Life Changing Under Eye CONCEALER HACK?!? Testing the VIRAL Aquaphor Concealer Hack Over 50!

[Music] hey everybody it's Angie and welcome to hot and flashy in today's video we're going to try the viral Scott Barnes under eye concealer hack using aquafor lip balm according to Scott who is a celebrity makeup artist he does JLo's makeup he does Seline deon's makeup so he knows his way around a mature face he put up an Instagram post a couple weeks ago showing that he uses aquafor lip balm under the eyes and also a couple other places around the face to make the makeup last longer and be more crease free I have seen a few other videos on this on YouTube that people have done the first one I saw was from Glam girl Gabby who's a friend of mine and she says that this works like a charm and her under eyes have never looked better so anything that can actually help make our under eyes look better our under eye concealer crease less and last longer I am all for so I had to put this one to the test and I'm really excited about this video and I really hope it works I'm starting this video makeup free first let's take a look at the creasing under my eyes I know a lot of you guys look at my videos and you say you don't have any wrinkles under your eyes and of course I do I'm 61 and I do have wrinkles especially when I smile you can see them but if you're looking at this and the video looks blurry at all it's not because I'm using any filters I don't use any filters in my videos ever but the reason the video might look blurry is because of your playback resolution I film in high def 1080p but in order for YouTube to play millions and millions of videos across you know all these different devices every day they reduce the resolution in your playback so that you might be watching this at 360p or 720p so there's a little Cog gear kind of symbol up in the right hand corner on the top or at the bottom depending on what kind of a device you're using and you can open that up and you'll see playback resolution if yours is on 360 or 720 you're watching the video in an eighth or a quarter of what I filmed it in or what I uploaded it in so go ahead and switch that to 1080P and then you should be able to see the full resolution you should be able to see everything that's going on under my eyes in great detail and again no filters used ever then before we do the under eyes I am going to go ahead and do my eyeshadow because I don't want to get any Fallout from my eyeshadow into my under eye concealers let me go ahead and do my makeup off camera then I'll come back and we'll do the under eye concealer all right I'm back eyes are done for my eye makeup that I have on today I'm using the makeup by Mario Master Matts the neutrals palette beautiful palette I also use the Georgio Armani cream shadow rare Beauty brow Harmony brow pencil about face eyeliner in blue it's the new black for my lower waterline it's the about face eyeshadow stick in pearly I am going to do my face makeup on camera because he did use the aqua for in the nasal labial folds and around the edges of the mouth he does makeup for like photo shoots and video and Red Carpet Events and the makeup he uses is very heavy it's cream makeup it is full full coverage that's not the kind of makeup that I wear in real life and probably you don't either I'm going to do the aqua for on this side of my face I'm going to do my regular makeup on this side of my face so let me just go ahead and pop this in here the foundation I'm going to use today is my Dior forever matte this is like my perfect bulletproof foundation and when I tested this Foundation a couple of summers ago it was super hot out and this lasted like 10 hours didn't wear off it was a hot hot hot sweaty day and it was amazing and I didn't do anything special with it the other product that he used that I'm really interested to see if it works well is this Maybelline superstay powder this is what he used as the under eyye powder this is something that I probably never would have picked up in a million years and never would have used because it's a powder foundation and I always think of powder foundations is way too heavy to set your makeup with so I'm really shocked believe it or not I'm using May Color Stay powder this stuff is like iron he did call it color stay but they don't make a color stay so I figured he was talking about the superstay and this looked most like the package that he held up in the video going to take the aquafor lip balm and just going to rub it underneath this eye he did a couple of passes with it paded in this has really great ingredients it's got hoba oil it's got shea butter it's got Castor seed oil in it it's got a lot of really great moisture izing ingredients and I think that probably the thing that works best here is that it has some wax in it most lip balms do and that's probably what does the filling in effect it definitely is going to be hydrating under the eyes it might be a little heavy for some people um and I know that some people I had heard were concerned about it causing Mila I would suggest if you want to do this like on an everyday basis that you get a really mild exfoliant like the ordinary has a 5% lactic acid serum you can use set every day you can use it right up under your eyes you might have to ease in with it to avoid irritation but keeping that skin exfoliated is what decreases your chances of getting Mila because milia is really just dead skin cells trapped underneath the surface of the skin and something that's super occlusive like this could cause something like that to happen if you're doing it every day I'm going to use my Holy Grail concealer which is fairly crease proof on me this is the Lancome Ultra tint EO concealer I wear it in the shade 250 which is buff neutral and I'm just going to put a little bit at the inner Corner a little line of it out here do the same on both eyes and I'm going to break out a nice new clean a506 brush to blend that out oh I always forget how soft these brushes are you know I use mine for a while before I clean it and uh they do get a little you know gunked up and sticky it's good to to have a few on hand so soft so smooth and my goodness the blend so beautiful okay go ahead and do the other side and I like to concentrate most of my under eye concealer at the inner Corner because that's where I have my discolorations and then just spread a little bit of it out to the outer Corner because that's where most of my wrinkles are but I do have my fair share of wrinkles directly under under my eyes so I got this in the shade 118 and I'm going to use a BK 108 brush to apply it with now where this is a powder foundation I really don't want to pick up a lot of this cuz I'm afraid it's going to be kind of heavy so let me go ahead and just take a little bit of that and tap it off I'm just going to go ahead and press that lightly under my eye since it does have the balm under it it is fairly luminous and this looks like it's a pretty matte powder I'll also use it to set places that I will set with my other powder