as i say you know it was a challenge to keep the eptones together i said i mean i three three people you know three different personalities so yeah i have challenges but they say that earl was the one who kind of was the most difficult to deal with did some some some things yeah you know where i'm going right now yeah i'm gonna understand man yeah yeah i understand um eventually you guys left studio one yeah was that because of the monetary situation that was a major part of it because they weren't getting nowhere financially there you know i mean so after producing so many hit songs and doing so much arrangement but my father doing it because we can see things deep inside of me i i i always have some insight something where spiritual in depth of of concept where like i'm like for instance right with the trench stone my granny gave me alcohol granny loved me more than anything else yeah he loved me more than life you know that was our main thing to give medical goats and one night when and i remember just bursting out you know that everybody granted them a killer good idea and everybody said love i know i know where that comes from everywhere i think it's ridiculous [Music] i know nothing about music and i do not um invest into things that i know yeah i went to coxswain yes all right no cox and that's a demand family in hearing in aries all of these things all of these people you know i've laid out that their energy their their creativity everything yeah you know what i mean it's it's weird so you you guys left coxswain because yeah someone went to origin you know why they're different here it's all different fields right right right right you know and then that's where we we wait i mean i mean that album you know it was really good yes on top no no um rg it was um um yeah we did not know we scratched though so what's that to get closer to island no not really you know we just have to do something music what we're doing yes because i was in in canada i didn't bring my dog oh so you also come home yeah periodically yes you went to canada 1977 74 74. yeah how long were you there for 73 we were in england okay and i spent 20 years you know playing two years working for it yeah you know got married over there and divorced over there [Laughter] 20 years that is a long time from the heartbeat even when you used to come yeah yeah that's a long time from the heartbeat yeah no i'm saying i read you could go ahead theater but i read something where you got between 1977 and 1990 you got 20 awards from june award to best vocalist best songwriter best performer best at ranger best best best best player best best one of the best one of the best are the best one of the best oh yes um yeah the major award was very important to me though together you know yes the the top canada top kenyan award i love the good one in canada so these are just for example kenya and black music our top male vocalist 79 79 again special award recipient top reggae album eight 1980 top meal vocalist separate producer member to the all of fame that was 1982 performer of the year top bs played player 82 82 again top near single album of the year male vocalist top singer top album top performer album of the year tap me and say all right done and that was just canada yes yes you receive all the bob marley achievement award in 1990 new york regular music award new york regular musical what again best comeback artist 91 10th annual beans music our top vintage performer jcdc national song best performer tootsie by 12 in 1997. you entered that year yeah it felt like it didn't fit yeah you felt like yeah don't feel like putting in a song you know yes that was too big someone's too big for the competition yeah caribbean kennedy and pageant lifetime achievement award 2000 and a big one in my opinion i'm to tell foolishness to you know yeah disney song then where we're really yes of course what they said that usually yes a simple jamaican song sure i mean i write this big song yeah i think in 2002 you were honored by the government of jamaica art of distinction so it is leri civilized od you know it is big bad thing yeah and sometimes you know because um the music is doing good to me yes you know because it makes a it made an unknown known i know them yes you know and apart from that you know i i i i've been so many places and see all the music you know you know make people yes yes you know with joy and you know love of music and yeah you know what i'm saying yes you know it's it's it's the best thing to be in you know music yeah and i would if i had a choice of being a politician and a musician yes musician greater influence in a longer time about the people positive influence you get more love yes you were very successful with the eptones but when you went solo yeah you were also very successful yeah because that doesn't mean i don't think you know what does it mean yes you know yes so it all proves itself as as my life goes along with which segment are they are the journey you have more fond memories of those so simply sola or eptones solar you know so allah yes you know why i well barry but before i say that yes we had to do it do it part of the epidurals right for a while yes but it's a tour oh okay there's a tour you were before you died yes and that was a you enjoy yes and you can go on online and answer some other clippings yeah man i did man i did yes i did i did i me and barry lewellen got an encore i don't remember which country exactly was that in bel and the antwerp festival i don't remember i don't remember we did a lot of morning three years yeah together you know but we did