hey guys welcome back to another tutorial so today I have got to make you guys an expert on the image manipulation software now we all know that is absolutely fantastic we know it's free and we know it is an excellent alternative to photoshop and you can download it direct from the website so just click on the download once you've downloaded the operating system and you've installed it then open it up now when you open it up you will see that it will look something like this now this is basically the canvas section and then over here we have the toolbox section and over here we have the laser box so let me just drag this image over here so there we go now as we can see here that we can move the layers palette and it's your box of vines itself know some of you Snoopy's may not like this so what you want to do is go up here to windows click on single window mode okay and as you can see now everything is permanently locked you see that so we can make it bigger but everything is permanently lock lot I can't move move anything about so again if you're an advanced user you would want to be using this mode where you can you know customize things yourself but if you're a new base simply go up to windows click on single window mode and you will find that things will become a lot easier for you to understand particularly with regards to this tutorial now let's have a quick look then now up here we can see we have the file menu the edit menu the Select menu fury etc now I'm going to tell you a little secret guys if you want to quickly access any of these menus simply right-click on your image and look at that you see that we have correctly accessed all of these menus simply by right-clicking on the photograph itself or if you prefer simply go up here and you know work your way along my right guys you need to understand this before we move on basically when you're working on an image so let's say let me just give you an example here okay so let me just put some text up here saying work in oops working on an image okay so we're working on an image you see that cap plan can it we are working on an image so we're working on an image if we want to upload this exact image what we see onto the internet then what we have to do is we've got to export as so file export as you see that export as okay ah we could go up here file export as you see that ah we could do what it says but with the shortcut file see we say shift ctrl e shift ctrl e so what we could do is we could go shift ctrl e and we export it so now we're exporting the photograph so what we want to do I want to export it as a JPEG so here I would type in j.p Chi so I'm telling it I'm exporting it as a JPEG so when I click export yeah and click again and confirm that we can see now that one of these is going to be the JPEG and this is it this is not the che peg the one we were working on was a PNG but no it is a JPEG because we've exported it as a JPEG because we've exported it it is identical to the one we're working on look at that see the text up here working on an image you see that guys so that is how you basically export something for upload onto the Internet now if you if we wanted to see if this say let's say we're doing over here less points more text right let's say do you know some more work okay doing some more work here man at work okay so if we just make that bigger again just for the sake of the video let me highlight this let me just maximize it see if mess and the bike there okay so we're gonna do this so if we want to see if this noise and work on this at a later date it's Monday night so let's say we wanted to work on this on it on a Friday come back to you on Friday what we have to do we have to see if ours so there's the difference between see if as you see save us yeah that's the difference between save as and export see if ours is for when you are wanting to come back to the project to work on it later and it is for upload and sheathe internet so again same rules apply file save as or we can do shift ctrl and s so we'll try that shift ctrl and s there we go it's not asking if you see of us and then we could simply do the right click file save as you see that guys and knowing is asking this once you see of us I'm going to say work on Friday and notice it's nice saving it as an XC 3 so I X C F so that means I'll pull my desktop so that means we can now go back to you so I'm gonna actually show you I'm going to also that okay so we've just lost all that work but we've not because we saved it we see if does work on Friday double-click it and hey presto guys what do we see we see our work look if I want to take away this doing some more work for the back I can if I want you to take away this part I can so now you know the difference between file save as and file export us and that is something that was very important for you to learn so right guys in the next part of the video we are going to be talking about the toolboxes so speak then right guys as promised then let's have a look at this toolbox and what the toolbox does so let me just go back into easy mode so as we can see here guys we can see on the left hand side our toolbox is here looks very skinny though so what I suggest is move your monks over to this line here and then when you see this icon left click and drag and you'll see your toolbox becomes much wider okay I remember these tools you see here can be accessed by going to the tools menu here or by going to the tools menu by right-clicking and going to tools and get in your tools okay but you can quickly access your tools here fire the toolbox so let's have a look at what some of them do okay these ones appear to be selection tools for example this is a rectangle selection tool so if we draw a rectangle let's go it selects that part of the image we can delete it okay you see the way we deleted that or we can copy that okay and then we can paste that now let me show you this so as you can see we've pierced it just at that part of their image you see here we go we've pasted it so let me delete that lab so you don't need it so that's the selection tool it allows you to selection moving on we can have any clip e ellipse tool so we can delete that and have the ellipse effect or we can undo that we can just cut that edit pierced have it is a new float in area and as you can see there's the ellipse tool so there selection tools know let me quick they show you this hill because this hill here is the fuzzy select tool what the fuzzy select tool does is that it tries to select colors that max to see them for example if we click on yellow see the way it's trying to select all the yellow but it doesn't select all of the yellow no if we select on the blue we get the blue but it doesn't get all of the blue but here's the secret guys you want to press shift and click on the other colors that you would like the software to select and as you can see see in between here and in between here and in between there and now we've told to combine by holding down shift and clicking we have helped the computer work out which color of blue it is that we wanted to select so you see that and that's all been done by basically the shift remember you did itself it's struggling hold only shift highlight all their areas of blue and it will select them areas of blue for example let's say we wanted this blue click see the way it's now a highlight and that blue we want this blue and it's also highlighting so if you hold down the shift key with the fuzzy select tool it'll help you with regards to selection so that's enough of this election tools well actually let's just focus on one more selection tool which is the path tool like the path tool basically a lot so you know select parts of your image and well I'll tell you I'll do you guys I will make a different video about the path tool later on in this video and I'll put it in so but as you can see no it's just basically it's no the selections you that allows you to select your work ok so over here we have the color picker tool so what does that do well as if we click here on a color this is a color palette by the way you see the way God color palettes so we can choose pink and they say pink whatever okay so there's paint we've got a pinky and I at the four grind white at the back point it just means point this each use guys if you want the white to be the forward line oh let me live let me give you a good example okay pink is currently the fork right so if we get the pant pocket and click there see the way that's gone pink okay that's because pink is our foreground color what we want you do is press X and X will make the background color the foreground color so now pink is the background