[Music] hey guys it is miss simrino if you are returning to the channel welcome back and if you are brand new i am very excited that you decided to join me here today for another speed build and right off the bat if i sound a little bit uh raspy or nasally i am so sorry i tried to wait until my voice returned to semi normal but i have been sick the past week which is super duper fun i am perfectly fine i'm feeling so much better but the only lingering thing is that my voice sounds a little bit wonky so i hope it's not really terrible but we are building a base game only home today which i'm very excited for because we did just get an update to base game which added thousands of new swatches to some items that already existed in a base game so i'm really excited about that now i don't recall if i actually use any of the new swatches in this build like that was my intention to just go ahead and try something base game see what other color schemes i could come up with what kind of styles i could go for and i think i used one of the new swatches at least of a flooring but i don't know about anything else maybe curtains too i've been using a particular curtain from base game a lot now because we got neutral swatches which is amazing anyway you can see that the exterior is coming together and i tried very very hard to get away from my typical like stereotypical suburban home with siding that was basically it i was trying not to use like paneling or siding i wanted to try to use some brick or stone textures instead to see what i could kind of come up with i also use a few different columns it just seemed a little bit different from some of my other base game builds and we actually end up moving from this lot in new crest over to a lot in willow creek that is a little bit bigger i want to say it's wider i think it's a 30 by 40 compared to this lot which is a 30 by 20. at least i think it'll be down below if you're always curious as to what lot i ended up building on or what the size is you can always check the details in the description box by the way but so we do end up moving on to another lot because the house ended up getting a little bit wider than i was anticipating because i wanted to add a garage now of course it's a faux garage because we don't have cars in the sims 4 but i did fill it with a few different garage type items and activities and i also used a roof piece to kind of make a little bit of a ramped driveway which i've seen other people do it before i haven't done it in what feels like a very long time i don't know if i've even done it for a build on the channel i may have just played around with it at some point but i did that just because i was genuinely feeling lazy and i didn't feel like using the concrete or trying to get a debug garage door from base game because there is one in that debug menu so you can kind of fake a garage that way but i used a debug car to kind of highlight that this is indeed a garage and i am here trying to sort out where to put the chimneys because i wanted the roof to be a bit more dynamic the roofing for this build was actually really challenging for me i thought it looked really funny for the longest time i think i worked on this build over the course of maybe like three or four days and i did the exterior and i actually sat on it for a day or two before i started the interior because i genuinely didn't know if i liked it but i thought it came out i think pretty cute it almost looks a little bit more modern suburban on the exterior and inside compared to the outside like in contrast is actually a lot of dark wood tones there's a darker color scheme throughout the interior whereas where oz whereas on the exterior things are kind of like a little bit brighter and there's a healthier mix but you can see here that i am adding on to the back just to make it a little bit more of a fun shape compared to just a square or a rectangle so there is a back porch and a front porch and then we end up moving on i believe to some of the landscaping which i also did a little bit differently i don't know this build is unique to me i think it doesn't look like a lot of my other builds at least i don't think it does i think it's really just with the textures that i ended up using but you guys will definitely have to let me know and you can see here that i actually had to place that roof piece back so it's it's very frustrating but every time you add a wall at a room add any kind of detail to the structure that that roof piece is touching because it's on the ground it deletes that roof piece it was really frustrating it actually happened when i did the floor plan on the interior so i ended up just adding it back at the end for screenshots and to finalize things because it kept on getting deleted it was driving me insane but you can see that we are starting on the landscaping and i actually found this item now i don't know what it is but it's in the debug menu and i wanted to try to take the stone texture from the exterior and use that to create small garden beds in the front and i didn't want to use the stones that we have in the actual build and buy catalog because i wanted this to be very manicured i wanted it to be very rectangular the way in which the stones were and the ones in the build and by catalog are a little bit more organic they're a little bit rough so i've seen people do this before as well i actually i'm trying to like tie things together that i've seen other people do before to see if i like it so there's this item in the debug menu it almost looks like a package i don't know if that's technically what it is but it looks like a package it's almost near the bottom of the base game debug menu and it's reasonably small and i used a handful of them to try to create this little garden bed and i thought it looked really nice i've seen people size these up i've seen them use them at this size and create garden beds as well and it just created some really