Republic diving fans one more round of applause for your athletes competing in the women's 10 meter championship finals [Music] it is indeed our pleasure to introduce our officials for this event please welcome your referee Francine lavois assistant referee Sarah Toth your platform Judge Maria barrul Nora is more diving coming up at the world Aquatics diving World Cup here in Montreal last day of competition we're getting set to watch the women's 10 meter platform we'll kick forward to this event it's going to be a very exciting event and a very high one and this beautiful voice you're hearing is Jenna Bell as we are seeing the women's 10 meter platform lineup just before Selena Todd of Canada Kaylee Makai because she got married just not too long ago maybe she's gonna have little uh divers because Vinnie riendo is also an Olympian for Canada in the sport of diving [Music] five rounds of Dives here all obviously with high degrees of difficulty Lewis Tolson of Great Britain is who you're seeing on your screens very experienced diver two-time Olympian knows what it's like to be in a in a final knows what's at stake so let's tell you what's at stake for these events a new format of competition this year three World Cups this is the second leg the third one is a super final and the first two legs are used to qualify for that super final [Music] all of the 12 divers that are involved in the finals today will be taking part in the Super Final as the top 18 divers in the world in the individual events make it to the big one at the end of the season today is going to be a very interesting day because it's all finals so it's very interesting to see the girls fighting or the men's fighting for that podium [Music] of Malaysia the greatest diver coming out of that country with a bronze medal at the Olympic Games back in 2016 or 12 12 in London the fact that she won a medal in those games tells us she is also a veteran in this event already 11 years ago tell me about it diver's getting ready the last few moments and you always say it Jen being the first diver of the event is always a bit tricky for the first time you gotta wait in these moments right now we're getting the crowd ready as well yep and especially on 10 meter because you have to go up there so you want to be ready you don't want to hear the the judges to give the signal and then you beat downstairs and then you have to run it up there so you really want to be ready you can't make the crowd wait for you yes or the judges or the judges either that's right and we're just about to get ready and underway here lots and lots of diving fans here especially from the Chinese Community here in Montreal this is a record-breaking event for diving Canada even on a beautiful sunny day here people are here in the pool to watch some great diving and here we go with the first dive of the competition the Chile of France with a Ford three and a half somersault tuck position great great it's a little bit smaller guy because she's doing this in a tuck position 2.7 degree of difficulty not very high but very important for her to have a beautiful entry to get that point that's core high so she grabbed her tuck position very nicely and she worked that entry out 59.40 to kick off the event Clemons her coach former divers back in our day she's happy as well [Music] Here Comes Selena Todd 31 years old that makes her the veteran for Team Canada 's cheering her on she's a four-time national champion still trying to make her way to the Olympic Games and it's in events like this she gains that experience with a reverse two and a half somersaults tuck beautiful beautiful when you do a reverse two and a half tuck position on 10 meter you really need to control that that because you have 10 meters to do that dive so it's a very easy one and I really love how Selena she did her kick she was confident and then she unfortunately really she was a little bit over past the vertical and the coach is saying exactly that at the moment six and a half seven seven and a half on the dive to start the event from Australia now Emily meany we'll be doing an inward two and a half pike position 2.8 degree of difficulty oh beautiful I love the pike position that when the girls are doing that that for me it's all about the pike position and here she went she was super close unfortunately she reached too early for for that entry and that's the reason why it created a lot of Splash so outside coming out of the pike position you have to take your time to look at the water well take your time it happens very fast but line up the arms and the body so that you find that vertical Point 40 to kick off the event for the Australia [Music] from the United States of America Nike agundiadi she'll be doing a back two and a half one and a half twist Pike position okay that's a higher degree of the difficulty dive and it's very hard for the girl because they really have to get that speed right here and they have to take that Pike and get in control for that entry so we can see that now she was twisting a little bit when she had to rotate so that creates movement and that's the reason why she couldn't really get that clean entry it didn't seem like such a bad dive but she gets lower scores because at the end like you mentioned the body kept turning sideways and the judges do not like that finds that five and a half's and six to start the event she's staying positive from Great Britain now Lewis Tolson with a forward three and a half somersault Pike okay unfortunately was missing a little bit of height to finish that entry I feel like she wasn't able to really Place her arms for that entry she has a beautiful back position but here at the bottom you can see that she didn't grab her hands the right way really have to be aggressive towards the water get that speed of rotation going no she can do better here comes the score six and a halfs on the dive the water is coming very fast so for the