hello everyone it's Larry this is a video of my trip to York for The yorkshare Brick Show 2024 in order to get there for the first time in my life I boarded an Ln auma train the modern replacement for the inter city 125s now is your cue to type of comment saying build a Lego mini auma and Inter City 125 now go on do it right now and while you're at it smash the subscriber eventually I arrived in York it was lovely being there and looking around as I'd never been there before while I was there I just had to check out the National Railway Museum too I witnessed some familiar favorites in person for the first time as well as some more unexpected sites like a 1960s Japanese shinen but of course my primary objective was the Yorkshire Brick Show which I visited with my friends it was hosted in the York racecourse and showed off a huge variety of talentful Lego builds big and small and there were many gorgeous scene [Music] builds there are also amazing art pieces [Music] it didn't take long for us to find some Lego trains and a London Underground tube train no less along with some [Music] others I then got to see Johnny one Lego's Amazing ly small scale diarama of [Music] Manchester I love these small scale cards and trade so muchen neither the micro scale i' sort a bit in between yeah yeah yeah as you could hear I really love this the scale is great and really inspiring too we then walked over to some more trains but first noticed some Tugs we finally got top head oh my gosh there to oh I say hello then we soaked in the Lego Northern UK Railway clubs layout of which there were multiple [Music] you got to have the station giraffe oh my goodness just destroyed a pait of the tree I definitely apologize for [Music] it I absolutely love the station sign with the [Music] flowers it's an absolute bangers of trains right here well I feel like I've got to uh take one of these now there we go I have a true other train enjy now even though I'm from the south I then moved on to the larger layout of the lnur [Music] look at this Coast as well with all these teal pieces so well done like this Lego say Cates the world you you get a bit of everything bit of every you do you do get a bit of everything every the Easter Bunny the Easter bun the guy in a rabbit cume I love this Thro Bridge like it you know it would have been fine if it wasn't there but like it's it's just adds so much there you know what it needs a bit of work yeah clearly they're not done with [Music] it oh I thought I was supposed to pack but it's just a Royal Mail B but it's Reliant amazing I love that reli [Music] the purple trees down there purple trees you believe it I don't know I think that's a bit too unrealistic my Mer's Ro this corner it feels like an underrated Corner these these techniques to make this road so straight but on a diagonal oh it's really well it's the fact that it didn't be in first place I also loved the use of wheel Arch pieces above the windows how clever I also enjoy how there a post Bo over here I didn't even see that so we know where the little Reliance going you yeah that's true there's continuity that Reliant is coming here it's telling the [Music] story after looking at their gorgeous layout some more I was was allowed into the inside of it as a club member where I could get out my own models I put out some of my smallscale Thomas characters on display for a bit I plan to run my big Cherry steamer my only large scale model which you might remember had some running problems these persisted at the spa Valley show last year and it took a few attempts to get it running this time however I learned from that experience and came prepared before you ask no I did not rebuild the wheels to be bogeys that would require me completely redesigning the whole bottom half and for now at least I quite like the look it already has it runs fine when some wheels are removed and it's honestly easy to not notice that they're not there no the biggest problem was this stupid coupling mechanism I designed I didn't film it but it just kept coming off and it was super annoying to fit back on again so I rebuilt it with normal Lego magnetic couplings which I avoided because there'd be a massive gap between the tender and the engine but I figured out how to make it without a massive Gap and I just kind of questioned why I didn't do this to begin with now much more prepared my cherry steamer ran on the layout [Music] [Music] it was around this time that they started running their inter city 125 model specifically based on Sir Kenneth gra the one on display at the National Railway Museum the model was very high quality complete with interior and exterior lighting [Music] my friend Luke who has his own channel and a fancy camera got some very high quality shots [Music] I'm not interested in F STS I'm not interested in the iron Brew engines now why are there four nearly identical class08 iron Brew engines well I spoke to the creator of them who said he built them for a tug-of war contest where he ran all of them at once well that and he loves iron [Music] brew having spent enough time with the railway Club layout we went around the convention some more exploring other areas which Luke got some more great shots [Music] of want you to get a Lego Larry model this scale oh gosh be SC [Music] the portal love the storytelling with like the toxic waste there were more builds of all shapes and sizes and [Music] styles including doc Brown's train from Back to the Future and a Monster Truck Derby with a modified monster Percy [Music] very impressively there was an entire layout of just 1980s Lego trains included [Music] other highlights included a giant Lego Pirate Island and the most adorable LEGO City layout I've ever seen with the most gorgeous Park filled with colorful plants and flowers seriously these look so good if I build a layout I want to fill it with plants and flowers like this there was a solar field lined with more cool plants and an absolutely massive 9V City and train layout [Music] lastly this genuinely enormous Hogwarts Castle build to say it's impressive is an understatement we got only a fraction of the detail on camera this one is absolutely enormous they've had a k cross um like diarama built within oh wow so they do King's cross the Coke Pepsi vending machines you got uh King's cross and then Hogs me over there so it's like yeah so both sides there a really short trip to HS you can just walk through it you don't need a train or anything like [Music] well I hope you had as much fun watching as I had on my trip to York please like and comment if you did and subscribe for more thanks for watching tata for now [Music] he
