Hey guys! Welcome back to Lavendaire. Today I want to share life advice that everyone needs to hear. This was originally tailored to recent college grads because it is graduation season and it's a time where everyone's figuring out their lives and starting a new career, a new path. But I feel like this advice applies to everyone, so I'm just gonna open it up for everyone. The first piece of life advice is: Take your biggest risks while you're young. This was advice given to me by my business professors in college and it really stuck with me to take your biggest risks while you're young. You want to take risks while you're young because when you're young, you have nothing to lose or very little to lose, especially if you're a recent graduate. You don't really have that much responsibility, that many burdens in your life. The older you get, the more responsibilities, obligations, and those kinds of things pile on to make it harder for you to take risks. It's harder to take risks when you have a child or a mortgage. As you get older, those responsibilities pile on. So while you're still young, take your biggest risks now. And the fun part of that is: You are the youngest that you will ever be, right now, in this moment. It's kind of scary to think of it that way, but it's true! In the next minute, you're one minute older. And in five minutes, you're five minutes older. Time is the one thing that you cannot rewind and you cannot get more of. So take your biggest risks now. Another note on taking risks and why it's important to take risks is: When you take a risk, you give yourself an option of a greater reward. The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward. But the bigger the risk, the bigger the chance for failure as well. When you take a risk, that's what makes it so scary and exciting. It can go well or it can not go so well. But while you're young, you have less to lose and so it's okay to fail a few times. Failure isn't bad. You actually do want to fail, so take your risks, fail, learn from them, and the more courageous you are to take those risks, the more abundance and reward you're going to find in your life because some of those risks might work out, and it might take you to somewhere amazing that you can never have gone if you just decided to play it safe. So at this point, you may be thinking, "Okay, I get it. I should take some risks while I'm young, but what risks do I take? How do I know what's right for me?" So this brings me to #2. The second lesson is: Get to know your inner voice. Get to know your intuition, what it's saying, your heart, your guiding light. However you want to refer to it, it is that voice inside of yourself that knows what you honestly, truly want. And for others, you might have to work on getting to know that inner voice and being able to distinguish when it's "you", that inner voice or whether it's the voice of your parents, society, or peers or someone else's opinion, because the point of life is to live for yourself and to create the life that you want for yourself. But in order to figure out what that is, you have to really get to know yourself, get to know your intuition, journal – journaling is my favorite way to talk to that inner voice and let it come out so that I know what I'm truly thinking and feeling, because if you don't take the time to get to know yourself, you're going to think that you want something that you don't actually want just because maybe someone else has it or someone else told you that that was a good thing to want. For example: You might find that the dreams that you had your entire life are actually just the dreams of your parents, that they drilled into your head, and what you truly want is something else, and that's a realization of, "Oh, I think I have this inner voice in me that's guiding me in a different direction." And if you feel that, then definitely listen to that voice. The point of life is to continue to live aligned to that voice. The third piece of advice is to be proactive, not passive. You cannot just sit there and expect things to come your way. You cannot just sit there and expect things to change for you in your life. Life is not magic. You actually have to be proactive, take action, make choices that take you to where you want to go. There's that once quote that says something along the lines of, "If you don't know where you're going, you're going to end up somewhere else," because that's how life is. If you have no idea of what you want and you just sit there and go with the flow, live your day-to-day life, then you're just going to end up somewhere random. And to me, that's a waste of time because first you gotta figure out what you want and then you gotta be proactive, take action, talk to people, do whatever it takes to make your life happen for you, because nobody's going to hand you anything. You have to really go out and get it. This was a lesson that I also learned in one of my internships, just to have a proactive work ethic. If you're in a job situation and nobody's giving you instructions on what to do, instead of just sitting there and waiting for instructions, you use your brain to think for other people, "Okay, what needs to be done? How can I help this person? How can I be of value to this workplace or this community or this group?" if you're in a group project or something. All you really need to do is put more thought into it, ask yourself: "How can I be more proactive in this situation, rather than just sitting and waiting for things to happen?" Alright, moving onto the fourth lesson: Always be stretching your comfort zone. Most of us, naturally, like to stay in our comfort zone because it's safe, it's easy, we're used to it. But the hard truth in life that I had to learn and realize is: If you're not growing, you're shrinking. If you're not progressing, you're backtracking and that is the sad truth, because you think that you can just stay the same and you can coast, but that's not true. You can never stay the same. You cannot just be constant because the only constant in life is change, right? So you're either moving forward or you're moving backwards, and if you're not pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, then you're shrinking your comfort zone and I've definitely experienced the shrinking of your comfort zone. For example: in college and high school, I was used to seeing a lot of people, going out, social events, and that was pretty normal for me. But outside of school and everything, I don't get to see people as much because I work from home so I have little social interaction. So if I haven't seen people for a while and I go out, there's a little bit of that "Ugh…", that social anxiety, that "Oh my god, it's so uncomfortable. Do I even want to go to this event I'm invited to?" You feel that your comfort zone has shrunk. But, for example, if you're consistently going out weekly and you're seeing people on the daily, it's not a big deal to see people. So that's an example of your comfort zone shrinking. Another metaphor and example is your health, your fitness. Growing your muscles is like stretching your comfort zone. When you're doing workouts that push you, that are painful and really tough, where you feel like you're going to die, then that's a good thing because you're growing. Yesterday, I did this really, really tough megaformer pilates class and I felt like I was going to die. I was in that mode where I'm cheating and giving up but just still pushing myself on. And then today I did another workout class, I did yoga where I just felt so strong, and I know it's because I went through that