e [Music] look for for [Music] wow wow morning folks how are we all doing are you well um listen before we do anything just want to a big shout out to Kevin Beasley one of our members um here on big jet TV for giving us a head up on the dream lifter ladies and gents um I'm sure our members will be more than happy to share this with the world of Freeview before we jump back into our uh more calm and relaxed uh members only streams um later on but uh a very good morning to you we're live from Anchorage Alaska hope you're doing well um we have quite a number of aircraft down at the watering hle this [Music] morning so full in fact well I say full but remember we were talking yesterday about Keta sometimes occupying that stand down there well um this morning it's quite crowded down there with jumbo Jets how about that here's another one to join the party look I think it's a UPS jet though oh look Delta 737 going out Jil it's not the one we were on is it just out of osity oh yeah yeah look at this look at this come on C come on son keep up oh no he's going the other way oh wait God that was oh there we go there we are okay we are tracking the dream lifter folks one of four I think they're still operational Atlas Air are the The Operators of the aircraft I believe on behalf of Boeing to geese heading off to wherever they head off to the Bays one of the Bays um one of the inlets maybe I don't know but I hope you're all doing well got woken up with a text this morning are you awake I knew it I knew it as soon as you cuz you would normally you just wouldn't even bother Jill you wouldn't text me and you know this is a CS Global is going just changing my settings standby so is uh Captain Manny um was with us yesterday one of our uh one of our members here on big jet TV one of our pilot members um he flies those uh FedEx Tri 7s still early door 6:26 a.m. we are early of course which is kind of standard uh par for us isn't [Music] it the sun glinting off those mountain peaks man and just just have a look at that imagine waking up to that every bleeding morning mate look at this it's just like the old 73 we LA on a it [Music] Jil yeah Captain Manny Fedex pilot oh does he oh okay okay oh Caroline teag has gifted 10 memberships Thank You Caroline and hodkinson is a new member welcome to first class uh Caroline Phil Loom welcome back Phil um looks like it's going to be a few more people joining us uh this is the Northern end of the Airfield here at Anchorage if you're unfamiliar with the uh with the layout of the Airfield um this is the far Northern end of the Airfield they got um they got three runways here uh as far as I'm aware this is the Atlas ramp and um we're hoping that this is where uh the dream lifter will be parking uh For What appears to be I believe a tech stop um so polar are also um on that ramp part of atos a group disc discussed that yesterday um with the um interesting information coming from um scriu that it was uh that they're actually just a paper airline are po uh because um they are actually um parts of the atlas a group um and Atlas a operate polar uh in order to um get around certain routs I believe Leslie McIntosh has gifted a membership thank you lesli so the um the ramps over at UPS there just come back quickly and briefly uh to show you um ever's Air Cargo over there normally yesterday we had three of their dc9 in town uh so they're obviously out on operations uh so they will be back and behind that you can see parked the dc6 which we're hopeful we might see she may have gone Tech I don't know they may have um even uh I don't think they've stopped operating her but um I do know that there are um plans to to uh to get newer aircraft for more modern aircraft for Ev Air Cargo got an absolutely fantastic um a fantastic segment yesterday that we filmed all female crew I say all female crew just uh um first officer at a part uh captain and first officer um flying down to Ontario uh watch that back if you get a chance if you're a new member or if you're a existing member and you missed yesterday's show yesterday's um test stream six hours long wow look at that man Ian rol is a returning member welcome back in dream lifter showing about 30 minutes out call sign GT is that 14536 J Watson thank you Leslie McIntosh just want someone to enjoy this beautiful experience in Anchorage it is just unbelievable isn't it uh Steven office good day to you Stephen just got to take in breathe in the beauty um cloudless this morning so far [Music] [Music] so that's the normal sort of like uh standard departure route that they take about um 10 seconds or just as soon as the gear doors have finished closing uh they crank it left possibly something related to the um the military base um and approaching aircraft Leonardo is a brand new member welcome Leonardo um or or is it just Leonardo uh good day to you my friend um but it sounds much better that way doesn't it Leonardo hey Leo or Leo is he called Leo I don't know his M his mat's call him Leo maybe I don't know um what a shot that is 767 head on Jimmy g61 yeah 747-8 and now the great thing is this is a 400 so we'll hear her taxiing up Arro arrow and she went to number one on flight oh yes yes yes our um UPS pilot um and I've seen her before I'm pretty sure I've seen her before um [Music] Captain Allison Young Blood um was flying that UPS jet with her first officer uh Le Carter I think it is it leel le le C leel uh and leel the uh first officer on that 747 former colonel in the US Air Force and Captain young blood has cled Mount denar wow quite a pair of overachievers as he says good morning Ian hope everybody's well oh this is the Malaysian converted jet is it the other three are China Jets I believe wow so this dream lifter thank you hji uh this dream lifter that we're we're waiting on there's two things I'm hopeful here for is that she's going to take this track that you're seeing here and come and park up at the atlas stands um the sun needs to get up to be honest with you because at the moment it's causing me serious issues with um with light but I'm sure we'll uh I'm sure we'll get around it we've got what oh 20 minutes Brandon RAB Alex Hilton um yeah uh interesting this um this particular dreamlifter uh hji confirming that it is the Malaysian ex Malaysian freighter uh sorry passenger jet uh all these are are lcfs all of the dream lifter Fleet four of them operated by Atlas Air um originally conceived because of the fact that um Boeing were having trouble transporting um aircraft uh parts or components um for the Dreamliner program so uh in terms of um in terms of them uh bringing them by SE Freight because they were just too big uh the components were too big for containers so what they did was they developed um the dream lifter interestingly enough the um the dream lifter does not have like the cargo jets these cargo 747s that you're seeing here obviously because it's a uh an X passenger aircraft it never had the nose load capability um so they use a swingtail load system which interestingly enough uh is operating using an old container um a shipping container vehicle um which sort of like manles those huge big that huge big um swing no swing tail uh unbelievable when we when when I'm hopeful that she won't Park up down there I'm hopeful that she won't uh end up down at the water hole there um I'm hopeful that she'll be up here uh and if she is then we'll obviously catch her right opposite talk about her we can have a good look at her look at all the bits and Bobs bits and oh look at c-47 is that c47 uh c47 c17 it isn't [Music] it he'll be making his way around do a sh a loop left and then uh end up coming past us again so keep an eye out for that folks MD 111's here as well that's the FedEx ramp down there looking quite uh empty at the moment of course got some feeder aircraft down there atrs that do the regional feeder um and even smaller feeder aircraft that go out to places like don't Nan Tucket and stuff like that [Music] modifications for the um what's that oh that's wow they have nine 4 million gallon tanks did you say Jill wow wow 36 million gallons of fuel um stored here at Anchorage and I'm guessing it must be uh oh yeah they're around the corner aren't they they're around the corner we don't get to see them unless we're over the other side that is just fantastic what an honor to get um I mean it's it's an honor when we get anyone to number one to be honest with you but um now depending on which direction she's coming in from GP we could get her on approach as well who was it who asked that about the fuel Jil was it Sarah did you say Sarah deal thank you Sarah great question great question uh Ellie shernoff the standard departure requires turn to 300 heading to heading to 600 ft head sorry heading at 600 ft requires turn to 300 3 so um is that is that uh the standard departure route Ellis that you're talking about that is that to avoid the um the military approach pattern because there is obviously um the approach pattern into Elman DWF I think it is John DAV is not sure about living in Anchorage in the Deep winter oh in the Deep winter it depends on how resilient you are really doesn't it you will obviously adapt to the winter conditions um at least you're guaranteed it's going to be snowy I've been here yeah in the Deep mid wi hav I I mean no okay well March is close enough in it was cold put it that way but it's beautiful absolutely beautiful picturesque Ana Von field got my coffee ready for the night I hope I got that pronunciation right Anna Mike Del 11 good morning to you melody CPR C7 out of Elmdorf there we go uh that was it that c17 uh that we just saw KW green any Bombardier -8 at Anchorage uh there are aren't they I I think we've got a couple of freighter [Music] variants operate I think pretty sure we yesterday didn't we they were uh I think they were I don't know if they were what what variant they were the long one put it that way matat lady last Saw