I'm still not over Gigi's death. Just a few months before her death, we were laughing about Kobe teaching her basketball from the sidelines of a game. She was just a kid who loved to hoop.

I can't imagine Kobe's last moments knowing that the child he loved so much was going to die.

Whenever some random highlight or hoops video comes on and he's in it I still feel a little uncomfortable, like I am watching a ghost or have to again face the reality that he's gone.

Kobe and I are the same age, and it was actually him getting drafted out of highschool that helped me get my shit together. I will always remember thinking "man this guy is in the NBA and I had to take summer courses just to make it to graduation". It was a privilege to watch his entire career and he was someone who I felt was always going to be there, an unrelenting force in modern life. And just like that, he's gone.

We are so robbed of all the potential that was left. When you compound that with the intensity of the tragedy overall, those kids and families, it's such an overwhelmingly sad loss. Appreciate all of your inspiration Mamba.
