Legendary SPIRAL BUFFET MANILA! Still Best All You Can Eat in WORLD in 2020?

hello guys welcome back to another daily gym why did you mess it up we always say at the same time daily juice sorry you join us we're we're somewhere very very special today we've been invited for a brunch i'm trying to get my heels in there you go we'll do a full outfit in a minute actually we've been invited today very very kindly by the spiral buffet at the sofitel hotel they emailed us said hey we're opening up the buffet again you guys came last year yeah do you feel like coming down checking it out checking out the new normal yeah i was gonna say i feel like buffets are the main thing that i was kind of nervous about coming back open i thought they'd be the thing that opens last so i'm actually kind of surprised that they're open already and i'm excited to see how they've done it safely and how how buffet's gonna feel we're not too sure differently i don't know we're not too sure what to expect really but we do know one thing we're very very hungry yeah it's like brunch time they said but it's like midday our reservation we've been waiting for this because if you've seen our vlog before we'll pop it here we came to the spiral buffet we ate a lot like a lot so if it's anything like that we're in for a bit of a feast today so welcome to the vlog we're gonna head in now and let's check it out are you ready i'm ready let's go lucy's outfit of the day a green suit jacket yes blazer uh white flowery dress yes and some blue shoes and a green bag and a green bag which goes with the green teach jackets it's just two jackets a blazer i've gone classic black t-shirt denim jacket a little bit warm but it's okay and my black black checkered pants here i'm excited for this so it has been a while since we were here we've actually stayed at the sofitel before and i remember this huge grand entrance that they have we're actually here the night before our meet up in january 2019 the night before long ago we went from the sofa tower to ayala triangle gardens and met a load of you guys and it was like the best day ever wow good memory comment below if you remember that if you've been watching the channel that long i cannot believe that was over a year ago [Music] so there seems to be a lot of people waiting around and they seem to only let a few people in the buffet for distance in reasons so people are just kind of having to wait so we're just waiting to be taken down [Music] now [Music] [Music] is [Music] [Music] so all right guys we have arrived we have been shown around we've been showing all the new safety procedures here and things like that so even though it still is kind of a buffet you don't serve yourself if it's a little bit noisy it's because we have live music behind us but we have been round i think this is a better way to do buffets for people like me who like to eat a lot because you're only allowed to have one meal on two on two plates you're only allowed to walk around with two plates you have to go back to your table and eat it which i think is a good rule because otherwise people like me go crazy get greedy and end up trying to eat too much in a short space of time okay so the first thing we went for being brits we haven't had a car free or any kind of roast dinner for a long time and this is as close as we've had here in manila so we've got some potatoes some lamb chops some gammon and some beef we've also we've got some sushi here which they've made all fresh and we couldn't resist this was the truffle mushroom uh cheesy pasta that we saw being mixed up earlier which smells incredible it's actually inside a wheel of cheese and the cheese melts and gets mixed in how amazing the flavour in this pasta is unbelievably good so so tasty i think i could eat like a huge bowl of this i'm now going to get some of this pineapple thank you and the gammon as well the best combination the staff are super attentive here we've got some nice sparkling water with some lemon they've got our chopsticks over so very happy to be here sushi's great sushi's something george and i have only just got into i think our last trip to japan to osaka kind of brought us into it and now we eat it on a regular basis i'd say maybe like every week we'll have some and it's great that it's now like a whole new world that we've opened into because i feel like sushi is it's like there's so many amazing varieties and we're slowly learning it's like we've been born again into the world of sushi because there's so much to learn but i feel like it's so nice just having it on in front of you and you can just pick and they make it all fresh for you so we are going in for the second course lucy's got her eye on a thai curry some green curry [Music] [Music] thank you so much okay round two we have some chicken wings some chicken satay and some egg fried rice uncle roger delicious chicken satay is one of my favorite foods the peanut sauce that's the thing here i find sometimes with i don't know if you go to like a hotel buffet well technically this is a hotel buffet but if you go to some buffets it's like there's a lot of food they do everything and it's quantity over quality but here everything's high quality you can tell just walking around it's a really nice place to be here i would say coming here for like a lunch or a dinner is probably one of the most fanciest things you could do in manila and it is special it feels special it's passing lucy that to try yeah we've been on a few cruise ships in the past and it kind of reminds me of that a little bit the level of service you get the quality but i would say the food is better actually here we just met the new executive chef and they're all the staff are just super happy to be back open and to be back serving the public and there's quite a lot of people here the tables are all distanced and spread out but it's like sunday coming into sunday afternoon this is the perfect thing if you haven't been here if you live in the area and maybe you've got a birthday and anniversary something special coming up this would be the perfect thing to do for a special occasion like that so i was just intrigued by this one this like green dumpling i didn't even ask what it was i just wanted to try it so let's give it a go [Music] got such a weird texture it's like jelly there's a little bit of spice i did in chile that's why it's spicy i think it's just vegetables but it's so cool it's like clear and bright green it's like my favorite color someone just got engaged i'm literally crying why am i crying you suddenly heard all this applause and he was down on one knee oh proposals make me emotional man and now i'll cry into my meal imagine having a spiral buffet and getting proposed to on the same day [Music] how nice so nice they've got a song dedicated to them now shall we go to the cheese room okay we said we were just gonna get the cheese board next and then go on to desserts but we walked past the indian section and we've got some incredible looking stuff we've got like a butter chicken and rice and this chicken chat salad which looks really cool they made it all for us especially for us and then we've got our cheese board as well the interesting thing is that i was holding this i was like what is this then i realized i don't know if you can see but it's it's a flattened wine bottle how amazing that's unique i've never seen that in my life look so cool how cool is that [Music] [Applause] guys we are so full we've had cheese and crackers we've had indian food we've got japanese we've had italian we've had english food we've added a lot of indonesian and meat rice we are so so thai thai curry we are so so full does that yeah so we said we would just get a couple of desserts george was like let's only order what we definitely like love the sound of because there's so much to choose from so we've got one two three four five six seven eight nine desserts disgusting they're small the one i want to show you guys the most is this this is a burger a burger cheesecake so it's a cheesecake but it's like jelly stuff designed to look like a burger we've got this chocolate dome topped with gold uh creme brulee some like caramel desserts we've got a bit of ice cream we've got some gummy bears which i think we're designed for the kids to have but i love sweets and we're going to enjoy this with our coffee that george has ordered and the rest of the cheese and crackers that we didn't eat earlier we need to get some more crackers i feel like we don't actually eat this much but suddenly when we're here our stomachs expand and take all the food sure this is like this is today's food yeah only because we're spending the whole day at the buffet oh we just got home guys and it has caught up with me i've gone very very tired and we i think are just gonna sit here for the rest of the afternoon and try and let some of that delicious incredible food digest but thanks to the sofitel thanks for the soft tail for inviting us along to the spiral buffet really cool those guys are open again and we hope to be back soon but maybe not too soon because i feel like that's a very special occasion and you
