LOFT STAIRCASE AND WINDOW INSTALL PART 3

[Music] good morning guys welcome back to the build it's wednesday today we are back on site we've got all the staircase components we've got the windows to go in the dormer so we're going to get that assembled first finish cutting the hatch out then we're going to drop it down the all and then we'll be working downstairs fixing it all up but first this is battery charger lead on it's a bit knackered so i'm going to spend 10 minutes repairing that and then we'll get to it so we've got top off now so this is where it comes in and it goes round there and into there so i'm going to cut it off somewhere here and i'll reconnect it for yesterday back in business we're working so this is where staircase is going to go directly above the original there coming through this cupboard this back wall here that's all coming out and steph's gonna go down bend round and start just there that pipes will run for essentially eating inside the wall that's all getting re-plastered those fuel cables they've got to be moved so that's not an issue and we've just got finished trimming out this opening cut all that out [Music] beautiful sweet that's the opening all cut out now trimmed back just getting wasted out right we're going to start building this top section get that in that's going to sit just there go down the wall and then turn and go around the corner [Music] so this is what you get as part of the staircase kit there all your newel caps leg on the top of the post we've got wedges for risers and treads we've got your glue blocks all the dowels for the newer pores as well your check sheets and then you're drawing so that's what we're building and installing now we use a company called pair stairs a bit free advertising from there they can turn them around pretty quickly so that's why we use them pushing it in wait for me yeah just a bit yeah tap tap so all right let's offer it down up that extension gonna be aware no no sound so if you'll get to that end this will tip it over send it to me all right just like sit there for a second we've got the top section in we're just working on this section coming through the cupboard now so this is where we're up to we've got that section in now yeah go on mate we've got that string to put in there and then we've got the newer pause at the bottom but as you can see from outside it's getting a bit dark now so we're going to get these couple of bits in and then we're going to call it a night we were close there won't we but we're off at top of them so that's fine this isolator unit is for the shower on the back of that wall so that's all getting moved but we wait not sparks for that [Music] [Music] morning guys back on the job this morning we're back to the staircase we're going to get all the rices in now then all the wedges glue blocks get that set then we've got to board the underside involved inside that cupboard let's get it done can you get a second in no no do that all the risers are in now except for that first one we're going to cut that dowel off yes please so what bottom up staircase we've got a couple of new walls here and that little bit there so we're going to knock them up now send them down let me show you where they're going so i've just peeled carpet back there and cut the skirt in back so we've got a wall going down that edge we've got a wall going up here that doorway there is coming out that'll be just a corridor through we've got a new wall going in there with a doorway to this bedroom my [Music] so that staircase finished just got that bit of ceiling to cut out there a couple of electrics to move wall sparks it's coming to do them let me put you on a zoom out that's all passed aboard it now damn also is putting that door and casing back in that's where the door in case was originally that's the old hatch that's going to get plastered up just started cutting out windows now so what i've done i've put a screw through each corner top and bottom just so i can locate where i need to cut on the outside it's much easier outside than it is from cutting it in here there's screw coming through look one there one there not the best day for it bit cold out here but we'll get them cut [Music] [Music] that's winter opening cut out now you can see all roofing lats roofs have put on rubber membranes on with plastic over the top i think it's had it there more yeah what turned on no it bleeped but no happened all right see if it starts making that weird noise again no ah so alright let's crack on then all right we're back in basement tomorrow let's get this window in [Music] stupid ah dripping on me right we've got the window framing now screwed and packard [Music] forever [Music] i know i should be using a rubber mallet but i can't find it it's got missing so that will do for now all right we've got the glass in now make sure it'll tell you where's it tell you this surface must be on the interior make sure it's the right way yeah obviously if you put battery on it [Music] [Music] i wanna be forever [Music] all right let's get this in [Music] ten to time [Music] second wind horsing we're going to get them both formed up four more there can't split them start again get all gaps formed up on inside oh we like a bit of expanding foam we'll let that dry and we'll just cut it off with leicester left the other we've left the protective plastic on so it won't affect the window same again nice bit of foam that gap's too small to get any foaming so we'll we'll just seal that [Music] so that's the new wall what boxing in the staircase we took the old door frame and door out turned it round and we've put it back in here so that's underside that new staircase all fireboarded that little bit stuck out there that's just the newer post what we trimmed off that post is that one there the double post we just trimmed bottom edge of it off so it didn't protrude too much so this is a continuance after landing through there's the hatch opening electric still to be moved there we go got the two windows in all formed up that window we're not going to talk about that one that didn't quite go plan somebody made that wrong size but we'll mention your names yeah big tidy up get this waist out bit of earth wall two walls couple of bits there and then that's us done that's it guys all done staircasing windowsing apart from the little one but we're not gonna talk about that that's getting manufactured as we speak so we'll get it in soon a couple of days it'll arrive but yeah that's us finished here time for plaster us to come in now electrician to come back plumber to come in they'll do all their bit so next week we are down in london we're doing a truss removal the traditional way with steel and timber beams so that'll be somewhat different you ain't seen me do that before i think that's gonna be a three to four day job and then we're moving across to the other side of london where we're doing a metal truss removal like this but it's got no dorm so got plenty on two more jobs to run up to christmas and then we're done thanks for watching guys it's been a pleasure time for an aircraft i think barbarossary open
