LeBron & AD Too Big For Curry | Game 1 Lakers v Warriors 2023 NBA Playoffs

playoffs and with the way the Lakers treated the Warriors in the paint we are reminded of the sheer size difference between these two teams until last night only once over the past five seasons had a warriors were also not used to getting their shots blocked in transition and Wiggins is going to need better recognition not to challenge the big guy like this he could have given it right back to Curry for the open three and Curry does the same thing with LeBron instead of pitching it to pool or finding Wiggins open in the corner he takes on the king who erases the shot there was a bright spot for the Warriors however when not getting their shots packed they were executing the offense well the handoff to Curry is a false flag as the real action is to pin down for clay going to the other side with Davis so concerned with Clay's shooting he steps up to offer help and that allows Looney to slip to the hoop for the reverse notice how the top locking of Curry leaves Schroeder on the high side so when he assumes pool is just going to shoot it and relaxes Curry is wide open before Davis can even react this screen re-screen action for clay in the mid-range lures Davis out to the Elbow every minute of the second half and while it led to their biggest lead in the game on another inside ball screen into a pin down for LeBron who gets Happy Feet but the refs miss it I suspect all the pushing grabbing holding hugging and every other word you can use for physicality both legal and most definitely not legal wore them out in the final five minutes they combine to go over six with no assists including this hop travel in transition where you're not allowed to gather with the right foot down then hop on that same foot again as the Warriors hit them with a 14-0 run to tie the game by setting this screen they can get the much better Defender off of Curry whom he promptly gallops right by into the lane and Curry does what he's been doing his whole entire career driving dishing then replacing to the three-point line for a shot it truly felt like this was the Boost the Warriors needed to take this game but we've already shown you how dangerous it is to shoot the ball anywhere near Anthony Davis Curry could have dropped the pass to clay or kicked it to the corner but he fails to recognize what's right in front of him and Davis blocks it while it's still in his hand watch how the Lakers adjust their matchups going back to their opening alignment with Vanderbilt on Curry instead of bringing Reeves man or even LeBron's man up to screen and let Curry work on the perimeter pool brings Schroeder over and it blows up everything they want to do as the clock ticks down they're lucky this bad pass wasn't the turnover and while it leads to pool getting an advantage on LeBron there's Mr Davis once again battling the hold of Draymond to get free and SWAT this one away as well one last chance and this is where it got a little insane loved the early double to get it out of Curry's hands but watch what's happening over here LeBron had completely lost clay along the Baseline who could have cut toward the ball for an open shot but then LeBron switches with Schroeder however when you double team on the right side it's one of these two guys job to rotate up to the wing neither of them gets close and the only question I have is why wasn't pooled two steps closer to the basket he lets it Fly and it's way off to the left and check this the rebound goes to Schroeder and he has clear possession however within a second he's double teamed and now Wiggins has firm control of the ball as well for almost two seconds they're in this position until LeBron and the assistant coach first signal for a timeout remember a team cannot be granted a timeout unless they have clear possession of the ball which is most likely why the lead ref on the Baseline doesn't give them the time out you can see Schroeder doesn't call for a timeout until right after the assistant does and it's very strange that a jump ball wasn't called now for the contact by Klay Thompson the last two minute report says there should have been a file called but honestly I think they're using it as a cover to not have to deal with the missed jump ball I've never seen such insignificant contact called at the very end of the game and I know you know what I'm talking about I do see he makes some contact with Schroeder's bicep here but the refs didn't think it was the foul in real time and I agree but it doesn't matter because we have ourselves a great series the Lakers hung on to steal home court advantage and now the Warriors have to make the adjustments to avoid Davis in the lane and file a lot less and for the Lakers it's clear that they want to win with their size since they [Music]
