foreign [Music] so we have a lot of stuff to do today um I'll give y'all a little checklist first thing we have to do is swap the combines over to Corn which consists of mainly just concaves and then you have to do some other outside adjustments that doesn't take very long and computers which that also doesn't take very long the second thing we have to do is either mine or mom's combines are getting a feeder house chain we have to look and see which one's worse there's only John Deere only had one feeder house chain left um they never have a feeder house chain I don't know why that's such a problem no one has a feeder house chain so we got the last one and we're gonna put it on whichever combine needs it the most second thing is we are going to change some clean grain and tailings elevators I think those are pretty wore out as well so I don't know if we're doing both combines or one or if we're doing just clean grain or just tailings um but you'll see as we go so y'all might be wondering Hayden y'all are in a barn like why don't you just change concave in here instead of the wind uh the farmer stores his bags in here because he is a dealer so he has a new order of shipment of bags that need to go right there right where we parked so it never fails at home we don't even have a barn to put the combines in we okay I take that back we have a barn to put you know the front of a combine in like maybe engine room forward can fit in the barn and that's that's about it so in the springtime um about 99.5 percent of the time uh we are outside working on the what I'm trying to get at is it's nothing new working on a combine outside in the wind rain or shine or okay well we won't work on it in the rain but in the wind or shine I should say we're gonna lose some tension roll this chain around and see if there's a half link that we can take out so these are your elevator chains this one will be your clean drain it's bigger this one's your tailings it's a little smaller so we have mine mine moms moms it doesn't really matter they're all the same [Applause] so my feeder house chain the teeth are on the bottom mom's feeder house chain it's on the top looking up to see what is right I feel like it should be on the bottom that's your leading it comes down it should grab it first rather than grabbing it on top doesn't even make sense so the bottle oh yeah so mom's Zone backwards also changing the feeder house chain out is not part of switching it over to Corn it's just four out I don't know so while Dad's doing that Cody and John are changing concaves this is what small wire gum caves look like as you can see they're small wires right here single one this is already broke you can see where it's been ripping on me I don't make many more rounds no no so when Dad rolled over this chain it was already broke at least this one was but it's uh you could use some attention it's not that we don't want to fix it it's that John Deere doesn't have a single one maybe we should be in feeder House business go buy a whole bunch of feeder house chains someone just go stock up on some feeder house chains and then sell them it could be a whole business so the farmer had a brand new one and the shed that we bought from him so we're gonna put that in because that one is that one's pretty wore out um and then we have one that we bought that will go into moms [Applause] so you hook the new one to the old one and then when you take it out this will fall into place let me hook it back a lot easier oh [Music] so we went about halfway in um now it's kind of wrapped around the sprocket wrong so it's kind of stuck so we're gonna have to Cody's getting up here and there's some black covers right here um and he's gonna get it back on the sprocket that way we can keep on pulling it [Music] turns out of trash so in corn you put your feet accelerator on low well she's just under the tensioner right here and put it on a different one that diagram basically tells you what you do all right so since mom's feeder house chain was in there backwards this one actually lines up and we don't have to use strings it sounds like when it breaks mom is watching Emma's YouTube always I guess there's this red Loctite that's pretty applied yep farmer bought a new tractor and high speed disc this thing is sweet oh man this thing is nice what I think makes it look super mean is the tracks are spaced out I don't know what kind of spacing that is but wow that looks good [Applause] do you ever feel like someone's watching you Cody foreign so it's way easier to take this cover right here off to your concave though matter of fact I don't even know if you can take your concaves out without taking that thing out try it that's it put it back again that's good baby Okay jump cut so if it looks a little later in the day I look a little more drastic because we are so Cody and I stopped doing this combines concaves because Dad and John put new elevator chains and this one and this one so that being said they were right here this is also where you need to be to change concave this is on the right side of the combine yeah look at that hole that you have to climb through pretty sure case is uh way better clearance to change concaves but in the meantime when they were doing that Cody and I changed mom's concaves these are round bars the hole is a little bigger than the small wires because a corn kernel is bigger than a wheat kernel so you get a bigger hole for it to fall through so here's what a small wire concave looks like the rotor basically grinds the wheat across this as a I guess sifter and then the wheat kernels fall through along with some husk and some straw you can see some straw you know it might fall