what uh what's kind of the starting opportunity which is tonight but it sounds like probably moving forward what does that do for you right now uh pretty much you just helped me a lot i just be on the floor staff all the stars uh just helped me a lot how to move without the ball i get the easy bucket uh and just bringing energy on the table what in that group changes for you when you are out there with steph and kind of the way that that unit plays together uh i don't look too much to like score because it's it's natural it's going to be natural especially being on the floor stiff a lot of people gonna dab with him and you're gonna stay wide open so they just help you to get easy backing but most of the time when i'm on the floor those type of people on the same group just come out they play hard because i'm the youngest person out there so if i don't bring energy the oh it's not gonna bring energy so i gotta be the only one to bring more energy you grab 10 rebounds tonight and had your first double double um was rebounding kind of a big emphasis for you tonight especially sharing the court with stephen clay uh i have been working on my rebounds lately uh because in the beginning of the season i wasn't really trying to grab a lot of rebound and i saw some places where coach was kind of he wasn't really my bad it just said a couple things that i gotta rebound more so especially go on the floor out there i spoke to andre most of the time tell me don't matter i'm so athletic compared to everybody else whenever i see that ball just go chasing yeah you talk about rebounds are you is it about boxing out or is it just about going after the ball i'll say most of the time boxing now uh boxing now you don't mind if you don't get it as long as your box out your teammate gonna get it uh kerr said before the game that he told you would you're playing with stephen clay you better run or you're never gonna touch the ball with those guys is that what it's like that you're trying to just get down the court because you know the defense is going to be running towards them uh he plays both ways uh first of all he told me uh i'm gonna play with those guys though they're gonna shoot the ball every time so i'm not going to be able to touch the ball most of the time but all i got to do just run the floor uh be in the right position where the ball gonna make me dead my score easily and i think i did that most of the part and i got a couple biking along those lines i know running the court has been a big emphasis for you guys especially over this you know last couple games on the road trip did you get any feedback on that in those terms tonight uh from coach i haven't really spoke to kaichi but just from a lot of people on the staff uh people that work here like gemma uh they always come up to me even if coach don't tell me uh whenever i'm not running or i'm running they're gonna come up to me and tell me don't great you're not doing great so just keep up with me you were in foul trouble for for parts of the night you could tell right there a little frustrated um what'd you learn from just uh uh from what i heard from a couple of my vets you know i'm always gonna get those type of files especially me being a rookie i even if i don't file but to see me trying to reach for a little bit or just be in a situation where i don't file that this film called the file so you just learn lesson uh i got to be smart on the floor especially coming on the game especially being a rookie if i fall most of the time i'm gonna come right out so i just gotta learn today was my learning lesson and i'm gonna do better next time what is the challenge of defending physically like they want you to but not following uh it's been a big challenge uh i feel like for the most of the power i've done great and i think that's what they need me to do every single night uh pull brazier on the ball handling or the star and i've been doing that for the most of the time and i feel like we have we had a type of success with that taking a step back how do you feel in terms of comfort in terms of just getting up to speed compared to day one early this season i feel more comfortable i feel like i'm at the place where i want to be especially being a rookie on this team i'm at the place where i don't got to do too much but i still contribute anytime they need me to do something where do you feel like you've made the biggest strides uh just understanding where to be on the floor most of the time uh especially like you guys know around the floor every single time and playing hard jonathan when when they're saying run the floor run the floor you've you've been playing basketball since you were a kid did you realize you weren't running the floor when you look at film do you see what they're talking about when when you aren't running the floor yeah i saw a couple of films uh third place is where i run but i can't run faster than that and i feel like i've been working or not and we have a lot of success of me around the floor even if i don't get to score it's going to open up somebody else so i've been watching a couple films and i feel like there is sometimes i don't run as hard as i can so it's just a matter of you telling remembering it while you're on the court to just run man it's a it's a thing to me right now uh i know anytime i step on the floor i just gotta play hard and run hard so it's something that's i'm not working on anymore that i i know that every time i step on the floor something i gotta do you