people who are diving on 10 meter it's very important to stay super tight to really break that water and get that clean entry [Music] starting the event with a forward three and a half pipe position and all the way through this event you'll notice she's very delicate beautiful line in the legs the feet very very pointed judges love to see that um Good Start for panda later and as you mentioned she's very elegant her positions are so pretty and she's known for that look at right here when she will grab her Pike position it's super tight right here and then when she grabbed her hands it's very beautiful [Music] at the end that's going to cost a little bit of points 7.5 on the dive for a 67.50 enough to put her in first place for now Here Comes Di Maria you might notice a tiny bit of French in her name yes she is Canadian born Canadian here moved to Italy to give herself a chance to compete at the Olympic Games having dual citizenship gives her that opportunity and here she is with a back two and a half one and a half twist pipe position beautiful I really love how she was aggressive for that entry it's a very easy diaper sahad the jump was so high her twist position was good and she was in total control when she grabbed her pack position right here to get that entry clean 3.2 degree of difficulty she'll get nice scores here for a solid first dive 7.5 for a total of 72 points Tomaso Rinaldi a great friend of mine coaching now for team Italy [Music] also from Italy Maya piginelli and she will be starting with a reverse two and a half somersaults tuck position ah this is very unfortunate because she could have really did do that there very well she jumped so high but unfortunately she was too far from the board so that created a momentum and it gets very hard for her to come out at the right position keep her abdominal very tight to get that entry can I be penalized for that fives on this one difficult start for the young diver just 19 years old from Great Britain now Andrea spendellini Serie x with a back arm Stand double somersault one and a half twist 3.2 degree of difficulty but the judges would like to see now it's a very beautiful control at of that handstand and she has to show a minimum of three seconds of home not so easy from a 10 meter platform no beautiful control she saved it really well as I mentioned she had to show the control of the handstand and she did that perfectly fine and then she went for it for it she was a little bit pasta vertical but in general it was a very beautiful dive just going past that vertical at the end as you mentioned sevens to round up the dive good start [Music] Canada [Applause] she will start the competition with a forward three and a half pike position 3.0 degree of difficulty beautiful a little splash at the end like but that we call it or got to you know what because you you go in the cage so she goes in the water and it seems super clean but the bubbles are coming out and the judges will see that definitely but it was a beautiful dive beautiful Pike position and super tight at her for her entry I'm sensing a lot of energy on her end for this competition eights for the dive solid start for Kayla Makai the beauty of 10 meter is that you have to go you have to be aggressive you have to give everything [Music] all right Yushi Chen of China starting the competition with a forward three and a half pipe position very high level of diving coming up from the Chinese team these next two divers oh so we we always have such high expectations especially for the quality of the entry I mean everything is beautiful here pack position super tight but that's a little mistake for for her because she passed a vertical and that creates a little splash and I see I think the divers are having trouble finding the vertical you can see it in the replays there's the sun is you know plunging straight into the pool and that can create some sort of A disruption on their end to find the surface of the water so yeah we're seeing uncharacteristic mistakes Happening Here up next Hong Chan Juan she is the Olympic champion in this event from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and back then let me tell you she was just 14 years old when she won that gold medal and here's why she wants that gold medal she found that vertical all right yes she she doesn't have a problem with that she's very talented very beautiful pack position it's perfectly and then her when she grabbed her hand she's so tight and that she knows how to work that entry out perfect Pike position here very beautiful the line with her hands and her head and the five-time Olympic champion as her coach in Ken Roland nine nine and a half very big scores for Hong Chan Juan of China she's in very good hands with 10 ruling I think she knows what she's talking about here are the standings after one round China in the lead also followed with Yushi Chan of China Italy in third place Kaylee Makai sitting in fourth not too far from the top three positions here's your leader staying very focused in this event start and the technique is just nearly Flawless perfect distance from the tower everything is calculated and it works out perfectly for her [Music] on to the next round now Here Comes the French diver with a back arm Stand double somersaults one half twist to lower degree of difficulty here in a 2.7 the French team are building a young team but a young but solid team for packing 2024. it's true lots of talent coming from from them and they have limited infrastructure to train beautiful and that's the reason why sometimes we can see lower dives from them because they're limited but at the same time they're very talented and they can be there and be ready for those kind of the big kind of competition as you mentioned that was a smaller type but also very hard to control and you can see that she was on the side a little bit and that creates bubbles sevens are the scores on this one 56.70 for her