through that hole for example if it was a big straw um oh I was running away from me um see it wouldn't fall through it would just go like this all the way around the rotor all the way out into the chopper and it will tear this up into you know basically powder but the wheat seeds and some husk will get through there but a corn kernel is probably bigger than this so if you ran small wires in corn it would just keep on going down the rotor and go out of the chopper that's exactly what you don't want to happen so which way this way I'm ready to drag it to the back whenever you are okay foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] you know the front [Music] back one slid down Cody you push the back under the back [Music] all these the same because this one looks a lot longer all right after that taking you know three times longer than it was supposed to we got it on John is blowing out air filters getting those ready to go and there's some other little things that we need to do such as putting the chopper in low and then you come over here and this is your Cobb deflector we have to push that oh he already did that so it was up here now it's down here so you do not have your cob deflector up um well it'll basically just destroy your sieves so make sure to put that down in corn make sure your stationary knives are down for corn there's absolutely no need for you to have your your knives in you're not really chopping up residue I mean it will chop it up but if you have that much leaves going in your combine then your deck plates are too tight so so mainly what comes out of your chopper is basically Cobb and that's exactly what you want so you don't really chop up Cobb I mean it might split it in half or a fourth but it's not gonna you know turn it into powder unless he already did that it looks like he already did that yep that turned low that's pretty much it other than changing your computer stuff to corn yeah I don't know why they would do three different doors we screwed them all together made one big door it works just fine you're gonna have this one off you might as well have the rest of it all so I don't know why they didn't make that just one big door or they could put hinges and have it open up like this you know on hydraulic things not actual Hydraulics but like a shot yeah yeah I don't know why they don't do that that'd be way easier than doing 18 million Clips on the bottom here and trying to get it Up and Under and where it doesn't leak also another thing that you have to do when you switch to Corn is put your rotor in first you spin it really slow I think wheat wheat we normally run the rotor on 850 900 even up where it's the 950 um if it's really tough and corn I believe are in the high 300s I could be wrong on that but we'll see so to switch to corn feed accelerator on low rotor and first gear Chopper and low cob deflector down round bar concaves in and I'm pretty sure that's it so Dad brought the small wire concaves over here we're gonna put one set on the bottom right here and then put these on top like I said and then we're gonna put the other set right here AG with Emma okay back to what we were doing thank you everywhere that tractor is still sweet matter of fact Emma's sitting in it right now hold on we gotta go get a cab tour you want to smell it it smells nice dude this is nice I don't know about the carpet though negative now you have to buy a vacuum cleaner yeah we'll probably just take it out but they're saying swanky it's like wide too oh it's supposed to be like a row crop tractor is what they said but if it's row crop they still have the wide tracks on it so there's no point of them being offset you know it's like it looks meaner though look at the seat that's pink I thought it was one of those massaging seats and it's not [Music] it's not that one but no massaging oh that's sad also John Deere came out this morning and put a new hydrostat on here very nice so the last thing to do today is load both combines and I don't know if we're pulling both combines with both headers or if we're doing one hopper um we'll just have to see [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] all right I didn't record the second combine being loaded but y'all's seen it a hundred times it's the exact same thing as we did with the other one so behind this combine we're going to have the dolly and Hopper behind number one combine we're going to have the Draper it is supposed to rain tonight but if you watched yesterday's video you knew that we pulled these plugs up there to the bin I don't know if y'all can see that it's gonna go even though we do have powerful bins uh water does still get in there and when it does get in there it'll come and pour out of that drain that's in the bottom of the grain tank and obviously you know not stay in the grain tank um [Music] [Music] did you jump yeah I jumped yeah I jumped that is changing fuel filters on the 88 [Music] yeah I took over Emma's tractor I don't know when we are going to start hauling um tomorrow we're just gonna watch the weather um it's supposed to be a really bad storm tomorrow the next day and the next day the last the next three days it's supposed to be pretty bad uh weather-wise so we'll just have to watch uh the weather and see what we're gonna do so after this video it will be three days possibly for I don't know we'll just have to see um until the next video comes out the next video will be us hauling the combines so those are always interesting I know a lot of y'all like to see the combines being hauled so that'll be in the next video but that's gonna be it for today's video thank you all for watching and I will see you all in a couple days