Jerry coming out of Popeyes last night then fell asleep [Music] ow yeah we do have a um a quite a healthy contingent of um of big jets down at the watering hole all feeding in the trough there you can see oh my goodness me we're get an even how if you can even get a more spectacular of Town wow I mean come on hopeful that uh sure we're going to get to see the usual uh array of aircraft coming in going out um dc9 I'm sure we'll get a dc9 haven't so far didn't get any of the lyen uh c130s but hopefully today at least one of the lyen c130s will be operational in fact I tell you what that one down there looks like that might be getting worked on is that an ice cream van at the front of it Peter hippard uh pet T but sorry the Beluga is bigger in volume than the dream lifter uh okay interesting of course the dreamlifter I don't think what stage were they at with the Beluga they were just at the early um belugas weren't they 2006 was that around about the time that the dream lifter uh took to the skies Suzie b a real life pain in Ken passing mph is that a new hanger no uh mph they are open covers for fighter jets interestingly enough because there was once a fighter station here at Anchorage and that's the uh that's the other way just about saw that Atlas yet see if I can uh so he's landing on the sevens there's seven left and seven right down there I think you're going to be um amazed folks if you uh well you've kind of already had a taste of what it what it's like to have these aircraft come past us at immense speed and we're going to get more [Music] digital David silkway was oh okay it's giving someone a uh in information on how to join um no mooses I saw a moose on the way up here um I don't know if it was the same one it looks very similar one we saw yesterday um this is one of take this um as you can see it's quite a narrow um that's where the Moose episode actually happened down there I'm a little bit higher up on the ridge here today because of that snow Mound there which the lower you go the more that obscures your view um but you know I don't care I don't care I don't care got he comes around here got I don't care he comes around here sorry Chris Clark has gifted a membership thank you Chris this is a peculiar um airplane in terms of It's A peculiar airplane in terms of its looks folks um if you're familiar with the Beluga um then you will uh you will you you'll understand what we're talking about in terms of um airlift oversized um components this particular program the 747 dream lifter was developed for the dream [Music] liner yeah go on son that could be coming up here now you see we want to keep I'm just having a look over the uh looking over the field at the moment oh I wonder if that I wonder if that um 747 that's parked over there Jil was the one that had the the the um the nose load issue oh hji thank you dream lifter converted in 2010 all five of them the first Airbus Beluga was built in 1995 there was a transition period yeah um partially initially the lcf conversion was partially designed uh by Boeing's Moscow Bureau they won't be there anymore will they hey hey hey um and also Boeing rocket dine rocket dine uh with the swingtail designed in partnership with game s aeronautica of Spain the cargo portion of the aircraft is unpressurized uh unlike the hydraulically supported nose section on a 747 freighter the tail is opened and closed as I said by a modified shipping container handling truck and locked to the rear fuselage with 21 electronic actuators much the same as what you get with the nose um uh actuators on the um on the 74 s I've seen it I've witnessed it and you can witness it as well um where they literally select to close the actuators and then electronic Motors will wind the actuators in and uh and lock the um or push the actuators in it's a crow I bet it's a crow I bet it's a crow it's not a bir of pray is it it's a crow it's a crow Elevate okay keep an eye out for the old blah Blas so the four aircraft that Boeing acquired uh for the dream lifter program um it's I'm I'm I'm intrigued to know why they but well actually to be honest with you the reason why the reason why they didn't I can I can I can see i' I've basically answered my own question the reason why they didn't use a Pure freighter variant was because the the the size of the parts that they needed to fly uh to handle uh were too big to go in through the nose so they basically acquired uh so it wouldn't have been used if if it was at all it would have been uh because because of the position of the cockpit where is being where it is um that that and also the um you know just the the C the the the option of been I mean they they they've cut this thing in half haven't they literally um to modify and when you see all the bolts and they are you know it's not subtle um rivets like we get to see where you don't see this is like the side of the Titanic basically when you see all the bolts and the fixings where they fix the body uh to the fuselage uh it's and and and it's it's it's sort of like very squared off as opposed to the Beluga which is a far more sort of like Slender curved um has a has a more slender look about it this this looks like pretty brutal actually it almost looks like a 747 it looks like a um an anaconda that swallowed a donkey so four aircraft um two one one for former China two former China Airlines and this one that we're seeing today the Malaysian Airlines aircraft so they would have been um extended decks they would have obviously I'm imagining that maybe um Boeing did a deal with the operators with with the um Malaysian and China uh just because the aircraft may have been at that point coming towards uh the end of their their contractual obligations and uh well you see that atas it's it's quite a little bit frightening because we don't know where the dream LIF is going to end up folks I'm just hopeful that they're going to bring her up this end got one aircraft on the stand up here [Music] [Music] and that's not just me saying it folks I mean if you look on Wikipedia the 747 lcfs unusual appearance has drawn comparisons to the Oscar mayor wine WEA mobile I can see that I can see that okay Google that Oscar mayor WEA [Music] mobile yeah yeah yes so that's quite funny and the Hughes H4 Hercules um it is an oddl looking thing I have to say Spruce Goose that is uh due to its ungainly form and that's coming from Wikipedia folks exac exacerbated in that the first airplane remained unpainted for some time uh due to the need for immediate testing Boeing commercial airplanes praise president Scott Carson jokingly apologized to 74 seven designer Joe Sutter that he was sorry for what you he had done to the plane wow how about that well you'll see exactly what I'm talking about folks yes it is a it is a um it kind of looks like something you find around the a bit of a cut and shut you know yeah we do that for you mate yeah yeah yeah yeah give me a cut there give it a cut a to pull it out do that I'll get John to bring the steel down yeah he's got loads of bits of bubs got some spare aluminium hanging around yeah yeah got lots of bolts yeah it be all [Music] right in fact interestingly enough uh if you look back on one of our shows uh I actually have got the um converted aircraft um uh in its primer form the model of it uh from Aviation retail direct so there you go it is available I kind of prefer it in that it's a bit like the uh the a350 ulr um prototype not so much prototype but so well it was was it at that stage of prototype I don't know but uh it's also quite UNG gamely the way in which they uh not so much load and offload but operate the uh the swing tail on this of course other famous swing tales of the past gone by uh swingtail cl44 um my old man it's a dman he was a dustman's get um [Music] my old man flew the can the um the um Tradewinds cl44 swingtail uh Susanna uh Susanna was very active on the chat yesterday asking about nose updates I don't know did we get the regge of that aircraft that was um that had the the um the uh problems with that piece of freight uh if you remember I I don't recall which aircraft it was we'll have I'm sure I've picked up the red somewhere um so I'd obviously want to um uh compare that with this one but I can't do anything at the moment because it's got uh there's nothing on the system is in terms of um not on radar or anything so we can't see which one that is but um I'm just wondering whether it might might be that's all uh whether they've had to um repackage hello mate package the um the piece of freight because it didn't fit did it uh just look over there see if kift has all gone all that stuff's not there we got somebody waiting here it's always a good thing to see when you see stuff like that so that someone waiting to receive the dream lifter um and also we got somebody standing here as well is that somebody stand yeah there couple of fellas having a chat right so couple of handlers there normally they would not be out on the ramp they would normally be um nice and is it is is somebody wanted a dashy look here we go [Music] excellent yeah guessing that's what they call him in Australia a it dashies so yeah I'm I'm pretty hopeful is it Timmy yes sir hello mate good to see you mate you're a lucky man aren't you Sun's kind of brutal this morning yeah but it's all right um but we need it a little bit higher so that we can I'm hopeful that the uh the um dreamlift is going to be parked up there from what I'm seeing with the activity on the apron they are waiting for something so where is where is it right now GP okay so she's coming in on sevens yeah so we will get we will get a brief glimpse of her through the trees over there so we'll don't you worry about it folks we'll just monitor it what's that mate you what am I in the no just if you're sitting down you're all good mate uh Todd Roy few dash8 flying over Canada every day Craig B old J so many planes on ra are at Ted Stevenson right now