second dies from Canada all smiles from Selena talk and her second dive will be back two and a half one and a half twists Pike position 3.2 degree of difficulty here chooses to go to one side of the platform wherever you're comfortable really beautiful beautiful very strong diver Selena she has so much power I know that she can do that there very well and she just did she was in her twist position and then she grabbed her hands for the entry a little bit earlier and that's create Bubbles at the end but in general it was a beautiful life for her good dive to build on that confidence Lisa her coach very happy with this sevens and seven and a half [Music] time to shake it up even worth the dance Here Comes Emily meanie of Australia with a back arm Stand double somersault one and a half twist 3.2 degree of difficulty once again very important to show that that control oh so this is going to be a two-point deduction from every judge you're only allowed to go once she's very nervous now going back for the second time can shaking as you mentioned it's going to be the judges will deduct two points from uh from her Buck because she didn't go the first time so that's create a big nerve it's going to be very stressful stressful for her because she knows that she needs to go right now and she was capable of managing her stress four four and a half and fives for the dive with the deduction that's gonna be a hit for her she'll have to shake that off and come back stronger here comes the American now she'll be doing the exact same dive can't let yourself get distracted here with what just happened with the previous diver oh just missing the entry everything was there everything was there I really love her line if you can see when she she went up in her handstand she had a beautiful line she knew exactly where she where she had to go she jumped out take her twist position but unfortunately wasn't tight enough to get that entry entry clean these are the scores being retained for her dive 57.60 is her total score next now Lewis Tolson from Great Britain she'll be doing every first two and a half somersaults duck 2.8 degree of difficulty it's gonna be very important for her to control that come out of her tough position ah and she's she missed a little bit of tightness on on her abdominal and that's the reason why her legs fell off right here she jumped so high see the water twice but she needed to keep that connection 10 meters to accomplish two and a half rotations sometimes can get tricky you still have to give it a lot of speed in the rotation and that did not happen here that is a mistake for Lois Tolson 49 points on the dive [Music] we're gonna get to see a beautiful dive here lower degree of difficulty 2.9 for a back two and a half pike position I think we can agree that this is her signature dive of course it is and when we're talking about control she knows how to control Andale lapang from Malaysia oh that's so unfortunate so close yes but I really love how she went for it she sees the water two times but unfortunately she really she kept her and her hands a little bit too much in front so that that's the reason why she couldn't get that entry the arms really have to be lined up with the body to go get that perfect connection with the water unfortunately that's a Miss five and a half and six and especially for back and reverse your hand has to be a little bit more backward because you want to get that entry you want to have that line just a tiny bit behind your ears is where they should be lined up Di Maria from Italy doing a forward three and a half somersaults Pike position wow beautiful life beautiful dive just the quality of the entry could have been a little bit cleaner but look how she went for it her Pike position was beautiful and she just grabbed a little bit too soon in her hands for that entry everything happens very fast minimal damage here though sevens are being retained for the dive 63 points for Sarah Di Maria H just 19 years old trying to bounce back here with a forward three and a half somersault Pike position [Music] she's very powerful so beautiful take up beautiful speed also she will just need to work on on that control right here she was a little bit she came out a little bit too late and that's the reason why she has a vertical and you really have to keep your head lined up towards the water if you keep your head in and Dives like this one your body's Gonna Keep rotating sixes on the diet before the Italian you basically need to look where you're going exactly Adria spendellini Serie X from Great Britain her second dive will be an inward three and a half tuck wow wow beautiful and I didn't expect that because she jumped a little bit far too far back from the tower but she knows exactly where she is she spent three times in a beautiful pack position and she a little bit hesitate to come out but she knew exactly where she were to get that entry clean exciting dive to watch and the scores speak for themselves eight for a total of 76.80 Alex C her coach originally from France he's very happy [Music] second round dive for the Canadian Kaylee Makai she'll be doing a reverse two and a half tuck position 2.8 degree of difficulty very easy die for Kelly she's working and training to add a rotation get some more difficulty to this dive and clearly she has enough space to add a flip yes she does very good she came out a little bit too late and I feel like she could have be a little bit earlier so she could have hit the vertical and this is a very easy dive for Kaylee especially in the situation where she has a lot of adrenaline being in the final right now sevens are being rewarded for her minimal damage [Music] still keeps a smile ewali giving her all the tips on to the next now Yushi Chan of China she'll be doing an inward three and a half somersault tuck position 3.2 degree of difficulty beautiful yes well there's nothing I can say just compliment look at that position