Legion 5 Pro & Legion 7 | Can they play 1080p? what does 1200p look like? ( Questions answered )

hey guys what is up so this is just going to be a me talking about the screen on the lenovo legion 5 pro and the legion 7 because i've been getting a lot of questions about the aspect ratio and if you can play on 1080p now let me just show you and you know visualize it for you what that looks like and how it works so i've been getting the question material can you play 1080p on a legion laptop with a 16x10 aspect ratio and the answer to that is yes let me show you how how you do that and what that looks like so this is your main screen and you don't see any black bars here at the top or the bottom if you right click go to display settings you can at display resolution you can change the resolution to any of these so 1440p 1200p 1800p it's all possible but 1080p has been the main question so let me show you what that looks like so if we do that you can clearly see there's black bars at the top and the bottom in games so this game is still set to 1600p so we don't see any black bars so the way you do this is you have to change the windowed mode to window window borderless if you don't do this it's going to look like this if you should switch this to 1080p so it's like very cramped it becomes very narrow it doesn't look like natural so if you want to play 1080p on a legion laptop you have to set the windows resolution to 1080p switch the window to window mode borderless and change it to 1080p and now as you can see we have the black bars again at the top and bottom personally i don't see the point in doing this apart from if you want to get those extra few frames what i personally would recommend to do is just switch it to the native resolution keep the changes now you can see it looks a little bit weird again and just play 1200b now 1200p is a and yeah so just switch it to full screen 1200b it's basically the same fps as 1080p but you don't get the black bars now to answer the most frequently second asked question is what does 1080p look like compared to 1200p now let's take this flagpole as this usually gives you a good impression what it looks like so we are currently playing on 1200p let me just switch it to 1080p and show you what the you know what the scene looks like so this is 1080p we have the black bars at the top and bottom but you can't see it because i zoomed in but to give my impression which it's because it's super hard to visualize with you know low screen youtube videos 1200 b definitely looks better than 1080p but since these screens are so small it's you know it's it's really i'm really nitpicking here so those were the most frequently asked questions i hope this was useful personally let's zoom out personally you can choose to play on 1080p with black bars it's an option but you will have to play um windowed borderless or windowed whatever else you're going to get this like squashed screen which doesn't look right and it also if you're playing a shooter doesn't feel right because the dimensions are are um yeah they don't correspond or however to call it it just doesn't feel right if you move left and right slower than up or down that makes sense so if you have a legion laptop personally i would just say go and play on 1200p set your desktop resolution to just the max one and i wouldn't worry too much about not being able to play 1080p unless you want to make videos there's always the option to do this 1080p but the most for me obvious resolution to play on would be 1200p very similar performance to 1080p or just play 1600p and the same counts for 1440p between 1440p and 1600b there's also very minor difference 1600p looks better than 1440p but like i said on such a small screen it's hard to tell so that was it i hope this was useful hit the like and subscribe button if this was any helpful and i'll catch you next time peace