there we go um yes well yeah zoom out a little bit and you'll see a a sve literally a u um almost a a tsunami of aircraft inbound oh Moody DC3 departing soon is that the uh converted one or is that the uh the one with the um the radials hopefully it is I don't think we're going to be nothing's coming off the dream lifter folks so unfortunately we're likely to see the tail uh being swung open but um I'm just we've we've got to pray that she comes up this end of the Airfield Fire Island now yeah I should be able to see her soon need to get my footing ready oh okay Nick gr is a turbo prop conversion the DC3 still be a good departure that just hasn't got that sort of like uniquness about it um because it does look odd with turbo prop conversions as opposed to um the radial I can hear it there she comes there she comes okay let's see if we can uh obviously there she is we're obviously going to get her rolling out folks this is just a this is an absolute honor to to catch this aircraft today um we've been we've been here four times is this our fifth visit jile or is it our fourth it's our fifth visit and this is uh something that we've been hopeful to see she has a lud us yeah yeah yeah but Kevin thank you Kevin Beasley so much for uh there she is that's it that's all you get to see I'm already joking T I think they're waiting for up for our up here these guys look they look like they're definitely waiting for a jet now the question is is it going to she's number one look at the size of the hinges man monsters look at it it's it's it's gets more weird the more you look at it I never knew that the designer well the the the guy that was involved in the in the project for this actually messaged Jo well wouldn't have messaged Joe Suter would he cuz messaging wasn't around it would sent him well said M I think did it it was possibly face to face sorry about what I've done to your beautiful airplane it's got good Livery isn't it oh I'll tell you what it's going out intersect on 7 I think [Music] [Music] wow It it's just odd in it it's just very very odd mate [Music] wow man this camera is just the bee knees in it look at there's three aircraft doing engine runs look got Squadron coming out [Music] Greg McMillan uh is it Greg McMillan yes indeed operated by Atlas a uh all four aircraft operated by at and the reason for that is because I'm guessing uh Boeing um would rather have it's a bit like uh it's a bit oh mdlm landing on uh it's a bit like having YouTube look after all of our Logistics because that's what we that's what they do for us and this is a bit like the same sort of deal that they've got going with Atlas a and Boeing um because Boeing have gone right well it it's going to involve a we'd need multiple departments and so on and so so forth to uh to operate this whereas at there can do it at a cost obviously but uh Captain Manny the beach 900 Buzz Squadron Nathan p Russy T Alan shadbolt never seen a dream lifter looks like it's pellet on its back wi but functional yes 40,000 cubic uh meters uh 40,000 cubic meters is it feet great news is that she's coming out this inil that's part one taken care of a't it h yes say a little pray for me and look at this this is one without any winglets on it that's interesting is it some I think a couple of them still got them on oh wow Todd interesting this is unique in its own way a't it it's a it's a brute this thing man looks like it's been yeah it does look like it's been stung and it needs a it needs an antihistamine injection get the swelling down [Music] [Music] look [Music] [Music] I don't put her behind that don't put a behind the other one they're putting a behind the other one man ah It Go they're going long on it I think oh sh I mean hold on a minute yeah she's going behind it I think I think is she is she no she's coming this side I think it's this side I think it's this side yes a [Music] so somebody asking about the tail 747sp tail uh no these are all from uh converted 747400 Jets interesting to see the um the fact that they've removed the 400 the- 400 winglet um for whatever reason I'm not sure because obviously the winglet improves the efficiency of the aircraft but maybe just for aerodynamic reasons I don't know but I believe that uh one or two of the other aircraft um dreamlifters do have the 400 Wing lit interesting to see the crew rest area obviously um because they that I'd imagine there's not much um space behind the crew where there'd normally be um a crew rest area as you can see on that jet there so the um the beginning of the modifications in fact they've uh added a door there haven't they um they've had an es uh uh um Escape door I'm [Music] guessing oh she's leaving at 850 okay so [Music] in well I I guess we've got to ask the members really J don't we okay so we're just we're just looking at the departure uh estimated departure supposedly around about 850 this morning uh so about an hour and 40 minutes from now uh it is literally just a tech stop just rolling her in position there oh they've just hooked her up that's why okay okay folks we're going to run we're going to run um you know let you guys decide really um because uh do we carry on running the um the free view as it is up until her departure and then the rest of everything is all going to be members only look at those two queens next to each other [Music] man un obscured [Music] view yeah Lord geeker first seeing a dream I think it's I think this is um the first time for many certainly the first time for me in the flesh um you can we're going to have to wait till later when the light is better folks because then I'll be able to pick up the the basically where the two two parts come together uh they've obviously built another fairing there you can see they've added a fairing on the uh to to to kick the air flow up and over it um CU otherwise that would probably you know the finish of that frontal section there is quite brutal in terms of like you know uh obviously would have created um aerodynamic issues but that fairing that you can see that sort of like wedge that they put in there is obviously one of the many modifications that they've done to this thing oh is that uh I think those I think crew steps around the left hand side as per normal I think it's all the same uh remember it's a it's a it's a um a passenger originally a passenger aircraft so I'd imagine they would have left the stairs in there uh probably um because it sort of like it there's no reason to uh to to to make any sort of like internal modifications um other than what's at the back that huge great big container literally and uh there you can see the back end of the aircraft the hinge oh wello here we go look yeah Lord geeker I'd love to have a look around her as well wow chat's just going too quick to slow mode on hit the slow mode button and uh okay Aiden Campbell he's gifted a membership thank you Aiden there may have been quite a few people who gifted or joined um uh whilst we were uh whilst I was uh filming the dreamlifter um I just wanted to sort of like um for editing purposes I wanted to there another one keep me mouth shut if you know what I mean look there's another jumbo is that Cath Pacific I think it is that would be a dash a I would imagine Captain Manny thank you he has gifted five memberships kitty cat chat has also uh sounds like a great name for a channel doesn't it jell yeah oh really like it yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah but I think it's I it's a lovely name for for a channel is it fnf check yeah Ian Hannah run freev view we might get some more members joining Aiden Campell well folks can I just say okay and I said this to Jilly yesterday it's really important that you understand we don't do the um uh the you know we we we turned off Super Chat because it's quite sort of like we don't want to make people feel in any way pressurized about about about giving money I know other channels across the world in terms of like you know and we're not talking about Aviation specifically we're talking about all channels uh some are more sort of like hellbent on raising as much money as they can in Super Chat and it constantly interferes with the whole thing from what I can see um we work on a different provisor where we do gifting which basically means it's off it's giving people the opportunity to come in uh rather than just going in our pockets it's it's it's giving to other people um who are may maybe a little less fortunate or who just want to try big jet TV membership uh for the first time um and it's it's great because we do get a lot of people who um who uh who who stay around after being gifted membership look at him get a bit of a getting a bit of a um a draft off those engines potentially flying bedstead flying bedstead likes the M very Democratic C5 Allen uh welcome back C5 Allen he's a returning member Robbie Whitley's gifted five memberships um Quality mobile video gifted five memberships thank you so much folks it's not about it's it's uh Alan Dy is a new member as well good morning Allan uh welcome to Big jet TV it's it's more about sharing Aviation as a Community around world and and it's just a far nicer way of doing it oh hello okay I'll read this one out because he's because he's made a he's made a fair comment jul uh non-member I'm just going to I'm going to read it out pilot David dreamlifter has the cockpit and stairs to the old front first class section as the cargo area is loaded from the back indeed 747 freight loads from the front so yeah exactly that's what that's what I was mentioning earlier the reason why the uh Boeing designers decided on a a 400 passenger variant rather than the swing nose because the swing nose would have been too small uh because let's remember it's um you know that that the back of the dream lifter has a much lower floor to it this has quite a high floor on it so you are limited what you can get in through the nose um of a 747 freighter like this