a certain that that um you have to walk like about four four stories down right there's a room today today the venue yes it was on the same place right and when we when we exited the the venue the work showed in the encore right yes i was so tired so that we had to wait down the wheel and when we up top they might have to come back down there go back down height of energy of the encore that we left it good memory yes man yes don't imagine the kind of show that they are yeah yes some people are stupid in them people are stupid yeah i'm feeling okay you can't yeah yeah you can't i hate that right you know when it that's why bob said when the music hits you you're feeling apparent but you can identify of all the monster hits with the eptones because on a one and two or three or four many of them we mentioned some of them earlier which one of those songs give you the greatest satisfaction when you're irritated when you play it when you sing it well what yeah this song this song um why did they leave me why did you leave me to cry yes it has more than one time affected the audience our certain audience that bring tears to them eyes yes i remember one time in japan i remember this lady in um new jersey something that we're doing yes i see him thing like people you know it it touches them and some bring back some memories that bring tears you know so that sound of evil emotions in different venues exactly why did they leave it okay you know and and [Music] that is that is something really important yes yeah man give the people my feelings sung the sun rich i remember in l.a another show you know [Music] music affect people in elementary in europe back in new york let's go back in europe a little bit sure another show i think is this is it um uh spain it was in spain there were not some spanish people here yes the people were lined up we were very close to the states there's i and they're very close to the stage and we're the band we've been playing for a while all right so it's very tight and nice show going on an idea so i'm not singing to this special girl this is a spanish girl you know yeah now sing some songs i give it to iran [Laughter] [Laughter] [Laughter] [Laughter] two two black girls that is dancing and going on i'm not saying i'm in the mood now i'm in the this is the girl i forgot to go there oh no but [Laughter] i slipped up [Laughter] in europe you have good experience eptone experience especially with barry yes yes barry and i together because um barry cannon with his own yes you know and that that was very good you know to me i i love that you know and if earl could always like barry would i would have had a better group you know i would have i would have had more chance to concentrate on my thing right you know and on my lead and i'll get some better later there let me see now if you're thinking about it everywhere yes yes the solar journey and when did you actually go solar door officially when i went to canada when i went to canada yeah you know the guys left and they got down nago yes nago [Laughter] it was a nice person out of business what a business yeah happy to hear that yeah that that that is important no no it was a very very nice fuller joker yeah some skunk arguments yes yes yes but um i'm tied with so the solar carrier gave you as much success more than in some instances yes more freedom more freedom oh yes more creative freedom more mental freedom more mental freedom which was important and freedom of service very important important freedom that entered their freedom freedom of the mind yes it's the greatest thing in the world so you did you do really one of the other left cracks in place and on a drink drink stress that killer i will so the situation there kind of adjusts from people to jail stress stress stress but your healthier i was not drinking everything that was always [Laughter] yeah i drank three beers in canada i went to jail i went to jail oh yeah i do have to educate there you're drinking three beer and got ninja trouble right that's an accident oh yeah don't break oh what drink [Laughter] come visit me you know okay sorry there were me it was a strange this week when i came back out so i can imagine a year 2 years 20 years 20 years life two telling us unconscious and something one i could join i was disoriented no nothing no everything was yeah different one week you would stay at that prison remember you did you read it some of the the epitome people come out and understand [Music] i know you read it somebody up to one songs as i saw as solos yes yes yes back in canada back in canada yeah yeah and that great success yeah yes so you did the entire album back then not really yeah i don't think i did the entire album but it's summoning songs some of the songs [Music] party time was another big songs again right which were some of the songs as a solos that really and truly kicked on some places for farmers are siblings uh sounds like um come on now that was up to him no that was that was you okay that wasn't me for me that's something that we did for i need your love i need your love yes yeah yeah yeah oh yeah yeah we're going to fight to the top that was coxsey coxswain again yeah you want luigi culture did rap me was a a remix of a song ah that was just an original thing you know early recipes that um i can't remember that i did i produced myself doing it oh okay you know um ain't no love ain't no love right and that's right production very first thing ever i suddenly realized i said i might really make money you know oh after uh oh so after ain't no love you realize that's all money i met yeah