well hello everybody I'm Terry miles and I'm up here in North Wales I'm in a place called gresford which is just outside rexam now this is a kind of a part two of a previous pu piano Quest a PO piano Quest that I did about a year ago and um I've had several requests uh to come back and do a part two and this is where I met I don't know if you've seen the previous video but if you look back and uh put in the longest serving land lady in the UK and I'm talking about Jean Jean Williams now Jean has been here at this Pub since 1973 and as it turns out I did a little bit of research before I um did this it's her 51st uh anniversary so she was here in February 1973 and it is now obviously February 2024 so she's been here 51 years to the day okay so today is February the 14th it's Valentine's Day and we are back at the uh the Griffin in look it's called the Griffin in so I'm going to sort of do a bit of this this is your life you know a bit of an A and Andrews but I'm going to walk in and surprise Jean hopefully she's going to be there this this evening uh behind the bar and and as we all know Jean has um she's been pulling pints uh since she was 14 since she was 14 years old and uh when she moved here apparently according to my research a pint was 14 P of pint anyway it's 2024 Now 51 years later and uh I think the price has gone up considerably but considerably but let's go and see if the Griffin still has the piano and if Jean is there and if Jean is going to get up and sing and play and who knows we might do a duet follow me I'll have um I'll have a quick sneak peek through the window shall I oh I can see I can see Jean I can see Jan can't see the piano yet but I can see Jan oh let's go and have a look I tell you what it's very cold this [Applause] some make sure it's Cherry how you doing you come from where did you come from well well I was on holiday here anyway for the half term I was in snowdonia Ni um in in well a place called Blinder FIA and I thought we were sort of we're sort of passing wer we not that far away not that far away only sort of an hour D I thought I thought I'd call in and see you go thank you and um and have a drink of course yeah and um and see you still got the piano yeah still here I can see there lovely to see you nice nice and warm in here that G I was going to ask have you got any as cider as I have oh look at that that's one years W that's great so so so where did I was a local piano I from Rex it came from a lady from K girly got a photograph here oh I see okay are we allow to show it oh yeah cool so this is the lady that the lady that so she wants my dad bought his so your dad bought the piano off this lady here she had one son and he didn't say to the piano so she sold it it was business as usual today Mrs Mrs GTR jours wow that's great she had a shopping k early for many years don't know exactly how many and she was celebrating her 90th birthday herself yeah so I was I'm from kir I was going to have a wall here with all pictures of K never got round to doing it so this is the lady that made this all happen yes G Jones yeah good old G Jones K North that's great that you got that and I tell you what does sound amazing the piano Lely it looks incredible and it's a local piano isn't it a local piano from what from here in re just side re cran McDonald there you go look there progress for you isn't it there's a McDonald's there where used to make the piano say so tell us about your background s what where have you learned and how you you come about mus you're obviously very talented so where do you come I'm from B you look like a rock star thank you yeah tra best you know well I come from Birmingham originally right and uh you know music has always been in the family really so um my grandfather he used to actually play for the silent movie what in the cinema yeah in the C W mat in the evening show yeah but when the what they call the the toris came in they called them the Tories so when they had obviously speaking on film and all that um he kind of put him at the job and but you know that's why it's so wonderful to see a place like this you know this is a rare this is this is a little with the a good old Joanna in the corner where you we sit around the piano there's no electric needed even if there was a power cut we could still still play the piano few candles and you know we could p a pine and pull a pine so you know so yeah it's great that and you know all credit to je for um for making this you know making this making this [Music] happen should we do a should we do a