uh which is why they went for the passenger variant but here we go 747-8 welcome Piper G NX the power of two Dreamliners right here folks listen out for the wheels wow yeah [Music] wow it's it's yeah so so the um the whole thing with um we can't turn gifting off is what I'm saying folks we can't turn it off I have asked Jill before can't we just turn no you can't turn it off and we've got to speak to uh YouTube about that and they do listen to us folks because the reason I'm saying that is because I don't want to put people under pressure the whole reason for the free view is not to get more members the reason well it is to get more uh viewers and more people aware of it and exposing it to to to to to people around the world it's not to get more income or paying members or anything like that I would switch it off if I could um because you know I want I'd want to say you know it's it's Freeview but um members just sit back relax and talk and chat and watch the whole show don't get involved or worry too in any way about the gifting stuff we can do that on other shows um you know before they've opened that R1 door haven't they okay they've just got the R1 door open on the dream lifter back to that after this big old Triple 7 here we go are you saying welcome you thank you just because okay good thank you so Jil is uh taking care of uh saying hello to new members with returning members and also thanking them for any of the um the the gifting and all that kind of stuff that I uh sometimes and very regularly Miss due to um uh having my eyes everywhere around the field [Music] y yeah that's a proper emoji is isn't it that's a proper grumpy Emoji a it you that he's angry now look look at him look you have some of this he [Music] say just PR yes kick wow yeah wow okay R1 got jumbo lined up Keta jet coming out okay so uh it's just there's the pilots yeah there's the crew leaving the aircraft now there may be uh very possibly because I know that a lot of Atlas Air crew are based here in Anchorage so the [Music] uh wow Captain Manny thank you so much thank you everybody who does give memberships and everybody who supports the channel even if it's just you know through whatever means by um by just enjoying it that's what it's all about it's it's like showing off your train set for me it [Music] is Zoe B sounds absolutely amazing with headphones what a beautiful Alaska morning well there's some more for you Zoe jumbo jet and this is going to be old school Pratt Whitney or CF6 [Music] oh she's growling man yeah oh my God man how gnarly was that wow so I'm guessing it's a it's a crew change and a uh and the fuel up one of the handlers or dream lifter uh Joanna B the reason why the dream lifter is shaped like it is is so that it can transport parts of the dream liner um she she was used during the um covid pandemic to trans sport um PPE uh but other than that it's primarily for transporting a Dreamliner parts and mainly Wings fuselage all that kind of thing going on to Charleston um is it is Charleston North or South Carolina South Carolina uh okay but yeah what a crazy thing Penelope what a time to join the stream wow uh iky saying um I think this is the biggest aircraft I've ever seen well yeah I mean uh iky as you're a as you're a a member then um you'll um probably be joining us down in toou in in the coming weeks um definitely planning a um a too trip if you've just joined us folks this this is the uh dreamlifter specialist Transport Aircraft an lcf converted freighter uh Boe 747400 um which as an example I can't really show you oh actually hold on a minute there we go and that's quite rare actually I have to say Atlas Air um that's that's uh that is a 400 um jet that you're seeing there so that's an X passenger jet uh the difference between the Freighters the pure Freighters um like these ones with the 100 front I call it the 100 front because it is more or less identical to the original 747 400 uh um 100 front end um and 200 as well uh uh but the reason why they uh they they used that shorter um design on the on the freight is because in order to maximize the amount of internal space they've got uh because if you can appreciate that the uh the floor of that upper hump uh has to stretch all the way back and Beyond um the um the end of that fairing as as I call it um that Upper Deck fairing um so so obviously it makes perfect sense to use the original uh shorter uh front end in order to maximize the space that they can get in there um but for the reason for uh using a 400 aircraft with the dream lifter is because they it was pointless them using a um it was pointless was that it was pointless them using a a [Music] freighter uh because the the the the nose load is not what they were looking for uh um because as you can appreciate there if you put the the the crank the nose up on that you know if it was a you know you'd have it would be a much bigger operation in terms of structural integrity and all that so um they picked the 400 passenger jet would have separated the um everything after of the sort of like first stage I would have said of the bulkhead the the the forward bulkhead of the of the 747 chopped that all out and and and and uh uh chopped the sides off the top off obviously they would have supported it they've built the um the entire it appears that they've built the entire midsection the actual tube itself and dropped it in perhaps uh literally um dropped it in eased it in uh so as to not affect the the wing rots and all that kind of stuff cuz you're only touching the wing Roots that's for sure um it it appears to me that it is segments that have been dropped in of course the tail uh that whole tail there you can see the split there which is the the the that that where where it opens up and the the hinge uh for the um is on the other side for the tail um but the tail section of course is just and they've modified it as well with new bigger fairings there so there must have been quite a substantial amount of um modification in terms of literally tearing the thing in half oh [Music] going to check this soon so it's the uh it's the general consensus of opinion that we're going to continue on with the uh the free view the GP here okay they've all been positive that's fantastic wow 91% we're hearing um thank you everybody and um look you know at the end of the day we are a community so we like to listen to what you um decide on after all it is you who are uh uh um supporting the channel and um and allowing us to come out here so we will obviously always take your um listening to to to to what you guys say I have to be honest with you um I don't think we've ever had a situation where sorry Freeview but the members have said no oh cuz such a generous lovely bunch of people Digger has gifted a membership thank you Digger backdrop mountains reminds me of Bob Ross painting uh says nol J Bob Ross Les Donaldson uh looks okay doesn't seem to be descending LFC Ian screaming emuse here uh Denise Donley Michael buner what engines do they use on the dream lifter great question Michael uh I like that I love to I'll just stall a question like that looks to me I'm guessing that the the the the the the other aircraft I don't know if they're all running the same uh engine plants but I think these are pratton witness on this particular aircraft uh maybe you can have a have a little look at that and this is quite this sun is is quite like Timmy said um it is quite brutal but it has moved already which is a good thing yeah I don't I it's um it's either going to be SE F6 or or or Pratt Whitney um the uh the other aircraft I'm just waiting for someone to come up Pratt Whitney oh they are Pratt yeah yeah yeah I did say Pratt Whitney pw4000 different uh uh variants of the pratton Whitney uh Power Plant they've got there's also a pw4000 variant that powers the Triple 7 as well isn't there um so I'm guessing it's the uh the the pw4000 is the equivalent of the Trent program would that be right and then different different numbers oh Aiden Campbell saying cf80 they pratton Whitney CF6 Pratt Whitney um General Electric Pratt Whitney pw4000 AR they but okay now here's an interesting thing if you look at that the reason why I said um uh the pratton witness was because the uh the back exhaust cone that you can see there the darker one is covering over the pointy cone that we've seen before on the show on the CF6 um I've got nothing that I've got where I can see a CF6 cone but you'll kind of know what I'm talking about if you look at the back end of the CF6 normally um like you see on the a330s and 760 767s uh I think um not all of them have that cone that cover over them so they okay so I'm getting I'm getting two conflicting things here some people saying they're CF 6s some people saying they're Pratt witness you got to look at the regge folks um it's based on the reg uh because there were obviously two a China um this is the X Malaysian 747 uh 400 there was uh two Chinas and one uh Air China I [Music] think okay well um yes there's a mixture of CF6 and pratton Whitney on the fleet of four that they have this particular one are the pratton Whitney so sometimes you might see a um a sleeve like that but the reason why I'm I'm saying that these are pratton witness is because of the midsection there is quite stubby the CF6 is is a little bit longer um but I I do Jerry's luggage Left Behind bit odd in it James gay welcome to premium James the dream lifters aircraft's winglets were to resolve excess vibration and other handling characteristics prior to final certification sailor Mike thank you I did think that it would be an aerodynamic U issue um so maybe caused a bit of wing flutter or something because of extra um aerodynamic because obviously when they built the 747 and did the aerot tests on it you know they wouldn't have had a dirty great big um toilet roll in the midle or um uh hand towel roll isn't it uh but anyway so that's probably the reason why they