welcome to a new episode of Chez Team I am Chilu I am Eze and today and today we are going to do a new activity that if you want to know what it is about you will have to stay in the video because it is not snorkeling, nor is it diving it is another very different thing so stay and watch it to find out welcome to a new episode of Chez Team I am Chilu and I am Eze for 5 years we traveled through South America in our motorhome that we built with our own hands and that we raffled off on January 1, 2024 to buy a boat and go around the world we invite you to join us on this new adventure it is impeccable it is impeccable people yesterday we made a very important decision finally after seeing several boats we are going to bid on one of the boats we saw it is a little less price than They ask why we don't get to that little money, I hope it turns out, if it turns out great and if it turns out we continue in the search and cross our fingers command? What a moment. Yes, send, he already answered , he says... let's see what he says, come on, no, because I'm trying to decipher it without opening it, you saw that if I give him it's obvious that he said no pi , start with... don't take it the wrong way, let's see what he says , maybe They can obviously improve it well, he said that the offer is low and that's as far as we got, so well that's it but eh... we didn't expect any other response than this but it was very cool and it leaves the door open for us to offer something a a little more and yes no it's not that he told us no guys it's very far away, forget it leave the door open yes yes yes obviously well let's see what we do nothing eh... nothing, just keep looking at boats it's fine, maybe if he responded so quickly it was good cool well it doesn't matter this we will tell you as follows yes open the door... open the window... no, nothing opens close a window and we continue searching yes, yes, yes THE NEXT DAY... a new day of adventure begins And this is going to be an extreme adventure , but it's not going to be an extreme adventure today, it's going to be tomorrow, but since it's far away, we're going to go out today, we're going to tour part of the island, in fact, we're going to go to the other end of the island. island for the first time we are going to go so far the craziest thing is that so far we are talking about a hundred and some kilometers it does not reach two hundred two hours two hours, two hours of travel and we have already traveled from end to end of the island the thing is Today we are going to Cabo Rojo and tomorrow we are going to do an extreme adventure to Aguadilla, the other end. The point is that we are going to do the second part of our freediving course. We are super excited, because it is something we have wanted to do for a long time in truth, it was something that we were going to learn on our own , that is, I had that intention of... of learning with tutorials on YouTube because in truth it is dangerous, it is not that complicated, it requires a lot of practice and mental control, eh, and certain techniques, it is quite technical but they are techniques that one can learn, that is, on one's own, the issue is that it can be dangerous so it is good to take a course, it is good to do it assisted, it is good to do it with an instructor who knows and who I'll tell you tips that you probably won't find out from someone else through other means and even each person reacts very differently to water, so it is very important that someone helps you and assists you to see that you can progress easily and that it is within the safe limit because the truth is which is much more complex than we imagined, in fact I think we had underestimated it a little. Let's see, we know that it can be dangerous if you don't do it right, this is clear, but well, we never thought of going over the safety limit, even so. It's true that the theory class we did is really good. We found it super super interesting and informative MOMENTS LATER , although there are many people who do freediving on their own, that is, by their means, they learn, in fact, I did freediving on my own before, but very badly, that is, I was never going to progress too much, I did it that way with people I knew who did and they gave me a couple of tips and nothing more and I never reached more than five meters and it was difficult for me to compensate and there are many technical things that are great to learn well in order to be able to progress more, that is, to take a course It helps you to take it to a much more professional level, that is, to learn it much better and the progress is much faster because it is a reality that many people do freediving but it is rare for them to reach more than 10, 15 meters, perhaps some very thick ones reach 20 well so we are very happy to have the opportunity to do this course with Alex who is a genius apart from that National champion from here in Puerto Rico in freediving is very rude, apart from the theoretical class that we did with him everything What we learned, how interesting it was much more than we would have imagined and goes beyond an extreme sport, it's more like a... a way of life a lifestyle no, I'm not going to tell you a religion but well a therapy, something I don't know, it is very connected with the mind, with meditation with breathing, with being one with oneself it has a lot of stages that they are, it is impressive, the truth is that it is super interesting, and we are going to try transmit them to you in this chapter and in these days so that you really know what it's about because one thinks... apnea seems to underestimate it, as in fact we have underestimated it or it hasn't even been underestimated, we simply don't... we don't internalize that much No on the subject , due to lack of knowledge one thinks that it is holding one's breath, I submerge and nothing more and the reality is that there is a whole technique behind it to precisely hold one's breath longer, to breathe better because one thinks and takes in a lot of air when doing so ready but no. To submerge many meters because your ears also hurt, so there is a way to make them not hurt and this is compensation for what Chilu said. There are techniques to submerge