could have been a little bit more pointed but in general it was a gray dive Confident come out beautiful entry we just saw here a little bit of a bounce from the tower so it happens very fast the judges don't get to see it very excited to see the scores that are going to come up here wow nine and a half a 10 is being deducted we keep the highest two and the lowest two we keep three scores get rid of the highest do and the lowest two add up with the degree of difficulty monster dive for Yushi Chan following up is hung Chan Kwan with the same dive inward three and a half tuck beautiful she knows how to respond to her singer partner that she just did a beautiful dive her too her toes could have been a little bit more pointy to just be picky but it was a beautiful guy perfect for me very difficult to find anything wrong here I always say oh there it is you get a peek at what's coming for you [Applause] monster scores tens ten ten for Hong Chan Kwan 96 points and Jennifer Bell beside him he gets Goosebumps right now I do because when it's perfect it's perfect so I'm really interesting to see what if she's gonna work on when to go back to in China the Olympic champion in full control here second also from China Great Britain in third Kaley Makai in fifth place right now Selena taught right right behind her [Music] we're gonna have another look at this nearly perfect dive that we just saw for a tuck position doesn't get much better than this and I always say once you don't see a splash on your screens it was even better here live in Montreal [Music] follow now for the young French diver third dive will be a reverse two and a half tuck position as she tries to keep her calm stay focused on her own dive that was a little bit too much far out for me I feel like she she jumped too far so that created momentum and that's the reason why when she come out right here of that position she's not in total control because the gravity is pulling her down a bit of a mistake from the French here four and a half five and a half's on the die coach trying to stay positive more rounds to go for the French [Applause] from Canada now Selena taught and her third round dive will be a forward three and a half somersault Pike position yeah beautiful dive I really loved how she was a little bit not at the end of the tower but she she stayed calm she grab her Pike position could have been a little closer but she knew exactly where she were to get that beautiful entry high fives for the front three and a half pike 67.50 on the dive big smiles to move on to the next one [Music] representing Australia now Emily meany she'll be doing a back two and a half pike position if you remember in the previous round she got a deduction from the judges for not being able to get on her handstand the first time she's got to shake that off and come back into the competition here and she did and I feel like that shows character because once you do a dive that you're not satisfied with it you have to be able to put that aside and come back and give it all and she just did she went for it she grabbed her pack position very beautiful she looked at the water two times and she knew exactly where to place her feet and get that entry [Music] all right everybody's happy here 7.5s and seven on the dive good comeback from the Australian from the United States of America [Music] she'll be doing a back three and a half somersaults in the tuck position much higher degree of difficulty here with a 3.3 one of the most difficult Dives in this event ah I thought that was gonna go in to to do that to be able to do that dive you really need to be strong you need you can't hesitate for that jump and she jumped a little bit too much backward with her head up and that great that gets hard for her to know exactly where she is in the air and that's the reason why she land short so she couldn't hit the vertical we could see the legs slightly apart that's something to work on when she gets back home four and a half and fives on this one that's considered a Miss coach wanting her to be she comes out of that rotation from Great Britain now Lewis Tolson with a back arm Stand double somersault one and a half twist 3.2 degree of difficulty that was a good dive I would have appreciated to see a little bit more push of her arm went before her getting into her twist position and also being a little more of a jump from there exactly exactly right here and then she could have been a little bit tighter for for her entry to make it cleaner she doesn't make big mistakes but there's always a little bit of something missing and that makes the difference between the half a point of a point this time good enough for sevens here for Lois Tulsa next from Malaysia Panda Leila Pang and she'll be doing the exact same dive and the Layla has all the experience she needs to be competitive in this event beautiful and you see earlier I was talking about the push with the arm and she just did so she pushed a little bit higher with her arm so it was easier for her to get into that twist position and control right here for that entry which was a little bit short and that's the reason why the judges will deduct for that you can see a lot of divers having a lot of tape around their shoulders their wrists their ankles 10 meter platform event is a very demanding one on the body to keep everything together and Elena happy with the dive Sarah show Dwayne Di Maria from Italy doing an inward three and a half somersaults tuck position beautiful could have been a little bit tighter I thought that was going in solidly yes could have been a little bit tighter for that entry to get really that clean entry she went there with confidence beautiful tuck position and she hesitate a little bit for her when she had to come out of that tuck position and that created a little momentum for that entry right here just a little bit of a splash he's still in the hunt to be in that top three positions 