color and white is the foreground color so if we get the p-n pocket again and use that we can see that that is not white so this that's another little secret you have just let X allows you to shift between there for a grind and back lines color so yeah again though I'm pink we don't want pink though we want yellow so we want this yellow so what we could do we can use the eyedropper so if we go over to the tools palette get their color picker come over here click there we now see that we have got that color of yellow or orange it is that we want it from the helicopter so let's say use the PM pocket bump there we go we've got so you can now see guys how a tools palette is working for you now it's got all this stuff in there so you can scale yet image and stuff so just guys oh yeah you got your paintbrush so you can just draw stuff you know stuff like that so guys yet just experience you know with your tools palette and video will cover you know more aspects of this tools box but you know but we'll talk about that later videos so just yeah again guys just come yet on learning how to use all these tools right guys so now it's time to learn about what less are in again so the best way to think of less is to think of tracing paper okay so let's say we have got our drawing which is the helicopter here and let's say we put a layer of tracing paper over that helicopter then that's basically what we're doing in layer terms is we're making a transparent layer okay so let me just Vinnie in this transparent okay so there's the transparent layer so whatever we do on this layer we can draw so let's get the p-n wash let's draw on this transparent layer okay so we've drawn know if you have a look because this layer is transparent and if we hide it you will see that we have not done any damage to the original photo there is no drawing instead we drew on a new layer so we drew on a new piece of tracing paper so we've not damaged their original and that is basically how layers work so for example as you can see I have you know used an aircraft of a hawk this is a hawk training fighter Wichita refuse so I've called that layer two and as you can see I can hide it or do ever is because it's a totally separate layer from what the original one is now I also went up and added layer 3 so for switch layer 3 on you can see layer 3 is a logo no because layer 3 is again totally separate from the original then we can move this event wherever it is that we want to clear set and that's all because they're totally different pieces of trace and paper are totally different layers now if we wanted to make these guys you know one layer with the original so basically if we wanted to draw on the regional what we would have to do is flatten these layers so we would go to image flatten image and now you can see everything is one layer so everything is Nigel on one piece of paper whereas before everything was on different bits of paper so that's what layers are now you need to be careful with layers because they can trick your a for example if you come over here and click text and if you click here on text what you haven't noticed once you do you see over here it's giving you a new layer so it's giving you a new text layer so you have to be careful when working with text so let's put in I Oh one sec I love things that fly okay it's text let's make that bigger I love things that fly let me make this bigger again there we go yeah that looks about it let me move with a bite just be a little more there ago I love things that fly so as you can see look that is a brand new layer but because it's a brand new layer it will allow us to move it around their image without affecting anything else but the thing this the thing why they can let you is because let's say for example let's say you wanted to select okay you wanted to use this drop picker and select that color of blue right but if you on the wrong layer you will not get you select that color of blue because you're on a different layer so in order she select that color of blue okay you would need to be on that layer that you want which would be there and now you've selected the color of blue as you can see you see the blue here so we'll do that one once again if you appear let's say we know once you select that yellow because we're on this layer you see this one blinking because we're on this layer we're not going to be able to select that color of yellow from the helicopter because we've been tricked by the layers because we're on this so what we have to do is we need to select this you layer so we select this layer first then highlight over okay and now you can see over here that we've now selected that yellow should be the foreground color so layers can basically be text they can be any trees they can even be solid colors for example go to new layer come up here to want it to be the foreground color if we say a new layer foreground color it's going to be that orange or that yellow that we should select it you see that guys and as you can see that is a new layer now you can move layers up and down so if I move down just at the top you can see we can't see anything else because that is that the top layer so you see that boy if we hide that layer then it's there so guys that is basically the layering system within so I have a play around with it get used to it and we'll see you later on in the video so we really learned the basics of when you open and what to expect we've been there introduced to the layers box and it's your box so now I'm going to talk to you about the frequently used settings that I use from these menus up here so let's begin let's begin with the colors section what we can see here now the first setting we have is color balance and I do use this you know quite frequently basically it allows you to change the color balance of your image so if you see I've gone well chief out there so let me bring that back so yeah if you have looked at -13 and that is what it looks like a region light so yeah guys you see that it dis allows you to change your white balance as you can see it seems more cooler at the minute and they're going to go back to normal it seems a little bit more warmer so yeah there we go that's the first one in the color section the second one is the issue saturation now as you can see our dig is down here you know they're all yellow and stuff so what we're going to do is which is going to saturate this image a little bit further so as you can see you know things become a little bit darker in saturation now we are pushing the limits if we push the limits it looks like that if we bring it back then it will look something like that so well also we can do here is just issue so as you can see they're just in this shape so now things are starting to look reddish okay so yeah that's there let me show you stuff so the next one we have is the colorize I don't use that white this and contrast you all want to use so as you can see this one allows us to increase the brightness or increase the contrast so they'll start on the next one we which I use a lot is levels thresholds and never really use but levels I use all the time again this allows you to boost sections of your image like I'm boosting my highlights get less time I'm knocking down my mid-tones use this one and was just in my shadows and yeah the levels is one what I you will find yourself using all the time so let's cancel and go back to colors and the next one is curves curves is basically just exactly the same as levels as it allows you to boost your image you see that so if I go over here and I am taking down my shadows go over here and boosting up my mid-tones go over here and you know I'm bringing dyeing my mid-tones sorry this is my shadows this is my highlights and this is my mid towards so yeah that's the curves guys I don't particularly use that often but it's a substitute to the levels post rise I don't use desaturate you all use basically click on desaturate and it's lower as you can see the moving this over here it'll turn your image black and white now if you want to turn your Emmys black and white there is another way that you can actually do that so let me just quickly see if I can find it you see this is the thing gives you that many options that it is difficult she can't say okay guys so just go to colors desaturate any image is black and white if there is a quicker way to do it but I can't think because I forgot the filter menu the filter menu is a menu which I personally use all the time now I'm going to quickly show you some aspects of it so for example we've got blur so if we're going to blur we can see we have a lot different kinds of blur so let's just for example click and