Kitchen Remodel TOUR! Organizing and Decorating Ideas For A Brighter Space!

hello today I'm going to walk you through how I organize and decorated my new kitchen remodel yes this was a test of our patients but I have to say I very much love the way it turned out I am super super happy let me show you how I organize it this is my new kitchen table you guys can see it turned out gorgeous mom made this table runner out of what was going to be the curtain material and if you guys remember at the garage sale I got this material for a dollar and then I also got this little caddy for a dollar at a garage sale so this is how I keep everything organized just pull it off when we need to do cards or whatever these chairs I got in Colorado before removed if you guys remember they were ten dollars each and so I kept them I did put a new coat of paint on the legs so that I have a new to me kitchen table and chairs okay so this here that was supposed to be the microwave cabinet this crazy cabinet was the biggest pain but I absolutely love it now that it's done so all this stuff is my great grandma's things that she had in her house in her kitchen all of these are hers my mom came in and saw and she said oh I remember those I think this here is a nut grinder I think that's what that is I don't know somebody tell me if that's what it is but I'm pretty sure that's what that was was in that grinder and then here is a hanky that her brother sent her after World War II he was still over there for a little bit and she said to him that those are her gloves and her Bible and her glasses and then up here is her daughter my grandma's recipe card collection I got that when she moved out of her house all right then over here I've had this little picture I think I got it for a quarter summer I don't know why it's hanging crooked but anyway I got that little picture I think it was a quarter then if you guys remember I got this cute little stand for three dollars at the restore when I first started my Remodel and a viewer sent me this card and I've just always loved it I don't have things with my name because my name's so weird so I just like things with my name okay so now we're going to come down to this drawer so I've got my Salad Shooter and my Chopper there down here I have my little waffle maker my sandwich maker my big waffle maker I have my Chopper although I never use this so I think I'm gonna get rid of that and then Mike's little heat pack when he goes to the library to eat lunch and our blender are all in there [Music] then up here I have nothing oh my honey my sugar cinnamon and sugar our breads leftover cookies and a few mixing bowls I don't know what I'm gonna put up there yet but I'm sure I'll find something then we had this hole in the corner over here that we had to fill because we didn't have enough cabinets contractors made me this cute little cabinet so I use this to store my dining on a dime cookbooks guys 25 off right now the link is in the description below then remember this cute little teapot I got for five dollars at the restore a few months ago at the beginning of our remodel really like that foreign now I said we don't have any spices and I have been made a liar when I went back in I realized I've collected all these spices from recipe testing and stuff like that so I'm going to be using up a lot of these spices and not refilling them but I've got extra spice jars here like I store my cilantro my dried cilantro like that because we use a lot of it so I'm going to be using up all of these extra mixing bowls believe it or not I do use all these mixing bowls and our popcorn popper there then down here my Home Comfort sign that was my Grandma's at her house and she let me have that I really like it and some old mixing bowls I found at a yard sale for a dollar then a painting that I did I just have that there temporarily I don't know this was my grandpa's this is my grandpa's tea mug when he was in Puerto Rico I think and he would fill this with tea he was in the military and he would fill this with tea and when he was doing his mechanicing on the huge military airplanes that's what he would drink so okay then on the counter I have just a ball that I liked from a garage sale for a dollar that I keep all the fruit in and I found remember this cute little thing I found at a yard sale not too long ago so I decided to put that there and this cute little thing I think it was a dollar two of course I gotta have some gnomes because they're just too cute [Music] okay then we're gonna come down here and under the microwave this is where we had a big hole because if you guys remember we had double ovens in the corner before so Mom made this really cute curtain out of the curtain material that I thought I was going to be using for my window but I decided to use it here and then underneath here I store all my pots and pans and my cooling racks and then down here I've got all my parchment paper on the bottom and all of my baking sheets [Music] thank you and then over here I have all of my more spices that made me a complete and total liar what'd you say about spices I keep saying we only have like 10 spices we ever use but normally here these are all the spices that I normally ice at Hobby Lobby I got the labels on Amazon I will link those in the description below and those are like I don't know six or ten dollars they weren't very much and so then I