KNIPEX EDC Essentials - What's in your pocket?

what's good guys welcome back to the channel so today we're going to be running through some nippex edc everyday carry sort of items so they're all you know real diddy little small tools that are um yeah super clutch they come in real handy some quite niche sort of uses and purposes but yeah i just thought i'd pick my favorites the stuff that i actually use day to day and yeah just have a little talk about those before we get into these tools if you haven't already please like subscribe and hit that bell button yeah let's uh let's run the intro [Music] so i'm going to start over here with the double jointed access key so this is just dead handy for getting into cabinets control panels anything like that and what i love is that it's super compact it can fold up really really small as well so it can fit in your pocket fitting on those you know those tiny little pockets in a tool bag and then you can also sort of lock it in place um to get some purchase on it to twist it like so again lock it so you've got it flat and then yeah just spin these around to you know utilize whatever key you need to so yeah super super handy and just a real nice little tool um and compact compared to other access keys on the market next up the nippex knife so this is a staple of the knipex range very very popular one of our best sellers just because it's a simple tool it's a simple knife so yeah nice sharp blade there you've got the strip in sort of notch there too and it is capable of cutting cables as well so you just fold it back on itself drop the cables in there and sort of squeeze it and cut through cables you've got the diamond sort of hole in the blade which is a really really nice touch it's just on brand as well and then you've got the little sort of loop there as well so you can put a lanyard through it tether it um quite easily which is which is nice then we've got the insulated pliers so i actually like these more because i'm just obsessed with anything dipped in insulation but these are dead handy for like the little dill switches on the back of like uh fire alarm call points and and electronics and stuff like that obviously they're insulated so you you know you haven't got to worry about shorting anything out at a low voltage level um i'd be worried if you were doing anything um anything live with these where you was relying on it anyway but yeah it's a nice touch they feel nice and yeah just great for any sort of fiddly stuff i've used it quite commonly for when you undo the screws and accessories too much and the screws sort of falls into the hole and you can't get it out so yeah you can sort of drop these in pick it out and yeah get you out of that problem but super handy and again super compact next up and probably my most used tool out of all of these maybe the step cuts but yeah maybe these these are the super snips so these are the vde version but they come you know just in the normal sort of blue and red handles too and these are just some little sort of side cutters they're great for like data cables smaller wires but what they're also good for is cutting tie wraps flush you can literally just cut a tie wrap you know completely flush and anyone who's done a lot of work on cable tray and stuff like that knows that if you cut tie wraps with a nice jagged blade like that you can leave a real sharp edge which you can then cut yourself on i've got scars all up my arm from when you're working on tray you move your arm along a tie wrap and you cut yourself open so these are just a way of alleviating that problem too you can cut them super flush look after the next guy come in behind you and years to come and just leave a nicer finish on some jobs i know that you know tie wraps that jagged will actually get snagged that's the sort of stuff they look out for so a little tool like this will allow you to easily do that instead of trying to use a knife or a stanley blade or something to get them flush you can just use a little dedicated tool and get the job done and like i say great for making off like data cat6ns and stuff like that too so yeah definitely an essential for any electrical tool bag here we have the pliers wrench xs so the pliers wrench is probably one of my most favorite nip x tools uh in the price range it's not like a cable cutter or something and that's just because those smooth jaws you can do up nuts bolts glands anything like that and you're just not going to chew it up or damage it like a pair of cobras would what they've done here though is they've really minimized it into a tiny little form factor so the excess sort of form factor means that you know this can fit in the pocket inside your pocket in your jeans you know it's super compact and super lightweight and what this is great for is just all those little tricky sort of nuts and bolts so like outside lights have those tiny little nuts that you always drop and lose and again you don't want to chew them up especially an expensive decorative fitting so you can just get these in there tighten it up they're also great for getting into tight spaces so behind you know bus bars and stuff like that in switch gear you can get in there real tight and obviously do what you need to do without yeah stressing out too much and flapping so yeah nice little nifty edc and uh yeah like i say one of my favorite pliers in general not necessarily in this size but the the pliers wrench is one of my favorite pliers from the nippex range here we have the step cut so i actually run the vde version of these but they're quite bulky they've got the you know the big vde handles um as these are just the dipped insulated version so again super compact sort of you know insulation on on the handles they're not you know too chunky and yeah just real small they feel really nice in the hands the step cuts if you don't know about them are great for cutting all sorts of cable they've got this unique sort of jaw design which means that they can you know chomp through flex without crushing it but they're just super sharp they'll do tails like 25 mil tails stuff like that they're just a little beast of a set of cutters and they put a lot bigger cutters to shame as well so yeah an essential and the fact that they come this compact dipped insulation um yeah it's nice and definitely my recommended everyday car the step cuts finally we have the cobras this is the one two five version they do come in an xs version however i've got them and i i've rarely used them but the one two fives are just that little bit bigger to get you know your hand around them and use for the jobs i would use a cobra for and yeah i just think this this size excels a bit better than the xs is obviously that's going to suit your requirements on an electrician but yeah depending on what you do you know the excess the 100 mil cobras might be better but yeah i just like these ones it's because you can use them for like little glands and stuff like that stuff you're not worried about chewing up um dismantling bits of plastic and stuff like that the big cobras are great but like i say you know they're 250 mil long they're massive so these come in at half the size super compact and of course you can chuck them in your pocket chuck them you know on your inside pocket your jacket or something like that and yeah they're not going to take up too much space which was the the idea with all of these tools they're compact tiny little things you can fit in your pocket you could fit you know in a little pouch or a little edc wallet or something like that and they'll get you out of a tight spot but yeah the cobra one two fives are yeah my go-to small pliers set so that's a brief overview over some essential edc items from nipex nippex have a vast range of tools like this pliers cutters in all sorts of shapes and sizes we're going through the super small ones today but i mean some of these cobras and stuff that go