Gaussian blur so once we clicking Gaussian blur you'll need you see down here says preview make sure that ticked and now you will see a preview of what that blur will look like on your image and if you are happy with it just click OK and fan it will blur your image you see this so let me just add it on do it's a lot sharper edit read the Gaussian blur and as we can see it is more blurred so that is the blurred section you know the blurred section is good for you know blowing someone's skin if they've got too many spots you know that kind of stuff just smooths out the skin now sometimes you may want to do the opposite of blurring and you want to inch on shop air site you want to sharpen someone up so you'd go to filters enhance on sharp mask you see on shop mask click that this timeline we can see let's say let's go to the logo of the soil to actually that's easy to see okay so here we go so this is without sharpening and this is with sharpening if we actually increase it we can see that it becomes a lot more sharp and now we've gone to shops at this effect in the color of their image so if we bring it back bring this back I would say that is what we would get away with so let's do it click OK it's going to sharpen our image and as you can see it's really sharpened it it's really sharpened it to the point with the highlights have not been affected so if we go edit on day you can see that it's not a sharp knife go edit it's a lot sharper so edit on day and we'll take that away so that's how you sharpen an image another thing they skied with these filters is I don't particularly use that this dot it's the light and shadow night the light and shadow I love you really have to play around with these guys because these are awesome so let's go for let's go to your let's say a supernova no host is gonna work supernova radius okay look at that guys right so just let me go spokes random J let's see no no no no no can we ever single here okay just just leave those that click OK and look at that guy's doesn't that make the image a lot more interesting again this can be find hidden in the filters light and shadow and this one in particular is called the supernova okay so there we go so let's have a look at another thing I would use within the filters oh I know me use their artistic as well so for example we can try and turn this guy into a cartoon so if we click cartoon the only thing I don't like about is that mix this screen very smooth there was only a way we could increase the size of this screen but anyway it's free and knock on the mourn is free so less not more and about it so let's try and make this guy in to a character into cartoon well because he's got a military uniform on it's not really gonna have that much of difference because they camouflage to all looks to see him but yeah it's basically you know that's a that's a if you use a different image we're not gonna run around looking for but if you use a different image then that will make your image look like a cartoon excuse that this guy's got you know where and TP combat gear on and the filter doesn't seem to be working that well on it but as you can see it does work well with other ones typically like the light and shadow its rube works really well with that so yeah so what else is in the filter we could have a look at to be honest with you guys it's just think you need to get in here have you player vines don't be afraid to you know experiment and click here and there because you know what else is far but I think you have gone let's say artistic let's try mmm a canvas yeah I do like it a canvas tile type so if we move down here right so now we're going to make it look I was gonna click okay I've looked this no it looks like oh dude it's got a canvas layer to them you see that's how cool is that I do like the canvas effects I really do like the canvas effects so does the canvas on de vide the canvas so really do you like that guys so yeah guys there you go that was there a filter menu and their main features which I use all the time let's talk about the few menu my I don't really use the few menu a lot but there's two things that I do use in a few menu all the time and the first one is show guides so guys if you go to fury menu go down to show guides please make sure that that is ticked okay now if you go over here and left-click and drag you will see that we get these guides I also like to call these rulers so as you can see they just appear when you left-click and drag now if you want to get rid of a ruler or a guide just click on it and then drag it to the side where you got it from a knight you can see it will disappear to see them from the top left click drag down left click drag down and as you can see your guides are here now sometimes we may temporarily want to hide these guides when we're working so what you do is you go back to the few menu go down to show guides click on it and the guides will be hidden so again if we go back to shoe show guides click on it they reappear now so that's the guides the second thing I use for there decide a few menu in for is with regards to show grid so if you go see a few menu this time click show grid you will see that your image gets all these grids like these grids basically a lawyer precision costume you know control over your image and what it is you want to do with it but and see you do have to be up very close in order to see these grids when you have a high-resolution image like the one I have here but again to get rid of your grid go to fury condign show grid chitosan text and there we go guys you're back to normal so yeah that is basically what I used a few men you thought it's to show guides and to show grid right guys so here is a bit of art which I changed on the editing software like this Emmet is dedicated to the Royal Irish vitamins so this should give you an a working example of what one can achieve when working with the editing software so what I'm gonna do now guys because we've already learned the basics happened right we've learnt the basics of a you know the windows the menus that kind of stuff so now what I'm gonna do is basically I want youse guys to watch me work on this image and you hopefully should learn some of the common tasks that you need to learn when working with so let's begin like the first thing I want to do to this image is that I want to give it a freedom so what I'm gonna do is I'm going to go to image canvas size and as you can see when because she image canvas size it brings up this selection here no I say it's 1500 by 8 60 so that's basically referring to here right that's the size so I'm gonna do I'm gonna increase 32,000 and then I'm gonna increase this to 1500 I down here you can see it's a center if I click Center you can see that it's entity there image within the middle of the canvas so if I press the size and see much we can see that here's the canvas okay with the image in the middle so why need you do know is I might need to turn this back lines here black and how I'm gonna do that is I'm going to go here create a new layer create a transparency layer and then I'm gonna drag that behind this image so this layer is going behind this image and then I'm paint bucket and I'm gonna fill this layer black and as you can see it is now given us a black back lines are free and black ball wherever you on the court my thing is it is a bit thick so I'm not going to use the clock chill so if I select the clock chill come over here and let's say dry gets you something like that then you will see that it's a little bit you know this size a little bit thicker and this idea is thinner and this one as well thinner well once you've drawn this it's okay because allows you to adjust you know you border to where the preceding it is that you want so if I say something like that was your happy double click and as you can see it is no cropped that image why I'm not really happy with that so I'm gonna crop it again I want it to be a little bit more with regards to it so I want something like that yeah that looks better to make so yeah I'm happy with that night so the next thing I'm gonna do guys is I'm gonna add some text to this image but we have the text icon over here so if I double click on that and then drag down here to give myself plenty of workspace no in here I'm gonna type in the Royal Irish Regiment okay then I'm gonna highlight that text I'm going to change the color you do that by clicking here and select the color you want which is this one and then I'm going to increase it and I'm also going to bold the text so here we go guys let me do it yeah that looks pretty cool to me I actually like that like the next thing I want to talk to youse