used those labels and I just think those are cute now these are all the spices that I use on a regular basis and even these here like all of these I use the deal but all of these here and basil so actually these six are the ones that I only use let me test on this later yeah but everything else is just from recipe testing or that kind of thing or extras all the bottom row is extras so yeah just get that used up foreign now for the stove I just keep my pepper grinder and my salt actually this is kind of a Nifty tip that I've never seen anybody do but I mix I mix my salt and pepper together and then I don't have to have two grinders and then this is just regular salt we use garlic powder every day Mike uses it 10 times a day so I just leave it sitting on there and then this is our seasoned salt the recipe is in our dining cookbook the link is in the description below if you want the recipe for that and this was my great grandma's salt shakers the same great grandma that had the other stuff on the cabinet [Music] then down in the bottom here I have all of my baking pans I got these oven bags for free and I need to actually use them up but I keep forgetting and so this is where all my baking and bread pans are up here had another hole cabinet so they built me this little cubby for my cutting boards they did a great job on that one and then here I've got my extra salt stored and our oatmeal popcorn grits my Millet I love Millet because I'm gluten free and then cooking sprays this is the one I got for a dollar at a garage sale so when this is up I'm gonna be using this one exclusively this is the refillable one it's really nice I'll link it in the description below Mike's olive oil I don't really like olive oil but Mike loves to use it so we have two different oils that's why we have a couple different ones and then coconut oil for popcorn and that kind of thing and then all of my extra twist ties [Music] then down here we have the air fryer which we use every day we have toothpicks in here just because I didn't have anywhere else to put it and I have all of my um thermometer hot pot my scraper for my stove if I get something stuck on there and right now I have extra containers until I get these filled I'm not quite sure what I'm gonna fill those with yet then I have my muffin tins and my silicone tins and my my microwave bacon um cooker there and then down here is where I keep all of my lids for my pants [Music] so then on top I have my bread box that I got for a dollar at a garage sale a couple weeks ago and I got those mason jars for 25 cents and that candle is from our wedding we used it to burn that we never did drink that stuff did we I think we just poured it out so use the candle then my cute little box that I got at the restore for five dollars a few weeks ago and my cute little egg baskets for I think I paid a dollar for all three of them a couple weeks ago then I did buy the bird house and birds brand new at Hobby Lobby for ten dollars I really liked it and it fit perfectly so got that up there I will change that out seasonally then on this side I got that pot I think for four dollars but I wanted it for that specific spot so it fit perfectly so I paid a little more for that then on top of the refrigerator I got the big pan I was gonna use it for gardening but I really liked it so I thought well maybe I'll use it in the house so I got the pan for four or five dollars and the flowers all for a dollar that little fan I got for 15 bucks if you remember at a garage sale and then the really cool drink dispenser uh I think was free if I remember right [Music] all right and then on the side of the refrigerator I don't have it filled yet but this was a piece of construction foam left over where we had to fill in with construction foam so I had them cut down this was the old door jamb so they cut me a frame it for that and then I'm going to use this as a bulletin board [Music] then I got my great grandma's doily she made that's a trivet and so I hung that up there I really like it then if you guys remember I got these pictures at a yard sale a couple weeks ago I just think they're the cool so I paid a dollar for those really like them then on this side up top those are my great grandmas on my dad's side ball jars and I don't know where I got the milk thing from and then these are also my great grandma's vases and my encyclopedia the culinary arts encyclopedia cookbook I don't know where I got that maybe Mom I don't know but I love that cookbook it's the coolest cookbook then in here I have all of my cups and mugs up here we'll go down to the counter I got those jars for a dollar a dollar fifty each I can't remember or all three of them I can't remember it's like a dollar fifty or something for I think it was all three of them and then that was my grandma's picture and then that on my dad's side and then my mom's side she had those matches all the time hanging up then that's my tea sweetener and my little spoons for my tea then I have the Encyclopedia of cooking number two because so as I'm waiting for my tea to boil I have been actually looking through this while I'm waiting for my tea to boil looking at all the cool old recipes I think it would be so cool to cook some of these recipes like fish Mulligan what in the world is fish Mulligan fish Mulligan it's got fish potatoes onions hot water uncooked rice Peppers bacon pork parsley salt and