Somehow, someone (mostly in the YT comments) will still find a way to moan about the literal 8 second Squarespace plug in this video. But now I'm here moaning about a moaner - so nevermind.

This was one of my favorite videos Thomas has made in a while. I love the simplicity of it and the images produced. Made me want to go out and shoot my local area too :)

yeah most of the photograph to Instagram you today how that was quite nice image and yeah hold on commented on it and it was a really sarcastic comment something along the lines of oh it's not like fun to do a long exposure there will bother me he'll why bother me bother me because it made me realize attacks accent haven't done you know long ago that love long included so today today's video is only did it belonged explosion not only the fish die-offs also because I just love it I love a good long exposure and for me the long exposure is anything from about half a second to infinity so I've come down to the coast and I'm going to do some long exposures why not why not [Music] you so let me talk you through what I'm doing this morning I'm in a fine art abstract long exposure possibly black-and-white mood so there's no better place to come than the wonderful Northumberland coastline now I am working on a little composition here and it basically consists of the sky to see the wave the Sun and to black rock and whilst I've got you here I'd just like to let you know that this content is sponsored by Squarespace if you need a website or slash place on top for white pieces so the idea is I have these two stones here and here and where you can see themselves in the tripod what they do is they actually help the water form a nice line which takes you into the scene now there's not much in the scene really it's just lovely silvery glistening water these fantastic storm clouds in the sky and I'm shooting with an exposure of just over half a second to really capture the movement in the water and it should make for quite a contrast the abstract textured image that's what I'm going for so it is just a case of waiting for the right wave to come time your exposure hope for the best [Music] balloony talking through my exposure right now among f-16 which is actually quite a small laxative for me what that f-16 is giving me a short period of one second with a polarizer and a three-stop ND filter and I'm getting some fantastic images here I really am let me tell you what I really really enjoy about this composition here and basically I get two different types of images one where the water rushes all the way up the beach and then receives now in these fantastic lines drawing you into the image the other things I quite like is because it's quite a steep sand bank down into the water sometimes just like now the waves come and they just sit there for a second and that forms this fantastic line of contrast which gives it a really sort of fine art feel very abstract and what you get is shape you get shapes between the flam the water in the sky and I look those clean lines and shapes [Music] so the Sun is now behind you in front of me and I am looking north along the beach where we have these fantastic storm clouds just see them over there the lovely dark sky goes out and we can see from our face and the Sun is hitting the white wash on the water creating an amazing contrast as with that a little bit mr. sphere and the fantastic leaving line of the white foam as it goes down the beach I think we're on to a winning image here such a simple image just using the elements of the water in the sky tell you what if you ever cook for photography just come down to the beach comments about what a would say is at this point it's probably doesn't collapse as long exposure photography but we also forget that we'll forget that and we're still going to be doing lots of long exposures today sort of justice [Music] so after a messy breakfast to have a look at the weather have a look at the tie table and I've ended up here Esther equals butyl base at low tide it's a massive expanse of Sun this river meanders out into the sea I started off exploring the beach looking to use the edge of the rivers or in nice clean artistic composition but unfortunately I couldn't find anything soul's headed to higher ground walking over the sand dune looking for any viewpoints and I've ended up at this old bomb shelter which is just perfect absolutely perfect with a vantage point I'm sure that's no accident the composition I have now is just amazing we have the lovely s-curve of this river that just seems to go on for miles across the beach ultimately in over the Holy Island I've got a fantastic castle I'm using a long lens 70-200 I'm probably around about often good mil there or there about now originally I was going to go quite wide and try and use the entire shape of the river but there are a few people on the beach another result was lots of footprints and lots of mess and distractions so the key is to try and eliminate that I always say look at your composition and try and eliminate whatever is that you don't like I don't like footprints I don't like people I mean I like you but I don't like not like these people in the photograph so a brief Romer composition to eliminate that fit of the beach rail the horrible mess was and actually it works really well I'd say it actually works better it's a fantastic abstract image absolutely gorgeous I'm using a 10 stop filter f11 two-minutes polarizer to stop nd graduated filter yeah just what more what more can I say so I'm going to take the shot and then I think it might be time to call it a day [Music] I think today went quite well it's interesting because you think of landscape photography as needing you know these grand vistas and magical lights and fantastic sunsets and sunrises but the truth is you don't today I had pretty poor weather and absolutely no subjects at all yet I still managed to make some really nice images obviously our subjective that's just my opinion but the truth is you just need to find shapes and patterns in the landscape and you're absolutely sorted you can make some fantastic images you don't even need the weather so it just got the shoulder really are not excuses even if it's a miserable gray day you can still get out and you can still make some images I'd like to thank Squarespace for sponsoring this channel so you don't know Squarespace are there an all-in-one platform where you go and you build