kind of clean soft lines even those that curve around and i just really really liked it so i do that on this side i also do it on the other side off camera but now we are working on the interior so there ends up being i think three bedrooms and three bathrooms now this is a really big home so what you could do is you could take the office space that i made downstairs along with the hobby room that i made downstairs and you can turn them into bedrooms if you want to that was kind of the original plan was that maybe there would be a guest bedroom or a bedroom for grandparents on the first floor but i just really wanted to use as many like i don't know skill building items as i could now i never use the telescope or the rocket chip because they're just huge and they have to go outside anyway so i was just trying to make a hobby room but you guys will see that when we get to it the first room that we do work on is the kitchen and i really spent my time in the kitchen because i grabbed a lot of clutter from the debug menu and one of the things that i did for this base game build and that i'm starting to do for more base game builds when i actually tackle them as i try to take artwork from the gallery just to spice things up a little bit now here's the catch and this is really disappointing because this is a no cc build which means there is no custom content you do not have to download anything externally to have this house placed with all the items okay and put that out there but what i did in using artwork from the gallery technically it is quote unquote custom artwork this means that someone had their sim maybe take a picture of something and then paint it and then what you can do of course when your sim create something is you can hang it up in your sims home now it's not custom content right like it's in game content however when you download artwork like that from the gallery and place it in your builds it is flagged as custom content so if you are looking for this build on the gallery under my page which is my id is miss simrino just like my name across all social socials if you are looking for this build it is going to be flagged for custom content which means you have to check that box that says include custom content when you're looking at my gallery page it's super frustrating to me i really really wish like if there's one thing that i could wish for with an update to i guess the sims 4 in general this is honestly taking precedent at this time because it's so frustrating to me i wish that the gallery would get an update where things like this which are not custom content they were made in game by other sims and just uploaded to the gallery for players to use i really wish that this would not make a build be flagged as cust as using custom content it's super frustrating but it really adds some spice to builds it makes them a little bit more unique so i hope you enjoy it but i wanted to kind of explain that to the best of my ability because it is going to be flagged as such and that is super frustrating to me and i'm assuming it's a little bit frustrating to you guys as well because it won't show up in my gallery if you don't have that little box checked so anyway you can see that we are cluttering up the kitchen here there is a small little bar height counter where your sims can actually sit and eat some meals but there is a dining table as well and the dining room's a little bit cramped but i made it work so i hope that you don't mind it because i didn't want it to be too too big i didn't want to take too much space but i did really like the kitchen i end up swapping some of that custom artwork as well but i do it off camera and that's another thing i'll mention is all of the um folks that i downloaded custom artwork from on the gallery i will link down below so you guys can check out their gallery pages and download any of this custom artwork for yourself if you wanted to of course if you do download this build it will just be in the build but if you want to explore what else they have to offer i will definitely link them down below so you can check it out but right here on the outside of the kitchen is the dining room and like i mentioned i went with a darker color scheme on the interior and it's not super modern but i i feel like i kind of mixed a few different styles throughout different rooms in this build so the dining room is it has a flare of modern but not really it's pretty typical suburban traditional whatever you want to call it but the living space to me almost feels a tad modern i don't know why i don't have anything to back up these these labels that i'm applying to these styles because i really don't know what the heck i'm talking about but we're on to the garage where i did use the platforming tool to lower it down just because thinking that this is where you would step down a couple steps into that garage because it would have to be lower than a home's foundation like realistically speaking but there is a punching bag here a treadmill and there's also a woodworking bench so there are a few different skill building items here which i thought was really fun it made the garage not entirely useless considering that we don't of course have cars in the sims 4. so i really like doing that if you had some other packs like eco lifestyle or what else even like cottage living you could probably put a few different things on the garage as well some more skill building items but these are the typical ones that i'll put in a garage for a base game build and i also added this mat here which works perfectly if you have some workout equipment and add another wall decoration over here i think it's just like a bunch of tools and things i've never really understood that i should probably read the description of that particular piece because i've never really looked at it as to what it is i also add a few garbage cans in the garage now there's two in the garage and there's two by