dropped the the winglet when I talk about the winglet folks again there's there's nothing on in view that I can show you obviously there you go right down there those two they're two 400 I think that's a uh a um legit 400 freighter obviously got the uh got the winglet on it there's the winglet fence style winglet is what it's termed as oh jet coming out a take and here moving out from the watering hole having gorged on all its fuel andair jet [Music] an overlay audio to H cuz that's what they like down there aren't they look at them all okay that's uh that's nicely exposed that oh yeah look at that man Dave yley um no we'll not be going to the pl plane Boat Harbor it's frozen my friend um it's going to be a couple of months well at least another month I would have thought before that's uh that lake is Frozen uh uh is defrosted it's a little tiny patch uh I noticed last night but um no uh the only activity that we're seeing is there is a um there is a um a gravel strip um I'm just trying to get my bearings in terms of where the harbor uh where the I think that might be it there is that the um that [Music] oh the hotel at lakeh hood is that it kind of there but anyway over there Lake Hood um you can hear the the stuff going on down here when you're down at lakehood gets quite noisy during the uh the summer months because the it just it's just gets very busy over there but most of the stuff that we saw yesterday was from the uh dirt strip I don't know I think it's a dirt strip they might it might be um it might be concreted I don't know but anyway there is a dirt strip that they operate those big pneumatically tired um you know those huge great big things that can land on gravel and and escarpments and and I think they have competitions didn't didn't didn't actually um oh cock's coming out as well mate here we go and [Music] now David at him bro it's quite harsh that sun in it on the eyes on on the old mince pies mate Paul K just Lov the 747 Lake jumper screaming am is that what they called Lake [Music] jumpers digital David yeah welcome everyone hope you're doing well live from Anchorage big jet TV first time we know we get a lot of people hang out in the lurkers lounge um hello to everybody in the lurkers lounge hope you're well it's a bit like The Green Room isn't it before they come on stage here we go caral 747-8 given the dash dash8 numbers uh in ident uh due to the uh technology that they used from the Dreamliner some technology wing tip technology [Music] engines oh where we go papa papa Echo a good question we'll discuss that in a moment [Music] yeah if you if you're if you're uh if you're um if you're being gifted membership don't don't don't use this don't use it as some platform to to to air your dirty washing mate we'll just boot you out simple as that so uh you know you talk it just just don't don't you know obviously you know talking um you're talking yeah so uh would the dreamlifter uh Papa Echo Papa Echo would the dreamlifter fuselage support 4G e90s no definitely not um the biggest they could go potentially would be maybe an um well to be honest with you those those engines of of you know they're perfect for the platform this is a 400 is it is this a 400 I think it is is it hold a minute yeah this is a four isn't it well I don't know though look at those big engines hold on a minute no they're definitely GES and [Music] they the G NX [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] menal that was so cool man and you know what I've spoken with uh a couple of UPS pilots who fly the um the the 747 uh -8 and they have mentioned they have comment on how they literally cringe uh as they're um hurtling towards the end of the runway because they do use full Runway with those Gen X engines on the on the dash eights Raptor X that one off to Miami thank you I I I didn't B either or to be honest with you they are just fantastic in they um Jedi Master PP on the dream lifter Pratt Whitney 63,000 of thrust uh yeah uh somebody mentioning that they they bolted the g90 to the 100 yes they did but that was a that was a test platform that was a test program um don't think you'd be able to put uh well you could do if you want to put but I think they tear the possibly tear the wing off um if you put g9s on a um on a uh on a 747 100 Wing but um they'd obviously have to reinforce the the um the the mechanism that um the braces that basically hold the engines in onto the aircraft that whole framework would have to be um quite heavily modified I'm sure that they were on the um on the test aircraft but uh and and that was an amazing sight to see wasn't it to see the ge90 uh alongside um I don't know if they were CF 6s or or Pratt whitness I imagine uh the GE platform they'd want to have uh they'd want to have um yeah it was the GE platform wasn't it using a Boeing 74700 so they would have been CF 6s alongside those big uh ge 90s just incredible man Kristen Stein thank you Kristen giting 10 memberships apologies to anybody who I've missed Todd Roy that's a good one actually that's uh crazy looking a now we believe that did you say one something J no 8 something isn't it 850 or something is going yeah so another hour folks and we should have this thing on radar um what will be the Telltale sign of IM departure will be um that R1 door closing let have a [Music] sa such what GP oh really oh no mate what can't you reboot or anything like that all right okay yeah we got anybody on that flight deck yet no one yet Vulcan Linn that's one ugly plane um you know what I I it's oh oh look there's those birds again someone's going to tell us cuz that crew came over yesterday morning about this time didn't it Julie White ing grits or something like that I don't know eits or cool you don't want that lot that lot flying through your [Music] uh flying well it wouldn't be anything else would they course something loud's just landed this is one for a screaming EMA it's a jump cath Pacific cath Pacific [Music] I'm sure uh I'm sure that uh that was quite interesting wasn't it screaming emu's um you know uh remarks about the uh we knew about the we knew about the seat issues with the seat didn't we um but um came to light that apparently also there's a um there's a there's a an air conditioning fan very um um strategically positioned shall we say um in the on in in the in the in the um restroom on the embra E1 the imraa sorry Martin Mark Osborne ugly but practical absolutely that's what it's what it's you know at the end of the day here we go engine round [Music] yeah they weren't geese they definitely weren't geese they're sort of like pointy Wing white scuba steve they geese didn't look like geese to [Music] me yeah the old this SW oh National 747 XX jet an lcf or a BCF is it uh what's actually I are getting longer longer before starts yeah what settings in it is yeah yeah that's YouTube that's a a YouTube thing unfortunately there nothing to do with us we don't have any control over what what what gets played out on YouTube F unfortunately I have to say but um you know okay um becoming a little bit more manageable now with the with the sun oh Brent geese Nick dark thank you noty grits for sure little moo uh Nick great gr uh Brent geese there we go oh is that that aloh hard jet coming out that little 737 I think it is isn't it it's a nice uh Livery isn't it that little uh it's a 300 was it three or four 300 freighter with the um the the C uh CFM 56 engine uh the and as another another play joins oh here we are Ben Brown's in the house a lwh heart Air Cargo 77 300 taxiing at xbm baby wow xpmi wow good bit of info there thank you uh 26 years old one of the last 100 or so 737 Classics built yeah I mean uh it's just just an incredible Testament to the airframe isn't it that these uh these old things look how little the engines look it looks like a that's crazy isn't it great looking jet though scream dashing Dave years loving the colors lot of people loving the colors unfortunately there'll be a you can hear that National jet for [Music] [Music] [Music] wow tough little thing isin't it like a jck Russell wow that was cool okay um there's a there's a bus there there's a bus there that might be a crew bus I don't know oh wait a minute lining up lining up here we go folks check this out this is an X passenger um 747 B converted Freer [Music] [Music] [Music] left turn Cline yeah well that was quite a late turn I have to say usually a little bit earlier than I think that might have been an altitude related delay in that turn possibly ah oh you can still hear her man man CPR what a shot uh Ian riby missed the first hour still watching yesterday's on catchup what a no don't worry about it mate well it's uh good to see you here glad you finally made it um watching yesterday's on catchup 6 hours was supposed to be a test stream for crying out loud uh but that is what it is um yeah it's um you I think yeah I think where we are is is probably uh most is is if you if you toss it up between you know being up there on the bank overlooking that uh that ramp there you get him pushing back you get oh it would be up close and everything wouldn't it are we uh the nipon [Music] express wow that was a she's heavy man it was either that or it was break to vacate I think that might have been a case of break to vacate get that thing stopped for that exit otherwise it's a bit of a long um drawn out Affair if they run it long and have to um taxi back up whereas here that uh exit Point gives them a straight run down to the watering hole Yeah you know what in a in a in a funny sort of way I kind of yeah it's a tricky one because I I i' kind of would have liked to have been um isn't it funny how some of the uh Dash eights actually uh depending on the color scheme uh depending on the um the Livery some of them actually look longer don't they than others um and that's and and that's purely down to the uh to to the Livery first police car I've seen it first police car man in all