6.5 and 7. not a major mistake here but she's gonna have to get some work done if she expects to win a medal here today [Music] here comes the young mayabi jinali of Italy she'll be doing the exact same dive 3.2 degree of difficulty ah once again you can't hesitate when you do that dive when you come out of that tuck position you can hesitate and especially for Maya that she has very she's very strong her tuck position is beautiful but when she come out of the attack position right he she hesitate and that's the reason why she land on her back no time to second-guess yourself here four is on the dive for a total of 38.40 it's another Miss for the young Italian diver [Music] Here Comes Andrea spendellini Siri X from Great Britain her next dive is a forward three and a half somersaults in the pike position she also has a little bit more difficulty on this one being such a tall diver beautiful it's I don't think it's hard for her definitely not her Pike I want I want you to look at that Pike position how beautiful it is right here so tight and she knew exactly where she were she looked at her hand when she come out of that tight position to get that beautiful entry having a great day at the office eight for this total score of 72 points she can be very happy with that result [Music] here's Kaylee Makai now bronze medalist from the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games in this event she'll be doing an inward three and a half somersaults tuck position is known to be one of her strong Dives beautiful very easy for Kaylee she even have the time to come out in a pike position but unfortunately she wasn't very tight for her entry right here packed position and she was a little bit short she kept it a little bit short I feel like she held back a little bit on this dive yes the previous two rounds were filled with energy and adrenaline and I feel like this one she may have fell back a little bit seven 7.5 minimal damage here the judges are rewarding her for her effort [Music] now the current world champion her next dive is an arm stand back triple somersault talk position 3.3 degree of difficulty very hard time for her and for the woman too this is the second leg of the World Cup season she won Gold in this event in China just a few weeks ago in the first World Cup in total control oh okay she saved it and do you agree that for me that dive was a signature of Rosalind she knew exactly how she do it very good she kicked it a little bit too much high and that's the reason why she landed a little bit over but she knew how to save that dive almost was able to put the aerial breaks here but that's considered a mistake for such a high level diver a 8.5 that doesn't seem to like it 82.50 [Music] going up now also from China Hong Chan Kwan [Music] she'll be doing a back arm Stand double somersault with one and a half twist 3.2 degree of difficulty [Music] Alec do you have anything to say right here I'm I'm trying to figure it out luckily not unlike the judges that get to see the dive only once we get the replay here and even then it's hard to find something bad about this dive very very hard for me it was very beautiful look at that tight position in the Twist and she knew exactly where she were to get that clean entry I feel like she could have painted feet maybe a little bit throughout the dive but look the scores speak for themselves nine nine and a half as well on the dive for such a young diver an outstanding talent I mentioned it before the Olympic champion from Tokyo 2020 in full control here followed by China Great Britain in third Kaley McKay up in fourth place now [Music] Di Maria a Canadian diving for Italy is in fifth place at the moment here's your fearless leader in this event after three rounds she's also a silver medalist from the world championships in Budapest back in 2022 as we take a look back at her Dives I mentioned a lot of athletes having to put tape either on their ankles either on their wrists we got a glimpse at some of the perfect scores she's had so far in this event two more rounds to go does she have more in her I believe so I really so and you know what Alex it's always a challenge when you have to dive after your teammates because you know that she's gonna do good and it's always something very hard to keep and especially at the level that both Chinese divers are diving right now all right on to the fourth round now Chad Chile of France with an inward two and a half pike position beautiful beautiful you know you're not two and a half pipe you really want to be far enough for your feet to not touch the water but at the same time you don't want to be too far out because you won't be able to make that dive and I'm sure by water you meant the tower because inevitably they'll get into the water yes and she does it very well I was still impressed with that entry at the water in the water all smiles 7.5 is for a total of 63 points for the French Here Comes Selena taught now with one of her more difficult Dives in this event inward three and a half somersaults tuck position no it's so close I know see it's one of her most difficult guys but she knows exactly how she do it she's strong enough to do it very easily unfortunately she hesitate for her come out to get that clean entry that I've seen her do coming out of those Dives you really have to chase for that water goal with all the energy you have no time for hesitation not a big Miss for Selena talk but definitely giving away a few points here sixes on the dive for the Canadian Emily Meaney from Australia now following this one with a forward three and a half pike position 3.0 degree of difficulty beautiful simple no major mistake no wow factor but very beautiful she could have been a little bit more Dynamic when she left the tower to get that speed going on right here beautiful Pike position and they would have been easier for her to be to break the water to get that clean entry and sometimes