the curb so there's a lot of garbage cans here you don't need that many for your sims but here is the entryway i also tried to use different wallpapers for each room if possible if i felt as though it worked and the new swatch or one of the new swatches of those base game curtains that i absolutely love so i did use some of the new swatches yay me i honestly didn't know if i had but i did and i'm realizing now oh my gosh i'm listening to my self-talk i sound so sick i really do i sound really raspy but i'm already halfway maybe over halfway through this voiceover at this point i'm gonna apologize but i'm also not going to redo this at this point because this is i consider this a job and i kind of have to still do my job to the best of my ability even if i'm a little bit sick so i hope you guys don't mind please don't yell at me or make fun of me but i am definitely um a little bit raspy right now so i am so sorry but we are almost finished decorating this little entryway where i do actually add a wardrobe because i realized that the bedrooms were a little bit more cramped upstairs than i wanted to and that wardrobe in particular looks like it could be a console table so it's kind of nice to have a space near the front door where your sims can maybe change into just different outfits before they leave the house so maybe if your sim was going to the gym and you were like all right stop by that wardrobe on your way towards the front door and change into your gym clothes it just adds a small sense of realism i don't know if anyone else plays like that i actually do it all the time i either don't use wardrobes at all or i strategically place them in builds like that so my sims will use them where it feels appropriate i i don't know if that makes any sense but we're working on the living room now which was actually a pretty decent size i was surprised i didn't think it was going to be this big and this spacious though it felt a little bit cramped once i added some bookshelves but you guys will see those they're the really skinny ones which i love very very much they're technically a career unlock but if you do the bb ignore gameplay unlocks entitlement cheat which if i remember correctly as i was going through this footage again i hopefully put that on screen for you but if you use that cheat you will actually be able to unlock items that are technically restricted to various careers but then you can use them in build mode which is fantastic and these are going to be the bookshelves that i was talking about i placed them here on this wall over there but before i do that actually to pause i actually go ahead and take some more custom artwork from the gallery it's so beautiful and the blues matched these couches so nicely but those are the bookshelves i was referring to and right there i actually have a door leading to the other room because i was going to make it a bedroom but what i end up doing is i make it a smaller archway and that ends up being the hobby room kind of off of the living space but the office is off the back well like the back mud room i guess we'll say the back entryway there's a door that leads to a fairly decent sized office and i really really like it i think it's the next room that we work on aside from the full bathroom that's downstairs i think every bathroom in this build as well is a full bathroom where it has at least a place for your sims to use the bathroom as well as deal with their hygiene needs so that was kind of a huge plus as well for this home more often than not downstairs i strive for a minimum of a half bath so there's at least another place for your sims to use the bathroom but i was able to do a full bath down here which was spectacular i put the entrance right at the bottom of the stairs and i was trying to get some more debug items just to add some realism here and there like right there i actually grabbed that was lighter fluid um you don't really want lighter fluid next to a candle number one and it was mainly supposed to be for the fireplace but then i actually found the the lighter like the long lighter so i put it up top because that's what your sims will just spontaneously spawn when they go to light the fireplace and then i was trying to add this debug cell phone because i thought it was a nice little addition i ended up only putting it in the kitchen on the counter with this bag also from zoomers because the zoomers food delivery service is a base game thing as well so i had that bag from zoomers there was a cell phone and a little notebook and a pen trying to basically make it look like they made a grocery list for grocery shopping but they got zoomers because they didn't have any food in the house there's also an envelope that looks like a bill so i don't know i just wanted to add little tiny details to a base game build especially because there's a lot of repeat of items i feel i struggle personally with making base game look different every time there are some people that are insanely talented at using just base game and making things just look so spectacular one i would like to call out because i was seeing some screenshots over on the twitter machine of this particular user making a base game only home and i was like how the heck did you do this is julia builds she is absolutely incredible she is insanely talented her base game builds like i don't understand how she does it so um hopefully she she hears me sing her praises because she's incredible and she's an inspiration to me but this ends up being the office so i was trying to make kind of a custom desk situation here but what i ended up doing is i used these shelves i sized them up one i put like books and flowers and some other clutter items up there and then i used the cabinets below to make it look like it was a built-in unit i do change the colors over to the darker wood tones to kind of match the rest of the build but then in front of these cabinets i place a couch because