I don't get why he has the beginning with the bro saying he's not a real rapper then puts out the most lonely island sounding song yet. I guess I was expecting him to prove that guy wrong.
Super cool concept, should've just worked with a different artist. Also the song should've gone a little longer at the end so it didn't end with that shit, I get that it's his thing to be funny and weird but, come on.
Wait is this a Chris Brown song with a Lil Dicky feature or the other way around? There was barely any Lil Dicky in there. Kinda lame.
Oh and also, fuck Chris Brown.
"My controversial past" we're just gonna glaze over beating a woman with a throw away line in a comedy song? Yikes.
I can understand separating the art from the artist for old released works, but I'm sorry, Chris Brown should never get work in the music industry ever again.
Fuck Chris Brown.
Say what you want about Chris Brown...this song is fire. Catchy, funny as always, and Chris Brown sounds great. The video only adds to the experience.
I find it interesting the way some people pick and choose who to support when it comes to the struggle with anger management or mental illness. Some get a pass while others get eternally shunned, regardless of therapy and signs of change.
Like, I love Lil Dicky but fuck Chris Brown. I get it, separate the artist from the music but why get into bed with this guy? Especially since Lil Dicky's persona emphasizes respect towards women? Like, this songs works identically with T-Pain, you can do the song in T-Pain style, all the jokes work, the rhythm of the song remains the exact same because both names have the same amount of syllables. Just makes no sense to muddy up your own image and divide your fan base by making a song with this guy.
I'd say I'm happy we've got more LD. But the track is weak and I'm beyond disappointed that he did a song with Chris Brown, and even references it as a joke.