guys is then about hyewon seems in the night of an image now there's three ways you can seem on and the first way being with the Mike's so if you come over here select this magnifying glass once you've selected that then every time you left click you will see that you soom into the image now if you zoom out with a mouse press control left click and as you can see you know Seema night sawdust left click to zoom in control left click to zoom right night another way you can swim in the night is by pressing the control key and using the mouse wheel so as you can see I'm zooming in and now I am assuming night again that's control and the most real to zoom in and Sue might know my favorite way of swimmin in the night is to use the plus and the minus key on your keyboard as you can see if I press the num lock plus key I am zooming in if I press the num lock minus key I am see my night so there you go guys that is you know three different ways that you can seem on night the next thing I'm going to do is I'm just gonna move this image to show you so what I want to do is I want to layer this time so I want to make see this flashing on and off I want to make this part of this so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna highlight this layer flashing highlights that go to image so I go to you layer and then click merge down now there's no time you will see nice that both layers have became one so what I'm going to show you guys tonight is how to move vines meet how to move your image avoid the canvas so let me just click this and let me click this give some rulers okay so how do we move something so what you want to do is you want to click on this move tool you feed the move tool once you've clicked that okay now you are able to move so you can literally just click on it with your mouse and actually you see that guys while moving here is I'm moving this night-fishing layer and I don't want to do that so press ctrl and said if you have on and you make a mistake just press ctrl and said control and said always fix this the most Tech so I'm gonna do is I'm gonna hide this lasso doesn't get confused and now it will allow me to move this layer you see that guys so you can left-click and basically use the mice to move that image around now my favorite way of moving an image is then to use the arrow keys so if I press left on our key you will see that the image is moved and left if i press down i will keep the meat will stein if i press up arrow key then that image moves up and of course if I press right there image those move to the right now I like working with our keys to move in that image because it gives you you know more precision and more accuracy as opposed to the mice so if I switch my nice recent layer back on you will see that the image is back to normal so let me just have a quick look at my notes ok so the next thing we're going to talk about is opacity so what is opacity well if you have a look at this layer here there nitration layer then the opacity is basically that you know the transparency of that layer so as you can see I've got on-field transparency okay and now as a move of the skill it gets darker now another thing you need to know about layers is their overlay so if you have a look up here you can see it face would darken only that's currently why I've got it but if I put it on normal that's what it looks like so you see let me increase this so normal that is just a solid green layer I'm not exactly sure what this section is does probably mistake the Avni it but anyway this is a normal green solid layer and what I done was I clicked up here on mode and I basically changed it to what was it again dark and only as the powerchute that's what I was so yeah I changed it to darken only I'm fan from there I actually changed the opacity down to the level of night vision that it was that I wanted so that's basically how you change a passage opacity within now guys these other things you can do is actually let me quickly show you this so you can see these are all layers ok if we want if we're happy we said yes this image is finished what we're going to do is we're going to go to image flatten image and as you can see we now only have one layer okay we now have only one layer so what else we could possibly do is we could you know flip this image so if we went to tools and transform tools then we can basically flip our votes yet their image so I'll give you example if we wanted to vote yet they meet we could do it like that you see once and guys or we could do it like that so that's how you vote yet an image to flip an image you would go to image transform and flip so flip vertically go to image transform flip vertically again and it's back to normal so that's how you basically flip stuff now it's just you finish this video the way you can shrink the size of an image is then by pressing Shift + T once you do shift and say you see that you get these boxes like guys I'm gonna let you know a secret if you want everything to stay in proportion and stay in perspective press ctrl when you move the corner and as you can see no matter where you move your image will always always stay in perspective if you don't use the control then your image will become distorted such as like that so there you go guys there has been a working example of some of the common tasks you may use with regard to work and she camp now what I'm gonna do is I'm going to insert some altered videos which I made a few years ago and if you're still interested and learning about the panseo and stuff like that keep watching the video but guys thank you for watching this training video and I'll see you all soon hey guys welcome back to UK Highlands photography so in this video I'm gonna show you how we can increase the brush size within the software so here's the goal I want to remove this text here in order to use this image of a speed light for marketing purposes so why need to do is to remove the text so if I come over here and I select on the PM's brush tool you will see they're gonna go to paint over the text nothing is really happening like this is because my paint brush size is far too small so I need to increase the size of my pians blush now when we come down here we can see sighs we have got four ways we can increase the size of our peon plush within the now as you can see I'm hovering over the size bar and where you see that I will pointing up we can simply left-click and that will select the size of the peon plush it is that we want again this is all being done by hovering over the size bar and then left clicking in order to get a bigger or smaller size so that's the first way we can do it the second way we can do it is we can actually click into this area itself and we can actually manually type in the size of our pant wash so I'm gonna say 20 pixels and as you can see there we have 20 pixels ever come back click again and type in a hundred pixels then you'll see that we've now got a bigger piant brush so that's the second way the third way is we can use these are walls here personally I think using owls is a much slower process but again it is the third way of how you can increase the size of your paint brush so let me show you there we go now the fourth and final way we can increase the size for a peon plush is by used in their wheel dial on our marks so if I highlight over here again until I get that owl and then if I move my mouse wheel up you will see that the brush gets bigger if I move my mouse will dine then the size of the broach becomes smaller so there you go guys now you know how to increase and decrease the size of the pn wash within the platform remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at www.ge.com the hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be having a look at the paths chill and have a look at the work an example of how those work within the environment the path still located here in your toolbox basically works like this when you select it from the toolbox and when you left-click your mouse button on the photograph you will see that all players a little dot on the photograph right wherever you move know within the photograph and when you left-click again you will see that a line the follow show so I'll do that again or left click up here and as you can see the line has followed me if I left click here the line continues to follow me one of the cool features about the path tool is its ability to allow you to quickly speed up your workflow for example let's say I want to quickly go over in this gentleman's head I know it is a curve so what allows us to do is if I just move here as you can see I've clicked so the lines now followed me instead of clicking