Louisville Attic Ladder Install With One Person (EASY)

all right today I bought myself an attic ladder no longer fussing with mother ladders freaking out whenever I had to get in the attic which is quite frequently i got a milos which is going out of business my local one and it's only 124 dollars I got today we're gone 83 it's a what will be the ladder with bands guest:this in the system it's a whim ladder for stealing heights 7 foot 9 to 10 foot 3 and mine is 9 9 feet tall so let's go ahead and try to get installed before I pick up the boys [Music] alright so this is the area where I'm installing it and opening for this particular model it should be 22 and a half it's just wide by 54 inches long these are D 22 22 and a half inches wide because that's that's our space Freud forges and let's go ahead [Music] line across I'm also gonna have to cut this set out it's nailed in to use the saws oughta slice to the nails [Music] [Music] [Music] major from one corner to the alright we're square alright I'll be using screws these are like torques 27 size head I'm freezing screws over nails just because it's easier to remove them with you screw set them up which I of course never deal with now we'll see if I could get this up there [Music] this says you need to pee hey let's screw this in temporarily [Music] I also put this rope the hole here tie a knot on the end and then that's where you gotta use to pull it open all right now it's slower in place all right all right so screw it in right there right there the two of them over here okay let's see if I can get down [Music] all right now we are going to grill in some of these lag screws here for in the front this header and then two on both the left and right side and apparently there's nuts on the back but first we need to so if you can't see on this side but there's actually a light box right here so I'm not gonna use this pre-drill for now but it just so if you didn't know you don't just want to do one shot you could avoid it to two shims parallels that way it's nice and flat no matter how thick it is [Music] it's got sick of an heir to the first leg screw it but here's my [Music] [Music] [Music] should have shipped these before I pre gildo [Music] [Music] what is that man who get up here yeah [Music] any gift you can get up here buddy it's kind of warm up here actually you come up here should I do this one-handed and remove your little backing strips there's actually three on the side three on the side four on the front so I've got two more so I'm in kind of the big amount right now because get to last holes are going that one there I went over there and I can't go on straight if I was to do it it has to go on that angle I don't really want that other option is to manly wrench it in in my big wrench this thing fell out and so this is the biggest one I have it as much leverage for going through a 2x4 but rather have it straight so let's give this a try first [Music] [Music] fortunately this arm is going to go this arm here comes off your case doesn't have the retaining clip in a washer guess that my period applies in the washer they don't wear all I can easily be one of those just kind of a bummer though I had one of those let's check all right now let's see if I sell with some type of upside down or something craziness [Music] ladies and gentlemen have a ladder you guys it's the length but [Music] looking good and as you can see to be very lucky if they came in the box needed so to make this the right size [Music] Gavin straight down just on the straight edge can take two measurements one from this side straight down until touches the ground so this would be over 30 bottom side right here yeah not exact but I'm just to get the idea again I'm not gonna use this measurement but roughly 330 and a half take that measurement first this is the one I just use 30 and a half so 30 and a half down this side make a mark and then this one was uh I think 30 and 3/4 all the way down make a mark so it's gonna make an angle it's guess it flat and perfectly that's made [Music] all right done cutting it and it's it's perfectly even if it didn't it wouldn't be the biggest weight on it it's gonna sit flush so there's decent margin reliable margin of error there all right there you have it one person installed the attic ladder nice and easy hope you enjoyed and I'll see you around