because, for example, a problem that happens to me is that it is very difficult for me to submerge because I am very light, I float a lot, well there are techniques for that there are techniques for everything and the truth is that it is very good so we are not going to tell you anything and well hopefully we also see sharks sharks and things like that this is the part that I don't like It amuses Ezequiel so much. We are doing what would be crossing the mountain range to go from the north of the island to the south of the island. It is a mountain pass so it is very nice because it is super green. We are going to Cabo Rojo, which is not our final destination where we are going to do freediving because first we are going to visit Omar and Musie who, well, they are going to receive us at their house and they are going to show us the place a little. You probably know them from the previous episode, or from the previous one with them we did some navigations to Culebra and Caja de Muertos and now we are going to explore a little bit of Cabo Rojo A WHILE LATER we arrived at the sea again we reached the sea on this side of the island that we had not seen, we already arrived at Cabo Rojo, punctually at Belvedere we are now We just met again with Omar and Mucie, you are in Beldevere in Cabo Rojo, what peace this place transmits, a lot of peace, the incredible calm, incredible, very beautiful, this palm grove here is a dream, what beautiful palm trees , I don't know if you see the little stripes there that you see . Like the path of the ones, they're not really ants, that's like a kind of anthill, a kind of termite, I don't know if it's a kind of termite, but... it's like a parasite, it's actually different from the ant, it's like a larvita. that eats the tree until it kills it and with what it eats from the tree, that is, it eats wood, it builds this one like a kind of anthill and makes all these little paths inside the bark, but then it seems to be because it eats the bark , but well, then all those are built up like scabs. .. of dry bark that are falling off because the impressive tree is dying, look at everything full of little paths, impressive, everything in this tree has little life left, poor thing, the scientific name, I don't know , but the Creole name is Comejen Comejen is called the little bug, Let's see if we can see it, we'll show you the truth is that the creatures we saw on this trail were super curious, from insects that parasitize the trees to small crabs that were everywhere, look how big it is, a lot of them are hermits and they are like a family, you saw As if the little ones and the big ones are eating something, look at that snail, how crazy is it going to your foot? Chilu , let it climb, okay? Isn't it going to bite me? no it doesn't sting there yes eh look how cute this one goes up it goes up it's impressive those snails are big and have very strange shapes a paradise and that's how this very, very nice day ends and tomorrow the great adventure is coming so here we are going to tell you count a little more A WHILE LATER that's Chilu's expression after that he left me they left me frozen they just brought me the dish look here come two more here come two more no no this place I haven't tried it but I already know I'm recommending Jakemate no, no, tremendous, I can't believe this presentation, thank you, the presentation and the size look, I don't know how I'm going to eat this ha ha, look, it's going to be complicated , how delicious, no, very good . I congratulate the truth, no, I hope you love it, I congratulate you, it's what we call floreada with seafood in an exquisite cream liqueur sauce , no, thank you very much, the dedication you put into the dishes was noticeable, incredible , no, we try to make all the dishes turn out like this. everyone thank you thank you very much impressive people I don't know when I'll see you again because it seems to me that I disappear for three more days after eating this not that tomorrow we have to sink is this going to serve us as a burden or... I don't know I don't know if It's going to be worse. We're not going to float. They fell short when they said it was the best restaurant in all of Puerto Rico. The truth is that we ate very, very well and now it's time to go to sleep and gather energy because tomorrow is the day of apnea. adventure THE NEXT DAY good day today we are actually going to continue with the freediving course and while we were traveling we were chatting and... we say how crazy that we are in such a dreamy dream situation and yet over time one gets used to things but we are aware that we are in a very ideal situation in Puerto Rico in a house that they lent us and it is great in a very nice car that takes us everywhere meeting spectacular people doing incredible activities in every corner of the island also meeting people that takes us to spectacular places is also very crazy the truth is that we are very grateful we are always very grateful but well every now and then it is not bad to say thank you again because it is very crazy and to be aware again how we normalize situations like this sometimes we end up getting used to it that sometimes things like that happen to us and... but it's not normal it's not normal we are in a totally surreal situation anyone in the world would dream of being and we ended up here, I don't know because of life itself, because of luck, because of destiny , obviously we have a lot to thank the YouTube channel that we created and all these years of work that obviously is not, the work is not free and yes, it's true, it's like Of course we have the best job in life out there, we don't earn a lot of money with our channel but... but we have the best job in life and in fact that's why we continue doing it and the truth is that it gives us so much happiness to live in situations like this We still can't believe it and we have to always try to get away from this normalization of the strange life that we are living because we are used to this life and it doesn't seem so strange to us, it's like we wake up on an ordinary day, for example just in Omar and Mucie's house, who invited us here to meet them, to stay at their house, invited us to eat this spectacular meal