the in in the two days that well day that we've been here um yeah it's sort of like a day and a bit plus the night of we arrive um but yeah that's the first police car I've seen isn't that fantastic Aiden Campbell time stamp for dream lifter taxiing is 70 three uh thank you for that Aiden what's that Jil what's happened lady Hall would break to vacate use less fuel um well you need you're using your fuel to uh to power the engines to um reverse them so yeah but a lot of it is also on the brakes as well wow is noisy that's another one who wants that exit I think look how quick they tur it off wow proper Freight dog pilot man still on the reverses as he's turning off that is proper so the nipon jet interesting uh he's going to go this side I think yeah he's going to go this side is he oh Martin Mart Osborne don't say that now I have today folks very um um now you see F you're doing a coffee run fella good lad Timmy toothpicks ladies and gent um wow mate you're so lucky of that you can jump on these jumbos man are you going back on one no oh you going you you you're just in it on a uh scheduled good to see you I I did but you know we that was quite some time ago uh if you're doing what are you doing you're doing I'll just get a warmed um the pastries CH but buted you CR there we go put leg it's going two FES it's can you thanks mate hurry back now he's going to turn up his taxi just oh no he'll be fine he'll be fine oh that nip on freight going in over at it [Music] nice see what I mean about how long it looks in an allh scheme Hot Cross Buns one a penny to a penny Hot Cross Buns Jason liotti amazing view with the mountains and the Beautiful flying machines they are beautiful flying machines aren't they there's another one prepares to uh okay he's a good lad is he fair play uh Jer anyone the shark Finn teeth on the back of the engine countings are they only on the Trent 1000 or do they have them on other engines or only Trent 1000s uh Marcus no uh the um General Electric G NX engine which you see here on this das8 747 uh has the um scalloped Cows as as uh as on the dream liner um so no the um both the um Trent 1000 and the GNX engines have the uh the scalloped cows the scalloped cows are a design of NASA um was supposed to um quieten the engine note uh in terms of the uh you know um because air passing the back of an engine is quite dragging as well um so that you know cuz it's it was a flat surface as most engines are um it's a flat surface so to reduce the drag and increase the efficiency uh and and quieten it down they've um they've they they they developed that but unfortunately it backfired and it turns out that it's actually is quite draggy and um it it isn't as efficient in terms of fuel numbers uh as it was even though it's quier engine so the 747-8 and the Dreamliner as well as the 737 Max with the leap engine uh because it's a Boeing product Boeing and NASA have um developed a lot of stuff together including uh those cows uh winglets as well I think NASA have have more or less are their design their specialist design team in terms of aerodynamics Bob has gifted five memberships thanks Bob hoping that we might see oh I tell you what hold on a minute that sounds a bit herculan hey hold on is there Hercules coming out his sun on my left side is quite okay no I don't think there's uh any movement down there but something big prop is moving I can hear [Music] it raptorx Beach 1900d that just departed is now diverting okay is it a glitch I don't know are they may be running doing an engine run no certainly a bit of activity around that uh aircraft looks like a generator I know what that is down there is it this fell here you making on that noise you naughty little thing it was him ano oh Joel poy py say looks like that 1 C130 was spinning okay well there's only one down there a't there from what I can see anyway this is the guy that's just Landing in it it's one of these in it is it no I love that Livery man remember the dc9 in uh Boeing field wasn't it that's the beach 1900c Raptor nice s 340 is what's taxiing up here now see I love the fact that people of all different you know types of uh aircraft appreciating all different types of aircraft it's just to get people to say that's a lovely sa 340 um when it's you know it's appreciating Aviation isn't it in all it in all its forms from the ginormous to the to the small and I love the sound of a prop as well and as this small juvenile plane makes its way around the larger more mature aircraft who just observe observe it as they as it drives past them absolutely fantastic man hello astronaut bubble 63 is a brand new member uh on big jet TV Jesus Murphy FedEx md11 on radar Trevon wood saying okay it's either this one here oh wow folks you're going to be treated to some Craig is a returning member welcome back Craig uh Ben brown one of the things I love most about the Intercontinental streams is seeing all the short Hall stuff you don't see in the UK you don't see any of this stuff anywhere else it's Fab uh fantastic thank you uh Ben I think that's kind of that is the reason why we travel to to see all the different variety of of liveries and aircraft types but also you know um this is so unique isn't it what we're seeing here now that looks like quite an old airplane Miles High triple engine action there's another md11 over the other side but that doesn't go out till later Chris Clark not a trist star my friend md1 based on the original dc10 platform Alexa Perfecto a brand new member welcome Alexa loads of people's alexas have just gone you're welcome you what what happens if you go Alexa make me a coffee I'm sorry sir I cannot do that who do you think I am I'm sorry Michael D D give me your Alex hilon very funny La girl La world uh tall undercarriage Metro liner John grinham there we go thank you Philip Larry is a bit mosquito is isn't closing it down right [Music] upite Prett narly turbo props though and they like the blades Metro liner thank you Glenn Todd Royal um flying Sharpie Emma it's quite difficult to read the comments at the moment cuz I'm looking directly at well the sun is right in my face um L that fuzo plane looks like nosy Bonk on kids TV in the [Music] 80s nice you got to love the distant train that is fantastic can you hear that jell from from the uh hji saying Linden Air Cargo Hercules inbound uh 30 minutes 48 years old okay so that is the other one Eric sa and Fairchild worked together for a while so I often wonder if the 340 and 2000 Incorporated some com a commonality with uh the Metro lineup family interesting yeah you would imagine it wouldn't you if they were still developing the aircraft when they both came together then I would imagine that they probably would have bang their heads together and um have thought of different modifications and changes ET ET straightforward I'm just watching Flying Wild Alaska out of un CLE Alaska was always interesting to watch how the airport worked well they had they they they have got series that we appeared on that they filmed here at Anchorage um with the um mainly covering the sort of like you know uh the operations at the Airfield but of course it was a bit like you know the same format as like Britain's busiest airport where you've got your uh where you've got your incidents inside the air aort you know this drunken man decides he wants to steal for a night but he little does he know that Anchorage closes at you know all that kind of thing um but we we appeared on it um one of the episodes we've got to get hold of that Jil somehow and uh the um the episode of um ice airport Alaska isn't it is it ice Airport oh it's on YouTube right okay yes I have and I was really impressed with the with the with with what they did in terms of cuz I was a little bit sort of like because I was you know looking at looking at the sort of like American series that you get like gold rush and all that they get really you know intense and all that you know uh when they sit him in front of the camera I was just like me um you know they're always looking for that sound bite aren't they but um lovely camera crew as well spent the day up on the uh well not the day but a fair few hours up on the on the roof there of the main terminal building Aiden Campbell is there a reason why there are four blades or five blades on a turbo prop great question I'm guessing that's just um uh the uh the efficiency of the engine the way it's designed the way it's developed I didn't realize I had five propped blades uh but uh yeah of course you know back in the old days with the Spitfire the earlier variant the Mark 1 only had two props um and then that developed into into the three prop and then the four prop in the in the like Mark 21 or something crazy like that so now we've got a decent look across at the dream lifter slightly better light Sun's a bit higher I'll tell you what is interesting folks is that that R1 door has been closed now if we got anybody on the flight deck let's have a little look that means the crew are on board I think I can't really uh is there a bit of movement on that flight deck you need to see the slightest uh yeah there's somebody up there yeah there's people up there yeah totally oh no please I hope uh timy makes it back man oh God [Music] no nice okay let's see if there's any uh so I'm guessing the other door was open as well um so just seeing well that paraphernalia closest to us is is not relevant with that it's I'm just looking for the crew steps ah is that the crew bus departing I think look at all that uh look at all that um is that cuz I know there's a big panel of bolts somewhere where they've reinforced it now that's that's part of the the the the structure here isn't it that's not part of the aircraft structure but there is a section um where you can see um incredible sort of like Cal strengthening sections where there's multiple um not so much you know they're almost like nuts and bolts rather than you know nice