there you are that's a view from the entrance of Q Musa data looking down from the Higashiyama at Kyoto the city and it's a pretty cool Street this is the ones you walk through with loads of shops gift shops to buy things lots of neat little street food and it'll take you to mean and zakah and you can walk around a very scenic paths to get to Gyan hi hey everybody welcome to Q Musa Dagh so I'm gonna take you inside and hopefully we have a strong enough signal to make this a pretty nice tour and if not you know we gave it a try thanks for joining me everybody in front of you is the way that you are going to walk when you yourself want a come to Kyoto or if you've already been here one thing you notice right away is the main temple right there is the main temple right there the house housing has been covered and the Rika they're renovating it for 50 years every 50 years they renovate kumys adara and it's just happens to be that fiftieth year so it's gonna be covered up but hey that's not gonna stop us from going in there and that doesn't change the history is a history of this place I am John who don't know this is only in Japan go and we only do live streams here alright let's go get a ticket I've got a thousand yen right here I don't even know how much it costs to get in there but 1000 yen let's make this a reality hi tamanna guys mouse i have is a my stop [Music] here's the ticket for those of you who've never seen one now you have it's thin and beautiful and it has an autumn theme to it because very soon the autumn colors we're gonna make this temple really stand out there you go cue music dad I've written on there so let's take a look and see if there's any autumn color from this side before we go in I don't see too much I think we're really early and the peak time is going to be in November around the middle of November when all of this is gonna be it just lit up like fireworks tons of color lots of orange red yellow but now it's still green and in the distance you have that very famous beautiful view of the pagoda in the woods I am sorry if it's pixelated there are a lot of people and it doesn't seem like we have the strongest signal but you know minecraft alright let's go in this is the entrance here all right it's light you just have to show him your ticket we're in look at these lovely these are lovely Japanese yukata people are people like to rent them and wear them around Kyoto for the day if you have any questions you can go ahead and try to ask me and I'll answer them about about kiyomizu-dera this is my umpteenth time here I've been here a lot the kids with the yellow hats are I believe elementary school kids on here from a trip is it better to rent or buy a yukata you know if you're gonna wear more than once come on you can buy it if you're gonna wear it two or three times especially in the summer you cut does don't really have a place in the fall unless it's really warm but it's usually for festivals people can pray here and they do and I tried not to linger to respect people's feelings these are charms that you can buy inside here but now we're inside of the main temple and it is really stunning even with the scaffolding around it it's really beautiful and you can feel the history the age of queue Musa detta going all the way back to I believe like the eighth or seventh century it's just great just imagine like the United States started as a country in in this 17th 18th century and this has been here since a thousand years before that it's like crazy to think that down there we're gonna go be going down there in a second but you can see people are taking water from the three streams and I won't be doing that but I'll be filming it it's just kind of neat to see it from this point of view and once again from the top here you can see the amazing wood frame holding up the temple on the side of the mountain it's pretty hey we're back sorry the signals going in and out so I'm outside of the temple right now it could be spiritual forces stopping the livestream from happening but this is a look out from the top of the the deck here inside of cue music data and we're gonna just take a peek down from this point here and now from here you get a nice view of the people trying all three streams coming together one for wealth one for health and one for I guess success I'm sure somebody in the in the live stream is gonna is gonna correct me on that but it's been a long time since I've been here is this one of the temples that I sort of avoid because of the crowds but there's certain times of the year as you Caroline there's certain times the year where Kim is a dead is just absolutely beautiful it's in the winter way if it snows the fall when the leaves change and in the spring when the cherry blossoms are there but other than that I usually try to avoid it I'm here just for work just to show you and for b-roll is that the seventy one thank you for the support I appreciate that in Derrick jumper thank you so much can we have some history about this temple yeah yeah you can I forget most of it though I'll look it up in a second hold on a second I did I did have some notes but I'm actually here for b-roll b-roll meaning insert shots for the main channel alright now we're back inside and I'm going to be making my way down before I do that I want to get my camera out because got to do b-roll this is part of part of the