thing yesterday that made me stronger today. And if didn't put in the work to work on myself and push those boundaries, then I wouldn't have been as strong as I am now. I hope that makes sense. You gotta push yourself and it's never going to be easy. It's not comfortable, obviously, to stretch your comfort zone. But if you're not growing, you're shrinking. So it's your choice, what do you want to do? Forwards, backwards. That's the harsh truth of reality, that you just gotta keep pushing forward and keep stretching and growing in all areas of your life. The last piece of advice that I want to share today is: Invest in yourself, especially if you're young, if you're a recent grad. Time is your greatest asset, because when you're young, you have so much time, so much life left to live, that you can use that time to read books, pick up new skills, new hobbies, new life experiences, sign up for an online course, whether it's free or paid. Really just keep learning outside of school because all of that is going to help you in your life and you're just going to be a more well-rounded, knowledgeable, intelligent, smart person. I never regret buying books. I never regret investing in courses or anything that invests in myself. If you want to be a content creator, invest in a good camera, invest in tools and resources that can help you in your career, in your life, or better you as a person. If you've been really wanting to get fit, invest in a gym membership or a yoga membership to your favorite studio. Those are investments that I would not regret making because they're there to benefit yourself. There's a way to spend money to simply consume, and there's a way to spend money to invest in yourself. Consuming would be spending money on food or clothes or things that are temporary and fleeting that you're going to forget about, that won't make a lasting impact on your life. Whereas investing is a way for you to spend money on things that will help you in the long-term, that will make a lasting impact and change you as a person for the better. Of course, there's that grey area in between. I guess some food can change your life for the better or some items of clothing can be investment pieces. I mean, there's a lot of grey area. But what I'm trying to say is: Don't be cheap with yourself. You can be cheap in other areas of life, like maybe you're shopping for groceries or clothes or whatever. But with yourself, your life, and your future, invest in yourself. Do what you can to give yourself the best chance at life because you are your greatest asset and you're going to be living with you for the rest of your life, so you might as well invest in the things that help you. Speaking of investing in yourself, I am super excited to share with you the new online course that I created. It is my first online course and it's called "Create Your Dream Life with Lavendaire". What it is, is a six-week program of videos and worksheets to lead you through creating your dream life, step by step, from discovering yourself, figuring out what you're meant to do, to designing your dream life, how to put it into action and actually make that dream life a reality, and also how to overcome your fears, remove limiting blocks or anything that might be holding you back. This course is essentially a compilation of everything I learned about how to create your dream life, how to make your dreams a reality, into the most structured and organized format that I can ever create. And it's essentially what I wanted when I was 21 and lost in life, had no idea what I wanted to do. So I want to say that this course is great for recent grads, but you don't have to be a recent grad. It is for anyone who is lost in their life, who is not sure of what they're meant to, who needs some guidance on figuring out their way, and maybe some guidance on breaking through any blocks that might have been holding them back, because usually it is yourself. It is your mindset that is holding you back from actually achieving your goals and making your dreams real. There's so much unpeeling of the layers that we're going to do in this course and I'm really excited to have something so structured and organized to take you guys through it. There's also going to be two bonus workshops, one on law of attraction and manifesting, and another one on healing past wounds, and that one I'm really excited for because I've never shared any of that on my YouTube channel and that one's really deep, really personal and really effective and powerful, so that one I'm excited for. We're also going to have a Facebook community, so you'll have support and accountability throughout the program. And I'll be doing three live Q&A video chat sessions in that Facebook group so if you want live one-on-one action with me, if you want personal interaction with me, then join during the live run which is during June and July. So join now - the course will go from June 15th to the end of July and those are the months that I'll be super active and doing the live Q&As in the group. If you've done the Dream Life Series on my channel, you might be wondering how is this similar or different from that. The Dream Life Series, I would say, is the beginner version of this course, and the course is the advanced version because the course has more content, more topics, more worksheets. It'll go more in depth and detail than what I did with the Dream Life Series. I'd say the Dream Life Series covers the surface level of these topics and the Create Your Dream Life course dives way deep into each topic in more detail and there's more inner work for you to do. And also, since I've created the Dream Life Series – it's been a year, so I've learned so much in the past year that I'll be adding new lessons and insights into the course. It's going to be the most comprehensive, structured, step-by-step program that I can possibly create to handhold you through creating your dream life. And I'm confident that, if you are in a place where you're lost and frustrated in life, that you will come out of it with so much more clarity and a plan for what you want to do, how to do it, and you'll even have gone through those exercises to lift those fears away, lift those limiting blocks away. And I'm just super excited to have you guys go through the course and see the changes that you guys make in your lives. So please, if you want to learn more, click that link down below. We're doing an early bird pricing, so for the first week, the pricing will be lower. And I think after June 9th, the price will go up to its regular price. Also, since this is my first time launching an online course, I wanted to do something special for you guys. So I've decided to give out 10 free scholarships to the Create Your Dream Life course. So if you win a scholarship, you get to go through the entire course and program for free. You get to join the group, you get everything that's included in Create Your Dream Life. To enter to win a scholarship, find this photo that I posted on Instagram, comment with why you want to take the course, tag two friends, and make sure you're followed to Lavendaire on Instagram. And we'll be choosing 10 scholarship winners on June 12th. The course officially begins June 15th, so you'll find out, a couple days before the course starts, if you have a scholarship. Alright, I'll leave it at that. If you want to learn more about the course and read what's in each module, just click that link down below and make sure that you don't wait until early bird pricing is over because it's over June 9th, so sign up before then. Alright, love you guys so much. Bye!
