I used to be hot shit at the mall in Brazil in KoF 97 when I was a teenager and then I tried to play it against the slum arcade kids.
First time I ever saw a 100% combo was when a filthy barefooted 8 year old kid beat my whole team (Shermie, Beni, Kensou) with only his Yamazaki. He crushed my Beni opener, 100% combod my Shermie and did to Kensou what Germany did to us in the world cup. I went back to the mall, a broken man.
These slum arcade kids man, they're brutal.
KOF never gets big at EVO because the KOF scene can't afford to travel there.
That's one gnarly arcade scene.
I can only imagine how dirty and busted those buttons are.
That's svc btw
I'm in the Phils and every now and then I did play at the seedy game spots like these in the countryside, in the province of my grandparents'.
The ghetto can def breed prodigies. Thing is, you prob don't want to play too well or body the local guys in a joint like that, for fear of betting beat up irl or stabbed. These things originated from the 90s for sure and back then them ghetto arcade fights were wild