pepper actually that might be pretty good oh my goodness wait a minute does it have dairy in it oh I could eat that oh I'm gonna have to make that recipe but look what they did here Dear Mr type setting editor potatoes and onions because they didn't have enough space that's funny that is pretty funny hey hey gonna make that with my dairy free no beef gluten-free yeah actually the recipe so I'm gonna try that so I like looking through this old cookbook I've always liked looking through this old cookbook so I do it now while I have my tea because I have space that I can just keep it there then in the drawers here oops we're out but if you can just envision our plates go right here and then our bowls the boys haven't quite got the system for the unloading the dishwasher I'm loading the dishwasher yet but at least they do it right yeah I'm not complaining because at least they unload and Mike does the dishes so I'm okay with that um so all my plates go here and then our bowls these are my Pyrex that I love most of those Pyrex um and this is where we're storing all of our dishes and as everything's here except for the plates and down here we have all of our containers I don't guys I don't keep sour cream containers yogurt containers none of that stuff once a year or once every two years you see this one's getting pretty worn out is it is this one cracked oh I think this one's cracked okay so when I get them thrown out because they're broken once a year or once every two years I'll go to Dollar Tree and spend five dollars and get a new set I know I'm a big spinner and then I just keep all the lids there these little ones I did get this time because we've been using that size more he's actually going here and then I have all of my tea and stuff stored there and these if you guys remember are the little containers that I got at the yards or at the thrift store for I think it was a dollar for those um and you always get on the containers the sizes where the lids are all the same yeah so we don't have 18 different kinds yeah so I have three different kinds is all I have I have this one and then I have the two Cup and the lids fit on that I have this one and a quarter cups so this is basically one cup and then I have half cup and that's it and these were the ones I was using before I don't like them as well so actually I'm getting rid of those I just haven't done it yet I replaced them I actually replaced those with these these are gonna go in my garage to sort screws [Music] then we have the big picture window I'm gonna answer this question because I answered it in the video but apparently I didn't make it clear so after I thought I was gonna have to just suck up the little big picture window we had this little in the original kitchen and then we got this other one that was about one and a half times of that that's not what I wanted this is what I wanted so we ordered this one it was six hundred dollars and took four weeks to get here absolutely love it do we love it dear I am so glad we just chucked the four thousand dollars on the other one because this was definitely worth it all right and then I got my Tiffany lamp at a yard sale in Colorado for fifty dollars at the time I think it was 700 or something I don't know what it is now but got that out of yard sale for fifty dollars had it in our old kitchen in Colorado okay now the sink and stand I got it off of Facebook Marketplace for a hundred dollars I have this thing with old sinks no idea yes and you love me anyway how many old sinks have you moved for me hundreds it feels like I think it's only like four or five I was thinking six or seven maybe six or seven but it feels like a dress okay so got this at a yard sale it's in really good condition I have not put a new layer of porcelain this is it so it's in great shape it's a really good shape yeah okay so then here I've got all my worst rags and towels I don't have this quite arranged like I like this is my dishwasher soap I put in one and a half teaspoons is all you need to do your dish soap so I put in this scoop you can do one teaspoon it's fine but people put way too much dish soap in their dishwasher and so I don't use the pods this came with the dishwasher I haven't used it yet that's why I keep that in there and then down here I have extra towels and I actually have the appliances like the hamburger grill that the boys use up here so I'm storing it next to the sink now it's it's summer right now so they're using the grill outside for their hamburgers but in the winter they will use it here then down here I have my stuff under the sink I do not leave my paper towels out this is how I only use three or four I don't even know if I use three or four now I probably only use one or two rolls of paper towel now a year and so this is how I don't keep them on the counter so everybody can just grab them we have regular dish towels that we reuse on a regular basis so I just use I need to get some pretty ones for the kitchen I don't have pretty ones yet but we just use dish towels for everything I don't use paper towels okay so then on this side I have all of my SOS pads and brushes and stuff I think I'm going to move this to the other side though because I think what I'm gonna do is okay I wasn't gonna show the messy part but I'm trying to make this into my little desk I don't have this done yet but I don't really like this it's not working