all the way around this gentleman's head instead what I could do is left click over here and with the button still held down if I simply slide the mice you'll now see that I am making the curve and if I move the mouse of inés you will see that the curve will change so as you can see that it's not your line does she quickly go over in this gentleman's head so what I'm going to do I'm gonna undo all this and I'm gonna show your work an example of the pencil in action so what I'm going to do is I'm going to select this gentleman's head and then I'm going to be saturated so let's begin again I can see that this is pretty much too curved so I'm not going to waste any time and I'm simply gonna let's say place to curve something like that remember I'm only doing this roughly for the sake of the video speed things up and now I've kimchee this section is a straight line some simple a she's gonna click left click to a lawyer to follow my and left click left click left click and as you can see you should have the shift now you YouTube that basically with the pass here wherever it is you click it simply just follows you the advanced part is the actual curve I've got you this point now and again I want to put the curve correctly around this gentleman's head so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna just simply move over to the left here I'm gonna left click the mouse button but I'm gonna keep its held dying and then I'm gonna drag the mouse and I'm gonna move the mouse around until that curve looks brilliant with the guy's head so now I've done that what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna just this line by bringing their back in you do that by left-clicking again and moving with a slider of their mouse and then you continue with your click stone again we've got a little curve here so I'm going to skip that corner by coming directly down here left clicking and then moving the mouse until I get the curve off their ear like so let's go of the left click left click again and move this point to here now as you can see we are nearly finished selecting this guy so know that if Kim's at this point what we're gonna do is I'm simply going to right click I'm gonna go to select from path because there's a path that we drew that's my selected this path and now what we're gonna do is we're going to go to college and be statuette and as you can see we have noches de saturated the guy's head and you have no I had a working example of how the pasture those work within the environment remember to subscribe to our Channel and when you get do is we're going to go to college and desaturate and as you can see we have not just desaturate it the guy's head and you have no I had a working example of how the patio does work within the camp environment remember to subscribe to our Channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at www.ge.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be having a look at their perspective clone tool in by the clones hill is a very popular tool which you will find yourself using when you come to work with it basically what it does is it will take one part of the photograph and it will copy it to another part of the photograph like such let me undo this now if you come over here you will see that you have a scale size if you have a look at my brush diameter at minute it's actually quite big but we come over here to the skill size you'll see that it actually becomes smaller so this is how you control the size of the clone brush so if we come back here and we increase it and make the bigger what I'm going to do now is basically I'm going to make this entire toy disappear and the way I do this is that I select part of the photograph in order to hide this toy so if I come over and start here if I press control left click it like it will now select this area of the brush and when I move over here and when I put left-click it will not copy that section of the photograph to this section of the footbath with my mouse button still held on I'm simply gonna drag my mouse and as you can see it is starting to cover the entire time which is exactly what it is that I want it from the beginning no I'm gonna come over here and I'm gonna select this part of they meet she make it blend in more hopefully and then I'm just big lake on the move done and as you can see that start and she look very good and it's starting to lock I said there was no tires there in the first place so there he go YouTube there was our demonstration of how the clones Hill does work within remember to subscribe to your channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at www.seannal.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be having a look at the dodged hill and the burns Hill within the software so let's start what is the Dodge tool okay basically have a look at my fierce when I click here with the Dodge tool you will see that I have just highlighted a section of my fierce yes it's very extreme I know however this is just to show you that the dog show does highlight stuff so if we come out of that you know knows that the dog chill highlights stuff and the burns Hill is the opposite of the dog hill which means that the burns will burn stuff so if you have a look at my face you will see the shadows where I've burnt into my fears so let's quickly undo these okay so then I on done so let's have a look at how the Dodge tool works so here we have the Dodge tool I'm gonna click on my face you see it's too bright like this is because down here I have it set on an 80th of an exposure so what I'm gonna do I'm gonna undo that I'm gonna come over here and I'm gonna die win ten so a night I win tenth of an exposure you all know I see when they click on my fears that it's not that bad and it's actually quite kill and this is exactly what I want because now with the ten percent of an exposure it allows me to gradually work my way up the mid-tones so it's not extreme I am in 100% control of how bright I want my mid-tones to lock with in this photograph so there you go there's an example of their dodge - with the mid-tones now let's say I think this photograph is too bright now what I can do is I can step back down again with regards to the burns Hill so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna click on the burn tool and I'm gonna Dow and let's say 20% and then when they click on my face now you will see that I am able she stepped back down the mid tones with the burns here with the burns Hill because the burns Hill is allowing me to gradual a step back down the different levels of the mid-tones now I'm sure you guys will agree with me that the Dodge tool Anna burns hill is an absolutely fantastic tool that all photographers should really get accustomed to when it comes to working with and their photographs so there you go guys there was my example of the Dodge tool and the burn tool within the assortment remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at Dobie Dobie Dobie dot uk' hylands.com hello youtube and welcome back to my channel today I want to talk to you about a problem that soonerlater you may fear with regards to deleting back lines in your photographs now if you have a look here you can see that I have this leftover white background still avoid my hairline and other parts of my body and of course this is because I removed a white background now what I'm gonna do is I'm going to show you how we can actually get rid of this excess leftover as if it wasn't there in the first place and the way we do that is we use a thing called fair their ages now if I can see mature box if you come down here you will see that or say further ages so if I click on that and if I leaved on the radius of 30 which is exactly what I want in this case then when I select a vine the photo and then when I press Delete you will see now that we no longer have that excess white going around my hairline well you can see it slightly but it is more or less disappeared but if we do further ages again 30 click let's give the computer time and if we press Delete again you will say that it is disappearing like the more times I press Delete the more times that I apply this further aged to my photograph and the end result is we have no more excess background and a photograph remember to subscribe to this channel when you get the time check out our online shop of what to be the VW dot uk' hylands.