temple that you will never see up like here hey so I'm actually here to do b-roll and I'm gonna be in Kyoto just for a very short time I'm going back today after I film some night views and this area this is the bag I usually take a head of GoPro seven I also have the gh five boom this is I'm gonna be taking some b-roll with I have a seven to eight to eighteen lens and a twelve to thirty two millimeter lens and I just need to get like 15 seconds in 15 seconds their UI I'll pick you up all right let's go let's go back to that view I want to get just a quick view from the top here there you are now there's a lot of kids check it out look at all these kids so while I take b-roll you guys can look to at the beautiful view [Music] all right check it out just give me the deal the only I'm not filming [Music] [Music] - God doctor got a pillow pillow pillow [Music] this one with kids [Music] Wow that's a kiss it dead of winter 321 I'll read that in a second Oh what you don't know any on their nanny cam yoga can oh oh no she Wow Jessica Koga ah nice indeed ah dinner whoa they know where I used to live haha sketchy stuff Wow okay now in the back side here alright I'll check it out these are really cute a lot of people have put their their wishes on the back of these I like the patterns nice little view it's a dead of winter 3:21 rights can't wait for you to start filming on your fancy new iPhone I know it's gonna be soon I just watch this run from comparison videos and the excess max have the best video quality of them all I did I know I got the regular one because I want to go this way because I want to get one shot of the view I got the regular iPhone because I wanted it a smaller size it'sit's not as heavy on the gimbal alright guys here's one view on the side check it out if you've been accusing data you're like going yeah I know that place I've been there I've walked up those steps it's pretty cool alright I'm sweating it's hot it's really hot here I need a ride - alright we're gonna go to a point where you get a beautiful view looking back at you Musa data and that's sort of what I wanted and then I'm gonna be getting out of here but until then let's walk along in front with these school kids from Yoko Ono see they're all from the same place well they learn about the history we're getting for the we're going gunning for the view oh it's so bright [Music] so right there that deck is where you get really nice views looking back towards the city of Kyoto that includes cue music edit and in fact if you go in Google cue music data kiyomizu-dera you're going to get this view and that's what that's one of the things I'm here to take b-roll of man it's really bright I didn't time this right but maybe from this corner I'll be able to get a nice view maybe not there's a tree in the way there you go check it out that's why I'm here to get this view looking back at the city it's pretty nice huh it's pretty nice it's a lot of people are asking about the history I have some notes somewhere but not on me right now hold on but you can see these despite having the canopy over it it's still really striking isn't it even maybe a little bit more so [Music] we pan over to the left here you can see kyoto tower in the distance kyoto tower is i made a video on it a couple of weeks ago kind of asking if it's worth it and that's gonna be up to you guys alright what I can tell you about kiyomi's our data it's really hot here it's really hot here I'm waiting for the kids to get to get out of here so we get better access it's there really a lot of kids in front here waiting this is one of the reasons why kiyomizu-dera is like hard alright there they go cue music daddy is a temple not a shrine so temples are from a Buddhist origin not of Shinto so that's that's really important to know and officially its old Tao asan kiyomizu-dera that's the full name of kiyomizu-dera it's in Eastern Kyoto which is Higashiyama and yes it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site it was completed in the year 778 778 of the 8th century just crazy yeah it's got a lot of history it hasn't really changed much over the years and that's why every 50 years they do this they cover it up and do some renovations let's see here that's the main hall and it's and it's being completed and and down there where we're gonna be going it's again you can drink from the water of three different rivers that got combined right here does can i still want five children yes she does and I'm cool with that after she has after we have one then we'll see if she wants another yeah I'm taking it one at a time there you go this is the view if you're watching this live it's a really spectacular the London the Sun is just filtering through it's making it really bright for you but it's this is one one way to see it I guess that you might not have seen before so I'm gonna move over to the left now and we're gonna end the live stream down at the water because I got a move to film some more b-roll down in beyond the beautiful sounds of construction hey guys can you guys you mind waiting right here while I take some b-roll just wait right there that's an awful view I hold on watch that all right I did it that wasn't so bad was it ah yeah Trek Chris you know thanks for asking about Cana I haven't seen her that much I just got back from from till toady the other day and then Here I am again on the