There’s a reason Rolling Stone magazine gave him the title of artist of the year in 83, that reason is the 1999 album. On most days it’s my favorite album. So many great album cuts. Every track has a memorable moment you can’t wait to hear. Listen with headphones is a different experience. You’ll appreciate his brilliance even more.

Prince was at funkiest during the 1999 era and this is prized gem of that era.
I was on a huge 1999 kick about a year ago. This one ends up stuck in my head quite often.
This was never a “Song” to me, it was and is a Short Film by Prince. Close your eyes as you listen and you’ll see it!
Fun anecdote, here is a link to a 10 minute Access Hollywood interview with Jimmy Jam. The last question they ask him at about the 8 minute mark is “what is your favorite song by Prince?” ...