it's just supposed to look like a built-in unit behind the couch and i don't know if the sims that live here made that themselves if it served a different purpose prior and they kind of transformed it into a little nook there i don't know but i thought it was a nice addition to an office because typically in an office there's a desk a computer and a bookcase and maybe one other hobby building item like an easel or something so i wanted to make this a little bit different like i also sized down this bookshelf and tried keyword tried to make it look as though it was a built-in part of this desk even though it has different wood colors we're just gonna ignore that and that makes it unusable but there is a bookcase in the living room that your sims can use there's going to be a bookcase here that i end up blocking with a chair on purpose you can of course move the chair if you want to but i did it on purpose because there are plenty of bookcases in this build for your sims to actually use but i just wanted it to look a little bit more lived in a little bit more furnished and personalized and i also add a fair amount of artwork into this room as well just because the blank walls make me sad they really do they make me sad i also added a mirror i think above that little built-in unit and holy moly i feel like i'm running out of breath i think it's especially because i'm sick i feel like i can't catch my breath appropriately because i'm basically trying to breathe through my mouth i'm a huge mouth breather right now so i hope i haven't offended you throughout this whole build but there's also going to be a wardrobe in this little back entryway that leads out to the back porch and it's very plainly decorated there really isn't too much going on but this ends up being the hobby room where i do add a paint easel a painting easel there's also a chess board and then there's also just another place to sit it's not too exciting but it was a small enough space that i felt as though it could house some of these skill building objects and i don't know i didn't like it as a bedroom but you guys of course can do whatever you'd like to if you didn't want any of these skill building items you could just toss them out make this a bedroom if you need it you can do whatever you'd like won't phase me at all i won't even know if you download this and change anything so it doesn't bother me but i thought it was a nice use of the space instead of making it a bedroom and actually i think the first thing i was thinking is i was going to make this a bathroom i was going to make it a little bit smaller a little bit more skinny i was going to make the living room a little bit bigger and then make this a bathroom but it just seemed way too big to be a bathroom i don't like making really big bathrooms i don't know if i'm the only one that has this problem but i despise i mean i really really don't like making big bathrooms mine are always like two by three or two by four that's it like i can't make them any bigger making them like three by three makes me really uncomfortable i don't know why i see it and it makes me uncomfortable so i can't do it it's a very odd sensation but you can see here that we're on to the second floor this is where all the bedrooms are and there's also two more full bathrooms now the floor plan is a weird one it's weird it really is and the toddler room they end up making is a little bit small you're gonna have to use some of the base game bunk beds if you have toddlers on this build and they age up because the room is very tiny but i made that sacrifice on purpose because i wanted the parents of course to have their double bed but i also wanted the teenager that i imagined being part of this family i wanted the teenager to have a double bed as well and actually have a substantial amount of space i was also trying to make a built-in unit for this bed and i just was not liking anything i was coming up with so i scrapped that idea and i didn't end up doing that but i tried i tried a few different times i tried a few different beds but i just really didn't like how anything looked so i end up using this bed which is again a career unlock with base game i think this one is unlocked via the painting career now i don't remember which branch because there's two branches that you can go down in the painting career i think this one is not the art critic branch but the actual like painter branch i don't remember what it's called but anyway it's a career unlock so if you use that same cheat code that i mentioned earlier you can use this bed in build mode to your heart's desire and then i also added that little technically it's a console table at the end of the bed but i don't know if this was just me i i haven't run into a lot of other people that have had this making this seem like such a big deal it's really not but my mom always had a trunk at the end of her bed no no that's a lie i had a trunk at the end of my bed it was it was kind of a trunk it was where we kept like random things and blankets and stuff so that's why i always place one at the end of a bed it's either like an ottoman or a trunk of some kind where it's basically just supposed to be faux storage in my head but there's also a dresser the stand-up mirror here and then i end up giving the parents i believe a flat screen tv in their room so they can get away from the kids watch some tv before bed or something watch a movie kind of unwind without all of maybe the screaming or whining or whatever the case is because we all know that kids do those things anyway it was very plainly decorated for the most part i tried to clutter it up just a little tiny bit but i didn't want to go too overboard i didn't want it to be overwhelming because if i have a really cluttered space it usually drives me a little bit crazy especially in the bedroom like the bedroom has to be very clean and organized for me to feel relaxed i don't know if you guys are the same