Limbus Company - Beginner Egoshard Guide

welcome back everyone John panio here with another video today we're going to be going over Eagle shards a lot of you guys have been asking me what should I be doing with ego shorts should I be holding them should I be spending them and where should I be spending them in this video I'm going to be giving you my pros and cons of spending your ego shards in different areas of the game so that way you can decide what makes the most sense for you after I post this video I'll be streaming on Twitch so make sure you come over and say hi I'll be streaming for about six hours and Link is in the description down below now the first and foremost question is obviously should you buy characters and should you buy egos with your shards short answer is no but if there's a husband or a wife who you really want sure do it but the reason why I say it's not worth it to get the Egos and to get the identities right out is for two reasons one you can get them via extraction if you're lucky you can get them via Gadget pool and two it's a lot of resources that can go into powering your account elsewhere the reason being is this say for example donkeys we have people who really like this girl well she's gonna take 400 Eagle shards and what does 400 Eagle shards translate to in terms of just boosting your account well it translate into this 400 ego shards can give youth or Max the three characters or eight max out two star characters the reason being is three star characters require a total of 100 ego shards to get them to the max tier 20 for tier 2 80 for tier 3. two star characters on the other hand require a little bit less 10 shards for tier 2 40 shards for tier 3. Now using your shards is going to differ a monks whether you're a short-term thinker player as in whether you want to progress your account in the short term faster or whether you want to play for the long run which is you want to have your resources matter in the long run what do I mean by that well right now the best way to make your account stronger is literally getting characters to tier three because getting your characters to tier three is going to give you the most most power compared to anything else leveling them kind of helps but getting them to tier three is gonna be the fastest way to be able to clear more content to give you an example I was stuck on this stage for the longest time and we're talking about the infamous stage 3 4 where you encounter these enemies on the outside it doesn't look too bad but when you look at their passive that's when you realize oh shoot why am I not doing any damage this is why turn start heal 15 HP and if they're at less than 50 HP heal an additional 15. that means these monsters heal for 30 HP at under 15 HP or 50 HP which is nuts that is a ton of damage that they're healing so if you cannot damage check them you are stuck so I was stuck on the stage for four or five runs until until I did this Ishmael I had to tier three her not tier two I was trying to use her with tier two I did tier three her to be able to clear through this content originally I was thinking that okay I could probably beat the stage if I just do the mechanics so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna pick characters that are immune or very strong against blunt damage because those enemies deal blunt damage I mean get the highest resistance team to blunt damage that did not work then I decided well how about I just pick a team where I do what they're weak against those enemies are weak against blunt damage so I have made a team where my whole team was doing blunt damage still did not work so then I decide well I think it makes sense to combine both and make sure I have a team that is strong against blunt damage and does blunt damage that also did not work the only thing that was able to push me through that stage was tier threeing her not tier two tier three to be able to get her passes up and also get her Skill 3 and this by far changed it so I was able to push through the content she worked for my comp she might not work for your comp but she was the reason why I was able to push to three four nothing else about the game mechanics mattered it was literally getting her to tier three Now using your ego shards on tier three in your characters is going to get you the best return short term but it's not the best in terms of long term let me explain what I mean by that there is also one other thing to spend your EO shards on and that is to tier 2 tier three your ego when you tier to your ego you gain access to their passive what this means is if Ishmael has this ego equipped on her she gains the paths of where on hit if the target had burned inflict one burn to three enemies this is useful in the sense that if you're ever using Ishmael whether you're using a one star two star three star version does not matter it if she has this ego equipped she's always going to have this passive understandably though her passive is very specific to a burn build but it's always power that you're guaranteed no matter you're using a once or two star or three star Ishmael if you have her ego equipped with the passive uptude then you gain access to it obviously there are some passives that are better than others for example if we take a look at our boy here you can see his passive is a little bit better gain three blunt protection and sloth protection at the turn start which is always going to be a nice useful passive buff no matter what but as long as I'm using him on my roster he will always get the passive but the only thing to note is that these passes only apply if your character is in the battle if they're benched these passives don't apply so the only time that ego or investing in upgrading your ego works is if you know you're gonna be using these characters fighting for you and if you know you're going to be able to get some use out of their passive for example if I take a look at say fouse's passive you can see that she gains plus 10 damage for every negative status effect on this unit up to 50 so in order to get the most use out of Faust's passive she needs to have 5D Buffs on her and then she can do up to 50 more damage so this is one of those situations where either you need to build a team comp around debuffing your Faust or she only gets her debuff when she's getting hit by D or she only gets her buff only when she's getting hit by debuff which is very conditional so you might not want to be using her but I will say that egos in the long run are gonna be more beneficial for your team because these are always going to be useful always in the long run as more content gets released as more character it gets released you're gonna realize this is going to be more synergies with these Eagles eventually but for the time being the best way to spend your shards I would definitely recommend is still using them on identity these so too briefly summarize spend your ego shards where they make the most sense don't spend it on getting them on identities or buying the ego straight up because you can get them through extraction you can spend the 400 egos that you would have had on your sinners a three-star unit requires a hundred ego shards a two star unit requires 50 ego shards use it to make your account stronger and try to figure out a team comp that works for you with the roster that you have lastly you can also look into the future and invest long term and upgrade your egos if you have egos well that's under the assumption that you know you're going to be using these characters in your roster for the long term the passes are always going to be applied on your character if they're fighting but they're not that useful if they're benched so take that with the grain of salt these passes are useful some of them are conditional so make sure you invest in the egos that make the most