it's just about going back home and working on those entries with really really simple Dives getting the tightness in the bodies to get a few more points here but all in all a good dive from the Australian Here Comes Nikki agumbiadi she's won a medal on the Grand Prix circuit last year in Germany she knows what it takes to be in the top divers forward three and a half pike position for the American and well executed I really love how she went for it she had that speed going on beautiful packed position and she was able to get a clean entry right here she went for it beautiful pack position and good entry his legs tight together [Music] sevens for a total of 63 points for the American [Music] Here Comes The two-time Olympian from Great Britain Lewis Tolson she'll be doing an inward three and a half somersaults in the tuck position beautiful very hard time but easy for Lewis she jumps so high she has a beautiful position in the air look at that very high beautiful tuck position she come out and she knew exactly where she was to get that clean entry [Music] very nice dive see what the judges thought of it 7.5s and eight you can be happy with that gets the good nod from the coach Malaysia she'll be doing the exact same dive inward three and a half somersaults tuck position she's the bronze medalist from the London Olympic Games very first medal for her country in this sport Oh missing a little bit of of heights missing she she jumped a little bit too much down she she should have go really for it not Dynamic enough for this one exactly and her stuck position very beautiful toe pointed but she is the date up for her come out and that creates a momentum and that's the reason why she couldn't finish that entry judges will not miss that of course sixes to 6.5 59.20 gotta keep her energy level up here one more dive to go for the Malaysian Here Comes Sarah Joe Dwayne Di Maria of Italy with a back two and a half pike position still in the hunt not too far from metal contention here beautiful very very nice Marconi very happy with this diet and very happy look at that Pike position right here she sees the water two times and she knew exactly where to place her feet right there to get that beautiful entry [Music] Canadian board now representing Italy that gave her a chance to compete at the Olympic Games since Canadian divers are so strong here she is with eights for the back two and a half pike Here Comes her teammate mayabi jinelli she'll be doing the exact same dive 2.9 degree of difficulty no so unfortunate she jumps so high she's very powerful and she's really young so the beauty of it is she has so many years in front of her to get that that I've done and make sure that she knows how to control it unfortunately she come out way too late and way too early and that's the reason why she landed on her back with that power comes a lot of control and she will learn with time especially with just a simple back two and a half rotations full 10 meters to accomplish accomplish that and it's not a big feat for her to do all right up next now from Great Britain Andrea spendellini Siri X she'll be doing a reverse two and a half somersaults in the tuck position very easy die for her she will need to show that control and she just did she knows exactly where she is and that's the beauty of it because it's not a hard dive for her she jumps super high right here she's jumping high sees the water two times Place her feet at the perfect time to get that entry in full confidence knowing exactly where she is in space just a little far out from the platform but really this is a minimal detail 0.5 she can be very happy with a total of 71.40 points the beauty of it is when you do smaller dive but you know how to do it well it pays off massive dive coming up for her the back three and a half somersaults in the tuck position ing off a an ankle surgery just a few weeks ago now getting back into her regular training rhythm ah degree of difficulty here much more of a risk and she knows that she could have she she knows she missed it obviously but she jumped so high and for Kelly it's really to get that confidence she knows exactly where she is but she can't hesitate unfortunately she came out of her her talk position too early and that's the reason why she land on her back that is a Miss for the Canadian 4.5 are the scores for the dive here's Mary depiero coming in for a for a hug trying to give some positivity here it's not over it's not over yet one more dive to go for Kaylee up next now in the fourth round Yushi Chen of China she will be doing the exact same dive a back three and a half somersaults tuck beautiful Crowd Goes Nuts here at the pool in Montreal yes very happy see how she was designed on me she went but that jump have a great position and she plays her feet at the perfect place to get that beautiful lunchy right here I'm just gonna be very picky here she could Point her toes in the tuck position right here but everything else is just as close to Perfection as you're gonna see and once again you get a peek at the perfect Tens coming your way 9.5 9.5 and a 10 being retained for the dive she's very happy with her performance and you know it can seem very simple to point your toes but at that level if she's she's not doing it it's because for her it's hard but that makes the difference between a nine and a half and a ten let's see what her teammate Hong Chan Kwan Olympic champion from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics we'll have to say about that same dive simply beautiful and that's the reason why she's Olympic gold medal is she knows how to jump super high she her tuck position is just beautiful and then she knows exactly where she is well there's not much to say here I almost want to say that whatever was missing in the previous dive happened just perfectly right here here come the scores all tens except for one nine and a half that's being taken out so that's a perfect