like I thought so I think what I'm gonna do is turn this put the stuff that's like the tape and the scissors and all of that here and here instead I think I'm gonna do that and then here I just have extra cleaning stuff that frankly I just never use but anyway I need to get them used up yeah and the disposal on Stucker thing whatever you call that and then our trash bags are right there because our trash is right here so you can see I have the trash bags over here with the trash here now I will say I kind of wish I would have put the dishwasher back here now um because with the sink being over here it actually would have been a lot easier to load it if the dishwasher was pointing this way and going in there but I don't know why Mike doesn't want to take all of this apart and refund it again I don't understand what's your problem with that [Laughter] so the trash and the recycle are here okay then I'm gonna finish this cabinet here now this countertop isn't finished yet because they have to come in and fix the rest of the countertop so I'll have them epoxy this when they finish the rest down here that's why the door is not on yet so that they don't get epoxy shut like the last ones and I've just got my napkins and my extra like wax paper and press the seal I don't use those very often just a couple times a year so I store those over here instead of in the more important storage area by my bar okay then in the old kitchen this used to be a sink and a dishwasher with a with a multi-level bar on it and I think the last owners really liked it because they had grandkids so grandkids could sit up there but we don't have grandkids so we'll probably regret it later I'm sure but anyway I decided to turn this into my baking Center so over here I've got all of my spices for baking I keep all of my baking spices with my baking stuff so I believe in having a baking Center I do not believe in um actually my baking powder is going to go into here I don't believe in going into your pantry guys I think it's the most ridiculous thing people store all their baking stuff in the pantry then they haul it all out set it on here do their business and then have to haul it back in here no wonder nobody likes to cook make it easy on yourself over here before this cabinet was still in this position before but I had it all up here in this cabinet before and then I would just pull it down use it all put it back up so it literally takes me five minutes to make banana bread five minutes to make a chocolate cake it doesn't take me any time at all because I keep all of my baking stuff together so all of that is in here here's my dry milk so that if I run out of regular milk I can use dry milk my 50 Cent bunnies which wow that was a really good deal 50 cents I saved almost five dollars on chocolate by using these bunnies for chocolate chips I just chop it up when I need chocolate chips then down here I have extra sprinkles I have tons of sprinkles from my soap making so I'm going to be using sprinkles on everything but got all my sprinkles here's where I store all of my leftover foil and my cereal bags for smashing meat or if I need an extra bag for something like sandwich or whatever foreign then down here's all of my little baking stuff my basters my pie server my funnels my cookie cutters all of those in here and then I have all my cake mixes my sifter all of those go down here by the way I got these for I think 50 cents after Christmas and this donut kit I got for 50 cents or a dollar I can't remember and this actually has the silicone mold in it so this was a really good deal because see Look it's even got the silicone mold for a dollar that's a really stinking good deal okay and over here I have all of my baking utensils pretty self-explanatory [Music] all of my mixing cups all of my rolling pins I use a small rolling pin my spatulas my offset spatula this is my biscuit set cookies yeah cookie cutter biscuit cutters isn't that the coolest thing ever I had them all over the place it was driving me nuts okay then down here I have my mixing bowls and my flour I need to move my flour up here I'm getting rid of the old mixer and just the new mixer because I need it for Affiliates stuff cooking so I'm gonna get rid of that my mixing bowls my vanillas corn syrup vinegar all of those over there by shortening I need to move all that up here in the corner because the shortening I use all the time the flour I use all the time so I need to move those over to here front Okay so then down here I have my mini food processor my food colorings my vanilla homemade vanilla my scale my immersion blender and the food processor that goes with it and my nut grinder right there all right then up here I have my pancake mix rice sugar and butter [Music] then my silverware I don't like this silverware door the boys keep putting everything up here so I think I'm gonna have to get a different one because this stays empty all right then I have all my sandwich bags here these are all these are the full top sandwich bags that I always talk about you know they have see a little top right there do this and then you put it in and then you take this little flap and you go over the top and it seals it for a sandwich for those who don't know how to work that so there you go then I have my wax paper my freezer paper and my glass jars right there whoops with all the lids foreign [Music] tell me what you
