more time to work with here as his first completion a short note on the sidelines of the Eastern Michigan product Dylan Drummond that's an outstanding job by Nate sodfield he sees a free runner a linebacker running right through the middle of the offensive line and he stands in there takes the shot and hits the Eastern Michigan product Drummond who has had an outstanding Camp they are so excited about this young man and guess what he got his opportunity through the local quote it in the last few weeks now they're packing Ford Field tonight filled rules looking out as Brock Wright big tight end to started to emerge last year gain of 10 there it'll be enough for a first down it's alignment I hope he's gonna be all right subfield has to flush the pocket this time through across his body completes it to Jamir Gibbs the rookie is a weapon he can do more things than just one there he is in the passing game that's exactly what you're going to get Nate Suffield does a very good job of extending the play we've seen Jared Goff do some more of that towards the end of the season last year and then you find your running back and back across the field and now the coaches always say don't throw across your body don't throw away Gibbs as daylight Lions fans are hoping to see that for years to come here's some more Daylight for gives up the middle impressing early at least 60 000 came out today and like you said they're getting what they want to see this is the guy they hope is maybe the back of the future Deontay Banks who's on the coverage there they dump it off to Drummond this time slip the initial tackle and Dylan Drummond works his way up the sideline enough for a first down for Drummond starting to find a Groove now with these Gibbs handoffs using him in different ways may have had enough to pick up the first down there follow the tight ends and you'll find the ball it's a very nice job of laporta teaming up and getting those guys out of there the edge is his and look at the speed on Gibbs to get said edge so our friends from The Talented lion social media team posting clips of Gibbs alwick doing some pretty nifty things against this Giants defense on the practice field now he's doing it on the big game field for the first time in his young career tight split by Jamison Williams he could be going across the field they hand it off it'll be one of the blockers this time for Gibbs I like the Rhythm right now too it feels like you might as well move quickly if you've got Gibbs 100 back inside of their own territory and there's that d-line showcasing and showing up once again second time we've called John kaminsky's name I mean just watch him just watch him hit extend engage and then disengage and make the play very nice job by Kaminsky he's made a few plays in this game now Giants just shy of the 50 DeVito steps up looking downfield another flag down this one in the backfield and also the backfield was Benito Jones he really worked his way up through the hole that time look at the 25 year old going into year three Neil Jones right here gonna make sure he fights through what could have been a hole does a very good job yet again hit extend and then disengage and get to the quarterback position group he's most excited to watch is the linebacker group Derek Barnes let me calling bims out there's a big hit right away from Brian Branch lit him up you were excited to watch Brian Branch there's a reason they trade it up to draft him I'm just telling you it's the still of the draft he's the first rounder you're gonna see him flying to make this play very nice job of the quarterback is stinging the play he flipped it and boom welcome to the NFL what a nice job by branch and I said he's a sideline a sideline player plays players on the defensive line as well against the veteran QB in the preseason you'll get that a ton meanwhile more plays happening in the backfield positively for this Lions defense there's John Kaminsky signed the extension in the off-season Lions fans really were excited to see him back in the Honolulu glues take a look at Kaminsky right here he does such a great job diagnosing this play before it can even get started oh I smell him rat he didn't block me he goes and makes the play outside very nice job I Commission DeVito hangs It Off looks like he's short and Bo there next they did how about Jack Campbell find a way to get in there and stop him when you thought he might have the momentum to get a first down look at Jack Campbell leaned over in perfect position right hit extend shuffled to two gaps over and makes the play because if Jack Campbell isn't there he's going to be able to force his momentum forward for another yard fourth and one it's just Mike talking about gaps Devin that defense stands up inside of their own 25. [Applause] what a series from Jack Campbell first round draft picks have showcased their talent so far we talked about what we wanted to see Jack Campbell back to back stops gets his team off the field offense when we're back John ragnell father Frank right now resting at home after a couple days it's on green with the reception up near Midfield gets out to the 45 for a gain of 24. weeks he's feisty too with Houston on the pressure that time that forced a quick throw and Rodriguez was able to take down Jay Sean Corbin on the sideline how about James Houston and Malco Rodriguez the two-star rookie surprises from a year ago Houston getting after the quarterback does a very good job and hits him right in his chest and then you got Michael Rodriguez who he has shown to be able to run and tackle run and Tackle it's third and third team DeVito is pressured again looks like it was Houston once again in the backfield Evan back to back plays for the guy who really emerged in those past Russian situations last season this entire half and some of the third quarter but four potential the Adrian Martinez and the second half Coda is open this time and he's holding it in this time here's the Oregon products the Ducks are getting involved in Lions uniforms watch the corner here he does a very