridge it's a very necessity here he does whose independence I don't know this don't come off let's interview man on the street excuse me sir what do you think of the army job I see you've chosen the the dry Brown I'm sending this to your mom rock well that looks like Saturn a lot this our first Saturday

My dad was stationed in Alaska during the cold war. He told me how they were not allowed to hunt to feed their platoon.. but they'd get around that by trading certain shit that Inuit didn't have access to.. for actual game meat. He gazed off in the distance telling me how good the campfire roasted elk was after having basically the same canned slop for weeks.. what was crazy is one of the guys with him had never seen an animal butchered and his stomach was turned at the thought. More for my dad I guess.
