Lance Franklin on how to brush defenders and how far he is confident kicking | Players' Lab

[Music] I'm Lance thanks for giving some information some time what are you trying to do specifically when when the balls coming down the field what are you trying to do to get your hands on that football well initially I'm not worrying about my defender too much I'm looking at the ball who's got the ball but it's sort of constant movement you've got to be on your toes not being too predictable for the defender you want the defender always looking for you the Macho and have a look at some vision here in just exactly highlight some of the point you just made then your enormous ly quick out of the blocks but you like to make contact holding that then that's the biggest thing I think for any young Ford coming through or any young kid it's so you want to make body contact to get that one or two meters if not becomes a foot race and then that's when the defender can get spoiling it talked about staying busy and this is a perfect example here you can see Tom grasses is in front of you here he's not sure which way you're going you're constantly moving there's doubt in his mind did you feel that dad can you feel that when defender stand in front of you I think sin is you can see them looking for you that's when you know okay they're looking for me bang I can get on the move you can either leave pass them or lead out of them and push off and break away what about your range I'm fascinated by how far is too far for you because yeah this one here is probably 51 52 meters south through by by 10 or so is there a spot where you say now this is just too far I probably in the past 55 usually but it's something that there's another option on they're always looking looking bored to bring others into the game but sometimes you just got to go back and have the set shot and take time off the clock and try to put it through [Music] [Applause]