good job of backing out backing out backing out but then he's entice he's the flat player he's enticed by the outro by Drummond and the ball is floating right over his head nice job by Nate subfield getting that ball with Talent right there hi Barry Sanders had to be happy as ever James Mitchell on the receiving end with green in front of him Jamison Williams is leading the way with a block [Applause] it's a nice pitch and catch there to begin this drive gain of 32. James Mitchell a guy who they really liked a year ago and this year was still shroud he's got opportunity and if he can do this this ability to catch and run from the tight end position and if he can contribute sunfeld now flips it out to the flap has another completion Jason cabinda there let's go sunfield rolls out looking for the Crosser and has Mitchell for the second time on this drive that'll be enough for a first down gain of seven there Trey Hawkins made the tackle very nice job of Mitchell avoiding the linebacker who's trying to stop him he's committed to the run but the tight end has to avoid he has to avoid to make sure he can get out on the edge Mitchell does a good job of that he's open for a first down I'd say the Lions get a stop here I'd say you're right in the backfield they collapse on DeVito the lion stating that man-to-man defense in the real problem before was Cole Beasley was winning his one-on-one matchup this time they put pressure on the quarterback what a great job by all parties involved there's too many people making the play to even say a single name that's always a good thing to the ball opens at the time and Dan Campbell was interviewing for the tight ends coaching job and he got the job yeah those two go back and let me tell you last year I'll let you know this return Maurice Alexander founded free showcasing why he is good at this rule a couple of pirouettes now Alexander's loose down the sideline Maurice Alexander goodbye you know what Jason hella think about it unimportant you want to find a way to make this team your wide receiver you contribute in the return game how about that return breaking tackles you look like a a modern day Barry Sanders himself he may be a little too far but wow what a return Maurice Alexander showcasing the speed and the elusiveness for the first Lions touchdown of the night how about being able to have the gas right you make all those plays in the middle of the field on the hashes breaking tackles and to have enough juice to try to get to the end zone that's super impressive and the lions will try to go for two here win today why not [Applause] likely to see Teddy Bridgewater next week able to get a first down [Applause] got a nice block there on the left side and the Detroit Lions have found one in Teddy Bridgeway like you said if you're a lions fan right now as Mitchell makes that catch the tight end spot doesn't but this is a proven team I want him to prove to me that he's still the guy that he wants news Chase code is trying to prove himself in this Camp that's his second catch of the game and it'll go for a first down in the gain of seven he's been around like Devin said sudfeld is a pro going back to CODA here he's trying to prove himself in this Camp looking like a pro on this drive [Applause] second time on this drive he has a first down catch a very nice job with the back so there's kind of a nine stop right the nine stop nine yards you sail that you're gonna run past them and just turn around and his cousin loves it how about that man this is this is outstanding timo's wife just had a baby a few days ago so he's been out of practice recently but the leg still looks very fresh has a huge legit NFL leg in the words of special teams coach Dave phipp and he gives the Lions their first lead of the night on the 33 yarder foreign [Music] [Applause] wreaking havoc in the backfield the Lions did a very good job of throwing a curveball they played man-to-man in these situations early in the game they go to a Zone and okora does a very good job of Dipping underneath and making the play on DeVito second sack today for Julian so the defender can't do that so Martinez backed up to his own 17. Kansas State and Nebraska products did a lot of that in college utilizing his legs found that was negated [Applause] here gray fear catches this [Applause] DeVito's dread down from behind the aquaras have been all over the blackfield today so Julian earlier and now Romeo here I mean outstanding it's a family affair he just gets into that's a bull rush right you just put your hand right into the chest of the offensive lineman and then make your way to the quarterback [Applause] it's a heck of a job there sixty thousand strong at Ford Field tonight letting DeVito hear it and that is broken up excellent play by Tay Hayes who assigned just six days ago what a play what timing take a look perfect technique he opens and then he drives and right on time no chance of a pass interference and it continues to fight through the arms and play through the hands of the wide receiver and I like a starter you're gonna have to contribute on special teams or there's no place for you on the team Schnell spend time with the Steelers Martinez has a completion in the Giants territory it's Chase Coda how many times have we said the name of the former Oregon Duck today all right not Coda all right this is what Coach Campbell loves you can play as well as you want to play in practice but when you get into form field in this arena with all the fans watching and all the pressure and and Jason Ross Jr calling the game what will you do when the lights are brightest and Coda has come up and he has shown that he is a nice nice playerunk and give a real opportunity to show what he's got here and he's thinking of Romo another chunk gain here it's Quinn getting involved for the first time in the passing game Dre Quinn on a gain of eight and the offense is moving and grooving again here Java Martinez Learning from what he learned a week ago here he is again Martinez has to step up eludes a tackle Martinez inside the 10.