road so I'll be back tonight I owe her a date or two I like the construction when they put these railings here they always have some kind of cute end to it this one has a very polite cute Japanese love and Lady bowing to us and there's two of them she's got a twin over there it's one of the little aspects of Japanese construction not only are they fast but they're they're very good at it aha now this view is really nice here check it out now we're looking back and I'm also taking b-roll with the gh 5 here I'm gonna have to edit out the nice lovely sound of the construction peace may peace be with you or not all right I got my b-roll now we're yeah so you can actually do this temple really fast if you want to this is the way I'd go shopping tuned this is why my wife gets upset after 30 minutes I just keep walking and she gets upset because I want to shop and I said this is shopping that's what those sofas are foreign women shops oh wow that's beautiful check this out looking back between the flowers oh man that's nice huh that's nice and I soak this up for a minute again this is from the Year 778 crazy this is really beautiful this is the view that I think that everyone wants to see I'm gonna try to capture this okay biro biro biro you can never have enough b-roll more b-roll b-roll for insert shots this is a nice path to walk down the hill a little bit and then I gotta go grab a cab don't want to be late late for the meeting for an interview takes me about 30 minutes to get to Gian from here it's always better to be early than late and it's always nice to walk behind to pretty girls wearing a yukata I hope that the signal is doing okay and you guys are watching this in HD because you know it's just better that way I'm gonna go round him hey turbo turbo oh these are the girls from the entrance we're on the same path so are you all doing how're you all doing out there it's pretty nice fresh air up here in Higashiyama again the ticket used to be a lot more expensive I think it's four hundred yen right now which I thought was cheap two hundred yen for kids usually it was it was seven hundred yen last time I was here alright we've just taken a turn we're going back down now towards towards the streams the three streams and you guys are watching kiyomizu-dera live kiyomizu-dera is one of the most crowded yet most beautiful yet oldest yet must visit places in kyoto and you can do it in 15 minutes if you really go fast but i think it's good to take your time one reason I'm going fast is so that you get just an overview and when you do come you'll know kind of what to expect yeah it'll help you plan your trip a little bit better so you know how much time you need oh this is interesting so they they didn't have this before they've set up a path for people with wheelchairs so you can go to the left of you have wheelchairs but if you have a wheelchair you can't go this way so we're gonna go the walking route because we can walk and we should keep it open for those with wheelchairs I didn't know that that's interesting all right in the top of your screen now you can see key Musa dead of the main hall main hall an imposing structure it's just massive and from down here it's even more crazy-looking I will not be drinking from the water I've drank from it I have my health and I have my wealth I don't need anymore well I don't have my wealth but I had some health oh and wisdom was the other one I lack that I could use a little bit more wisdom maybe I should drink take a gallon of that home but those are the three streams health wealth and wisdom I believe even the restrooms look pretty cool that's a toilet right there the Shogun's old toilet maybe making it up oh look you can see the leaves are just starting to turn you see that a little bit of red tinge to it it's gonna be a little little ways before they start to really change so this is new last time I was here I don't remember these tables here where you can get a cup of tea and just chillax on a two-on-two tatami mats it's kind of neat see the prices real quick okay so tofu sets 800 yes it's reasonable kitsune who don't at 700 this about six dollars 100 yen is about one dollar let's just say and there's the the matcha and o'hagi set that looks good it's about six fifty seven dollars for that and you can't take it out just so you know can't take it out good job Wow look at the people up there looking at us we were there ten minutes ago all right here we are the three streams which do you choose health wealth or wisdom or all three I guess you can I guess you can take all three oh I I got to change the battery so while I do that you guys you guys sit right here okay stay right there all right battery changed you guys are kind of short we're gonna have to give it get you a bigger tripod all right I'm not filming let's get let's get about 10 seconds of a video of this so you can get a clear shot through that's better okay I'm gonna zoom in see if I can get a shot of somebody with the cup taking it I forgot the push record next next up all right that's enough I think I got the shot you got to get the shot so there you go there's right behind me on the left side is where people will get the three streams health wealth and wisdom and I always go for wisdom well I go for help wealth is the last thing I need wealth creates other problems I met I met a wealthy person once said it's really hard