and today we woke up in their divine house, with an incredible breakfast, but it's like we're used to it and we say how normal it is that we don't wake up. In a strange situation, like feeling strange, if not we feel comfortable, we feel normal, we feel good but it is strange, it is strange and it is spectacular, that is... today, for example, what is what day is today? I don't know, well that's it, it's strange, we don't know what day it is, do you understand? Yes it's strange well it's Friday it's Friday now that I start thinking Friday morning many are going to work or are already working early we are going to take a freediving course, I mean it's strange yes it's incredible it's incredible and without going any further, they also gave it to us as a gift , so imagine the excitement we have and how happy we are for everything we are experiencing. We are very grateful, super grateful to everyone and we have discovered here in Puerto Rico a number of people with a huge heart and with a generosity but incalculable and we did not want to say anything that we are super excited and happy and grateful above all I show you that because so that you can see the number of mango trees that there are on the route the number of fallen mangoes on the shoulder is Impressive there are fortunes on those shoulders in Argentina at least look if in Argentina with how expensive the mango is we get to the beach where we are going to do the practice ah that must be the point, let's see there is a point there and now we are going to tell them tell more or less what this is about because well many people in fact do not even know what apnea is because it is not something very common , it is not a very common activity, it is not a very common name and in fact it is widely known in English as Friday but in Spanish it is apnea and is there any other way to say it? Free diving , well, apnea is actually holding your breath , but this is combined with diving very deep into the water and doing like a kind of diving without a tank, right? It's like you can go into the depths of the sea to explore the sea without an oxygen tank, so... it has that advantage that as a sport it is much more economical and you depend much less on external things , that is, you depend more on your training than anything else there is a record of depth that is achieved in different styles there are a lot of styles and it is very practical for us to do... many things, on the one hand diving that is, diving and seeing the underwater wonders on the one hand, but On the other hand, it is also useful for the boat to see how the anchor is in condition, look for something that has fallen, things like that for us will be a super tool when it comes to sailing and having navigation problems that will not be lacking. We know there will be no shortage of problems, I don't know if a line gets tangled in the propeller. or you had a problem with the keel or something like that, you can go in, go down into the water , hold your breath, fix it, or see what happened, it's the same thing. Sometimes the anchor you want to make sure is well anchored, the anchor is quite deep in general, so you can go in. eh go down and see if the anchor is okay or even help it anchor better or unlatch it if it gets snagged many times it happens that the anchor gets snagged and many people have to lose it, they have to leave it and an anchor is very expensive and on top of that you are left without anchor, which is your... one of the main safety elements on a boat , so having to leave it would be a problem. This gives us the possibility of being able to go down to the depth that the anchor is and remove it , so nothing is a super tool for It is super useful for us, it is something that we really wanted to learn so we really value being able to do this course at this moment and I won't even tell you what it is like for us to swim with incredible animals without the need for oxygen tanks that we still want to eh dive we are interested we love diving Because apart from that, you can really spend much more time. In fact, I already took the diving course and I know how to dive. Ezequiel is going to do it. I still have to... I would do it again because I haven't done it in a long time. They are two different disciplines. They are very good. both of them and we're both overwhelmed but well the apnea seems spectacular to us A WHILE LATER we just met the instructor with Alex our apnea instructor is Alex organizing everything hey the first part of today's day well now Alex is going to tell us how are you going to do the different steps today we are going to practice what are lung stretches also part of what breathing is and what we call more reports so we are going to also work on thinking because uh 80% of what is apnea or the sport of apnea has a lot to do with mental, a mental game, yes , so we have to control our mental impulses to be able to do apnea and that is a very, very important part of what apnea is, maybe what we are going to do. now to prepare our lungs before entering the water we are here on the beach well that is an essential part for me so that my students, my students can prepare their lungs before entering the water so that is what we are going to be doing now here we have the programs here more or less we are going to be for about half an hour about thirty minutes then in the water we are going to be there for about two hours well perfect we already have homework for today so we are very excited well we already did everything The meditation part, breathing, lung stretching exercise, air retention, in fact we reached... almost two minutes of air retention is a lot for us, in fact, it is our maximum that we have ever retained, so we are happy again. but well, water is another story because there you start to feel the pressure of the water and it is more difficult for you to control so much air and a lot of other factors but well let's see now how we do in the water the masks have to be very small these ones They are much smaller than the traditional snorkel ones so that they have less air so when you submerge it doesn't put as much pressure on your eyes , but this takes out the air and takes out the pressure eh... from the mask but hey, this