something goes M6 oh I see is that a China Southern freighter down at the at the watering hole and obviously the more prop blades you have the more efficiency you have doesn't it I'd imagine Stuart Ross this is freev viiew Stuart yes send your friend the link definitely they'll appreciate it I'm sure if you've got any people that you in your friends list who you're like you know what uh I think I think they might like this send him a text with a link uh to the to to the show and say check this out because it is uh oh especially with what we have here was an interesting what oh no man Ben and Amy love the Metro liner probably an an ex American Eagle yes I can recall seeing uh Metro Liners in the American Eagles we we've seen didn't we see one at Chicago Metro liner American Eagle pretty sure we did that uh that China jet is uh I think going to be on radar is it C30 Linden Air Cargo round 30 minutes from gnome wow I've seen that on um gnome in Alaska I've seen that on um on programs before you can see the uh can you see the beacon Gavin wils is gi5 memberships who's that Jill what's that yeah oh BL me screaming American Eagle hasn't had Metro Lin since the late 80s maybe early 90s there we go so uh uh we definitely haven't seen any um but we have seen an American Eagle special Livery prop uh turbo prop I'm pretty sure we have Russy t uh yeah the um Freight is gorging Ricky Nord yes there's movement uh let's just uh sorry folks sorry sorry sorry got the uh interesting not seeing any Apu I know or is that just can I is that running she's hooked up to a tug a very small tug I have to say very small very powerful tug what's her name Jill Rachel Rachel B is a new member I've missed a few new members folks I do apologize um because I'm just so inor of what I'm looking at here um uh Mr rigs be in the 80s London transport used to have Metro liners on the 267 route um fishing with Mr W uh Jerry do they get the Flying Tiger in here oh yeah there's the uh there is a um of course back in the day you had Flying Tigers the actual freight company called Flying Tiger Flying Tigers had some great liveries but uh I think he's maybe uh talking about the Flying Tiger Livery uh with the big Tigers uh face on the on the nose of the aircraft um which is pretty pretty crazy to see head on obviously you need to see it head on oh aeroc Centric no Apu on the dream LIF good point good point because uh I don't obviously because of the weight the additional weight of an APU uh that that would be uh put on that back that tail section so they run it all off ground power so there will be a ground a GPU um where they'll fire it up with the um with the Jenny underneath the jet so there we go no Apu thank you that'll be interesting to see if they blanked it off W it we will see her from behind how cool will that be he one of the fuel Bowsers circling the Airfield waiting for its next victim find it quite rare look there he is it's Pilatus [Music] de oh here he comes I think he comes I think this is him it is him is it is it no it's not oh god I've just film someone so aeroc Centric thank you everybody no AP you so it will it be blanked off uh the pipe will be blanked off no doubt on that uh for for obvious reasons there'll be a plug in there literally like a c big c hello mate you all right how are you I'm good thank you yeah big fan of the channel oh thanks man I appreciate it yeah I fly for UPS oh de you yeah so what what are you on uh 74 oh really yeah in fact I have my uh we have simulators here so I'm going to the Sim here like in an hour nice is that just a refresher course or yeah my check ride like every year we got to do like a check ride yeah so yeah is is and the check ride will be on on an actual flight as well or do they do it in the Sim no in the simulator oh really okay so they they compress it do they so they don't have to sit there for like 16 hours or something yeah well I'm a first officer Captain does a line check all right so they have a whole flight that they're being watched I see okay but for me it's just the simul yeah yeah yeah and they have two simulators here thep nice and they're busy I guess all the time man yeah those simulators night and day yeah cuz we have a base in Anchorage and Louisville so there simulators both places oh cool FedEx has a simulator over here I don't know if you've seen it no uh you can actually like it's got a glass wall oh oh yes I have the other side of the street yeah yeah you can see it through the glass yeah yeah that's pretty cool man and that's for the Triple I'm guessing that's actually md11 oh is it but they kind of restructured up here they closed the md11 base and turned it into a Triple 7 B so I don't know what they're doing with the simul right yeah wow that's cool so what what how um what's your schedule been like were you flying yesterday uh no I got Simulator for 3 days tomorrow I go to Hong Kong okay right it's interesting tomorrow you go to Hong Kong what time you going yeah but I'm deadheading it's uh in the afternoon like uh 2 p.m. I think perfect perfect here yeah mate yeah we'll catch you I think it's flight 46 um flight 46 and I'm dead but I'll tell the pilots that yeah there's my card okay just uh just drop me an email I think the uh is my number on there as well yeah my number's on there if are you on WhatsApp yeah I sure have yeah um just put put all your details on what you know um fuel loads and all that kind of stuff and kind of cool stuff that we can read out on here as well and is it the four or the eight uh I believe it's a Das sheet tomorrow nice run it nice and long man run it nice and long yeah yeah yeah the UPS like there's you were talking about the takeoffs there's two types of takeoffs so uh the UPS uses the reduced thrust takeoff so I mean you you'll notice UPS uses more Runway than like more yeah yeah you know so wait it's beautiful because they literally wheels up about here which is just phenomenal man it's a big um it's a big uh amp isn't it it's got quite an angle to it SL yeah yeah and then the ILS coming the other way for5 it's a little steeper than normal it's 3.2 oh really as opposed to the normal um which is about three isn't it exactly so if you ever if they turn the airport around in land5 you'll see you know that maybe it's a little steeper and then they you're landing on a down slope as well so it's a it's a little bit uh more sort of like you have to allow that in the in in the the length of the aircraft I'm yeah and just at the bluff there you always get a little windar you know the winds like you get a little push with it coming up the yes yes so it might lift you like this oh wow now you're Landing a little long but you got the headwind so okay so that would potentially kick you and and increase your speed as well yeah yeah so if you're not expecting it you know but if you fly here a long time you know oh that is so cool man that is so cool um oh oh her Beacon's on um so we've got a triple coming out now do you love flying the jumbo man yeah yeah love it yeah it's it's great so cool and you live here in Anchorage or um I actually live in Cincinnati CBG but I'm based here in Anchorage so I'm here a lot but I I used to fly for Atlas uh on the the Trip s oh that is so cool man what's your name mate Jordan Jordan nice to meet you Jordan I'm Jerry yeah yeah of course um mate let me let me grab this triple yeah am I in your way and then we're no you're fine you're fine where you are mate you're absolutely fine dream Lifter on radar GP no I'm asking you so interesting I'm I'm hearing what appears to be sort of like a that oh yeah that's everything firing up that's the systems firing up on it the dream Li doesn't have any no exactly it's all off a ground power unit they got to use that H oh man how cool is this right let's get this whole sequence now it takes a while though wow I just love that whole noise of like pneumatics and valves and well that's what they have us doing in a simulator today it's a lot of a lot of work but so do you do so during your simulator programs obviously um you're you're you're constantly sort of um refreshing yourself in terms of like um uh missed approaches and and engine failure and all that kind of stuff yeah problem did they ever throw one at you like uh wow listen to the Jets going out from Elmendorf oh there's one there look a look how quick he's gone up mate wow uh um yeah do they ever throw one at you that you're sort of like just not expecting like a like one where you've got a sort of like well a full electrical failure and all out electrical failure no and when I was at Atlas they should do more surprises but for us it's really uh you know kind of you kind of know what's coming in way but but less surprises but no they don't do may maybe if you have extra time say oh let's you know fly through the Golden Gate Bridge all right flipping EG fair play there's one overhead he's probably going to Asia from yes yeah the East Coast yeah we've seen quite a few of those over the last couple of days as well um it could be any uh so now here's an here's an interesting thing they're obviously uh they need to start the aircraft at gate and have the engines running idle because they can't start it when they've pushed back cuz cuz they got to unhook it from the Jenny haven't they yeah so they start so they start it oh I start one engine and then use that to power up the others yeah okay awesome then they push back to a cross pleed start put the power up on the one engine to get more air to start yes to get the starters kicking over nice man so that so that I'm guessing that's the is that going to be either one or two number one or two engine one of those two engines I think it's it might be number four oh okay I can't remember okay let's just have a look and see if we can if' got cuz one of them is definitely running yeah it's a long yeah you got heat coming out of the backat one I think you might be right I think it is the number