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be talking about how you can increase the size of your canvas within the environment if you don't know what the canvas is then basically a canvas allows us to have a larger work in area within so how do we increase the canvas size what should let me bring this image back to normal and I will show you so here we have my original image it looks something like this now what I want to do is I want to put an extension on to the bottom of this photograph because to be honest with you I don't like the thin silhouette of the grass and be cheap so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go to image I'm going to go to canvas size and a box like this will open up like this currently tells me what the size of the original photo is for example two which is three thousand four hundred and seventy six and the height is 1947 pixels high so I'm going to say I want the width to be let's say three thousand seven hundred and I want their height to be two thousand five hundred I go ahead and I click resize and as you can see it is now extended the canvas area so what I'm going to do is I'm gonna get my crop tool again and I'm gonna drop this photo here like so because I only showed you the width choose for an example but I actually need it for this photograph so one going to do now isn't gonna create a new layer bring it down here and then I'm gonna layer I'm gonna just merge this okay I'm gonna flatten my image and as you can see because I've got a black back lines I have just no extend it my photographs you have a much larger field so if I get my crop tool again and I think I'll simply just do that and come down yeah we'll go all the way and there we go so after I extended my field and I've shot in the sky within the photograph and this has all been done because I used the image canvas size and all because I used to set and meet canvas eyes in order to give me a much wider working space within the environment remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at w-w-w dot uk' highland calm hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be talking about the fully selective which we can see here in the tool box like the fuzzy select oh it is basically a tool that you use in order to select shades of color for example if we have a look here you can see that I've highlighted a section of this petal by if I click here have also highlighted a section of the petal and here I've highlighted a section of the petal now the reason why I'm only highlighting sections is because of the threshold the threshold down here as you can see it's currently 30 15.5 so if I select here it will select 15.5 of that shade of color no if I press shift and then click somewhere else like here you will see that it's now I added another 15.5 of this shade of color and if a gold here press shift left click again it is now added 15.5 of the threshold of dust shield of color if I wanted to select this entire range of light brown colors which I do and if I use this method of the shift and left click then basically I'm going to be here all day so instead what I'm going to do is I'm going to increase the threshold to say 115 point nine and now when I click on this petal you will see that I have now highlighted quite frankly most if not all of the light glowing colors and that is exactly what I wanted to achieve so I'm gonna make a new layer here because why won't you do is I want these petals here to match two red petals at the top so don't have me the new layer I am simply I'm gonna get red color then I'm gonna get my brush here and I am going to increase that and now I'm gonna start to color in these petals as you can see it doesn't look very realistic nya that we know at the minute at this minute in time but I can assure you it will look something like a match in a few seconds so here we go now we've got it so what I'm gonna do is I'm going to adjust my pass today so the bottom layer can come through to give it more texture and as you can see that now looks a little bit more like the top petals so there you go guys you've just had an introduction to the fuzzy select tool here on remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at www.carandtruckremotes.com you hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be talking about how you turn your images into black and white in what we do quite simply is we open up a photograph the one we wish to turn into black and white then all we do is we go to colors we go to desaturate and we click okay so that's basically how we turn our photographs into black and white however to share a little tip with you there's always wise when you create black and white images like this it's always wise to have a little play with your levels so you would go to colors you would go to levels and you would open up your it's just color levels now again this one on the left is shadows this one is your mid-tones and this one is your highlights so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna bring my shadows down a bit this let me slide this along okay and then I'm just gonna increase my mid-tones and I think I will leave yeah I'll leave my highlights lon but I'll just have a little bit more increase and my shadows so I'm gonna click OK and possibly what I'm gonna do now is you can shake for my photograph like so and there you go that is how i personally make my black-and-white photographs remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time visit our online shop over at www.seannal.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be having a look at the club to find here on the editor so what happens is basically you select the crop tool and then you come down here and you select if you select if you want the fixed aspect ratio or if you don't so let me give you a few examples here I'm just gonna so I'm gonna keep that unchecked so this means that I can just basically drop this photograph anyway I won't see okay so I could do that ah I could simply do that I could be escalade pretty much do anything any size I want as you can see but this is the bot I want to print and a poster and I want my poster to be the size of an a3 poster so what I've got you do now is I've got crop this image here to the size of an a3 posture so what I needs you know use a fixed aspect ratio might that have ticked it you can see that it's currently set to there 100 so 1056 by 5 7 3 pixels and that gives us this clop notice anyway I move the clop always stays to see him but the thing is this cloth is not the size of an a3 poster so I've got his he'll I want the size of an A three poster so one quality is I'm gonna come down here I'm gonna click in here and then I'm gonna type n 420 : by two nine seven and then we're gonna say it's millimeters and now when I come support my image you will say that I have a deaf to a different aspect ratio cloth before and now I actually have the cloth off and a three poster so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna select something like this so my poster would end up looking something like this and as you can see I have lost a lot of detail but to be honest with you I have to make a sacrifice somewhere in order to have my poster so as you can see I've lost on this club I've lost a left hand side however I've got to try and find a compromise and make do with what ever it really gives me for this club so I'm gonna say perhaps know that McDonald Kelly I'm gonna say trap something like that a my poster would not look something like that so there you go guys that is basically how you use the clock hill and remember to subscribe to this channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at www.ge.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be talking about how you can add transparency to your photographs with the editing software right let me show you something here in the when you select a white background of this photograph for example you will see that when I first delete I've got a black background now the reason why I've got the black background is because if we have look at her tool box we can see that black is set for the background so if we change the background she let's say white no when we come back to your photograph when we press Delete we have now got a white background the problem is we don't want the white we don't want the black background instead we want a transparent background so what we have to do is we have to tell this so we go Angela we go to transparency and we go to add alpha Channel once we've added an alpha channel to your photograph we will find when we press delete again that mean I have a transparent background now just let me quickly show you this if i zoom into my photograph you will say that avoid my hairline I still have white now just ignore this because we're going to talk about that in a different video basically you need to fear the Phaedrus if you want to get rid of that excess white but for the purpose of this video I just wanted to show you how or transparent background a lawyer source to add near photographs into the image that we have so for example you can see now if that behind the original image there's been a regional image I have not gone from this to this so there you go guys remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out my online shop over at www.carandtruckremotes.