time 99 points on the fourth round for the Olympic champion she retains her lead Yushi Chen at Second Great Britain in third Selena Todd of Canada now in fifth place Kaylee Makai lots of work to do on the last round if she hopes to get back up in the rankings here wow that was spectacular that was a beautiful round one more round to go here's your third place diver right now Andrea spendolini series of Great Britain she has to stay focused to remain in that spot there's the leader right now in this event and you know the thing about it is there it's the last round so it's very hard to not lose your focus you have to keep it on the right Sarah Jordan di Marie of Italy she's also in contention to get a medal here currently in fourth place there's your second place diver right now Yushi Chan of China such high level diving we're witnessing here already thinking about the next dive kick off the fifth the fifth drill e of France she'll end the competition with a back two and a half one and a half twist Pike position ah just a tiny little bit missing at the end yes tiny tiny and that that is from the takeoff when you you jump and you go into that twist position you really need to get everything going through to get that Spike into that pipe to have that speed to finish your dive I was gonna say she could have had a just a bit of a tighter pipe position would have helped her out to complete the dive sixes on this one for the French she's happy with her performance all right Selena taught currently in fifth place with one more dive to go 3.3 degree of difficulty it's a big one she's looking at the Young Canadians cheering her on she'll be doing a back three and a half tuck very big dive for Selena she can't hesitate she has to give it all okay that's good good when I said she it's a very big hard drive for her and she has to give it all and that's the reason why she keeps it at the end because she needs all that energy she could have a better tuck position to really get that speed going on and to have more space for that come out and get that entry very good reaction from her she's very happy with that result five and a half but in hindsight she thinks about it she's happy with that result Cesar Anderson another Canadian diving coach Dallas Ludwig everybody's happy for her coaching staff happy with that performance up next now Emily meaning of Australia her last dive will be at back two and a half one and a half twist in the pipe position great finish for her very study yes very wasn't no wow factor no major mistake she could have jumped a little bit higher right here with her feet bringing up your feet so she can't get that twist position and that speed for that Pike so she she was in more control to get that clean entry screen there sevens for her last round that's where the hug from the coach he's also happy with her performance sorry from the United States of America her last dive will be an inward three and a half somersaults in the tuck position ah so unfortunate I thought she had it she had a great speed rotation maybe hesitate a little bit for that entry for that yeah for that entry right here visitation and when you do a big time like that you can't hesitate it's going to be costly in terms of the scores he knows there was a bit missing here five and a half and five for a total of 51.20 points gets to go home keep working at it get ready for the Olympic Games next year up next from Great Britain Lewis Tolson her last dive will be back two and a half one and a half twist in the pike position beautiful beautiful I would have loved her to have a little bit more control at the end because I was able to see the feet but that was to be very picky right here have a better control and get that entry very cleaner but it was a very beautiful dive solid performance on the last dive 7.5 for a total of 72 points waving to the crowds maybe her family at home are watching great performance from Lewis coming up now from Malaysia Panda Leila Pang her last dive will be a back two and a half one and a half twist as well 3.2 degree of difficulty ah missing a little bit of hype missing connection from the taker when you do that dive you really have to bring your feet right up to get into that twist and after your peg position and get that height to really finish that dive well and create that speed of rotation as well right off the top and that was missing here yes sometimes 10 meters is not enough to complete the dive and that's what just happened here four 4.5's disappointing finish for the experienced Malaysian diver Di Maria her last dive will be an arm Stand double somersault with one and a half twists it's not far off position Podium position here she'll need this dive to hope for a medal beautiful and you want to finish with a strong diving especially with like Saha that she's in a good potential of having a middle you want to finish with that wow factor these trunk shows complete control in the arm stand knows exactly where that vertical is beautiful life definitely putting enough pressure to potentially get him [Music] get him at 7.5 as well solid finish for the event [Music] all right here comes her teammate Nelly and her last dive will be back two and a half one and a half twist Pike position 3.2 degree of difficulty he's had a tough day so far the objective here is to finish strong okay she needed that that speed and like I said poor pandela when you do that dive you really want to have that connection right here to get that speed going on when you grab your pipe but unfortunately she will need to go back home and work on that because she definitely has the strength she just has to know and and learn how to use it now yes so lots of work to be done when she goes home we start improving on to the next competition very young so many years in front of her this is a learning curve for young Maya piginelli up next for her last time Andrea spendolini sirix of Great Britain she'll end