Lawn Tractor Pull (with a rough ending!)

[Music] [Applause] so [Music] pretty good pull for nick dunn give him a hand 224 588. oh we got a lot here looks like it'll be a good night there she is [Music] [Music] welcome back everybody here we are i am finally doing a lawn tractor pull with my dad here and my uncle both it's the first one of the season they got the john deere completely built and ready to hustle they had it last year but now it's a hot rod i'm ready to see how it does i've got some footage already a little bit of what's already going down tonight uh the track is pretty tacky so i bet this song is going to get this video clicked off or whatever but that's okay i'm not making anything off of these anyway so but the track is really tacky and right now they're running side by sides on it for a long time now and they got a lot more to go it's already like 8 30. this is we'll start at 7 they've been working the track in for a while uh so it's gonna be a long night i'm gonna get some footage for you guys i can't wait to see how this hot rod does that's what i'm most stoked about i know dad's excited too she's pulling it and my uncle has his cub here so let's see how tonight goes hope you guys enjoy [Applause] 233 204 and the side-by-sides are done so we're going to get ready for the by the kids singles and then plant what i think is going to happen austin stephen 231 five [Music] [Music] there we go dad got tired of it he went over there to start talking she wasn't come moving the freaking sled over because everybody was just stopping at the same spot nothing was happening at all the track is just yeah man they're just going right they're going four to ten foot and that's it he's probably put over there to mention it too nicely he's not a jerk but he's like look this is sad so that's what happened all right so apparently they did listen or everybody's been kind of talking to them they're starting on the opposite side of the track now it's a little bit more firm down there not as squishy as it is down here where it's everything's just sinking so hopefully we'll be able to get a little bit better action out of it we'll see although when they drug that they drug the trailer down there there's a sled they were on the far right and they just sunk in a hole like they found like a sinkhole it went down like a foot and a half another wild but we got it covered so we'll see how goes [Music] i think that was the farthest four so far [Music] but okay so here's the track they're starting down there this area right here is about 60 60 foot over here is probably like 200. that's as far as they're getting the 60 foot just because that's how the track is but would you be turning around right here if you're this blade or would you be doing a straight shot down as far as you can then turn around down here and do a straight shot back to keep this all as smooth as possible like that's just killing me like i've never been involved in this at all but i've done the lawnmower racing and i'll be honest it's killing me [Music] [Music] oh [Music] okay so oh [Music] oh one [Applause] yeah it's half that general area he kept saying he was gonna run third gear i don't think that was third gear but either way he just won so he took first in the class so all right guys now we're getting ready for the 10 50 class my uncle's gonna pull on it i think i'm talking my dad into pulling that one too i think he's going to run third gear and that was the point grant's second gear he chickened out the last second and where everybody was like no run that monster in third gear the hub was running put weight in the back yeah [Music] all right it's 11 15. they're getting ready to start the final the hot stock 1050 class so my uncle my dad and one other guy is all that's left there was like five but the rest of the other two or three things that wasn't left five or six they left so now there's three my uncle my dad and one other guy named robert so we're gonna watch them here in just a minute and i'll see how they do dad's gonna run third gear so we'll see how these guys do [Applause] all right i'm gonna record all three of them so robert's up first then my uncle tim and my dad that's a closer so i'll record all three i'll get the i'll get the distance [Music] [Music] 829. all right [Music] 104 6 40. [Music] there's a side not pulling a john deere he won't like that and the night is all over uh it was fun i had a good time it was a late night it got done at like 12 15. so it was late um i had fun i got glad i got to watch dad pull this hot rod for the first time uh i think he was pulling close to six grand rpm so that was neat i don't know exactly what he's pulling there at the end but it was pretty close i i hate that it broke like i felt like i kind of peer pressured him into pulling that last class because he was ready to load up and go but i was like no way i want to see your pool and he's like all right so he went back out there and uh he blew the transmission i don't know what it took out but it's not pretty um so my bad partially and just to talk about real quick i don't mean to be a negative nancy the only reason i hope i didn't sound like that because i volunteered before i volunteered at the patton race track um so i understand like this is more than likely just people volunteering but i care and that's why i was saying that stuff and i'm sure it doesn't always help having people trying to tell you how to run stuff it never works out quite that good i get it i was in that position but here's the thing i think they only pull the azalea festival just i think that's only once a year i think that's like one of the biggest uh events that happens for further town so i feel like you know the ball was just dropped i don't mean that mainly like i feel like you had one chance you had a whole bunch of people they had a crap ton of people there like i said they had like all the drivers were saying man this is a lot of people here everybody's coming out of covid they're wanting to get to a big cool event and they come here and the track was just not ready now to be fair i think it did run it rained this week obviously it did rain it did not rain any that day it did not rain any saturday it did not i don't know if it rained that night i don't think it rained that much so i don't know i could be wrong i could also just be a complete idiot and your guys are gonna say no jacob there's no way they could have really fixed that track like there's no way they could have got it prepped enough but if i'm wrong tell me how would you have fixed it i want to know i want to see how would you guys have fixed so you tilt it up put lime in it and then smooth the back out how would you guys have fixed that track from saturday morning until six o'clock 6 30 saturday evening so that you could pull that track properly let me know if there's a way cause i said i don't know much i know i know about dirt track racing uh but as far as a lot more racing we would just if it rained a ton we just had to cancel so that's gonna wrap up this video i hope you guys enjoyed i feel sorry for dad but he's not done that thing is nowhere he's just he's just starting we knew the transmission was eventually gonna go it was the weakest link so like i said let me know if i'm an idiot or if i'm right how would you guys have done stuff differently i want to know i'm not trying to be a bully i want to know i care about this stuff i care about these kinds of events lawn tractor pulling dirt racing lawnmower racing i love this stuff i hope you guys enjoyed this first pool it's been awesome i hope you guys love the video and i hope you have a great [Music] day