taxes people always want your money be happy with what you have don't try to wish for too much be careful what you wish for all right so let's look mo money mo problems that's one way to look at it that might be the only way to look at it so this is a really beautiful shot of like the the wooden structure underneath there let's see okay oh man get the shot get the shot you hear the banging of the hammers construction going on it's not that peaceful maybe that's why they lowered the price on a ticket it's a four hundred yen or about $3.75 to get in here all right we're on the way out guys that was pretty much it I do like these walls and they're very castle esque if you take a look at some of the castles around Japan you'll see these beautiful walls and there's a tree on the top of that one that's really nice check it out that's really nice here's another little teahouse here oh my Zak amazake this they're serving which is a kind of like Sakae but it's a sweet rice drink I love amazake especially in the winter especially in the winter but not not now I following these ladies out get back to the shopping street and then we got to go straight to a taxi you get a move on now if you're in Kyoto and you're visiting you're asking yourself like how do you get around the answer is bus one of the two subway lines which is really not a lot and you can do what I do which is usually I grab taxis because the distances aren't usually too far and the distances aren't usually too far apart and and it cost you maybe about $25 or $30 depending on how much you want to cover and if you compare that to the time you save waiting for the buses and the frustration of being standing on crowded buses well it they stopped suddenly it's worth taking a taxi especially if you have a family if you have more than three or four people taxis are worth it oh three people or four people if you're by yourself like today you do it because you have to so I'm going to exit and then go straight to the hexie but I will take you with me because I love you guys down the shopping street so we can show that together I've just signals doing good there's the entrance again we've made a full circle and you're gonna see a lot of people where you got does none of our Japanese Japanese are not wear yukata in August and October they're from China or Taiwan I have to be careful I don't know the difference between Mandarin and Cantonese so you have to be careful when you say China oh there's a nice group photo check it out Wow lots of people aren't there this is what you can expect when you come to QM easy data a madhouse all right I'm gonna say goodbye to key music data behind me check it out I'm gonna turn the wide-angle lens the other way around so you can see the shopping street in full wide all right hold on a second there you go give me a second what do you think it's pretty cool when it's wide wide open we're on our way down a lot of people shouting hi does all that's name I say people dressed up and yukatas a lot of people eating ice cream well there's some Green Team green tea bomb cake matcha flavored gotta love that it's always kind of neat to walk down this street they've really done a great job renovating it 20 years ago not nearly as nice as it is now it was kind of run-down but you know when you have an influx of tourism that like we've had for the last 70 years or so since the 20 2011 great - hooker earthquake tourism died and then was around 2013 that it really started to boom now you can see tons and tons of people straight ahead it's just such a crowd you see that I'm gonna get some b-roll of this Wow this one guy look like Larry David I thought that was Larry David that's not Larry David here taking a picture of that so there's two tourists are from China and they're say like of them of the Western guy who's taking pictures of them thinking I wonder if he thought we were Japanese that's so funny so the tourists the guy look like Larry David was taking a hardcore picture without asking just like one meter away focused on those two people walking and they're from China Just Cause plan I love that I did I did get a chance to meet a nice guy when I was walking up here stopped and took a picture so a lot of people are watching this show and that makes me really happy [Music] all right let's get to a taxi yeah we're going beast mode right now lots of university students I did a live stream here last year when the new Starbucks when the Starbucks at me nanaka opened up it was really beautiful this is a pretty nice walking experience I love this walk in fact I could do a live stream just walking this and just what you see left and right with with the wide angle is just it's it really is incredible I look at all the flavors of ice cream that's some crazy it's about three dollars and 25 cents for one though in the middle is matcha very delicious look at that orderly lines with the flag down there on the corner is Nina and Zeca you can see it's a really beautiful really beautiful alleyway I could walk it but I'm kind of in a hurry I don't know I should I taxi it or walk it it's hard to say [Music] how much time do I have [Music] all right I got 12 minutes maybe it's faster to walk it this is such a beautiful place here and this is a great place this is where hey Jason thank you love your work John I recently joined patreon hey and I would encourage others to join
