hey everyone this is manly badass zero and welcome to nightmare at famine Springs which is a horror game where a kid goes trick-or-treating and nothing goes [Music] wrong October 31st 1990 in a small suburban town called famine Springs a young child prepares for Halloween man this child if this is us we're scarier than anything else I think we're going to see in this game look at us what are we I hi Mom well honey it's that time it's Halloween go trick or treat with your [Music] friends oh shut you do have friends no I don't mom my friends with a computer we talked about this you're not a weirdo mom I like [Music] anime go on grab your costume and bag go have some fun I don't want to have fun so I have played other games developer uh one was something about like eat bad flesh or something the otherone was D grow Lake uh and there was never one that was kind of like an analog one I'm a ghost oh I need my [Music] bag I got to collect five of them candies hello Pumpkin person God the Sprites people here scary nice costume loser every year it's the same stupid kid stupid costume bet I get more candy than you see you later dork but you get hit by a car huh how are you going to collect candy if you're not even moving what do we live in like a fenced off wall City another missing kid I knew them from school so many missing kids better be careful out here hey how you doing I'm a kid boo hey you got candy for me oh what a nice costume here have some candy be careful out there strange things happen on Halloween sometimes I say you hear a voice flying above your head it'll say something vaguely weird like hey everyone this is manly badass hero then something bad will happen to you randomly almost like you're in a horror game hey didn't you egg my house last year I'm a ghost I can't hold eggs no okay then have some candy thanks I see the devil and skulls and Jacko lanterns are popular costumes this year usually it's the scream mask wow check out this costume ever seen a real ghost I am one you might get lucky worse things happen happy Halloween thanks Hey kid stop staying in the street here take this candy now I've added razor blades I'm kidding I swear nice undertale costume guess we ain't getting candy from that house we might find money well this uh this town is U being set up for catrific huh just like I thought not enough candy there one house you could check the old Fulmer house down this path you know the Legends I'm sure they're not true you want to check it out off you go then you suck suddenly there is falling leaves effects rip well you guys really got into the Hena the old Fulmer house this place is so old and full of old Legends something beckons you inside the door opens up a creek you enter the house house we took our off outfit off huh you find a piece of old newspaper you can make out some words numerous children still missing worried parents blame local loner police searches have failed hope diminishing you remember the story those kids were never found oh man I'm digging the soundtrack this is straight up Genesis hear it you hear that part that is Genesis Mega Drive core gate open somewhere else oh my God my memory oh there's a there nothing [Music] there I'm curious if they found this like like this was like someone did the soundtrack for or something or they did this themselves cuz like it was a thing there but I'm not going to care why are there cages here they're also hum sized each cage is empty like my soul but they're filthy and stink what was inside this cage you shiver at the thought a lot of Lone chairs for watching what's in these cages there's some style that's kind of coming in this game you see just the lighting it's simple but it's effective so there was an area to the north rather than going into that caged area that we probably just open up I'm going to cut North North and then uh see if I missed anything up there or maybe that switch opens up up here instead and I [Music] hello this seems like a safe area to [Music] go all of a sudden an eerie figure appears hanging in the fin a your blood runs cold as soon as it's there it vanishes there's been a bunch of those by the [Music] way thanks for noticing kid oh my God this soundtrack oh my [Music] God it's nothing got to keep key I actually don't know what the key is for whatsoever huh oh yeah there there was that door the [Music] north yeah that room over there looks pretty bad you okay Hey kid what are you doing down here that lunatic is going to get you the White Face Killer he's real you're going to die down here oh boy oh boy lighting is changing I don't like that yeah what is this what's this an altar of some kind made of Bones both human and animal you lay your hand on the altar you hear a distant sound of moving metal has something open you I know like the front door was locked right we don't have to commit we could have just left spec book you pick up an old book you flip through the pages there's something off strange symbols fill the book rituals and spells and names aof narp I'm not quite saying his name is correct but you know y s you dare not read fervor oh so you were the well well well didn't get that c huh not to worry there's plenty down here the father and I you met him right let me introduce you no no what thank you my children I grow in power I am the key and guardian of the gate past present future all are one in [Music] me I know where the old ones broke through of own and where they shall break through [Music] again nightmare famine Springs thanks for playing so that's it for nightmare famine Springs what started as a slasher flick basically became a a Lovecraft slasher flick so this was a short horror game they made around Halloween most of their games are pretty short but they're pretty good like I liked our lady of Soro I like inant and Grove Lake I like bad flesh that was their most unique one this one's kind of close with the bad flesh maybe in that it's not for one threedimensional and it's like a hybrid of a few different styles the most obvious being it's uh there's obviously some Faith influence there but yeah it was I actually thought it was cool like I liked it it just mainly it's just very short right it kind of ends when it gets good I mean not that the the opening prob was bad but just like when the premise kind of kicks in now I don't know if they made the soundtrack or they had a friend do it or this is one of those tracks you can just download that's like free use but whatever happened however they got the soundtrack if they made it uh I really like the soundtrack like I said it had that Genesis Mega Drive uh sound which was always great for very old school horror games like Splatterhouse and uh some of the more weiro ones like earthor gyms port or I'm not sure if it was ported or if that was where it was developed and supported the Super Nintendo I don't know how it works but it always had a distinct sound chip that worked really well for more horror weer leading games so I really add in a moodiness to this I liked or maybe that's just Nostalgia speaking I don't know but yeah anyway so I'll figure off watch me play nightmare of famine Springs I'll see you guys later and take it easy