business you know yeah [Laughter] [Music] to the top i said that's for coxson yes but it's a lot of songs many songs many songs too many songs i'm telling you okay right for the for the solo part of the journey which one of those songs resonate the most with leroy sibley's door you know what's it you know what's a rock uncommon come on i'm one of the biggest things a big saguaro a big sacrifice i literally it's some afrikaners but it's not really it too yeah because i i'm producing young youth called young you know they love them love it and that's one of the biggest children come on i didn't know that yeah actually so the one that i want to do i think yes looking at the whole thing from them time till now father epton skull yeah even though yesterday on on the nehemiah yeah you have touched many aspects of the musical fraternity their creativity with their skill with their style which part of the music i enjoy the most what i really enjoy the most is is um looking over the wall the whole thing i don't know what you know what i've done yeah i'm feeling really good yeah you know what i understand which which aspect are the music what are engine based vocal writing the whole thing come together the world think the world package you know because whatever you have to do within the business though whatever part that i offer you have at that moment to you know that's it yeah get it done yeah i mean you work with many artists you played on many songs which artists were coming at the studio where the vibe that working with them was just you enjoy that i mean but but yeah man back then um everybody knows everyone everyone because you see appearances and um i love what i was doing i didn't do it with no partiality you know i don't know right you know if i shall nobody you know and most of these people they are grateful to me yes you know for being there and getting them things done outside of outside of studio one with these baselines other people too you know there is someone there follow it up jack it up come again again and play some more whaling swords whaling swords yes [Music] yes and it's a pleasure it's a pleasure it's a good thing doing good things you know it's it's a great things man i always go to the good things yes so you enjoy every aspect that i mean music at the business at the business to be a part of it too yes you know because these are all around some people are just vocalists some people are just basis exactly some people are yeah yes sucks upon insanity singer by your company yeah you play any other instrument outside uh gets based on this not really no i'm a grumpy [Laughter] fair enough you not as i said you don't only work and i know the reason to talk to i'm not studying i'm going to you know where you're catching what that's what i don't get so yeah definitely the greatest thing in music yes [Music] [Music] [Laughter] you know [Laughter] yes me play me i love that guy so much give me a five yes outside i'm not talking about um thing that i've recorded outside of of studio one right yeah i'm a player altanellis and um too late to turn back to turn but [Music] still in love with the thing after after 15 years years i've got 50 years i choose not necessarily not the sweeter the seeds that need you have also done production work with big names as well oh yes yeah well i i got a goal record for um collaboration with a man called um yes feel good with him ep with martial griffiths um i cried you're playing on that yeah feel good really manga anthony cruz but yeah people like you are on it marcia [Music] you have some big names on that brother oh yes yes man nice you have done solar albums about seven yes no strictly roots evidence on top meanwhile it's not over and rock on come on yeah and all those albums have been well received yeah feels good yeah we did that we never did a great at something that was a big hit in canada [Music] so when you and jackie link up when you went to canada oh yes oh okay oh yeah oh yeah and i look forward jackie though yeah i'm doing this i'm messing up yeah yeah yeah we figured i wrong think i love jackie mitchell i i made him steer me into something that messed up my memory oh i trusted him so much when he caught your tingo he brought a white man from from england bring him come come with me sign to them thing from jackie commented my and royalties publishing on these things i've learned it yeah i learned the business of the business the hard way but i've learned it and have it set so i'm i'm collecting even from some of them these lines and some of them sung done so i think [Music] you are also doing production we mentioned young garvey definitely he i saw you called him on sun fest yeah one of them time i don't remember with some festival i think that was the first time you actually see him still yeah so he's the only person actually working with yeah yeah because i i i i i i'd like to see the success of one individual one and another thing and and nobody now got you going nowhere you know coming up you know i'm not here if you don't live off another one area so how is it i i see him as artists that that um can go places yes full of energy and full of vibes he have inspiration how is he progressing though yeah yeah the name is spreading spreading yes when i best teach i saw when i expected really good and oh yes i've got the handle and you've got the blades yes pros can't do anything with brand new beautiful socks [Laughter] no shows not a key partner poor the possible and then sometimes no good news that man exactly no good news yeah someone coming out work at one of them time uh africa i know