the competition with a back two and a half one and a half twists Pike position she will need that dive to keep her third position beautiful very nice dive little hesitation at the entry and that could be the nerve because sometimes athletes are looking at those core boards so they know where they are she knew that she was play she was third so maybe that added a little bit of stress for her but in general it was a beautiful dive and just could have been a little bit tighter for that entry to be as clean as their previous round died a total of 70.40 that puts her in great position for a medal Coach Alex C is very happy so is she all right last dive now for Kaylee Makai she also wants to finish the event in a very convincive manner she'll be doing a back two and a half one and a half twist Pike position very successful dive for her oh like you said a very successful diaper Kaylee it's very easy and you can see when she's gonna leave the tower she has that connection she knows how to bring her feet up to get that twist and Pike position speed that she wants to get that beautiful entry always very important even for your own confidence to finish strong and that's exactly what Kaylee Makai does on the last dive she knows she can do better so does Mary Dem Caro iwali her coach giving the hugs right now [Music] Chen also finishing with a back two and a half one and a half twist and I'm going I'm gonna go ahead and say it I'm expecting very big scores here yes me too and I'm really looking forward they're really victims of their own success they set the bar so high that we expect very good diving here this is not specifically a difficult dive to accomplish for the Chinese divers [Music] talk about the the how much they have so much so many divers in China and so for them to keep that calmness in competition and they know that they have to do it well it's phenomenal their training system has been the same for a lot of years they train an incredible amount of hours every week repetitions repetitions and repetitions that's what makes them so near Perfection all pens are being retained for this time here for a total of 96 points monster scores here for Yushi Chan beautiful dive earlier here's her teammate she had a slight advance from the round before she needs this dive to be crowned the champion here at this world cup in Montreal very important for her to stay focused not get intimidated by those tents hung Chan Kwan and I'm glad you bring that up because witnessing such a beautiful nearly perfect dive just before can be quite distracting see what she comes up with here and she said she was very knew exactly what to do to get a very high score the Chinese diving fans going crazy here at the pool [Music] they've got they got a really great show set for them today and is always suspenseful because when you see two beautiful Dives we will see if the judges will love it as much as the previous one that was perfect 10. I have a feeling that those two divers have battles all the time and Hong Chan Juan ends up on top her last dive with nine and a halfs for a total of 91.20 beautiful so nice to see that filled with beautiful emotions such good sportsmanship here that is the sport of diving ladies and gentlemen wow that was some spectacular diving [Music] it's funny to see how they they are happy even though like she just did a dive and she had to stay in the zone absolutely unbelievable scores here 458.2438.90 for both Chinese divers Great Britain in third for Andrea spandolini the Canadian born Sarah Joe Dwayne Di Maria in fourth place Kaley McKay jumps back up to fifth place on the last round solid performance from the Canadians and of course the Chinese more diving coming up here from Montreal [Music] [Music] coming out very soon [Music] foreign thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign so much Montreal please welcome the medal ceremony for the women's 10 meter championship event platform the medals and gifts will be presented by representing the mayor of Montreal Virginia the winner of the bronze medal representing greater Britain representation [Music] winner of the silver medal representing People's Republic of China Republic winner of the gold medal and World Aquatics diving World Cup champion World Aquatics representing People's Republic of China Republic [Applause] thank you [Applause] diving fans please rise if you are able and join us for the national anthem of the People's Republic of China my name is foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] California [Applause] [Applause] foreign and her translator um you know what she took control right from the start right after dive one she had an eight and a half point lead and she got better as the competition progressed and moved on even getting six perfect scores in round four did she know right from the start after dive one that this gold medal was hers to keep and win um [Music] actually she didn't pay much attention to the scores after she died what he pay attention to is his techniques and the next mode I can tell she's right because I I saw her behind the tower between dice she's really really focused and had a blank look and she was very cool and collected now she's only 16. she's uh she's an Olympic gold medalist at 14 years old she's an Olympic world record holder now she's a world cup of diamond gold medalist I mean what's next where does she take it from here she's only 16. what are her wildest diving dreams from moving on everyone you got puppy thanks what kind of knew that because um foreign [Music] uh she didn't say it doesn't just think much about other things but she just focus on his um Dives each time and the focus um the common exercise every day and hope she can get more uh more better performance in future well right on and for the moment let's let her enjoy this feat and accomplishment congratulations young lady you deserve it gold medalist Quan Hong Chan congratulations foreign
