Lattice Addition to Fence | ADDITIONAL BACKYARD PRIVACY

hey stunning fam this is sarah welcome back to another diy video today we're adding lattice to the top of our fence our fence is pretty low we live in a new construction home so these houses tend to have low fences unfortunately so we just want to add a little bit more privacy to our yard and both of our neighbors on both sides of our home agreed to do this as well we didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on this project so brandon found some pieces of lattice on facebook marketplace that we could use he brought them home and removed the borders from them we were not able to find enough lattice to fill the whole yard so brandon had to go to home depot to buy some 4x8 foot lattice we did try to sand the old lattice down but the paint was not coming off so we ended up just painting all of it the old and the new lattice the lattice is going to be held up anchored to these 4x4 pressure treated pieces of wood so brandon is cutting each post down to the same length to fit in between each piece of lattice as you can see in the time lapse brandon places the still post base on the fence he then places the 4x4 in the base and uses a clamp to secure the piece of lattice to the post while he screws them together unfortunately this was not videoed but he did rip one by twos to make new borders for the old lattice and he nailed them in for the other side brandon did a little bit of a different process because this was brand new lattice and not old lattice so he actually bought lattice caps from home depot to place on the sides of each piece of lattice and then for the bottom and the top he used the one ripped one by twos just like he did on the other side of the fence with the old lattice the last step for both sides of the fence was placing pressure treated two by fours on top thanks for coming to watch another stunning video we hope that you all have a great week take care see you next time [Music] you