on the other side I'm going to go ahead and use my Holy Grail powder which is my NYX mineral matte powder in the shade light medium and I'm going to use a different brush just because that brush now has the Maybelline powder on it I'm going to use an e.l. blush brush for this side pick up the powder tap it off and I'm just going to lay it in there trying to duplicate what he did in the little insta video although it does go fast and it is kind of hard to see what was going on the whole time all right so both sides are done let's take a look at it am I seeing this wrong or do my wrinkles look huge on the lip balm side I'm assuming my wrinkles are roughly the same size on both sides this is my driver side window side so they could be bigger on this side but I mean this I feel like this is magnifying my wrinkles I mean it's not like I don't have any wrinkles on this side I do I still have the diagonal ones and the little under eye ones but this side is just making it look twice as big dang it luckily I had taken some before pictures of my under eye wrinkles and looked looking at this it looks like my wrinkles on both sides are pretty much the same size before I put on any makeup so it looks to me like the aquafor hack is really making the wrinkles under the eye on the right side of the screen be extra accentuated and it's not that my wrinkles on that side are just so much bigger because it's the driver's side all right let me finish my makeup and then I'll wear it all day we'll do a like 8 Hour wear test on it it's 1:00 now makeup is done the rest of what I used was the Milani Cream Blush I just bought this last week I love this this is amazing it's called the cheek kiss and it's a nude kiss so easy to apply not overly pigmented really really good stuff then I used the e.l.f Halo Beauty wand contour for my bronzing nose under here blah blah blah elf Halo glow highlighter at the high points of my cheeks above my brows a little bit under my chin I use the essence lash Without Limits mascara and for my lips I have Milani color statement lip liner in nude topped with Maybelline matte lipstick in daringly nude I feel like I can see from a distance that my wrinkles on this side look so much bigger with this balm and this powder I don't know if it's the balm or the powder or just the powder or just the balm or the combination of two but I feel like even just looking at myself this eye looks so much more rested and so much more youthful just without smiling and you know making my eyes crinkle up uh and this side just looks a little bit droopy and sad and I don't understand why this isn't working for me now where I put it in the nasal labal folds not sure it's doing anything for me there oh oh it's making my Foundation settle in my wrinkles on this side and not on this side let's take a look at the under eyes and then the little wrinkle over here dang it another one bites the dust please you guys tell me if you ran out and bought all these products and if you tried them and if it worked for you I have to know just let me know if it's me all right you guys time to check in on the Scott Barnes Aqua for hack in natural light I'm just standing in front of a window here and let me make sure that this is nice and focus so this is the aqua for eye and this is the eye without I am back it's time for a 4-Hour check-in on the makeup and not shockingly it still doesn't look great it looks worse than the eye with my regular uh concealer and setting powder it still looks 20 times better than the concealer under this eye also the makeup on this side looks 20 times better than the makeup on this side hey guys I'm back it's 9:15 so it's time for an 8 Hour checkin on the makeup what I can see from here is that the concealer on this side is much more worn off than on this side it's much more creased on this side than on this side and it also made my mascara um smear onto my under eye area whereas on this eye I don't have any of that as far as the nasal folds a look much more shiny on this side of my face and the makeup is much more gathered up in my wrinkle on this side and also looking more broken up on the surface on this side as well and the non aquafor side just looks so much better overall less heavy less cakey less settled in wrinkles so for me the aquafor lip balm experiment today was an epic fail I don't like anything going on on this side of my face I prefer this side of my face a lot more as far as how it looks right now and have from just about minute one of this experiment so I going to give it another try tomorrow and we'll see how it goes I at this point don't have High Hopes but I really am hoping for something to happen cuz you know I don't know I I want these things to work but you know what can I say have no idea why it didn't uh could be my skin type I don't have dry skin I have combo skin so I am oily through the T-Zone but not super oily just a little bit through the T-Zone I have some dry patches around my mouth and my temples and the rest of my face is fairly normal hello and greetings from the future so I have actually at this point tried the aquafor concealer hack three days in a row I just wanted to let you know that I did try to make this work and that for me I could just never get it to work no matter what I tried so I don't love it I don't love this by itself with my regular stuff I don't love it with this I just don't love the whole thing I think my normal concealer setup is much much better looks nicer and smoother longer so this one unfortunately after 3 days of struggling to make it work it just is not something that I'm ever going to do again not something that I can really highly recommend just because it didn't work on me but I would love to hear from you I want to hear if you guys have tried this if you did did you love it was it an instant success did it just make your skin look beautiful under your eyes with your concealer on and change how you felt about your concealer if so I'm really happy about that you know I always want these things to work I never go into it like I'm going to make this not work you know some people will actually comment and say you applied it wrong just so it won't work I'm like what is the advantage to me of having it not work you know the goal for any video is to find a a great product a great hack and have it work having it be a fail doesn't do anything for me except give me a video where I'm like w w and it's just that it didn't work for me that I'm not saying that it's not going to work for everyone and that I'm not saying that it doesn't work great when Scott Barnes does it because of course the professional makeup artists they do all those extra special little tricks that they do that really do make the things bulletproof and work really well unfortunately in my late person's hands or maybe it's my skin or maybe it's you know a thousand other things who knows what it could be but this just didn't work for me so that is it for today's video everybody tried the hack it didn't work I am not thrilled kind of bummed about it actually but
