LADY DEATHWHISPER BOSS GUIDE - ICECROWN CITADEL

hey guys I'm Jordy and this is your Guide to the second encounter in icecrown Citadel the Supreme overseer of the cult of the Damned Lady Death Whisperer what is this events you dare trespass upon as hell on ground Now Lady Death whisper is the first heroic fight in ICC that you're gonna spend some time working on before you get it down I'd place it somewhere in the top half of harder fights in here so if you can get her down you've got a great shot at a big handful of other bosses as far as raid composition you're going to want to bring three tanks for this one now you might not have easy access to that third tank we used a DK with some smattering of tank gear for ours she doesn't actually hit all that hard it's just nice to have some extra stand just in case the idea is that this person needs to build Crazy threat along with one of the other tanks while your ad tank handles the extra stuff okay so Lady Death waspert is a two-phase fight the first you're looking to burn through her Mana Shield like the spell Mages can cast when you damage her she loses Mana instead of HP when she's out of Mana phase two begins during this phase she'll be spawning waves of ads that each do a specific thing that we'll go over in a second you're looking to use two tanks in this phase ideally each working to get threat on the ads while your DPS blows them up and works on her Mana Shield all right let's get into phase one's specifics first we'll start with Lady Death whisper like I said she's got that Mana Shield burn through it and empty out her Mana to end the phase she also can cast death and Decay on the ground under a random player this isn't too bad just move out of it and prevent taking any extra damage additionally she'll mind control three players every 30 to 45 seconds for 12 seconds this can be really nasty because the raid is likely a weeing down all the ads and if you're too close you can be blundered by them we'll work to Cyclone fear out and control these players somehow and doing our best not to cleave them when they're emceed similar to how we handle it on the trash in general vesax's room finally she spams shadow bolts at random people just something to heal through no big deal alright let's talk about the ads now I'm gonna get kind of specific here on what they do but just know there's only a few things you absolutely need to pay attention to and I'll go over them at the end every 45 seconds a wave of seven adds will spawn on the sides of her room three on each side and one in the back by the entrance there are two types of ads the first a cult adherent these are your Caster ads they'll cast a few things first curse of torpor this is a curse that must be dispelled as soon as you see it Mages and Druids need to Prior this it will really ruin someone's rotation or a healer's heals and should be purged immediately it can also be kicked as it's being cast so keep an eye on it second death chill bolt and death chill blast these are Big damaging spells that you should kick try to prevent as much of this damage as you can additionally they'll put up a shield called shroud of the occult that absorbs 50k damage and prevents Spell interruption so you've gotta burn through this finally they can cast dark martyrdom seemingly randomly that will cause them to explode and sacrifice themselves to damage the ray with a big blast nothing to do here but to try to tank them outside of a lot of the raid casters and healers should try to not be stacked near the mobs at any time now there's one other thing they do but we'll talk about the Fanatics first and then get back to that the Fanatics are the melee mobs and in my opinion the more dangerous of the two first they've gotten a crotic strike just something you need to tank next Shadow clip this does a good amount of damage to all players in front of the mobs so tanks need to work hard to face them away from the rain next vampiric might this increases all Damage Done by 25 and heals for 300 of their Damage Done this isn't terrible just watch the Raid when this buff goes up and have your raid work to dispel them as fast as possible to remove it and like the adherence they've got a dark martyrdom that will sacrifice themselves for a big burst of AOE not really something that can be avoided okay to complicate all this she can bring any of these mobs back from the dead increasing their powers and depending on which mob making them immune to certain types of damage the casters become immune to magical damage and must be DPS by your melee and Hunters while the melee the fnatics turn into big skeletons and lumber around and become immune to physical damage so they must be killed by your casters she can also Empower these to make them extra spooky adherence become empowered and all the spells that will start to Splash while the Fanatics become lumbering zombies called deformed Fanatics which can cause them to deal double damage while these mobs are up they must be prior targets the melee zombies are especially deadly for your tanks we had our tanks get one shot a few times when these guys hit them just try to kite them around while your casters finish the job call for specific damage Types on specific mobs and be extra careful here okay so that's phase one that seemed like a lot I know but it's actually not so bad we'll get into how exactly how to tackle all this in the walk through but the bullet points are to blow up the ads without getting cleaved interrupt spells don't let your tanks get one shot by the deformed Fanatics and stop cleaving when your friends are mind controlled now she gets low on Mana you're gonna be looking to move into phase two Lady Death Whisperer gets annoyed and starts casting