Life in a Ukrainian village during the war 2022

[Music] pretty it i'm taya from ukraine and welcome to my channel again guys i came back to ukraine who doesn't know i'm visiting my grandparents right now i'm in the village and would like to show you how people live during the war uh would have changed and for new viewers i want to show a typical ukrainian village let's go [Music] hey [Music] [Applause] this is the entrance of our yard and oh we have some newspaper in our books my grandparents they do use the internet my actually grandma knows how to use internet but they still buy newspapers something about newspaper for women this is the house where we live here you have we have a apricot tree and here we have the walnut tree it's so huge and the grapes will be in autumn now we are doing some kind of repairment our neighbors too you hear the sound adding some cement here and that is an old house that we cover the roof because it's made out of dry grass um every year it's going down so you see windows are very very low because this is my height i saw i'm basically taller than a window only chickens right now live there i will not come in there my my grandma will scold me because i show you only the dirtiest part she feels embarrassed i have a video a few years ago i shoot how it looks like inside here we have a chicken house if you think that people in the village or who live in their private houses build special bomb shelter or where they hide if there's an air attack i can say that everyone hides in pouri which is basically a hole in underground sometimes it looks good sometimes it looks not good and you can hide there during air attack usually people safe there their potato and carrot and jars with everything here we have a garden where we grow different kind of stuff i have to be actually this year very careful what to shoot but i think uh among these plants there's no military secret because i cannot show and shoot the rockets and you know different buildings connected to army military these are tomatoes this is salad or beetroot no beetroot is over there the red one and this one actually i'm not sure oops this is cabbage and this is corn this is onion and also we have a pepper and lots of wheat it's not typically that we grow sometimes they just grow some um normal leaf plants for chicken food for animals or something this year they decided to grow weed because of the you know the situation we are having right now the cucumbers this is pumpkin or uh zucchini the of course different kind of green stuff uh like parsley and this is crop that russians are calling us um this is a deal oh yeah i remembered who yes this is deal uh also we have a greenhouse and the potato is over there we have raspberry and apple tree and beer tree cherries also current we have a black currant red currant and white currant this is the green house and what we grow here we grow their tomatoes and wine yes it will be cherry wine we are going with yuki to this shop local shop look at this wonderful road after the rain cow is resting i think the people now see me they are very suspicious me talking in english and shooting because if you shoot now and you don't speak ukrainian you are already a suspicious person because there are a lot of people who you know sell their motherland take photos for russians where different army and military objects are located now let's have ismar walk with me [Music] and we came to the local small shop in the city center we have more shops that are more modern and they have more choice but this is the small one somewhere in the village let's see what's inside just for you information for the price one harvard dream night it's right now a little bit more than three dollars this is the type of shop where you need to ask a shop assistant to give you the goods you are choosing here there are lots of choice of candies and different kind of biscuits of course fridge with sausages and other goods that you can keep for a very long time and some non-food products in the village people help the army this is says that there will be a charity concert ukraine will win and all the money goes to our army check out my old school back from soviet times i think about the bunny and charity i wanted to say that the whole country gather money for our people in need for our army for animals or anyone who needs money during this hard time famous people gather money for uh army from for the helmets for them and different weapons the ukrainians gathered this amount in few days for by rakhtar and the company was amazed how calm it was so fast in such a big amount that they give us that for free and the money goes to other needs [Music] let's talk about food this was our lunch what we have here this is called white glass it's fermented bread drink you should try it when you come to east europe this is what i cooked it's called julian it's not the ukrainian dish you just put their mushroom chicken breast and add a sour cream and put cheese on top also we have here a regular cabbage salad with cucumbers and some potato that was my family reunion at my niece's party that's lots of food to describe you can see a typical ukrainian salad herring under the fur which is heroin combined with beetroot also lots of potato lots of meat sausages barbecue and a homemade cake summer in the village is very busy so let's prepare for winter we are going to make a compote that is a boiled berry drink first you need to gather berries and clean it get rid of all the leaves and all green stuff that you do not need then you need to put it in the jars usually it's less than a half of the jar by the way this is the size of three liters then you need to add some sugar my granny adds one glass of sugar for this jar then you need to add a boiled water it also needs to be like a syrup a little bit sweet it's actually easier to boil everything in the water at once but i don't know this is the way she does it if you don't want to prepare for winter and put it in jars you can actually just boil berries and enjoy the compote right away it's very easy to do and very yummy after that you need to put the jars to the water hot water and boil it and then you need to cover it with a lid make sure it is firmly stands there and it will not pop up and nothing happens check and that's done now i'm taking you guys at the place which i wanted to show you for a very long time so here it is here you have just a few random streets not the main one and voila this is the field near the river full of peacefulness full of goats and cows
