hey when he got done do you want coming up on different pioneer makes the best log homes on earth they construct each one on site take them apart ship them around the world and rebuild them wherever the client won they are Timber kids hey Joel better hey how's that house coming for Jack and Tracy for Wisconsin it was going top-notch until our guy on the ground gave me a bunch of newbies to home [Music] let's unload the truck we'll hook these three pose first I'm in the small farming community of plain Wisconsin to set up a home on five hundred acres of private land yeah nice to meet you too I'm here with pioneers Midwestern Rep John lijinsky to build Tracy and her family a 4,000 square foot Alamo design with four bedrooms three and a half bathrooms and an impressive prowl at the front of the house I like the new neighbors my husband and I were really looking for a way to get closer to nature we came across this property and just fell in love and we got three young kids that want to play and get dirty and yeah in his room so we're very excited to be out here when we started thinking about what to build we figured the only option was a log house because it fits so perfectly in nature hey when he got John do you want bring me right back here you guys raise your hand so he knows what's going to you so you get B cornered already across suspect pool okay other than John everyone on this crew is new to log home building which means extra work for me to stay on top of them and an extra big test on my patience hey Mike yep that flat should be level down a hook that one straight up next time sorry you're supposed to know better this is like teaching log slinging 101 that's the whole bottom round right there that one doesn't look great to me where's your strap back in always look at the leather on there yeah okay guys let's get this post up hey how do you look there I need to go to you okay so we got a beat yours over touch more hey John yeah give me an I'm gonna pull this a hair this way you get that post in there it's day one in plain Wisconsin and we're installing posts for an angled prowl at the front of the house you want me to tap it I'll pull it and you can tell what you need I don't think he even moved are you looking there my friend yeah we're down oh yeah that's good not bad for a rookie fortunately my team of greenhorns is finally getting the hang of things all right let's hook that up the same thing the biggest challenge with the prow is we can't connect it to the rest of the house until the header beam during place I'm the dumb in yeah no no thanks so we got to make sure all our measurements are dead-on because we won't be able to make adjustments later a good half inch yet fry out these edges first a bit under that board gotta go quarter in so move it all guys move in pair though good very very close so I think we gotta bring this and in though whenever you move one thing you throw something else out of whack in this case the far right post I guess is gonna work now you can crank that crap out of her I'm counting on the ratchet strap to pull it in a half inch to the left she's getting pretty tight oh thanks oh yeah we're still winning Olli [Music] she get in pretty tight nope we're building a home for our client Tracy and plane Wisconsin and we got a shift one of the Proust's to the left by half an inch without moving the others he's a pounder oh yeah we're still weighing this post isn't budging and I'm fast straying out of options Olli who knows how to drive that forklift gonna drive it around and it's give her a little push time for some metal muscle you can just come in this way and then lean lean against all right they're a little more we still need to move the post by half an inch to line it up with the others that's good they're good for the donut oh yeah right up here here you go enjoy him thank you you got to love being paid in Donuts [Music] one truck down two to go that's the warm-up track we're more than halfway through day one in Wisconsin and we've already got most the walls up on the main level you put that beam across right now good yeah we're landing headers which frame the huge windows at the prow of the house where do you like that one what is that one that's in the front again in the window it is in the Lynda oh I forgot to put in the window post before we landed the header lift that header beam after all hey you got a nick it's gonna let loose on you push it into that slot you see us what Tim's gonna push it back okay we're gonna go down man yeah that's good it wasn't ideal but we got it in there just a few logs left and the prowl is complete there should be a big fat post in there yeah gonna hook that up put it right on the floor here that goes right up on the deck it's bright and sunny on the morning of day 2 and plane Wisconsin and despite a few hiccups we're still on schedule whole way in there our third and final truck has arrived right on time with the logs for our roof system if we get them up a foot or two we might have just enough to get over the hump okay that locks right in there in since we can't budge him backwards our only choice is to try the line up the trailer with the cab by pulling them forward and further into the mud we've straightened out the trailer but now the drivers got a floor in Reverse to reach the house he's not stopping guys so much TRUCKING right there that's matter okay I call that truckin cuz he just gunned it and just jammed it up the hill there's nothing in his way this is perfect he's a good driver let's get those floor joists off the truck but lost time means now we have to get truckin what's next all right in the middle hey watch yourself there Sammy the Danes bazzill we're getting close to the end of day two building Tracy's new home and plane Wisconsin and we're lining the truss over the great room don't stand under you see a letter on the end hey the hanging trust is one of pioneers signature features this right way this one hangs over the great room and it's 4,000 square foot four-bedroom alamo style log home [Music] okay hold on done hold on how are ya yeah there you go what a beauty good last log there we go looks like a good hook this is the last of our four rich beams and it's going right over the front of the house you can grab that a just outer each hey Donny see where you got to go yep this ridge beam is tricky to land because it needs to connect with three posts below about an inch away from the hole right here so we got to go over that way with post post it's come out yeah so John here to hop down here kick pull his brace by loosening the brace we can adjust the position of the post and line it up better with the incoming ridge beam and I'll give it a little push put your hammer in there that's longer yeah what do you need there ready the beam is lining up perfectly with the dowels on two posts but the third one has proven to be trouble or yeah how much more F it we need the crane the cranes gonna lift the beam a little so we can take another run at this boom up perfect but I want to make sure the other two Devils don't pop out of position what do you need that ready we need the crane to go down ain't coming down we're in plain Wisconsin landing the final ridge beam on three posts crap the crane dropped the beam too quickly and now it's jammed on one of the dowels just sitting on the back edge of the hole I got it we got to go way over here okay done yeah up a little bit okay we need to lift the beam again so we can free it from the dowel down a little bit good job you guys we had challenges on this build right to the bitter end but I know we created an amazing house for our client Tracy you walk in the front door and look what you see this is unbelievable just breathtaking this house it's just magical you walk in and you're just so overwhelmed by the character of the logs it's like a work of art really lugger let's check out your kitchen great my favorite room yeah so this is cool hey it's beautiful this is a surprise I didn't know you guys were gonna put this in this is so great put some stools around it and that's gonna be wonderful your cabinets wraparound I'm actually not gonna do that first because I want to look at the logs all day so it's gonna be beautiful and this window is huge I love it this is where your sink is right things gonna be here yep all the windows have a great view of greenery let's check out your great room oh wow this trust really just captivates you I love the twist in the bottom log there every one of those little pimple marks is done by hand with a little chisel the detail in your carvings are unreal yeah that's all it done behind - and then you got a beautiful view out here unbelievable that's why we wanted the prow is just to be able to really take in 180 degree view great family memories multi-generational memories this is gonna be a beautiful special place for all of us [Music] when you walk into the home one of my favorite features is gonna be the staircase this amazing unique post here which is just beautiful with all these knots that it has and then as you walk further into the home you start to walk into our beautiful great room which you get overwhelmed by the scenery and the wall of windows right above us is this gorgeous truss which i think is my favorite feature of this home you can see the beautiful twists in it the beautiful red color in it and the beautiful knots in it as well and if you walk a little further then you capture our view in all of our windows and then you come upstairs and you get to the beautiful loft area which overlooks our great room and it's really a great spot to look at this trust and more detail this house is gonna serve as a retreat for me and my family to get away my husband can hunt my kids can run in play and it'll be great to come back to this home together for meals and just enjoying what's around us [Music]