but this ends up being the i think the teenagers room yes it's going to be the teenagers room and i wanted this to look as though this teen maybe they're a preteen or they're transitioning from childhood into teenage something that i try to achieve a lot with different teenager or kid rooms so it looks somewhat youthful but there's also elements that are trying to show that this child is going to become a teenager very soon so their interests are kind of changing things are becoming a little less youthful that's the only way i can describe it but i added a little side table over there and there's going to be a dresser here and in the room there is going to be a guitar and a bookcase so there are a few different activities for this child soon to be teenager to do in the actual room but i add up some posters and this really cute mirror that we got with the base game update probably almost close to a year ago at this point i honestly can't keep track of them if i say honestly one more time i'm going to stop recording because i've said it a lot but here is the guitar i also gave the sim a digital camera and a stereo so they're just very much into music and different art forms and they're really just trying to find themselves because i think that's what we all do as teenagers is we're really starting to hone in on certain interests that we have and trying to really define who we are as a person and it's a very i don't know do i want to say traumatic no i don't want to say traumatic that is not the right word it can be a tumultuous time for a lot of us but it's also a very fun time i fondly remember my teenage years they were they were complete chaos but they were fun because i didn't choose to be an adult if i had if i had a choice i would have stopped aging at like 18 would have been a great time for me anyway it is a little bit later at night that i'm recording this voiceover and i've been sick so i'm like a little bit loopy i think too but the teenager's room is pretty much together at this point and then we are going to be working on the toddler room which i think is very cute i think it is very plainly decorated for a toddler room though there is something at least on each wall but it is cramped so like i mentioned if you do have toddlers in this room when they age up into children you can't really easily get two children's single beds in here so you probably want to use bunk beds which maybe that was this family's idea maybe what they're going to be doing is when the toddlers age up they're going to take that hobby room and transition some of those things upstairs and maybe the kids can be downstairs or maybe the teen will give up their room for the younger siblings and move to a bedroom downstairs there could be some shifting some moving going on you know but the toddler room is a pretty much almost together at this point i just add a few shelves with nothing on them i really liked them just as decoration this time and then we end up moving on to the backyard which was huge it was giant i don't know what the heck came over me but that freaking backyard ended up being so big i didn't know what to do with it so my first instinct was pool you guys are getting a pool it's gonna take up at least half of the backyard so i don't have to try to think of other things to include and it ended up working i ended up using a lower lying fence also of course from base game to outline a few different garden beds which i haven't done before i think it added a little bit more what am i trying to say flair to the backyard might not be the word i was looking for but it really defined where those gardening beds were so they do have a pool a few different lounge chairs i even use the hot tub that's right your girl used the hot tub i hesitated using it because i don't like using it i don't think it was a great birthday gift anniversary gift whatever it was but i did use it because it's an activity that you now have with base game so i ended up working on the landscaping first and then i outlined the pool i got the hot tub down there's also a place for outdoor dining i think the grill ends up being on the porch if my memory is serving me correctly so that's kind of nice there's also the card table on the porch so there's another activity outside and last but certainly not least there are garden beds and a jungle gym that is right i took one of those giant jungle gyms and i put it in the backyard so the kids have a place to play i didn't even include the monkey bars that would usually be my go-to like kids outdoor item but i thought since i had the room i might as well use the jungle gym so that's kind of unique to this base game build for me because i've never used that before in my entire life i don't think i've ever done a home where i used the jungle gym i've made parks and things where i've used it because that's a little bit more appropriate i suppose but since they had the space i used it and here is going to be the outside dining table now i didn't know how to lay all these things out i am not good at laying out backyards i can't plan them out very well i just struggle with them i don't really know why that is i just feel as though wherever i place things it's awkward and unnatural so i tried to kind of frame a little bit of this backyard with landscaping not just this stone tile to make it look maybe a little bit more natural i don't know if i achieved that but that was my intent so hopefully you guys don't mind it but i'm going to leave you here even though i haven't placed the jungle gym down yet and all that stuff because i'm about to lose my voice i'm going to go cough a lot because i'm still sick and i hope that you guys did enjoy this one and i cannot wait to hear your thoughts and i will catch you next time i post a video and i'll talk to you soon bye [Music] i'm gonna skip my breaks i'm gonna [Music] not to hold me down feel the light when i'm in this town look at these beautiful stars i