i've got a lot of um i've been there i know yes yes you have so much little things that you have to get done because oh and you have to make sure it's everything in place yes i've is there a management structure and so our siblings [Laughter] yes a man who married out a million different achievements and award zone zen but looking at the journey's recipients what would you say is your single greatest achievement musically that is the thing that you're most proud about oh that's a good one you know because um you know what what i should say is my late recognition your late recognition yes very late and why is it lit because um the the the credits were not issued from the earlier times no musicians were ever credited for these things that we did that we have done right all of the conversations i appreciate that so people who are close to the business know who would order that or some or what you know what yes you know so right now i'm getting i'm getting the attention that i should have been getting yeah way back then yes but the good thing about it i'm here right now getting the attention even though it's late attention it's great attention [Laughter] recognition and credits for your work yeah i appreciate that yes because i put the door earlier and then people forget which is true oh my god are you putting the work on you're very deserving sir thank you yeah and while doing the research the truth is that i can't tell you i'm a student and lyrics it is doing the research yeah i know hearing him realize the greatness of the mind yes thank you yeah looking at well is there anything musically well here i simply is not achieve it i'm still up here achieve i at my stage any age i i i'm just doing and enjoying myself and anything happens just happened yeah i may not give thanks like i i i i just did over um try me but i mean yes did great and it's still going and still growing yes and it did great in miami you have um clinton lindsay yes right is one of the original um really personality with his programs and all that right with number one on his thing yeah yeah and i didn't have to pay to put it there like a lot of number ones that i don't know all about them no no no that's happening all over the place you know they said try me and i'd peer me out yeah you know i mean so in in in new york on south an album in the works i already are it does it's universal it's universal oh yeah yeah i recorded people just love it so the album is it's for 20 21 or 20 22. 21 21 21 yeah that's one bad one that we're tired of eating two years already no no no no there are a few other cars that's all involved yeah so you are working on an album looking at the journey for other siblings is there anything that you do differently if i get the chance or read with a musical journey anything when i look back at me then change that i'll fix that and not do that the one thing i would do you know because i realized that that's that was my my my miss take in the business right it's it's all that i have been but i should have been a producer more than that because i am there i even get that i think yeah you know and if i was a producer i would be treating the musicians and artists that i produced or they should be treated yeah so i missed out on that that's the only change i would make if i ever you know yes to do that yeah do you regret spending such a long time in canada no no no because i wasn't stationed there i was all over yes that was based but did you not lose like you know a touch off the artbeat or the music i came back to jamaica and just jumped back right back oh so on fraud yeah no workout yeah i came back to jamaica right i started on it in cali start time right and again yes and i mean that means controlling that all of these because we were given a lifetime achievement award for under 100 stage enough anakin's star time as well let me let me come and jump on stage problem in either ah worries in the dance yeah i'm on and i and i wasn't living here right you know i'm gonna come back and live there i see em thing man you know that all of the other artists but you know i perform after no out after he was starting the show right and i i overheard michael barney telling him i'm live looking like and and you know i heard him tell yeah but you have everybody what's in you that would be you you know i mean yeah yeah definitely yeah general started yeah and i moved to the crowd yeah at the beginning [Music] i mentioned well so the f2 ones are three are your yourself so a lot of songs here so i mean mention this louis culture who else you have collaborative work with was a collaborative musically vocally that must be a pleasure is that choice are it just never happened that just never happened right you don't mind collaborating yeah is there anybody who is still active where y'all don't mind going to the studio one day later on something with when i read him i i i'm thinking of doing a collaboration with sister martial sister do you uh i think so do it and everything do it right yeah that's on bad bad seriously yeah yeah it's gonna be good it's a good sign so sister marcia is one person anybody else i got that i can't think of right now i think barry's voice would complement yours wonderfully well does my suggestion and opinion i don't know i i don't know but you know something about that yeah yes i i think about mars they might say yeah you're doing that doing something that would be historical yeah it's true i the road yes yeah i've tried the road i see that great um person had a queen one exactly easily for girl or that exactly yeah so you you're still in the studio