Had some conversation with a girl this morning where we had to answer a question asking if we had visited any other continents. We live in the USA. Her first response was Canada. After I explained that Canada is, in fact, not a continent and a country in the continent we currently live in she said “...Well, I have been to Mexico.” I once again explained that Mexico was not a continent but a country in North America. Her final answer was, “Oh, okay. I’ve been to Florida.” It was one of the most shocking and infuriating conversations I have ever had. We are in our twenties.
Teaching your kids geography could help, just a little, to make your country look not extremely stupid. Yikes.

I asked my daughter to name 5 countries and one of her answers was "Spanish World"
