right and welcome back to another video so today's episode is quite a special one as you can see in the title we're going to be learning how to skydive so today's the first day of learning how to skydive and that consists of ground school after completing ground schools we're going to be doing something called an AFF which stands for accelerated freefall pours which consists of seven or eight categories where the student needs to complete certain requirements within each category now before you start ground school you are actually required to do an online test where you'll need to achieve a 75% score grade in order to be invited to ground school at skydive Dubai ground school is a full day of theory and practical where you learn about every aspect about skydiving in the first case we learn about the parachute and how it's deployed so this is going to pull it out [Music] and allows the key to open up fully all the way down this is the one thing you always hear you pilot you pilot chute that means you're dragging the virus the next step you simulate what it's like to freefall from the plane because of the wind level noise you cannot actually speak to your instructor so the only way that you can't communicate is from signal you're gonna check in reading of your thumbs up okay we're gonna go up down and then up come on up are charged for not not with the stomach with the chest I mean with their hips sorry no with the chest one one thousand two one thousand three one thousand four one thousand our falling straight down okay yeah check your altimeter you can check the altimeter again and then we're gonna do our practice notches right wait make sure that arms we need to counterbalance that right hips forward hip horizont ass there we go so do it nice and slow and grabbing on in the tunnel I'm gonna have you guys grab on and I want you guys to really fly this position because this is usually stable when we hope you like it is an example for cut a or your first job you'll need to do the following exercises exit circle of awareness three practice poles circle of aware followed by an additional short circle of awareness your pull sequence and a canopy check the next step was learning about how to learn and where to learn now the same like you have rules on the road for driving you actually have rules in the sky for flying as a right-of-way that you need to follow in order to avoid any type of collision in the sky alright so we're just taking a little break now from the morning session it's been really interesting and very informative so far we've been learning everything about the equipment the parachute how it opens how to embark or leave the plane there's a proper procedure that you're meant to follow to the free-falling position which is actually not the most difficult bit the most difficult bit is the landing and this is generally where most accidents happen the students flare either too early or too late however you'll be connected with the headset where your instructor will guide you in as you're coming into landing this is the only point in time where you will be able to hear your instructor and he'll give you verbal communication of when to flow wait-wait-wait half full full full stand-up one of the most important aspects of learning to skydive is understanding the emergency procedures and this is something they will drill into your head until you get it right once you deploy your parachute you will need to do a canopy check if certain situations were to happen where your parachute or canopy hasn't been deployed correctly depending on your altitude you may need to deploy an emergency procedure which involves releasing your main parachute and deploying your reserve now a scariest that might sound the reserve is essentially a second parachute to help you land safely we have now another couple more hours of theory and then we're gonna head to the wind tunnel which is this building over here and in the wind tunnel we're basically going to be practicing our formation and kind of get like a representation of what it's going to be like for the free-falling and from there in the next episode or this episode we'll be jumping from the sky solo yes I'm doing my AFF today it's something that I've been wanting to do since I did the tandem jump it's my challenge before I turn 35 so we're gonna do the wind tunnel now so it should be amazing are you finding the course so far great great I mean we did all the safety checks and everything so so far so good do you worry well be worried when I jump out of the plane right the last bin of the day involved ah splitting the wind tunnel which is not mandatory however highly recommended as this is the closest thing you're going to experience what it is like to free fall from the sky whoever in a simulated wind tunnel you learn the importance of body position and hand signal and how certain things you do in the wind tunnel can actually affect what you do in the sky some people will pick this up much faster than others but in general it's due to body positioning and understanding what it is that you're doing wrong and rectifying those mistakes first practice right done how is that yeah it goes amazing I got better and better at it as I went along you see it's a mice ability and then to turn so hopefully I'll be better I'm in the air for the real flights are you feeling more confident now after the Windtunnel time yeah for sure official fishing it made a big difference right yeah I think it's a hundred percent necessary I wouldn't imagine myself jumping out of the plane without without so today we finished the ground school and when I started actually today it was a little bit difficult because I didn't know anything about skydiving we we started a step by step and then we went to the to the wind tunnel and then I felt actually really more confident all right so it's the following day from the last clip oh my gosh my heart is going if anything today's the day that we're actually gonna jump out of a plane so since the last clip we did Tunnel time we had to go back to the classroom where we actually did a test once we completed the test we actually completed ground school which allows us now to jump out of a plane with instructor well actually two instructors I must say I am a little bit nervous I'm feeling confident though the instructor just now he was testing me on all the emergency procedures what would happen if this happen what would happen when that happen and I was already on you got to know your stuff anyways not to bore you let's get straight into it the next clip is going to be me skydiving [Music] [Laughter] [Music] hands up booyah fully up keepin it together treat the knees together wait wait wait slowly stand up I've just done my first jump the I know my hair's all over the place but I don't what a feeling it was I cannot explain Express like the amount of feelings you go through it's like you're on the plane you're really worried you're like oh my gosh oh my gosh but at the same time like you're very calm you're trying to be calm your breathing like that's the most important exercise just to breathe as soon as you launch from the plane the feeling of accelerating to the ground it's nothing like the wind tunnel like the wind tunnel is much more laid-back it actually just the wind tunnel just you know it's consistent air right but free-falling from a plane you're just constantly accelerating and yeah what a feeling it was and everything happened so quickly like you know and that's rude by the time I knew that instructor was like telling me check it altimeter check your altimeter and the next thing I know I was like already six thousand six thousand feet is when you need to lock on five five wave off and pull that's what I did parachute open so the thing was when the power should open like I had one of what we call an instant's factor and it started like weaving to the side so you have to do a canopy check and to do that you have to just basically take the toggles and just give it to full flares that's what I did everything was all good after that and the landing was all so I'm pretty happy with my first landing so yeah and to be honest I thought that was like I'm satisfied I'm happy I don't want John I don't think I need to do another John but I'm about to do my second one how do you feel today again since they want to be a John are you ready super excited we'll see how the first jump goes you never know until the first jump so yeah feeling really excited feeling confident yeah not too much close no no it's wide angle I just finished my AFF and was really so nice of course the first jump for me was horrible but right now this jump the last one the solo was amazing so welcome to skydive how is your experience of okay really really the first one was horrible horrible horrible but the last one the solo was amazing you have all the freedom to do it whatever you want but at least you don't do it anything because you are scared about what can happen okay if it was horrible why did you do it oh my god because it's something it's something like I've been dreaming like for a lot a lot big time but do you mind if I put subtitles in the videos yes Spanish for power no English no no in espaƱol para que la gente en espanol en tiendas Lopez and easy siento says we have been ears at Skydive welcome to skydive this is Dubai welcome to Dubai so did you enjoy the course of all oh my god more questions yes I enjoy 100% right now it's amazing right now is something like there is not words to describe the freedom you have when you jump out of the plane so it's something like it's only one time in your life I have a very good friend and he told me when you do a skydive your your life is changing and my life change already can you say it again without your hand on your face oh my god [Laughter] [Music] you