despite doing it faster you're still up the vibe of the energy of the drive still working still working yeah and when the thing open up you're still a watercolor on the road and yeah i'd like to go there even one more time even one more yeah because it's not easy on the road you know rough i believe that where's when you're going on tour i'm gonna go on tour plus a big money i know still tonight they might not be working tomorrow night but yeah i have to travel to 200 miles oh i forgot about the next venue that is tiring too true trust me my dreams you know i got your bed cause you're not putting your things on you have a setup sound check and but i don't know work look after that and it's not that easy yes who are you not eating properly now you know you're losing your rest proper rest time oh yeah your time period get messed up so touring it's not all fun and gear no i thought most people are like they come back to where they get slim [Music] dream that'd be [ __ ] fat but the body slim exactly you know yes definitely who is leroy sibley's artists you love the artist you don't say right now i'm a campaign one or one single artist yeah yeah man i really music which individual has music here that i have the lee right man every musical nice we like every music without yes everyone was saying nice music music whatever was i know exactly you know yeah man i'll i'll add some rabbits with them though yeah man you know tom i mean i think that the music is important man yes you know yeah yeah anybody know the music if i have any lyrical musical field dispute music issue yeah no no yeah not really maybe personally personally okay yeah yeah it has been music different aspect of the music is there anything while you are simply love enough that it's not music where you then do if you put food by your family table if it wasn't music no yes i mean i come to putin for the table we do almost anything that's legal you know yes my great grandfather named diego brown one time my my family treated them with the richest people in highway around us yeah i'm abroad my grandfather diego bro give me about a second his bicycle is stopped my fish [Music] [Laughter] [Laughter] so there's nothing that is too menial no yes i'd put me in such a position that i don't have to never have to do that and you're putting bruh how many children's recipes have seven you know yeah never mind so seven of them and everybody are big people now doing well yeah and yes another girl and six girls and there are six girls and then i'm at my field bro not one of them turn them down give thanks man you know give thanks yes ma'am it's a blessing that you know yeah i'm about to look [Laughter] in about november november yeah and a teacher and she get position step her up in that in in in position mr pockman really good man and by the the ring and source of this singer so i said this is a married man this is another marathon and i'm hydrated yeah that's a diary how about his neckboat over 40 years or something yeah oh yeah hello you camper selfie i wouldn't and still yeah totally fine i went there yeah i got moving so sorry please i know that you mentioned that you went to canada and they got married and divorced and yeah remind no no i wouldn't do that again yeah no i don't make sense yeah it doesn't matter it's not it's not necessary okay that i should say you know two people love each other everybody's not bothered siblings is happily involved oh yes ma'am i'm gonna take care of my mother take care yeah this is a blessing she's a blessing let me be that man she's a blessing yeah now tell a man you have someone can get the ball i'll fill up thirsty ten o'clock pass way younger than if we're going to eat businesses i'm going to keep it too long you see what things talk about i mean for the moment then i keep in mind [Laughter] murder [Laughter] for three months i forgot 10 minutes time to pass let me hear them [Laughter] that wasn't touching [Laughter] name is responsible for the emergence or the entry in the music of any i just bought the place apart from javi not really not really not really yeah but a man we have there but the new italian flames a lot of people you know directly and indirectly you will never come to me and ask me nothing about music am not telling you about anything at all yeah anything really but musically right and come to me i mean are you showing them no open and accepting yeah man and as i dennis and and i was such close friends yes then it's brown i feel good i'm glad to play it i'm glad to set it up glad to be a part of working on that song you know what i mean the true love you know yes yeah i'm a cleaner true lover seriously please other people don't understand me yeah because sometimes and everybody may let close inside my spirit you know yeah that brother know that man you know that man who comes smiling fears and and and oh a reported [Music] is that it is hard for me yeah you know we're still young we still learn anything if you know everything is there anything where we're not about it or you think word it to the interview or anything for adding nominal [Laughter] that has contributed so much to them meaningfully to the music i know people contribute i mean a man that has helped to shape the music through the transition from rocksteady into reggae reagain everything will come since then yes sir we appreciate it and what we appreciate most is that we still say that you would fullness and your the love for the music and now go to the father yeah this is agile for me and i appreciate the fourth right now it's my pleasure to appreciate it with um and the air