one is easier to submerge. because there isn't that much air in the masks I'm doing the test for... very tightness if I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I 'm not putting it on I'm seeing to see if by breathing in it it sticks to me so if it fits you it fits well It fits well, it's airtight , how difficult it is to get inside the suit because it's so hot that with the perspiration... it doesn't run, it's a short suit but something is useful for the cold. I'm really cold and I can't last much longer under water . Although it is warm water, I still need to be warm, there it is. MINUTES LATER we are ready with all the equipment. The first dives, as expected, were embarrassing , but the progress was faster than we could imagine. To dive, there are techniques that help us sink into a movement and in an efficient way that although they may look easy, several things have to be coordinated at the same time to help the immersion. We put on ballast, which in the case of Chilu, since he has positive flotation, he needed much more than me. This ballast is calculated so that at At a depth of 10 meters, the freediver has zero flotation , so it will be different for each person depending on each person's body and the technical equipment they carry. In addition to regulating flotation, one of the problems that the freediver faces is that when he starts To reach greater depth the pressure in the ears makes it difficult to continue going down to take into account the pressure in the water increases at a rate of one atmosphere every ten meters so it will be necessary to compensate the pressure inside our ears with the external pressure of the Sea to do this There are techniques that take advantage of the fact that our inner ear is connected to the respiratory system and air pressure can be applied from the inside by blowing or swallowing saliva. Mastering this technique is not easy and many times we had to remain suspended in place until we could compensate. Correctly, in the first part of the class we managed to reach five meters deep, a record for us , but since all this requires a lot of practice and patience A WHILE LATER, after a while we moved a little deeper and were able to reach a little further. of nine meters of all the things we practiced, what was most difficult for us was compensation, especially face down because compensating face up is not the same as compensating face down. The difference is because the air rises when one is underwater and it is more easy to bring air from the lungs to the ears when the head is up. At this moment, having already progressed so much, our objective was to grab sand from the bottom as a trophy for the depth reached. Let's see, show me THREE HOURS LATER what we can say, very important. We reached ten meters, well nine actually nine meters nine meters well it's a lot in the first class in the first class reaching nine meters deep is a lot you don't know how difficult it is to compensate I remember them that I have like that more as a kid Not so much like a kid now, a few months ago, I went into a pool anywhere, going down, I don't know, two meters and my ears already hurt and I had to get out , and apart from that we held our breath for a long time because we went down very slowly to try to compensate for unevenness. You saw the ears with the pressure of the water so we went down very slowly obviously it took a long time to go down and so we all reached ten meters so... well nine of us are happy A WHILE LATER THE NEXT DAY the next day in the second part of the course we reached even greater depths this time the goal was to reach 48 feet almost 15 meters deep we were impressed by how quickly you can progress in this discipline because we never thought we could go so deep Only in the second class do we know that depending on the person, for some it costs nothing and for others it takes months to compensate. Each body reacts differently to water and pressure at depth, so even the compensation techniques that work for a person They may not be as useful to others. In the Friday discipline, it is not only about using the techniques that best suit each person, but also about calming the mind and connecting with the body and the water that surrounds you. It is a psychological game in which the Perception and reality are not aligned because the deeper you go the pressure in your lungs gives the sensation of not having more air. This sensation changes radically as you go up and when you reach the surface almost every time you feel that you could Having been a little longer, building this confidence takes time, technique and patience , but for the most experienced it can allow them to reach depths of more than 50 meters. Hours passed and we continued diving again and again, increasingly complemented by the place and the situation we were in. living we enjoyed it more and more we invite you to hold your breath with us as we dive to the deepest we go that day slowly inflate your belly from below and then your lungs we go at the end of the day we do not know precisely how long we hold our breath under the water but from some videos we can estimate that it was about a minute and a half and to end the day we were enjoying some little animals that we found at the bottom of the sea. This rare hermit crab had an anemone attached to it. Its snail was a nomadic anemone. Like us, something very rare to find since anemones do not move from their place throughout their life, which can reach 100 years. Who knows how long this duo has been traveling around A WHILE LATER well, we are back on our way to San Juan today was our second day of apnea, much better than the first but well it is logical because as you train you lose some fears and improve your technique as well and being able to coordinate things because the first day it was a total lack of coordination between breathing. .. hold your breath and coordinate the... the position and today today... well it was also a lack of coordination but a little better a more orderly lack of coordination more orderly... and well we were able to go deeper it was great it was impressive it feels like The progression is impressive from one day to the next , obviously it is still a little