interruptible frostbolts at her highest threat Target and she'll begin to be movable around the room now phase two has about half the mechanics of phase one only one side of the room will spawn ads three at a time she'll still mind control and death and Decay but a few new things are added first she'll cast a frost bolt volley every 20 seconds or so this is an instant raid wide damage that you just need to heal through and second most importantly oh so most importantly these little purple these things are called vengeful Shades they spawn at random points in the room and will Target players drifting towards them and if they reach them will explode dealing a huge amount of damage to everybody nearby and likely killing a few of you these are so so so important to avoid you will probably get most of the fight down no problem and be hard stuck on these ghosts okay finally she'll cast Touch of insignificance on her current highest threat Target this is a stacking debuff that reduces the target's threat gen by 20 up to 100 and last 30 seconds this is why we use three tanks in this fight two on her in particular in phase two your tanks will build threat and then LeapFrog over each other as they wait for their Stacks to wear off before continuing again later all right that was a lot of stuff let's get into the walkthrough on pole The Raid runs in and begins to DPS Lady Death whisperer now your goal is to funnel the ads from both sides to between the two pillars being careful not to cleave the melee with the fanatics but getting them as clumped up as you can healers stand in the back being careful not to get too close this will help pull the mobs into position using heel aggro while also being in range of the raid your two tanks each grab aside and meet in the middle and DPS begins to keep a permanent Frost trap up in the center here to help kite when necessary as the dominant mine cooldown comes up you need to call for all cleaving and AOE to stop so that you don't blunder your friends as soon as they go red Druid cycle on them we assign these and it helps keep people alive super important when you see an ad get reanimated you need to call for DPS from your physical or casters to hit it it's very important to get these dead as they're super dangerous especially if she empowers them further all right so after a few ways of these ads you should have gotten her pretty low be very careful not to push her to zero Mana until after clearing an ad wave can't afford to transition with a fresh set of ads clean them up and then call for the push into phase two okay so phase two starts you want your highest threat per second tank to begin pumping crazy threat into her as fast as possible your extras tank should be trying to keep up as best they can at some point they're going to need to overtake them and then slingshot way past to stay ahead of your DPS move her to the center of the room your ad tank should intercept any ads that come up and your DPS should pry out killing them as soon as they're able to all right so now the fun begins every 10 to 15 seconds she'll throw purple Spirit strands out from her onto the ground where three ghosts will spawn you must run away from these they are single-handedly the only reason that you will wipe in this phase this is not a DPS race you just need to avoid ghosts and you will get the kill I promise DPS keep your eyes up looking for these things healers don't tunnel frames do everything in your power to avoid these ghosts and you will get her down your tanks at some point will swap whatever tank takes over it needs to hit all their DPS cooldowns to threat hard once they've taken over that debuff will reduce your thread over time so the more you can do right away the better avoid the ghost long enough deal with the Mind controls and the ads get that tank swap mechanic down and she will fold pretty quickly congratulations okay let's talk about some tank tips in Phase One prop paladins can buff to draw some initial threat as the ads spawn but they need to be super careful of their positioning The Raid will be oriented one way so make sure that you've got the ads faced away from them so that that cleave doesn't mow anyone over and when you see the big lumbering zombie kite away from it it can one shot you with some bad RNG to avoid that in phase two our DK tank on transition did some prep to get as many icy touches ready to go so that the second she comes out from the phase he could dump a ton of threat into her it's possible to hit close to a million threat with some good room management here also in phase two if you as a tank see a ghost coming towards the boss you can move her away from it to help your melee keep dpsing but it's not your job to save them they must look around and do their best to avoid it for some healer tips phase one is pretty comfy but phase two can get quite hectic save d-sax am shadows and frost whatever for these ghosts and the frostbold mollies a poorly timed volley and a good explosion will kill anyone near it but a good cooldown can save some people and for the DPS in Phase One be sure to stop cleaving when the mind control is ready to be cast you you don't want to kill your friends and keep an eye on which ads need specific damage types it's critical to pump into the ones only you are able to because they become super dangerous with that buff and I swear to God if you get hit by a ghost I'm going to be so disappointed it's the most important mechanic of this fight just run away your parse doesn't matter for Prague just don't get hit get the loot and move on there's a lot of work to be done in this place and spending unnecessary time on this boss will just mean less time on other stuff later okay well that's it for Lady Death whisper