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be having a look at how we can blend two photographs in to one so here you can see I have a photograph of a stag will try a shot of in-line Park now behind that we have a photograph of the cage which is an iconic landmark also of an area of line park in Cheshire know because line park is famous for its beer what I want to do is take this deer and place it into the sky of the cage now I did this by coming over here to the layers and channels paths you know column and here where you see the thumbnail you said simply click on a thumbnail and you drag it onto the photograph of the cage so now you've transferred the deer photograph onto the cage photograph so now you have two layers so if I switch this layer off you will see that you have the cage force which this layer back on you will see that I have the stag so we have chill s now what we want to do is we want to make that overlay the Blandin so what we do is we go to less modes you see here on this ledge channels paths column what I've got here go to s ace normal click on this arrow and then just come down and change it to overlay once you've done that you'll be presented with this and as you can see there's a very nice blend my only problem is is that my stag is not where it is in the sky that I want him to be so I'm gonna come over here to my tool box I'm gonna click on my move tool and I'm gonna move my stag into the part of the sky it is that I want him to be like that to me looks fantastic so I'm gonna say that is my photograph finished and my photograph ready for upload to internet so there you go guys there is one of the ways as to how I personally blend Chi photographs in g1 remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out the online shop over at www.carandtruckremotes.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be having a look at how we can change the hue and saturation of this wheel of mineshafter photograph now how we do this is we will go to colors we'll go to shoe and saturation and they will open up this box right here you can see that we have this show we have the lightness and we have the saturation so what we're gonna do now is I'm gonna simply bring this shoe slider all the way to the left and as you can see your Verde the wheel of Manchester is now got like an orange hue avoid it now if I wanted that orange shoe to be let's say a little bit darker then I could use the circulation slider in order to make that shoe darker so now you can see it is darker so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna bring the saturation all the way to the left and you will see that it's now totally taking away all the darkness or the saturation of the colors top like so let me bring that back to the middle here we go we're gonna go back to not just emitting diode in the bees here so now we're back to not so here we go let's go back to t-shirt now if we move to show a cost you divide you'll see that we have now got more or less like a yellow shoe and if you move a bit further we now have a green shoe and if we go further we've got a darker green and now we have a blue shoe and as we keep going across the spectrum we've now got like a very dark purple shoe and keep going we've got yet there we go to side that's a lighter purple shirt and now we'll come back into the red spectrum so there you go guys that is really high yay change the sherry and I hope the video spoon of helped here remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at www.ge.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today I'm going to show you how you can get creative with color overlays within in order to add a little bit of interest to your photographs as you can see here I have a photograph of themself or Danann sa80 assault rifle which is the standard rifle of the British Army my wife done is I've added a green overlay as you can see here in order to make their photograph more interesting so I could be you know a marine on a warship perhaps it could be of all moving commando and one couldn't they know is I'm going to show you how I created this effect so let me get rid of it now we're back to the beginning what I'm gonna do is this timeline I'm going to use red color I hear my toolbox you will notice that I've got a green fog point and a black background so I'm gonna take isn't going to catch it green for coins and I'm gonna click on that and you can open up this box and because I want red lighting I'm gonna click on red so now I have a vet for coins so what I do now is I go up to layer I want a new layer open up this box and because I want to read for coins color and if I pick the foreground colors being red I'm gonna press ok and now what happens is we have and there's new valet so what to do from here is I go up chip my letters channels and paths window here and I click on mood this silver says mode normal and I combine to overlay once I click on overlay there you go now you can see that I have got a red light at this time instead of having a green light now I could play around with the opacity of this redness so bring all the way down I've got you know the star the photo from the past day back up again and gradually imagine more of that red color in to the photograph so there you go guys there was a working example of how you can spice up your photography work by adding color overlays into the editor remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out online shop over at www.carandtruckremotes.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography here on youtube today we're going to be having a look at the motion filter in now basically the motion filter is a very handy tool when you want to make things look like they are moving so for example most photographers when they take photographs of a motorsport event then they will do it like I have done it here they will simply just freeze the car in motion with a fast shutter speed where as you can see this car does look like it is parked in the middle of the racetrack we can see the people behind the car and they lock those in too so in order to give a sense of motion we are gonna have to use the motion filter which is built into so let me get rid of this layer and we will start so basically the first thing you want to do is you want to take this photograph and you want to duplicate it once you've duplicated this photograph then what you want to do is you wanna take the pen tool which is this one and you will want to draw all the way around your car now I've already done this so for the sake of the video I am just gonna jump straight to it so once you've do around your car and you've caught a tight you will be left with this so you'll just have the car by itself so the switch the back lines back on again you will see that what we have done is we're going to be keeping the top layer which was this layer we're going to keep this layer sharp and we're gonna blur to layer in the back line so let me switch this layer off and let me switch the background back on so no more you want to do is you on the goal forty filter filters and then you want to come down to blur and then you want go to motion blur once you do this a window like this will pop open and as you can see that if we increase the slider we get more of a blur and if we were going to slide the back we get less of a blur so I'm basically gonna just rate and rank at the better and go like that no then we come back okay I'm gonna go with that so I'm happy with that and I'm gonna press ok and now you can see that a blur has been added to my background so if I come up here and switch on my top level you will see that the car is now looking sharp but the background is more bluer than what it was before as a matter of fact I'm actually not happy with that so I'm gonna go back to my background and I'm gonna add a little bit more of a motion blur so again this box pops open and we simply drag the slider and we increased our blur so now I've got more of a blur here a comeback smell of a level switching back on and fair we have it now as you can see here at the back we have got the blurred background car in the background and we've got a little bit of sharpness here in the left-hand corner as you can see so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna try and fix that so I'm gonna click on the top layer I'm gonna click on the mesial and I'm gonna see if I can leave that section back a bit now as you can see at the minute it is working very well and one more so gonna do is I'm gonna equip the blur tool and I'm just gonna blur avoid this section and this section at the back all the way down give that a little bit more tender loving care and just a volunteer and this one and I do believe that that is finished so there you go guys now you can say that the final photograph does look like that the car is moving and that is basically hi I'm add movement fire and to my action photographs remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out the online shop over at www.ufxmarkets.