Okay, so the new course of CA is coming, the
new course is applicable from the May 24 examinations,
this is known to everyone. But the most confusing
thing is about self-paced module. That which reference material to use here or what is the
eligibility criteria for the self-paced module. What is the transition scheme here? What is
the marking system here? How are the papers going to be set here? Will it be case scenario? Is
it be MCQ? How much marks will each paper carry? How do we prepare? What is section wise weightage?
There are many things in your mind. To put an end to this confusion, this particular video
will help you a lot. Along with this, I will cover the latest updates related to the self-paced
module. It will be very useful and you have any doubts related to the new course, do comment
and tell me in the comment section. Lots of videos are lined up on the channel. I would try
and resolve your queries in the upcoming videos or in the upcoming sessions. So subscribe to the channel
and hit the bell icon. the first question is when should we give self-paced module So now the rule is that whatever final examinations
you give, before giving your final examinations, you should clear all the self-paced modules.
But here the exception is that if you are giving examinations in May 2024, then you are exempt
that you can give self-paced modules even after your May 24 examinations. Now how this self-paced
module is going to be conducted? See, what was the information till now? Home based, you
have to sit at home and give the examination. But as per the latest news, as per the latest
updates, ICAI is establishing centers, computer based centers where they have to go to the centers
and give your examinations. And the results of those examinations will come immediately
based upon your performance there. So this is not going to be home based, this is going
to be center based, that you have to go to the center and give the examinations. Next thing
is what subjects are to be there ?
There are going to be four sets here. Set A which is your law, from your group 1 in CA Finals.
The law that was in CA final is now removed. You don't have law in CA final and that is converted
to a self-paced module. That is set A. Set B is earlier there was SCMPE subject in CA final group 2
That is now removed and that is converted to the self-paced module. That is set B. In Set C you have 10 options. You have to select any of
the 10 options and in Set D you have 4 options . You have to select any of the 4 options. So these are going
to be the subjects for self-paced modules. Now the question is what will be the reference
material for this? Reference material for Set A and Set B is already issued by ICAI. The remaining
reference materials will also be released by ICAI soon So this was a question regarding the
reference material. Do we have to give all the sets? So hear me
out very carefully. If you are a CA intermediate student and you have not cleared any group till
now means the result that will come now If you have not cleared any group till now, then
you have to give all the sets A, B, C, D Now this scenario can happen that if you have cleared
group 1 in November 23 then also You have to give 4 sets
A, B, C, D. There is only one option. If you have cleared Group 2 of CA intermediate till
now or in November 2023, then you have to give set A and B. There is one option between Set C and
Set D. You have to give one of these sets. So this is for the CA intermediate students. For CA Final students, If you have till now or till November 23, if you have cleared Group
1, then you are exempted from giving Set A. Why exempted? It's clear logic, right? Set A
is law. And if you have cleared the law in Group 1, then there is no need to give it. And
if you have cleared Group 2, till now or till nov 23 of CA Final then you are exempted from giving Set B. and CA final students are not allowed to give a
set C or D if you have cleared the intermediate If you have cleared either of the groups of CA Final
then set C and D you don't have to give
and from set A and B you have to give any one Depending upon which group you have cleared
So this transition related question
was a big confusion in our mind If you have any questions related to this, do comment below and let me know
This was a major issue that students were facing Along with this, What will be the paper pattern?
It will be MCQ based. In the A and B papers, ICAI has said that you need expert
level knowledge. These are going to be the expert level papers. Here we will ask case scenario
based questions. So, more in-depth studies will be required. And in the set C and D, we
will ask knowledge based questions. These will be of 100 marks papers, MCQ based, no negative
marking. So, that's a good news, no negative marking. And one more good news is that you
can give these papers multiple times. You can give multiple times and there is no restriction
on the number of attempts here. Also, ICAI is going to put some lectures on their Digital
Learning Hub. So there is going to be a requirement that you have to see the compulsory lectures.
Those lectures will specify the number of specific hours ICAI. Only after seeing the specific hours,
it would be eligible to go and attempt the upcoming examinations, upcoming self-paced module.
So it will be mandatory to see those lectures. minimum 50% requirement to clear
every paper see we normally give 40 marks to but to clear self-paced module minimum
50% marks requirement so this was regarding the passing criteria In set A and set B ,you will get 3 hours each and
in set C and set D you will get 2 hours so this was the hours allocation
also for the same
so I hope I have covered all these things reference material, transition scheme, passing criteria and subjects,If you have any doubts, then do comment in the comment section because I know even you are going through this transition,
even faculties are going through this transition
and It is our responsibility to tell help you out and I would try my best to help you out with in every manner I can So believe in yourself, This is me signing out
Wish you all the best
