LIVING WITH A TURKISH FAMILY IN IZMIR 🇹🇷

hello from the UK I'm filming this little clip here in my parents house this is post turkey trip there's still a few videos coming after this one one from Izmir and then three from Istanbul and I just wanted to mention as I was going over this video editing it the situation behind how I managed to get involved with this Turkish family just a little bit of context because I didn't explain it at the time so my girlfriend Reiner she took part in a competition in China last year sort of a cultural competition which involved one representative from each country around the world and as such she made friends with the Turkish representative betel and that's how I got in touch with this girl's family who I've been staying with for a few days in Izmir and she very kindly agreed to host me and show you me some aspects of the Turkish home and what it's like for this family in particular and I had a great time staying with them and the hospitality was incredible as you're about to see in this video anyway enough waffle gonna jump into it hope you enjoyed this and hope it gives you a good idea of what it's like to be with the Turkish family right yes okay yes could you describe your feelings after I will share my video with you okay so far Turkey has been so this is the amazing meal I've just arrived here in Izmir - actually we're not in Izmir and guys in there isn't it but you pronounced guys Amir this this place guysI Amir okay okay this is Turkish hospitality is very best incredible okay you said this one was called samus okay cool Barbie yeah okay but I forgot what's okay no I'm kidding that's okay and this is yogurt we can't always have your girl with their food right not always but I've seen it a lot olives is like so important to Turkish food right yes especially easier so we're now here making some Turkish desert what's it called how realistic okay I'll put the name in the bottom hand corner here because I can't pronounce that right now all of us come cow bra faster still one guest so afterwards we're going to boil some water with sugar and pour it over all of our little rolls baking away there in the oven yeah arts Bev a rainy day here in this man tomorrow I'll be exploring the city today is entirely domestic this is such a typical thing I see a lot of Turkish mothers doing with the towel in the window or the blanket or so right now it's not the right time now need to wait yes they are unit canteen nano leo Shh okay every day not every day every day is getting killed how many men at once I'll use almost everything you need to okay for two months two months but then you get the best flavor Wow okay Turkish coffee that looks amazing and smells good okay please please put it we can maybe let me bring this table okay dis occur editor normally after breakfast okay yeah improves your digestion I'm not sure what's gonna be inside is it a raisin now and okay what do you call it Barden okay I've never tried this before hmm generally there's a nut in sight on six cups of sugar water furniture unit four to twenty minutes have you seen before help to make meth Lola it's a similar haha I'd never seen that but I love back lava so much it's really good oh yes okay in the refrigerator yeah okay it's now dark here you dinner you know salad rice beans yo girl [Music] good morning traditional breakfast yeah Schmidt Simmons she be she she boils boy else BIOS people in Turkey it's a that was especially in his merrie okay salad and from last night yes did you eat I tried last night yes watching the football really I think you'll find it was really good it reminded me of some desserts I've tried in India and Bangladesh it's quite similar really yeah with them like a sponge but with some GC syrup it's similar to something called gulab jamun anyway olives always won and you know that one idea actually this one I'm not sure it's Tara berry Jane oh it's jammed Joker it's jamming time talking you is this oh ok tahini tahini yeah yeah um cheese yeah yes yeah and broccoli haven't seen my Turkish breakfast before but yeah I like not I boil a broccoli to actually skew I'm gonna be learning how to cook manaman my favorite Turkish dinner this morning consisting of tomato and chili onion an egg [Music] [Music] tomato diced and cut small as is the onion and chilli or you oil going in and to the chilies and onions let your Tomatoes wait patiently as they're not ready just yet to be thrown into the mix to the record we also have some pre-made tomato sauce tomatoes in after your Chilean onion is brown followed by your pre-made tomato sauce a few pinches of salt now the eggs go in [Music] we've got three eggs bash the yoke and stir it in like scrambled egg it's looking good there you go the Medellin master class full breakfast including the minimun chick kofta chick if de you get hurt that bread cucumber olives cheese tomatoes different jams yes that's great so there you go that was the experience that I had there with Bethel's family thank you once again to you guys for hosting me you were great especially your mother who made so much of an effort to talk to me even though English is not her Forte I have one more video coming from Izmir after this one which is more of a tour of the city and then also a couple more videos coming from Istanbul and that's it for the turkey trip so stay tuned and I'll see you [Music]