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today we're going to be having a look at what is less within the thick editor when you start to work with photographs in editors such as you will have to get used to the idea of working with less okay but what is less less quite simply can be thought of as photographs which were placed over the top of each other for example here we can see on my layers palette that I have three layers I have the first layer I have the second layer and I have the third layer so let's have a look at this in more detail the first layer I have switched on which is of course this red beer now if I switch this layer off you will see that all I have is a blank canvas I've switched that layer back on again you will see that the photograph V appears so that is the first layer now if I come down here and switch on the second layer and if I switch the first layer off you will now see that what I have done on the second layer also you can think of it like the second photograph is that I have removed the sky from the red B is environment and if I switch the second layer off you'll see again I've got a blank canvas now if we move on to the third layer and switch the third layer on you will see that I now have a new photograph and that photograph is the cage which I photographed of in Lion Park so that's the third layer if I switch the third layer off you will see that I have a blank canvas now the whole point of working with layers in the first place is in order to a lawyer's photographers to overlay photographs upon photographs so let me give you example here we have the vert there that I just photographed from the camera but I don't like the sky I think the sky is kind of boring so what I done was IVA moved the sky and hey presto I have no overlapped their photograph of the red there on Jay the photograph of the cage and I have done this simply by creating layers so as you can say legs over very handy chill for us photographers two years so remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at www.carandtruckremotes.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography today and want to share with you something which i have only just figured out how to do know this was my problem my problem was that I wanted to take this car here which we can see which is in its own layer and I wanted to make this car bigger and when I made the car bigger it would then replace this car that we do see here now at the minute you can see that this car here is actually smaller than a car behind it and that's why I wanted to make this car in color much bigger so that was the problem so what I did and it was a mistake was I was going over to image then I was clicking on skill with me and then I was typing in something like let's say to you so you sinned so I 2000 and still and as you can see it makes the overall image make no again that's not what I wanted to do the only thing I wanted to make big was this car here and the finally work so it's how you did it and I'm gonna show you so what you want to do is you want to click on to the LED is that you want to increase so am i case it's this layer and then you wanna appear on their thumbnail you want a light click and then you want to come down and click on alpha to selection once you do this you will get these marching ants avoid the selection of the car in my case it's a car so now what you want to do is you want to come over here to your tool box then you want to click on scale tool and then you click on factual car and as you can see now I've now got these bars and what this allows me to do is it allows me to know to drag the corners of this and make my car much bigger and as you can see I have more or less just replaced the car and the background and that is exactly what it was I wanted to do as you can see I've got these faint outlines around the car or I can just simply flatten the image and you know clone over this line but again YouTube those the problem was having and Noah falling down sir again what you do is you right click and then you outfits you selection then you come to your box click on the scale tool and then you click and then you get your corners and you simply drag remember to subscribe to this channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at www.micaelaferrero.com hello youtube and welcome to UK highland photography today we're going to be having a look at their own shop mask within the editing software so let's have a look first at my photograph so here we have a lovely stag churn the rotten season now as we zoom in we can see that their eyes and the nose etc look kind of soft locking and it doesn't a soft looking stag is really something we don't want to be seeing particularly churn the rotten season so what we're going to do is we're going to enhance this photograph free there on shop mask tool so what we're gonna do is we're gonna go over to filters we're going to go to enhance and then we're gonna click on unsharp mask this then opens up this box by vicious with this wider we will see that we've now got our preview area what this happens here is is automatically applied the last settings it was that I did use with regards to the unsharp mask tool so if I click here then we will say that this photograph no here is exactly the same mr. photograph we see here so if I press this this then sharpens their image and this gives you a preview of what this photograph will look like with these settings here so this is how you sharpen an image if you move more to the right you will see that the meats will come small sharper and you also notice that the further to the visor I go the more of a halo effect I get avoid the actual stack so if we bring this back you'll notice that the meat is though sharper but we just don't have that much of a halo effect so I'm gonna bring that right back so that is basically simply hi you used our own shop mask tool so now that I am happy I'm just gonna go ahead and press ok and the computer is gonna apply the mask to my photograph and as you can see they snip before and this is with masks so this is the normal photograph and this is the modified for the graph with the mask until so there you go guys there was a working example of how you use the unsharp mask tool within the editing software remember to subscribe to the channel and when you get the time check out our online shop over at to be to be W dot uk' hylands.com hello youtube and welcome back to UK highland photography have you ever wondered how you wedding photographers turn photographs into black and white but to keep some part of the photograph in color let me show you how these guys do this okay we're going to be using and as you can see I've got this character here and what I'm going to do is I'm going to turn this character into black and white or keep his umbrella in color so this is how we do it first of all we create a new layer or we make a new copy of the photograph then we hide that photograph and then we select the fade very first layer and then we go to colors desaturate and press ok and now we've turned our photograph black and white now we go back up to our very first photograph and we switch that back on and then using the pen tool we draw a vines the actual umbrella I don't have to be exact because I'm making a video for demonstration purposes only where as you can see you simply just wore a vines sunbrella now you press right click and you go select from path because it's a path we made now you get your marching ants or vined umbrella then you go to select invert and now we need to add alpha laughs so we go to your layer transparency add alpha layer and then we press delete and hey presto we now have one photograph where its own black and white but one section of it is in color and that is how wedding photographers do this technique remember to subscribe to this channel and when you get the time check out the online shop over at www.carandtruckremotes.com