four engine they're pushing on now oh mate he needs to hurry up doesn't he J I was only joking about the flipping him missing the dream lifter Timmy oh okay I'm just going to have to Belt up for this for this push back she's pushing back mate I will be absolutely gutted if he won't miss it going out he won't miss it going out yeah if at this time in the morning mate at this time in the morning it's going to be busy take a quick photo the light's really good you Lu out with the weather beautiful mate we're so lucky [Music] in my defense Timmy was sort of like looking like he was G about to say do you want me to go and get a coffee or something like that I could I could sort of like a ravage here Tim is a dispatcher he'll make it in time more Raptors [Music] overhead oh look that's got that's got a yellow that looks DHL let me just quickly grab it quickly grab it stand [Music] by yeah it is DHL there you go headed to ngoya so which engine is running oh I think he is that number four yeah you were right mate so now we'll be winding up the other ones look at this thing mate that's one of our what oh that's one of DHL UK's jets that just went over the top yeah look at this folks if you like your old school stuff look at [Music] that old school prep when he pw8 untouched bet that cockpit smells lovely mate old leather seats probably not how so of like old leather seats C I think they would have modified it a little bit more how long you in uh leave on uh Friday late morning oh so you're here yeah yeah yeah so we'll catch your tomorrow mate look at the size of the hinges on that thing mate look at the hinge fairings it's insane it's as big as a small car for Good's [Music] sake I believe he's pretty late so I [Music] think yeah but hopefully she'll come across here look at them they're running that engine up yeah that's to get more yeah cuz they have to increase the pneumatic yeah air to get spin the other engines then they add the fuel and then start [Music] you can see it's blowing stuff behind blowing d [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] come on T me [Applause] [Applause] [Music] so sh for oh [Applause] [Applause] that's [Applause] slow down Sun slow down stop he's going straight up that's a bit of a shame [Music] that's interesting got a frost on the wings of that jumbo with that's crazy [Music] Timmy made it folks Timmy made it literally uh well like somebody said he's a dispatcher show so he he knows had to get somewhere on time very interesting having a nice hot b h it's lovely that's lovely on the yeah is cheers mate thanks a lot for that yeah oh nice and warm now and before uh before our Dream lifter takes to the SK um has he gone Timmy that pilot is he coming back or he's gone is he I've G I gave him the card so oh hello oh mate you could have crossed it the other end up here couldn't you why didn't you cross up here hey that's not very fair Is It Anyway never mind never mind Steve shepher yeah good comment um I I when when when I when I first clapped eyes on her uh when she landed uh even in this short space of time I've kind of Blended it nicely in my mind with the with how it's still that sort of like little look about it in ter when you when you see the um the front end uh it's sort of like protruding out from the uh from the modified section it's pretty insane man she doesn't sport the SP [Music] tail oh wow look at that that's uh that's um oh wow that's like a um what you call it [Music] uh search and rescue type aircraft will I get that will I get that 747 rolling right above me right over the top I don't know if I'm going to be no no no it's the US Coast Guard there we go so many bleeding jumbos and know which one's the one that's moving oh look at this man I just stood on me crossons yeah wow man never get bored of that shot mate I did just start as I paned around I stood on my crossant it's better than any in your burger I guess it's me own footprint is it Tim to pigs you're a legend mate you're an absolute star sir did you want one of these mate no I'm good are you sure oh cheers mate thanks fella thank you he's got his little chair here and everything lacky s can sit down drink his coffee and watch The View Julie e has gifted a membership thank you Julie yeah if you're tuning if you're tuning in folks and you're wondering what the hell is that this is called the dream lifter an aircraft specifically designed and built by um uh not so much a Boeing actually it's a it was it was a design Bureau in um Russia of all places that uh that designed the aircraft and then it was built by be built out in the in the Far East I think it was um built primarily to transport the Dreamliner which is why it's called the dream lifter as it was the 7 E7 um when it was originally conceived the Dreamliner back then in 200 whenever it [Music] was so this is um so what you're seeing here is is is a a completely modified 747 um kind of like the same sort of thing that Airbus have done with their beluga and their modified A330 uh or a300 originally with the um or even way back before that with the guppy was the uh what's that GP oh plain spotted Jordan great to meet you my friend thank you very much um yeah like I said I A Jame I I I was hoping to uh give you a sticker for your flight bag but never mind maybe next time got Cafe Pacific 747 taxi in out uh Cu uh so people who are new to Big jet TV or to to aviation in general or maybe not new to it but have never seen anything like this before it's a very rare thing to see folks certainly nothing that you'll rely see um outside of the um [Music] well you have to go to specific places don't you to uh to catch this um Charleston because I think it's Charleston South Carolina carries the dreamline dream liner segments um and as you can see it's humongous in terms of its width and size and its capability to obviously fit um I think fuselage sections um perhaps wings as well I'm not sure but certainly I'm not sure what What's um what's mostly made out in in Japan I think it may be um Fus fuselage segments for the Dreamliner the the because I think each segment of the fuselages is farmed off to different manufacturers which is a bit odd I have to say um you would have thought that it would be all under one manufacturer in order to guarantee the tolerances and the fact that they will um they will um fit together correctly which is something that's kind of being uh discussed at the moment in terms of the uh so much Integrity but there just a lot of noise going on old the dream after the yeah spring uh is it string beam the Boeing strata Cruiser um was the original [Music] guppy amazing got great ex um um example of the guppy at the um the original guppy at uh the aviation museum in too cable operation [Music] okay folks here we you [Music] go we're not sure whether she's actually carrying anything but having coming back from Japan un likely they take stuff out to Japan they more likely bring it back so um we'll have to see hopefully she's heavy [Music] absolutely insane man absolutely insane right uh we got to cut it uh folks uh in all fairness oh big shout out to all our members for allowing that to happen on free viiew let's give them one more jumbo um before we're going to members only um and everything will kind of calm down then would it Jil oh okay sorry sorry okay you keep a track on that uh the dream lifter whether it um it makes a right turn or if it's carrying on its left to yeah sorry about the [Music] little Jeremy Smith the dream lifter against those mountains like you said J there a thumbnail right there in it listen to the tires picking up their speed L that high pitch wine this a dash eight could be quite long oh my goodness me can hear those fan blades clattering man it's a beautiful sound coming out of those engines man G NX um mind you actually uh not titanium there they would be uh 2747s heading out for departure uh that would be um the carbon blade on the the G enx engine um oh it's just tell me when you you ready then GP I hope you all enjoyed it folks a big shout out to all our members for um for overwhelmingly voting on giving it to free viiew because I think the uh I think the the free view world of Aviation um fans Fanatics um plane spotters whatever whoever you are uh uh um and wherever you are in the world I hope you enjoyed that because uh you know it would be kind of crazy for us to for to to not share it ATS must be some cold in the air Finn Jansen welcome Finn new member on big jet TV [Music] so that's the other scalloped cowl design on the leap engine again another Boeing SL NASA um designed product well to be honest with you is just NASA a it um are you ready then Julie out now okay folks thank you um hope you enjoyed it um great to see so many people um appreciating it and I have to say and a few other people have said there that uh used to think that the dream lifter was uh an ugly aircraft very interesting if you look into the history of the aircraft uh in terms of when it was designed the designer uh the the main man behind the dreamlifter actually uh either sent a message or or or face to face said to Joe Sutter the um the designer The Man Behind the jumbo jet he apologized uh for uh for making his aircraft look so ugly his words not ours um but um or for or for destroying it or something like that but it was a unique design and I think I have to say she now holds a special place in her heart have we adopted her a little bit Julie the dream lifter she's sort of like welcome to the to the family uh I think yeah yeah definitely and uh look upon her as a different thing now I do definitely having seen her hope you all enjoyed it hope you appreciated it and hello to anybody who uh is is new to Big jet TV and has been gifted a membership we're going to go to um uh we need to do it kind of now J how long will it take okay thank you everybody look after yourselves and we'll see you back in London members stay where you are [Music] [Music]
