Reddit hates Knight, and I get where they are coming from. That being said, a lot of Indiana folks have a Knight story, so I figured I'd share mine.
My uncle was dying of lung cancer.(One of the worst things you could ever witness) My uncle was also a huge IU fan and had an entire room dedicated to IU memorabilia. Bob Knight made the trip down to Bloomfield, IN to see my uncle on his death bed.
Bob Knight did a bunch of awful shit. But for every one bad thing Knight did there were a dozen very awesome things he did for people and the community.

Grew up in Indiana where Bob Knight walks on water and anything he touches is consecrated ground. Maybe it's my upbringing talking, but the man has a aura of command and power. I have both positive and negative feelings about Coach Knight, but I will always respect his accomplishments.
I wanna see some video of Knight playing fast pitch softball lol