difficult for us to compensate , that is, to equalize our ears with the pressure of the water when we go... eh, upside down , but when we go down face up, that is, along the rope , we are doing quite well. Now we reach 14 meters, it's a lot for the second day and it feels far away, it feels like you're there and there's something very crazy, it's that the lower you go you feel like you have less air due to the pressure of the water and then when you realize turn around and start going up you start to feel like you have more air more air and when you get to the top you say uh I would have stayed longer but it is very difficult to overcome that reflex that one has to turn around and go up because one knows that it is psychological let's say that It still has air but the sensation is then well there is a whole psychological issue it has much more psychology than what I thought yes yes you reach the bottom like that with a lot of peace and suddenly... everything is fine because you were focused on going down and when you get to the bottom you say oh of course I still have to upload I have to hold my breath to get up there, there's a lot of work to do but it's really good, we really enjoyed it, we had a lot of fun, we spent two and a half hours in the water today, yesterday we spent three hours, it's crazy, three hours there around the lifeguard of our base of our... I call it the little table because it has a net where you can put things. The truth is that it was spectacular. We left super happy with our second day and apart from that I broke another record of mine for breathing, I reached two and a half minutes holding on. breathing , which was very very crazy, something very funny happened this morning because I had a very powerful breakfast and Ezequiel was light and I was surprised that Ezequiel didn't... didn't eat so much breakfast and I was happy having breakfast because it was so delicious. I come back to thank Omar and Musi for the breakfast naa, great question that Ezequiel tells me at one point... it's going to be difficult for you today... uh to hold your breath because you're very full, you ate a lot he tells me uuh, the p@#$ mother and I didn't think about it, I told her no, on the contrary, I'm going to have more energy to stay three hours in the water and I'm not going to get cold because I ate well, in fact, that's why I also ate apart from that because it was delicious and in fact Afterwards I got cold, yes Ezequiel got cold and I wasn't cold and I had energy but it's true that I was very full and it was difficult for me to keep my breath today it was much more difficult than yesterday but well nothing the same they were all progress we are very Happy, yes, it is strong, it is delicious, it is very delicious, the coffee from Puerto Rico had to be said and it was said, the coffee from Puerto Rico is really very delicious, but Puerto Rico has a flaw and almost all the countries in the world, I am going to tell you practically stop stop, are you going to criticize Puerto Rico again? after having criticized Enrique Iglesias I say it wasn't... it was Ricky Martin it was another no, they are going to kill me, the EnrĂquez's confused me, it's not a lie that everyone goes through this but... it happens to us that we miss it a lot the coffee on the route this at that moment being on the route and having a coffee that we ordered in passing at a service station and continuing on we have not found it in many places it has happened to us to stop here at many service stations to look for coffee and there was no market, I mean there was no market there, we just got it but it's not something that you commonly have on the go like in Argentina what the YPF is, all those who are Argentinian are going to know what I'm talking about but you pass there on all the routes on all the roads, entrances and exits of any town or any city you will always have a service station with a good coffee waiting for you to take you a gas station a gas station the YPF is the most traditional because it is the one in Argentina but hey There are all kinds of brands and colors and types, nothing the same. There are exceptions. The place where there is none is very disappointing. On the large highways in Europe, it is quite common, there are stops on the routes , but in many other countries and places it is very difficult for us to do this. finding the gas station with its good coffee to continue on the road when we are tired and sleepy so well we are happy to have found a good gas station with a very good coffee, the coffee that until now we had not found is true and there are probably many but oh well So, no, we haven't been lucky enough to travel the island so far, so that's how we said goodbye with our coffee on the route, happy with this super adventure that we've had these days, which for us is a lot, I don't know if it's easy. In fact, I think it would be enough to transmit it for three whole chapters. transmit what it means and what one feels in freediving and it is impressive, as we said at the beginning, it is like a religion more than a real extreme sport, there is a connection there with the senses and with everything and a peace , a peace is felt down there that is indescribable so well we leave happy we hope we have been able to transmit a little of what we have lived and felt these days and we hope you liked the video we hope you subscribe if you are not subscribed we hope you Share the video with your acquaintances, if you liked it, leave a like, leave comments, we send you a big greeting, especially to Ricky Martin, everything is fine with him. Very few people understood my bad joke, but hey, I don't know, it doesn't matter, I forgive you and leave us in the comments if you would dare to do freediving or not we don't want to leave without first thanking Omar and Musi very much for having received us so well and so nice and in such an... incredible way these days and that we had such a good time so They are very special to us, we send them a big kiss and to all those who are watching, we will see you in the next episode as we continue with the search for the boat, so big hug, bye bye, bye bye, WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU IN THE NEXT EPISODE
